Die Volksrepublik The second frigate had been completed soon after the first set off for voyage. While the first was still with the Protorians, a new batch of orders were sent down. The Berg would not be risked just yet in the war. Especially since the front had seemed to quiet down this year. No, the Berg was given bigger ambitions. They would be the first official ship in the SATO coalition fleet. Captained by a Protorian of the Republic, their orders were unique. The Berg shall begin to take it's first patrol route of SATO space. They will start with the Silver Knights, and warp their war to other SATO members. At each capital it is hoped they'll be well received. After all they were specifically ordered to treat all SATO members as if they were of the PAR. At each capital the distinctly German and various alien races will for the first time meet other human colonies. Celebrations, sports, and sharing of stories ensues. With each trip, the Berg crewmen gain more and more fond memories. At home things remain the same, expansion. More and more aliens and human children are coming into society. The city Utopie and other towns had been prepared for them. Alongside a massive agriculture sector, growth was to remain in the green. Space was aplenty, and so was food. Galorans are beseeched to come escape the horrors of the war on Jatorak. They could live their lives, and not have to worry about anything but living. The PAR decides to expand it's Ship Yards. (2 ap) (SL2) Continuing to expand academy. Though may not yet provide top notch military training, can still be useful. For now the PAR will search for veteran professors to teach their military classes. Alongside that it will be used as a regular schooling system for all the new children. Many original German settlers were chosen for top notch education domestic or military. So kids and teenagers can still attend class, and troops can learn ground tactics. (1 ap) Work begins on a new colony ship alongside the new shipyard. (1 ap)

Die Volksrepublik The old German anthem is played one last time as the Frigate powers into space. The Vorwärts is the first Republic ship of it's class. Differing from standard frigate templates, this ship is modified. The crew cabins differ, acquitted to the various races on board. Alongside several armaments, the frigate has a main frontal battle canon. This canon is a high velocity meant for long distances. The frigate is more lightly armored, and has several solar sails attached. The ship is meant for long distance fights, and evasive actions. This follows the standard PAR battle doctrine. Life is more important than anything else, and must be preserved. Their frigates will be for low level escorts and frontier raids. The frigate is fully crewed, mainly with aliens. Many humans lacked the knowledge to crew the ship. Thankfully the PAR had a diverse roster, and could choose from the ex but skilled alien pilots. Alongside the ship's crew, is the first batch of Sturmtruppen. Inspired by the old German model, these will be the void bound military units. Chosen from the top ranks of PAR shock troops, some two hundred men are chosen. They are not outfitted, as it is expected the Protorians will do that. And so the Vorwärts leaves almost as soon as it is born. Warping to the Protorian capital is the first order ever given in the PAR navy. There it is expected that the promised equipment and training will be given. The Sturmtruppen will hopefully be given state of the art galactic marine equipment. Their purpose will be to deter boarders, and engage in small scale frontier actions. After this is done, the Vorwärts will enter the fight. They are not expected to be in the front line, slinging projectiles at super advanced ships. Instead the PAR offers to help in fighting off raids and probes as a part of a bigger battle group. They will garner experience (and whatever tech/knowledge they can pick up) and try to remain alive above all else. (Important for mod) It soon becomes obvious that training will be needed at home. The PAR could not rely on the Protorians and alien newcomers to run their navy. And so plans for a military space academy are put in place. It will -of course- be built in space. Thankfully one viable option presents itself. The old colony ship, still sitting in space, is put to use. It will be the base of a sprawling campus. PAR will hire space experts from across the galaxy to teach at the new academy. No class is formed yet as they need to find experienced teachers and build it. It will also offer classes on all other forms of combat, though focused on space cadets. -- SATO matters Votes YES on standard currency. PAR supports Hephaestus holding as a candidate for holding the SATO bank/currency production. It is hoped to be a show to garner support from that sector of the assembly. Votes that space station should be in the space between Silver Knights/PAR/Aurora PROPOSES that any SATO member willing to provide resources to help complete PAR military space academy will receive full access for their own citizens to use it. -- Another frigate is built (2 ap) Starting construction of a space military academy (2 ap) Scientist look into tipping projectile with Xylorite for space combat, no prototypes are yet focused on. Republic of Galoran refugees are given full opportunity to settle down on Jatorak.

