  1.  Farren upon seeing the so called Lords and hearing their "talk" from his nearby cave proceeds to send a letter. It is sent to these "Lords" before Farren ended up chocking at the irony and dying.

"You call yourself Lords? The only true Lords this Kingdom has known are those of old, the ones who brought the system in the first place back in Elysium. The rest of us have merely been shadows in comparison to their glory. The Lords no longer deserve to hold such an noble title even if they call themselves that.  Since the time of Thorin Empire and onwards the title has been tainted and practically shat upon by their successors. Only a rare few can truly be called Lords from their successors. You're not Lords, merely parasites. We've only served ourselves not our people. Stop with your foolish dreams of glory, for it only serves Khorvad the God of Ambition. For that is what ultimately the Lord title represents, ambition. Not service, or glory. Just petty ambition that only serves to damage our people. Let the new generation wipe our wrongs, for we will only do plunge our people into further disarray with our greed. My times runs short though, so I shall end this by saying this. My fellow Lords, I await you in Khorvads Hall. Do not worry I'll be sure to ask our most grotesque host to save you all a special seat. After all that is what lies at the end of a Lords path, the path of ambition. May we rot in damnation together for our crimes.

    Sincerely,

Your Senior, Lord Farren Starbreaker. The servant of Yemekar who has strayed, may he take  mercy upon my soul.

    ((Couldn't resist :P Have fun!))

He makes sure to send some extra copies around for people to read, in case of accidental destruction.

  2. Farren dies infirm and senile in a dark cave within the Dwarven Mountains. A letter is sent before his immediate death by his aged tunnel mew to his kin, along with handing them anything of value he may have had (relics, ect). If one were to inspect the location further, they would notice a body of an aged forest dwarf, sitting on a dead turtle. As well as a few other random characters.

((Pretty much more for closure for myself. Ain't gonna bother with any fancy post. Farren and the rest of my characters are dead. Any artifacts such as the Scribberfolk armour and the Hammer of Ardol are given to Nala. Keep being awesome guys.))

  3. Caridin mutters to himself as he sits leaned over the bar counter reading the manifesto.

"Not all his ideas are bad, but never the less his policies on holds might sow the seeds for the destruction of Urguans Kingdom. With the threat of Oren ever increasing, is it really wise to vote for such an individual? "

Upon downing his drink he merely shrugs, continuing to say

"Bah! Only the Gods know, and they do so love to play their games."

  4. Caridin merely raises a brow.

"And what of Ognar himself? Does he wish to run for King? I think it's a hasty to nominate someone for King and ask for a revote when the individual in question has not publicy expressed his desire for Kingship. Let Ognar speak first."

  5. I have to agree with the stance on not grandfathering. People who roleplayed master smiths, stonemasons and other professions have to work hard and level up so they can be so. Why can't mages? At the end of the day if you want to be a master druid/mage/whatever work for it. It's only fair on those who've had to grind to became a master X. So in short, well done techs.

Edit: Doesn't make sense in rp? Find a reason, it's not hard. The farmers and artisans of the server have had to, mages can do it as well.

  6. I'm not an expert or trying to be rude here, just a few things I noticed that may make it more interesting. Though this may be just me:

    • Look at the content you're displaying, now think. Is it really interesting? Does it keep the viewer watching and yearning for more? This might devalue my opinion a tad but I found myself skipping through parts since I just lost interest. Roleplay isn't that bad to display but I didn't really feel draw into it or really engaging with what was happening in any sort of way.
    • Commentary - I kinda felt the viewers was a second thought, although it improved throughout the video.
    • Intro - I felt like I was thrown into the deep end, wasn't sure what was happening originally. A short intro maybe? Like "Hi I'm blah blah, we're currently doing X. Oh wow looks like Y is happening here! Let's go check it out", ect...

These are just some things I noticed, but who knows I may be wrong? At the end of the day I don't make videos. Was  fun to watch for the bits I didn't skip, keep at it!

  7. Tarren glances at the application, letting out a long sigh as he turns to read it.

"I'm afraid to inform you that Golem Industries has been disbanded in accordance with the new laws passed within the Grand Kingdom. I apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused.

    - Former El Presidente Tarren Starreaker.

((I completely forgot about this, terribly sorry! This guild is no longer active with the recent changes to runesmithing, and the Grand Kingdom policies. Again sorry for any inconveniences. Can a FM please archive this?))

