  1. People of LOTC. What's your opinion on Perma-killing / keeping a character alive and it's effects on RP?

      The monks are like an emergency service. You don't know they're going to save you, they'll do their best but you never know. PKs are when they fail.

      As for why PKs are never forced, I can't name a single forced PK that's gone well. That, and the threat of PK leads to severe powergaming.

      As for your cutting up and spreading around the globe, that's you making the monks less realistic, not the respawning player.

      I don't take a non-perm death as the monks ressurecting you either. They are skilled healers, and come to the aid of those in need, you are delivered to them (or they find you) and they patch you up. This can go well, without any scarring, or you could (either choose, or roll) the severity of the effects. Maybe they have a limp now, or are scared of bows and arrows because they almost got killed by someone weilding one.

      As for permakilling, it should always be the players choice.