Die Volksrepublik Utopie had a sinister background, one few speak of any more. But the original humans remember. The People's Council had really been a military junta. Using others and their technology they had ruled the german citizens with fear. But as the galaxy rapidly opened up they had become obsolete. It was not the way and they had seen that. Thankfully a civil war had been avoided, life is too precious. And now, Utopie is growing. And not just with humans now. More and more aliens are becoming citizens and moving into the city. However a strict limitation to city growth had been voted. The valley harboring Utopie would by and large remain for agriculture. The new buildings being established were in the centers of near by valleys. The plan a expansion committee had plotted was followed to the letter. Jatorak and in turn the republic would not have massive cities. This would destroy the world and lead to problems down the road. Instead the plan was to harbor hundreds of small cities in the grand scheme. Perfect for this worlds, they usually will lie in the center of a valley. The rest will be given to agriculture, to support the respective city. Industry is left to the mountain outpost, and can be carted down to cities. A final vote is held for terms of immigration into the republic. Any alien race within the Galactic Council (Or a vassal/ally of) can chose to move to Jatorak. They will screened for health, and other needed basic guide lines. But by and large people were needed and no one was too picky. Anyone wishing to settle will be given a plot of land, and work would be determined on the locations need or their skill. Every settler is given the right to vote, and full citizenship. This would drastically change the colonies policy, and politics. But that will all have to play out. The only terms are renouncing their old government, and becoming a full fledged citizen. Of course visitors such as Protorians may retain their government, and live as a permitted settler. There is plenty of food and room for everyone, the only course is to grow. The first non-human members are accepted into the shock troop division. They will enter the same training, and be treated equally. Eventually some will rise the ranks, and become officers amongst thee Germans. The humans are all from a distinct German background, they are comfortable together. However they see no need to exclude aliens from their world. Especially when they can work, and fight. Utopie is becoming a haven for more than a few thousand scared Germans.. Construction begins of first batch of Republic frigates (I don't know how many I'd be able to produce at first) They will receive the basic armament of their class. Alongside that warp drives (tech had been given from T. Federation) and a main battle cannon are added. 2 ap Continued expansion of new building plan 1 ap Expansion of mining operations to feed growing industry 1 ap The Protorian Council is asked to provide training to the new Republican navy corp members. They are asked to add any improvements to the frigates. In return the Republic pledges it's full support to the council into the new war erupting. In fact it has already been voted on to act in support. The request for training and armament is out of hope to give them a fighting chance in the war.

Die Volks-Agrarrepublik (PAR) The humans of the colony were all excited these few months. Everyone had thought the Earth was gone (Though it probably still is they mutter). But now their Protorian friends say otherwise. The People's Political Committee had received a message. Volunteers were needed for a return expedition to Earth. This was a major event in the colonies history, a voyage of rediscovery. They had paved off into unknown lands. But now a chance to return. Utopie sends word that it will send a delegation. But not only humans will be returning to earth.. A team of every alien represented on Jatorak is sent. The heroes are sent off, to join the large expedition force gathering. Waiting to hear word back from them, the people of Jatorak carry on. One thing that is voted on within the cycle is a massive point. Almost all of the alien life had easily been integrated. They were fascinated by these industrious German survivors. They respected their heritage and culture, not just a blend of human races. And so the first steps were taken. Every alien citizen is given the right to vote in the cycles. To react, a immigration committee is formed. Any alien (literally or human) coming must first board the colony ship in orbit. The De Facto process center (Ellis island, historians joked) of the team. There Aliens are asked to list any weapons or materials going surface side with them. Any extremely deadly weapons or hazardous/invasive materials are strictly prohibited. A health test is taken, and then other needed test and examinations. But after that, the world is open to any alien wishing to live there. Land is owned collectively by the Republic, and so a round of voting is held. They must decide how the land is parceled out. For now land around Utopie is the only places available for settlement. The