  8. If you want to abandon your snow elf characters in Thales that's your right. There will be no OOC enforcement, however.

I think Lago summed it up pretty nicely. At the end of the day if you guys want ditch the snow elves that's your right. If people want to continue it, then that's fine. I'm afraid I don't really see the point in this post, excuse me for being blunt here. If you and your group wants to stop doing something because it's no longer fun, go for it. I just do not see the need for a forum post over this. Ultimately to contradict myself a tad here it doesn't matter what myself and the rest of the playerbase think. Since this is obviously something important to your group (considering you made a post about it), just decide amongst yourselves/decide for yourself. Instead of letting the majority choose for you, since down the road it'll only make you resent people. To cut this short, just ignore the poll and make your own decision if you want to quit playing a Snow Elf.

  9. I've been around of a long time and can say that dwarves can use magic. My character despises magic, "as most dwarves do," and would never use it lest be ousted by the other clans.

Anyway Hiebe was the only Irongut with Ascended blood, so saying all Ironguts can use magic would be false, only ones descended from Hiebe could use it.

I would have to agree with this. I used to be against it honestly, but a few months ago when LM's approached us about it a lot of dwarves embraced it. Either way from what I saw the Dwarven playerbase chose to be able to do magic back then, I don't really see why they want to go back on that.

  10. Just gonna copy and paste this:

The quick answer? Dwarves can do magic. We had a discussion with the LM's awhile ago, the short answer was dwarves can do magic. In regards to us claiming we have a magic buff that's due to the blessing. The reason Ironguts are special snowflakes is because they have Aengul blood.  So basicly what this means in short is Dwarves, can do magic but dwarves like to rp they have a slight resistant in return for longer learning times. By the way the trade off is normally when the dwarf learns magic he loses his resistant. Or most of it so it basicly becomes obselite.

The only difference really between an Irongut and a normal dwarf when it comes to magic is that the Ironguts have a higher affinity to it. Whilst the "normals have a higher resistance. I would stress "minor", really all that it allows us to do is cope with magic attacks slightly better and be able to work with thanhic ore more easily. Although we still can't just shrug off attacks or break out of illusions so easily. Unless this has changed, with a certain group now getting anti-magic buffs instead.

  11. I'll be honest here, I haven't had any enjoyable roleplay with a snow elf for months. I apologise if I'm being rude, but lately all I've seen the Snow Elves offering is poor bandit roleplay. In general lack of fun or engaging roleplay. I understand that a lot of snow elves can be deemed "new players", but I don't think that really is a excuse anymore. I mean take a look at this:

    http://i.imgur.com/7AHIyeo.png

It may be one encounter, but one is enough to leave a bad impression of the entire race. Bandits or not. Here's just a few suggestions:

    • Adopt the Vaerhaven build style. Vaerhaven pretty much is what a Snow Elven settlement should look like, if you haven't seen it you can look at it on the map download for Anthos. It's next to Kal'Asgoth. The builds are nice, and good builds normally make people want to explore the area. Rather than them thinking "Wow that's nasty".
    • Crack down on the "bad roleplayers", by this I mean teach your players that roleplay isn't some one sided method to get something from someone. It's meant to be fun for both parties.
    • Relook at the lore, I would advise speaking to Jistuma. His idea for the original snow elves were quite interesting. He could provide new insight into how to do things if you allow him/he wants to.

Edit: In regards to what I mean in "Relook at the lore". I speak about the culture, what makes the Snow Elves "elven", and what makes them different from other elves? In regards to how they look at the world. Think about how you could adopt simple ice magic for things, or how Wyvren is worshipped. For example how is Malin seen in comparison to Wyvren? Is he seen as more important or less?

  12. How about no magic buffs or debuffs at all? As far as I'm concerned you've giving a race a PvP buff. As we've learned with Nexus PvP, buffs in PvP aren't fun. Keep it equal, like with combat. Give the High Elves a boost in enchanting, alchemy or tinkering.  I'm confused here as well, isn't magic not in the current version? I may be wrong, but if it isn't why are we handing out buffs for something that's not being tested by the community?

PvP, really should have more weapon varieties similar to what we had in Elysium. With the current blacksmithing changes alone, there's already another part of the fight, more logistics involved. Since you need better blacksmiths to get better armour, to give your guys the edge. Just keep it simple, without overcomplicating it.

