  2. Farren upon seeing the so called Lords and hearing their "talk" from his nearby cave proceeds to send a letter. It is sent to these "Lords" before Farren ended up chocking at the irony and dying. "You call yourself Lords? The only true Lords this Kingdom has known are those of old, the ones who brought the system in the first place back in Elysium. The rest of us have merely been shadows in comparison to their glory. The Lords no longer deserve to hold such an noble title even if they call themselves that. Since the time of Thorin Empire and onwards the title has been tainted and practically shat upon by their successors. Only a rare few can truly be called Lords from their successors. You're not Lords, merely parasites. We've only served ourselves not our people. Stop with your foolish dreams of glory, for it only serves Khorvad the God of Ambition. For that is what ultimately the Lord title represents, ambition. Not service, or glory. Just petty ambition that only serves to damage our people. Let the new generation wipe our wrongs, for we will only do plunge our people into further disarray with our greed. My times runs short though, so I shall end this by saying this. My fellow Lords, I await you in Khorvads Hall. Do not worry I'll be sure to ask our most grotesque host to save you all a special seat. After all that is what lies at the end of a Lords path, the path of ambition. May we rot in damnation together for our crimes. Sincerely, Your Senior, Lord Farren Starbreaker. The servant of Yemekar who has strayed, may he take mercy upon my soul. ((Couldn't resist :P Have fun!)) He makes sure to send some extra copies around for people to read, in case of accidental destruction.
  3. With Uni starting up , I'm going to go for a bit. So in light of that, I'm sorry. I've been bitter lately, and thanks for everything. Enjoy life and don't forget to live it to the full. And "So long and thanks for all the fish!" well for now :P

  4. Regions that kill you are certainly to say the least charming.

  5. Caridin mutters to himself as he sits leaned over the bar counter reading the manifesto. "Not all his ideas are bad, but never the less his policies on holds might sow the seeds for the destruction of Urguans Kingdom. With the threat of Oren ever increasing, is it really wise to vote for such an individual? " Upon downing his drink he merely shrugs, continuing to say "Bah! Only the Gods know, and they do so love to play their games."
  6. Caridin merely raises a brow. "And what of Ognar himself? Does he wish to run for King? I think it's a hasty to nominate someone for King and ask for a revote when the individual in question has not publicy expressed his desire for Kingship. Let Ognar speak first."
  7. Now the question remains, how long shall the next King last?

  8. "Ah will follow the will of my Clan Father. " Your Name: Caridin Goldhand ((MC Name)): Tethras Candidates for Grand King: Grunmin Starbreaker ((Grunmin)): X ((On an OOC note, remember guys if you're not a dwarf or you don't actively play one your vote does not count!))
  9. I have to agree with the stance on not grandfathering. People who roleplayed master smiths, stonemasons and other professions have to work hard and level up so they can be so. Why can't mages? At the end of the day if you want to be a master druid/mage/whatever work for it. It's only fair on those who've had to grind to became a master X. So in short, well done techs. Edit: Doesn't make sense in rp? Find a reason, it's not hard. The farmers and artisans of the server have had to, mages can do it as well.
  10. I'm not an expert or trying to be rude here, just a few things I noticed that may make it more interesting. Though this may be just me: Look at the content you're displaying, now think. Is it really interesting? Does it keep the viewer watching and yearning for more? This might devalue my opinion a tad but I found myself skipping through parts since I just lost interest. Roleplay isn't that bad to display but I didn't really feel draw into it or really engaging with what was happening in any sort of way. Commentary - I kinda felt the viewers was a second thought, although it improved throughout the video. Intro - I felt like I was thrown into the deep end, wasn't sure what was happening originally. A short intro maybe? Like "Hi I'm blah blah, we're currently doing X. Oh wow looks like Y is happening here! Let's go check it out", ect... These are just some things I noticed, but who knows I may be wrong? At the end of the day I don't make videos. Was fun to watch for the bits I didn't skip, keep at it!
  11. Tarren glances at the application, letting out a long sigh as he turns to read it. "I'm afraid to inform you that Golem Industries has been disbanded in accordance with the new laws passed within the Grand Kingdom. I apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused. - Former El Presidente Tarren Starreaker. ((I completely forgot about this, terribly sorry! This guild is no longer active with the recent changes to runesmithing, and the Grand Kingdom policies. Again sorry for any inconveniences. Can a FM please archive this?))
  12. It's taken me an hour and a half of just walking. But I can finally... Finally! Cut down a bloody tree.