farmland is at peak production. However many people already live there. And so the new wave of incomers expand out even further. Earlier Utopie had built a series of frontier post and mining outpost. Now these were gradually being filled up with newcomers. Resources are pooled as bigger and bigger structures are made. The colony will begin to provide housing and enticement for everyone. Xylorite or anywhere it can be found is held by the military committee. No one is allowed to harvest it (including themselves) and it is jealously guarded by Shock Troops. Finish SL-1 (1 ap) Expanding living/commercial buildings for growing population (3 ap) Delegation sent to join Protorian expedition PAR officially broadcast to the galaxy it is opening it's borders to all races. PAR Not much was really of interest to catch the eye of citizens. A marked increase in alien visitors is happening. But the colony had all voted that was how they wanted it to be. So far the right to vote in the colony is not given to aliens. As a mark of respect however Protorians are allowed citizenship in the nation. A continuation of previous policies keeps pace. Farm lands will continue to expand, hamlets dotting the valleys and mountain tops. The Protorian crop is very useful, having fully spread and grown. Within the city industry continues, with the various mining outpost gradually feeding it. The Protorians were not begrudged after they issued the order. Instead Utopie halted research into it, acquiescing with grace. Because what they gained from it was the power of knowledge. If the Protorians feel the need to immediately step in, it was a truly dangerous weapon. The program is halted in its tracks, but not forgotten. Utopie accepts the invitation into the new Human council. Continuation of farm/town expansion (3 ap) Beginning to build shipyards (3 ap)

Die Volks-Agrarrepublik (PAR) People were ecstatic to return to their roots. Farms are expanding at a fast rate, thanks to the reserve of seeds. And now the plan has been implemented so as to never run out. A percentage of each farmers yield is turned into seed, and given to the agriculture committee. With seeds coming in from all over, they can than allot it to new farmers who have been granted land. And so through this process farm land will go around Utopie for miles and miles. The Protorian crop is almost ideal for Jatorak, their world. Primarily mountainous with rich soil, these crops will grow very rapidly. Soon all the mountain peeks around Utopie are dotted with these strange plants. The Protorians are thanked, having always done nothing but good for Utopie. Now that some Protorians are settling down on Jatorak, actions are taken. Already an architect committee had been founded. Little german looking hamlets are planned to dot all the farmland. The buildings are planned to be easily expandable, comfortable, and practical. Barns are made at intervals to store and process crops. The whole point is to expand towns, and improve the standard of living. A Protorian citizen is given command of their distinct task. A building for Protorians is made in their very own valley close to Utopie. The chief Protorian will build it in a rustic manner. Protorians are invited to escape their lives for a bit, and come to the countryside of Jatorak to farm or relax. Utopie will continue along it's path, making sure a large surplus of food is always in order. By this point, luxury crops will be rolling in by the cart as well. Tabacoo, opium, herbs, everything someone could need. A market could be established, many space faring races want such crops, but can't grow it themselves. In fact many people might find the Rustic charm of Jatorak appeasing, especially being so safe since it is in Protorian space. The first hops have been harvested, and brewed in the city of Utopie. The PAR officially announces to the Human Colonies and other space faring nations that the "Valley Brew" of Jatorak is now for sale. Sweetened with herbs, and the Protorian's fruit, it is a delicious beverage. A wine is also made, from fermenting the Protorians crop. It is hoped they will enjoy it on their rustic vacations. And so it comes to research into a devastating weapon. The Republicans knew that war and violence was rather obsolete, especially being in the bosom of the Protorians. But some measures needed to be taken, like the Shock Troop cadre still in enlistment. The plan is take a nuclear bomb from the earth days. From there a crystal would have to be planted in the middle. It is expected that a nuclear reaction would then set off the reservoir of crystals. This could very well be a world killer. No prototypes are made. Merely the gathering of materials for it starts. Continuation of expanding farm land (1 ap) Improving Standard of Living (Alongside a rustic Protorian settlement) (2 ap) Beginning of looking into Atomic/Crystal bomb (1 ap) Locally brewed beer and wine, luxury crops, and rustic retreats are opened for sale to the galaxy. The Terran Federation's proposal is accepted. Anyone from a human colony could come farm with the industrious little Germans and Protorians.