  13. A letter is posted beneath.

"Might I request that you use stone brick in future instead of simple cobblestone? I do not mean to cause offence, but I worry about the structural integrity of such buildings. As well as the fact as they're not really aesthetically pleasing. An increase in quality of appearance in your village shall draw in more people. Just some friendly advise.

     -C "

  14. somewhere, Mikael prays to godanistan that Dared doesn't teach any more elves golemancy.

Farren would like to note that he hasn't, and in fact the whole problems with the anvils originally started when the father of the current King sold a golem anvil  to another race.

    Meanwhile...

Farren and Tarren continue to adventure, far away from the Kingdom. It seemed that most of the Elder Generation of Starbreakers had left the Kingdom now, it is down to the younger generation. And so the question remains, what shall become of the Starbreakers?

  15. Farren frowns for a moment, before commenting.

    ((Written normally))

"I would suggest adding another category called Legacy of the Ironborn. Clans with members who're known descendants of the Ironborn would receive negative prestige. Considering their legacy, and destruction the Ironborn has caused. I would say this would be on par of not greater than the penalties impose on those who've mated with another race. "

  16. Guess this answers the fact that dwarves can use magic

But, I do however think the other two magics should be buffed, I personally would love to see Beardimancy be an actual thing in the magic plugin that is common among Dwarves.

I like to think that golemancy is exclusive to Dwarves because it's a secret closly kept, and the only people I know who knew it had to have 100 smithing, and be a dwarf in the Dwarven smithing guild. It's a secret that is kept closely and probably won't be shared easily with any other race. But I think Dwarves should have the ability to create actual golems. Given that the number of people who would know this is extremely low, and there's simply too much you have to do to learn it.

Also, wasn't runesmithing only officialy given to the Doomforged and officially told by GM's and Admins that they were the only people who knew it, while Aberak came back as a golum for the soul purpose of learning runesmithing, where he inappropriately learned it, and thus the chain of learners shouldn't know it? Just something I heard.

    In regards to Golemancy:

    • It's not really Dwarven anymore. High Elves know it and I'm sure some others will in the future. I would argue against golemancy for every dwarf since when it's discussed it's normally accompanied with the topic of "Let's make a golem army and burn down the High Elves."
    • Golem have personality, and provide what I would argue is interesting roleplay. I would say Stone Sentinals, is what dwarves could create with other magic such as geomancy, which would be essentially golems without personality if you wanted NPC's. The problem with NPC golems is you take away the unique roleplay that golems provide.
    • In regards to golemancers being a small group.  Yes we're, the problem being is you need to be responsible in OOC not just the Rp. As I mentioned many good candidates, we can't actually teach due to them wanting to make a golem army and ruining rp for others. High Standards are needed, therefore the number is unfortunately small.  Because a dad golemancer will create bad golems ruining the experiance for other players.

    Runesmithing

    • Dormin who was in charge perma-killed after losing his hands to Omithiel. I took over from there, and after getting the lore we had found out it had been rewritten to that it can from a group of Dwarves in Asulon, who the Doomforge had succeeded. Which didn't make any sense since Runesmithing was in Aegis. Hence why that was scraped.
    • I admit my draft was bad, hence why it's being redone. Link to my terrible system here. I'll post the link to Thrym's system which we use if requested.
    • Current Dwarves who know Runesmithing learned from Myself, Tortek or Thrym. Us three learned from fictional characters, golems from Kal'Karik and a variety of books obtained from runes. Two of whom, most notably Tortek or Thrym were from the "Arbrek Generation". So yes it was weird, but it was done to continue to magic.
    • It's currently a locked subtype so if people wish to learn, by all means join the Dwarven Smithing Guild.
    • In regards to jumping through a lot of hoops, not really. It's more about earning trust, unfortunately a lot of dwarves have expressed a desire to powergame with the magic. Hence why there ain't many of us around.

Again apologies for the quick/crude replies. If any further information is needed just PM me over the forums, or I'll reply on this thread when I return from my activities.

  17. Just a quick note, this is a really quick reply. So it's subject to editing. Any confusion, just post I reply I'll reply to that when I get back later.

The quick answer? Dwarves can do magic. We had a discussion with the LM's awhile ago, the short answer was dwarves can do answer.