  13. I think Lago summed it up pretty nicely. At the end of the day if you guys want ditch the snow elves that's your right. If people want to continue it, then that's fine. I'm afraid I don't really see the point in this post, excuse me for being blunt here. If you and your group wants to stop doing something because it's no longer fun, go for it. I just do not see the need for a forum post over this. Ultimately to contradict myself a tad here it doesn't matter what myself and the rest of the playerbase think. Since this is obviously something important to your group (considering you made a post about it), just decide amongst yourselves/decide for yourself. Instead of letting the majority choose for you, since down the road it'll only make you resent people. To cut this short, just ignore the poll and make your own decision if you want to quit playing a Snow Elf.
  14. Starbeakers be melon bombed.

  15. I would have to agree with this. I used to be against it honestly, but a few months ago when LM's approached us about it a lot of dwarves embraced it. Either way from what I saw the Dwarven playerbase chose to be able to do magic back then, I don't really see why they want to go back on that.
  16. Dwain made love to an Aengul (Belka I think). So all descendants of Dwain have Aengul blood. All Dwarves are descended from Yudora and Urguan. Neither are Aenguls. I hope that answers the Irongut question thing.
  17. Really good, thanks for sharing it! Although any chance of the map download? I would be interested in checking some of those builds out up close.
  18. Just gonna copy and paste this: The only difference really between an Irongut and a normal dwarf when it comes to magic is that the Ironguts have a higher affinity to it. Whilst the "normals have a higher resistance. I would stress "minor", really all that it allows us to do is cope with magic attacks slightly better and be able to work with thanhic ore more easily. Although we still can't just shrug off attacks or break out of illusions so easily. Unless this has changed, with a certain group now getting anti-magic buffs instead.
  19. I think the video below illustrates what happens when you give people too much freedom. People get "creative". http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9C_HReR_McQ
  20. "Good thing I don't have a home in there!" ((It's actually quite possible to earn minas, you've just gotta be prepared to grind a bit. #ShovelSelling.))
  21. Moon Dwarves, dwarves on the moon.

  22. I'll be honest here, I haven't had any enjoyable roleplay with a snow elf for months. I apologise if I'm being rude, but lately all I've seen the Snow Elves offering is poor bandit roleplay. In general lack of fun or engaging roleplay. I understand that a lot of snow elves can be deemed "new players", but I don't think that really is a excuse anymore. I mean take a look at this: http://i.imgur.com/7AHIyeo.png It may be one encounter, but one is enough to leave a bad impression of the entire race. Bandits or not. Here's just a few suggestions: Adopt the Vaerhaven build style. Vaerhaven pretty much is what a Snow Elven settlement should look like, if you haven't seen it you can look at it on the map download for Anthos. It's next to Kal'Asgoth. The builds are nice, and good builds normally make people want to explore the area. Rather than them thinking "Wow that's nasty". Crack down on the "bad roleplayers", by this I mean teach your players that roleplay isn't some one sided method to get something from someone. It's meant to be fun for both parties. Relook at the lore, I would advise speaking to Jistuma. His idea for the original snow elves were quite interesting. He could provide new insight into how to do things if you allow him/he wants to. Edit: In regards to what I mean in "Relook at the lore". I speak about the culture, what makes the Snow Elves "elven", and what makes them different from other elves? In regards to how they look at the world. Think about how you could adopt simple ice magic for things, or how Wyvren is worshipped. For example how is Malin seen in comparison to Wyvren? Is he seen as more important or less?
  23. Just saying if we got rid of all combat related buffs/debuffs such as health, speed, magic and damage. We wouldn't be having these arguments...
  24. How about no magic buffs or debuffs at all? As far as I'm concerned you've giving a race a PvP buff. As we've learned with Nexus PvP, buffs in PvP aren't fun. Keep it equal, like with combat. Give the High Elves a boost in enchanting, alchemy or tinkering. I'm confused here as well, isn't magic not in the current version? I may be wrong, but if it isn't why are we handing out buffs for something that's not being tested by the community? PvP, really should have more weapon varieties similar to what we had in Elysium. With the current blacksmithing changes alone, there's already another part of the fight, more logistics involved. Since you need better blacksmiths to get better armour, to give your guys the edge. Just keep it simple, without overcomplicating it.