Die Volksrepublik (PAR) Events were moving so fast, it was hard to keep up with all of it. Thanks to the Protorians, instant communication was a thing. It was in fact apparent several other colonies had been established. The people were elated to know that some other ships made it. It seemed like ages ago, that final moment of leaving earth. Remembering all the fear and suffering.... The People's Council granted had kept people in order. But their control was too tight, they dared too much. And indeed it was the People's Council that first acknowledged these problem. The council, or the inner circle, was all top military minds. They had been determined to bring their German peoples into order. Chaos would of killed them all. But now they saw that their control was cracking. They could not keep ruling like this. Especially when they lay within Protorian borders. And so they had made a public speech, and then stepped down. The entire People's Council was dissolved, the rich and craft losing their power. It was handed to the people, as it always should of been. Returning to their socialist roots, a new government is made. The People's Agrarian Republic is voted into existence. Every single citizen is allowed the right to vote, with a few rules. A few of the simple ones are being above the age of sixteen, etc. A body is formed to maintain the administrate and diplomatic ends of a government. Mainly powerful (at least in influence and status amongst the colony) citizens find their way here.) It is their job to conduct diplomacy with other space faring nations. The rest is to guide the people, in suggesting courses to vote on. They are the think tank, containing some actual powers. They can block votes -if there's a unanimous vote against blocking it- if they are too out of order. More and more will be thought out, but the groundwork is there. And the government opens the first round of votes. It is focused on what the next few steps of the colony should be. A few rounds are cast, as they have to get used to this new concept. People are eagerly lining up at the polls, shaking off memories of the People's Council. And so the near future of the colony is decided by its people... The bonus of so much extra food and luxury crops was amazing. The people could live in comfort, knowing they would not starve. They are more and more less concerned about old manners. Such as droids, laser weapons and that lot. The people needed to focus on building a strong foundation of humans for the next step. And so the farms are planned to expand. Already the valley Utopie resides in is parceled out into farm country. With the surplus of seeds (and it's made sure every harvest a good amount is stored) more farms are made. A farming committee is very strict on how the farmland is shaped and cultivated. Organic methods are used, to ensure a sustainable cycle. More people are becoming farmers, moving out of the city into the valley. Within the city the people more steeped in technology reside. Utopie becomes smaller, but gradually more advanced and well run. Large term expansion in agriculture (3 ap) Scientist begin to test different ways to harness the energy in the crystal. Aware of the danger they work on it remotely and with robots doing the hands on work. (1 ap) The Protorians are asked if they would provide any gifts in the form of agriculture improvement. (Mod Please) With communication now possible, the PAR greets all the human colonies. They share a brief history of events leading to now. The other colonies are encouraged to share their experiences and findings. Alongside that a diplomatic branch from the colony is elected into a committee. They are to be the people to hold a galactic seat. The other colonies are asked to vote for Utopie. They reside within the Protorian's borders, and are on great terms with them. Utopie would try to ensure benefits for every colony, even those who don't vote for it.

lll People's Council of Utopie Everyone was losing their grip on reality. Alien contact with a massive space battleship had just been reported. Across the towers people were stopping. On monitors it showed the foreign fleet. Alongside that they were told of the communication technology. It is transported to the colony ship in orbit. A dedicated team is sent to communicate with the council. They begin to talk to the Protorians. Their goal is the exchange of information. The provide topics such as human history, culture, and other languages. They ask in return to be notified if the Protorians encounter any other humans. It is hoped to be the start of a mutually beneficial bond. (Mod Please) In other news the elite corps of troops is fully graduated. Their officers proudly march the men through the streets on floor level. Across the towers people are celebrating. Though shocked with the foreign contact, things seemed to be better. Finally enough seeds have been stored from farming. The domes would be returned to luxury crops and high value ones. The rest would be distributed to farmers. The valley around Utopie had been parceled out to these men and women. They would begin to grow large operations to feed the people. The troops were now rated to be as ready as possible. An official uniform is made for the hard working troops. In a throwback to the old uniforms, troops are given a grey tench coat buttoned up the side. This would go over their lightweight carapace armor. A jump pack able to engage in mobile maneuvers and rapid climbs comes next. Equipment is mostly mag locked to the jump packs, or in a series of bandoliers and netting on the uniform. Officers wear a two piece, A grey coat, with matching trousers. Lined with gold and