    Golemancy

You need to learn how to do this from a Golemancer. Golemacy was invented by the dwarves, but that does not mean we own it or in any shape or form posses the exclusive rights to it in OOC. For more question about it I would ask Lagomorphia the inventor of the lore. For golemancy you need knowledge to create it and magic to enchant the golem and core. So typically runesmithing and enchanting is used. But I hear rumours of an arcane one being made. In regards to the anvil let me stop you right there. The anvil was a binding, meaning you couldn't do golemancy even if you knew it without the anvil. Some short bulletpoint on what happens.

    • Anvil of Suffering the original golem anvil was made by the Scribberfolk (Karik Dwarves Remembrancers). This anvil bound it so even with the knowledge you had to use a golem anvil to create the golem.
    • High Elf - Dwarf genocide war starts over the anvils that was given to them in a form of an event.
    • High Elves gain access to make infinite anvils due to golem core. In what I must say was a very shady series of events by both sides.
    • After a lengthy argument between myself, lagomorphia and zezimus at 2am in the morning. The anvils are linked together and destroyed. Basicly getting rid of all the anvils in existance. Removing the curse/binding. So that those with the knowledge of golemancy can make golems now without needing certain tools.
    • Just a note golem anvils are no longer in existance and can't be created. Only two characters know, zezimus and possible mine (farren). But I don't want to since a) I have to perma and b) I need LM permission.

    Runesmithing

This is Dwarven only, you learn this through the smithing guild at the moment. Currently being re-written. Any question about it feel free to ask myself.

    So in short:

    • You need to learn golemancy from a golemancer still.
    • Dwarves have a slight resistant - Meaning we're not immune to all magic or thanhic ore. It simple means magic is harder to learn, we can work with thanhic ore easily due to this and we have a slight resistant.
    • Runesmithing - Want to learn? Join the Smithing guild. Or the future guild if the new lore gets accepted after I hand out the second draft.
    • Magic? Dwarves can learn it, if you have question in regards to magic I would ask Supremacy. To me he seems to be the one who knows most about it.
    • Ironguts have a higher natural aptitude for magic due to that Aengul Blood.
  18. Problem is, that normally it isn't so clear cut. There are many grey areas, such as actions of individuals or a small group within a nation. The nation could deny responsibility for that group, for example a group of bandits. But the other nation doesn't have to accept this, because it's down to perspective. Eventually leading to the old arguments of :

"But X did this! And Y did that!"

Another problem is bans, why do we even bother threatening people with them anymore? They mean absolutely nothing these days. Since people can easily just get an alternate account or simply wait the short period that normally is a ban. So it anything seems more like a reward, a week break rather than a punishment. It would be more effective to take more in game solutions, such as restricting access to plugins or turning them into wandering souls. But again these issues might be for another thread.

For now how about the duration of the raids being 1-1 1/2 hours long? I mean to be honest, it's not like the citizens have to be in the city during the raid. The map is huge, there is always some place to roplelaying in it. In regards to time, how about also once every 3 days? A week sounds long, I mean I agree we need rules for when nations can't agree to make their own.  But a week waiting, doesn't make people realise they're at war and war is a bad thing. Not fun wise, but morally.

The whole forced warclaim thing, nah... I don't say this because I belong to X, Y or Z. Forced warclaims always make people rage, causing more drama than is needed. Nation leaders need to sit down and agree on things before going to war, if they can't handle that then they don't deserve to be able to go to war. Sounds harsh, I admit. But if you can't handle going into a single battle without being at each others throats. Doesn't that show you're not mature enough to handle such a simple mechanic?

  19. Character name: Tarren Starbreaker
    Gender: Male
    Race: Dwarf - Cavern Dwarf.
    Colors?: Yes please.
Gimmie your skin! Attach your skin (or a picture of it) here: http://i.imgur.com/9v1g2i2.png

    http://i.imgur.com/heve5Pz.png
What should they be doing? Any details not obvious on the skin? Pets, weapons, or other items go here too: Working the forge or crafting a golem. Although if that's too much work I don't mind if you just make him standing or something.  By crafting a golem I mean chiselling at a lump of rock to create the golems frame.
Did you pay me? Say so here when I'm done with your art(leave this empty for now): Payed 100 minas, meh :P http://i.imgur.com/QxoMVio.png

If regards to three pictures, can there be three variations for this character?
