(( Came back from not having power for three days thanks to the hurricane to find my home gone and all of my supplies destroyed :l ))

Aye, Alstion was not captured. An undead struck me with lightning while I walked the walls (( And killed me :l In the city... )) but Alstion is under our control.

Alstion is rebuilt/plans for the north

Yes, brothers in arms! Alstion is, for the most part, rebuilt! And our defenses have been repaired and greatly improved. Stand by us and help us stop the undead onslaught! -
*Kendrick ponders for a long while then, with a heavy sigh, walks away* I can't bring myself to choose one. While I did talk to Pampo often and he was a fair and down to earth king we can not ignore the fact that he CHOSE Edmund to be his Seneschal. The former king, who seems to be so very popular, would not make such a critical choice without knowing what he was doing. I've fought alongside Edmund and dealt with him in business endeavors before he even came to power. Those who say Edmund is responsible for the North are ignorant of the world around them and would rather blame their problems on the man in charge than themselves. I was there when Edmund charged the undead keep with his army. I was there when he built half of Alstion up from the ground after the undead attack. And I'm still here, as he sends us reinforcements and supplies to defend our home in the North. Pampo was a great king, and it would be hard for any person to follow him, but I more than believe Edmund has earned his title.

With the undead keep defeated Alstion is free to inhabit. However the undead presence at Snowy Fields is a constant reminder of the attack that is to come. Massive projects have already been put under way to repair the damaged city of Alstion and improve its defenses. Within a few days we will have made the defenses as strong as they can be, but we will still need one thing. Soldiers to man the walls and thwart the undead invaders. I have the upmost confidence that many will come to aid us, but this sign is not for them. It is for any who think this problem is not theirs, for those who think the North is far away and the problems of Alstion and what was once Snowy Fields is of little concern to them. As you sit idly by the Northern cities crumble and the path to Oren, and beyond, becomes exposed. Do not make the mistake of waiting, pick up your swords and don your armor. And all of you former citizens of Alstion, rangers, guards, citizens, return to defend your home! Bring the fight to the undead in a glorious battle at Alstion. Make the fight to come one to remember.

OOC: Needed to bump this to get the word out. Someone keeps taking my Info packet at the news stand. IC: As much as it pains me to say this I can no longer run the Oren Regular as Head Editor. I've really enjoyed the several weeks I operated it and I'm glad it received so much positive feedback but I can not continue. So I need to say a few things. First: All subscription holders will be reimbursed for missed issues. Second: I need a new Head Editor to overtake the company. I will still have a small hand in the business but all the profits and papers will be managed by this person. (S)he will be solely in charge of the paper. I will only interfere if the person takes the paper down a route I do not approve of. Slander, false information, etcetera. If you wish to take the business over please contact me. (OOC: Send me a message on the forums or /tell me in game, my ign is nitsuadeschenes) OOC: This company was the brainchild of myself and some friends. We were really happy to create something this server had never seen but sadly real life has dawned on us with all of its complexities. One of my friends, a key figure in the business, is moving off to college and has been unable to even play the last two weeks. The other is also studying for his history major and he can't be bothered with this. I would continue but I have schoolwork, jobs, friends, and my favorite hobby paintball interfering. I don't want to commit to this at the cost of all of that, I also don't want to continue doing the paper on the side and deliver only sub par content. So it is with a heavy heart that I say I won't be operating the Oren Regular anymore.

Yes leland, they are books. I'm trying to get a system like that set up. Tre'bok, I believe so. I've gotten several requests for that town so I'll have to take a look. If you can please try to contact me in game at some point. Edit: I found Sanhar it is not at all too far away for deliveries. Bear with me, though, because I need to try to catch all of you (Online) and find out where you live before I can effectively deliver you the paper.

Just a few things I wanted to say... To Rekedens, we will be hiring delivery people, reporters, and even more columnist in the future, but for now we want to make sure the company will get a stable customer base and turn a profit. However if you want to give us stories to write before then we'll take them just realize we won't pay you, (Sorry). To Availer, I will be doing my best to RP this well. Our friend, Tim, set up a google.doc page where me and several others have access to the shop documents where we will keep track of orders, employees, subscriptions, and list. I have also set up a format for the paper that may expand in the future. The paper will contain one advertisement per issue, one interview or featured article from a citizen of Aegis, one column (Review, fictitious story, or otherwise) and one major world event. We will also be delivering these to the homes of people in Aegis who have a subscription. Which leads me to my next question, Availer. To succesfully deliver these would it be possible to add a bookcase or box to houses with a purchased subscription that delivery people can drop the copy of the paper into? Like a mailbox. Would make the rp of delivering it much more realistic and convenient.

The OREN Regular News & Columns! OOC:Due to real life issues I am unsure if I can continue to run this company. I know many of you will remember it as the first newspaper in all of Aegis, and a well made one at that, but I can no longer guarantee the time to make this paper consistently and professionally. So I'm looking for someone to take over the company. Please send me a tell ingame (IGN: nitsuadeschenes) or a message on the forums. It's with a heavy heart that I do this. Hello there! Some of you may already know me but for those who don't my name is Kendrick! Very shortly my friends and I will be starting a new newspaper and column company, the first in the world of Aegis. This post will outline the papers goals and different features. Our Goal: To communicate the news and major events that occur around the world of Aegis to its citizens. We will also offer a columns and personal publications section for purely entertainment purposes. Our Current Setup: We have a shop located in the Hill Shop district of Oren. We have a columnist, head editor, and head distribution manager at the moment. We offer two different products, a newspaper featuring world events and a column featuring stories and opinions on issues. What we want: We want several things: Customers, distributors, and advertisement! Customers: We want you! The truth is everyone in the world wants to know what is happening elsewhere, what they have missed and more! This service will provide that too you! ((OOC: It follows rp to use a newspaper)) Distributors:We want people who are willing to take our products and deliver them to distant customers, those in places like Winterfell or Laurelin. Advertisement: Not for us, for you! For the low price of 100 minas you can pay to have your shop or organization mentioned in the paper with your own description and details. Our Products and Offers: We have a list of convenient and affordable services for the everyday customer. At Store Purchases: If you do not want to make the commitment to a subscription you can simply visit our store and purchase a copy of the newspaper for 25 minas. One week trial subscription: For the person who is wary to making a large commitment the trial subscription offers one week of papers delivered to their home, wherever it is. This package costs 75 minas. Full, one month subscription: This is our biggest package. It is one month of us delivering the daily paper to your house. This package costs 225 minas. Note* If you buy a subscription please place a bookcase somewhere we can access to place the paper in it if you are not home! If you do not have a home or wish to simply pick up the paper you can go to the store and acquire it for free if you have an active subscription. New editions are released Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday. OOC: All of these times are "Real life" length. Conclusion: You've seen our goals and heard our offers, now we hope you will take the plunge and buy our products! We hope to become a feature in the lives of everyone in Aegis! Due to issues with payment we are no longer taking subscription requests over the forums. I'm sorry for the inconvenience but we have four subscriptions from PMs and forum posts that have not been paid and are causing issues with deliveries. P.S. Paper will be released, and deliveries made, at about 12P.M. (Noon) Eastern Time (-5). OOC: I know this may seem out of place but we ask that no one else starts a newspaper in Oren. We were really happy with this idea and would be rather underwhelmed to have someone else make a paper and try to oust us within the first day of our new idea. ;)