buttoned up the side like the regulars. Their armament varies, most teams carrying standard issues. This would be mainly automatic shot guns and smgs. They are meant to be in boarding actions, or rapidly deploying into an enemy formation. Specialized teams would offer an increased variety of tactics. Such as sniper kill teams, machine gun crews, anti-vehicle, and so forth. The scientist who made the new discovery is given a hard option. He is offered to take an all volunteer staff into his works. They are told to pursue the route in which he took, to take more time to study it. The Council still couldn't get a grasp on the crystal. But they had begun to accumulate hard earned information on how it works and why. After meeting such a powerful alien race, the Inner circle had to convene. It was apparent they could not keep running the show. Things were too random, too wild, for them to keep up this charade. Of course a slippery slope could be followed, and their council could prosper. But their very people's lives deepened on that. And the circle was not convicted enough in themselves to take that risk. An so intense meetings are held as the council decides their people's future. A lot of thought is put into the use of droids. It would be advantageous to have humanoid looking droids, capable of domestic task. It would free up humans from more menial task, if a droid could be utilized to do it. Research would start into a feasible way to get this operation started. Resources from the newly expanded mines would be used for it. A military build is thought about but not invested in yet. It would take up too much resources, and they have the Shock corps. The Inner Circle sends a secret communiqué to the Protorian Council. They suggest that the colony would offer to become a vassal, if they could offer good enough terms. (Mod please) Beginning to use previously stored up seeds/held back food to expand agriculture output on a large scale. (2 ap) Continue of research into crystal (1 ap) Beginning of research into potential droids for domestic use (1 ap)

l l l People's Council of Utopie And so the referendum had been passed, and the programs were ended. The German people wanted their people to remain pure, and made of free will. Though it was a volunteer program, the people are returned back to their normal jobs. Some are actually discontented, having wished for a pass into the city. But life will continue on, or so everyone hopes. The new Shock Troop core is shaping up very well. They are becoming quite adept at traversing the mountains and valleys. With the jump packs tactics are fierce and highly mobile. Panic spreads through the colony as news of the Battleship spreads. However the Shock Troops are not mobilized. They are told to not bother. That ship could kill them all anyway. The council had no bargaining chips, they were defenseless. And so the colony ship hovering in space is sent orders. First they are to send a broadcast to the recon vessels moving in. The intent is to state Utopie means no harm, and wishes to know the intent of these ships. After the transmission is sent, the ship is ordered to the other side of the planet. They would try to shelter it from any aggression. Thankfully the Council had now for a while been moving it's population. A good percentage of the citizens are spread across the mountains. Though Utopie is still the center, several towns and outpost branched out. And they are always growing, as more people leave Utopie. In the main city life remains normal. There's not much the Council can think to do. So matters at hand are focused on. The battleship would have to wait. With the horrible explosion, many people feared the crystals now. It would seem that research would need to continue in it. A smaller team of scientist is selected. They will take more samples, and set up an outpost far away from other humans. From there they will take what knowledge they already have. Expanding upon it, they hope to find a way to use it. Continue training army in elite tactics (1 ap) Continue Researching into Crystals (1 ap) [5 total] Improvements made on mining colonies to increase industry (1 ap) Expanding frontier post into small towns, improving standard of living there, etc. (1 ap) Transmission sent to alien race (Mod Please)

Peoples Council of Utopie Things were going as far as thew council could convey it. They had been implementing a series of small scale programs. These could not all grow at once of course. But the seeds have been planted so to speak. It can be given attention at later dates. Priorities have changed drastically. The breeding program is not improved. For now the volunteers will begin the groundwork of the plan. The concerns are addressed as far as possible. The children will be given to adoption. Any family who wants a child can take them into their family. The parents themselves would be allowed to claim any of their children. This of course would be after their tenure is done. The Council opens up a referendum, allowing the people to decide on the breeding program. Improptu voting booths are set up in every living tower. Guarded by the new strong arm of the People's Council. Further progress had been put into the training of an elite shock troop force. Jump Packs had been improved, allowing heavier people to use them. They have been downsized, and made more mobile. Now with the tools complete, the troops could fine tune their training. Primarily with automatic shotguns and smgs, they utilize rapid strike tactics. It is perfect to navigate the mountainous world. Shock Troops are also idealized as a good space troop. But that's a dream for the future. They ensure no one riots (though it would be in vain, with the council controlling the towers). The People's Council hope to show that their control is becoming more accommodating. They had needed to ensure stability, and still will in full measures. But it was time to start letting all the citizens of Utopie have their say in matters of upmost importance. This would decide their generations future. Should they blend breeding programs with natural mating? What about clones, or robots and a reduced but skilled population. Science had to rule their reasoning. As for the hypothesis on the crystals, it is taken very seriously. Soon after the scientist had sent their transmission, military officers arrive. Shock troops close down the valley, and a permitter is established. The hope was that these crystals could have a serious potential. If they could in fact be used to focus that is. Very careful not to bother any of the other crystals, one is selected. In a series of controlled explosions, it's broken down. From there the scientist step in. The hope is that if they can use the right tools, the crystals can be shaped. The best hope was to make a focus lens out of this strange crystal. If it also could be used as a capacitor. That way a sphere of th crystal could be used to store a charge. Through some route they would have to find a way to draw from that, and direct it down a insulated barrel into the focus lens. A potential energy rifle, or even defense battery, is dreamed of. Other routes could be taken, and only the scientist will be able to figure out how to fully utilize it. The rest of the crystals are left untouched. Everyone is warned not to walk amidst or disrupt them. (Research into energy rifles/general info and use on crystal 3 ap) (Continuation of Shock Troop/Jump Pack doctrine 1 ap) (Mod Please for referendum in colony)

People's Council of Utopie The gears had finally begun to turn. The people were scared and listless, living in their large towers. But the Council had been furiously at work these past months. Outpost and forts were branching out from Utopie. Soon people would be shuttled to these new areas. The hope was indeed to gradually dot the nearby valleys with settlements. The Council wished to spread it's population out. The goal was to have many small villas working and sending yields back to Utopie. In fact plans went far further than even some council members thought. Many of the inner circle had been inclined to the same route. They wished to have the city for themselves. It was after all named by them, to resemble as English would call a Utopia. And so the lower caste had to be given their own land. Fear was not the staple tactic however. Though control was a must, leniency is shown. Citizens are given the option to stay in the city, from the first generation. If they cooperate and swear loyalty, they will be bonded in. The rest will gradually populate the rest of the world. But that was hidden ambition. For now all the people of Utopie were told was simple. The People's Council wished to expand control to the whole planet. People are given the option to go have land in this new planet. As long as they stay in the dictated settlements. Mines and other industrial buildings are started. Housing is rough and spartan. Many of the initial frontiersman are soilders and single people in need of work. As for the city itself, a few laws are enacted. The ruling line for these are the absolute need for survival. And so the People's Council enacts a breeding schedule. Women volunteers are taken, to begin the first generation of citizens born from the program. The child and mother both gain full citizenship in Utopie. Alongside this all pleasure crops are removed. Though water is abundant, seeds and crops aren't. Within the domes only the best crops are utilized. A large portion is held over for seed. The hope is to increase their seed supplies and start planting in the valley itself. As for the strange crystals, no large action can be taken. For now a team of scientist are sent over to examine them. Their ultimate goal is to brain storm how to extract it and it's potential use. Continuing settlement of frontiers. Mines are to begin production along side other outlying factories. (1 ap) Breeding program begins, to expand the population artificially (1ap) Attempt to expand amount of seeds in reserve (1 ap) Scientist sent to Crystals to find a potential use for it. (1 ap)

People's Council of Utopie Population; 100,000 Jatorak, a planet so alien yet homey. When the darkness enveloped them, no one knew where they'd end up. Germans were huddled together all over the ship, hoping. They had not left behind a stable place. Nor was it that way here. Many citizens were uninvolved in current politics. They were just the ones who passed the marks and seemed promising. They had been dragged along by the German military. In those early days, it was these officers who did the testing. An iron fist was needed, as the test progressed. Many politicians who had first backed the space mission were guilty of crimes. They had tried to use their power to get a place on board. The military, more idealized in mind set, refused. Only the top tier of their people could go. In fact many generals had been forced to remain behind. But things escalated, as millions of people tried to get a spot. They were inflamed by the aggrieved politicians, hoping to steal control. And so, thousands of Germany's supposed finest loaded into the colony ship. Behind them a civil war was being waged. German troops in a tightening ring were holding off waves of rioters. Across the nation the military was cracking down. In most cases executions were on sight. Their last sight of earth was rioters overrunning the military and slaughtering them. When orbit of their new home world had been achieved, many choices were forced. Many wanted to keep trying to travel. Others argued this planet seemed hospitable. But as they argued they all realized there was no choice in the matter. The top German military minds, the ones who made the grade, intended to keep control. With a hardened force of veterans, they had stormed into the meeting chamber. German citizens from across the board had been assembled there. In secret several republicans had sold their allegiance to the military. With their help, these open minded fellows were rounded up. Humanity could not be wasted through death, and they were made menials. And so the new planet of Jatorak was settled. A place of massive mountain ranges, as tectonic plates are ever shifting. Rocky plains scarred with thousands of ravines and plateaus open up between the ranges. In the mountains themselves underground rivers feed a series of scattered valleys. It is in one of the bigger valleys on a confluence of two underground rivers that Utopie lies. With huge mountains on all sides, the valley the city lies in is filled with life. The city itself shoots into the sky. Following a more modern architecture, the city is composed of towers and habitat domes. The towers are for utility, levels of production, living, and commercial. The domes are all interlinked, and supported on a climate generator. This is where the farms are, for the high level crops. Normal foods and live stock are grown outside of these domes. The majority of the population lives in Utopie, under the thumb of the People's Council. A mockery of the socialist ideals that had started this whole expedition. This instead was comprised of the military and like minded citizens. They keep control through technology and force. They control the power systems, leading to the towers and domes that are everyone's lives. To protest in a tower would mean it's shutting down. City life was developing, people establishing themselves in towers. Eventually entire generations could dot a tower, each having it's own culture. The top floors were reserved, mainly for Council troopers. From here they surveyed the valley, and the stars. Workers dotted the domes, growing the high priority crops in contained zones. Life was rather normal, as far as it could be, and most Germans settled down. Many were angry that their lives were being so controlled. But for now nothing could be done. A few thousand excited volunteers are rounded up. Led by council troops, they will start to head out to known valleys near by. They will establish frontier post. From there they can expand into resource gathering. (2 ap) Using their ship in orbit, detailed scans and probe droids are used. The priority is to map out the resources in the planet. (1 ap) Council Troopers undergo training. They are to be utilized in shock troop tactics. Mainly with high power guns, carapace armor, and jump packs. An officer cadre is put together, to make this the start of an elite entity. (1 ap)

It had been chosen for the reason of being similar to the Earth left behind. Mainly large mountain scales, as tectonic plates crash together and move at unprecedented levels. The world is dotted with massive mountain ranges, with open plains in between. Ravines and plateaus scatter this strange rock plains. Valleys dot the mountains, hidden coves of life. It is a bleak living in the rock plains, most stay to the ravine habitats. Water is present, primarily in large underwater rivers. These run through the mountain ranges, trickling down into the core. The colonist tap into these for daily living, but some springs are available. Forest dot these sometimes large valleys, tapping into the underground rivers. The temperate is hot, but not humid. History: Germany had ever been at the fore front of industry and technology since it's creation. In the modern age it was an even more current fact. Always striding forward, science became a pillar in German goverment. However, so did far more radical elements. After a period of turmoil in 2106, things changed up fast. The common man as it were was protesting across the board. Humans were concerned about the lack of jobs. Germany was becoming increasingly efficient, replacing people with robots. That was just the spark however, leading to far deeper issues. Leading a socialist party, a circle of German citizens made the grab for power. It was becoming ever more clear that Earth was dying, and them with it. Alongside the large riots, and growing lack of action. The army stood with this larger party, assisting in peace keeping and arrest. German goverment was opened up, with a socialist goverment at the head. Things quickly became intense. Control was key, as Germany needed to prepare for relocating worlds. The army and goverment understood they could not follow socialist maxims. The world was too chaotic, and everyone was looking after themselves. And so through brutal tactics, the German goverment readied to travel into the stars. Their most adept military minds spearheaded the movement. The top citizens, in many different areas are chosen. Doctors, farmers, scientist, every ultimately every needed asset. People with good gene traits recurring in their family, or marked as fertile are more likely. As the top tier of German people was chosen, the rest descended into chaos. The goverment officials mostly failed the mark. They however tried to secure spots. Sadly for them, they had already lost the show. German regulars begin to round up the dissenters, bringing them into army high command. There they are detained, as they watch the colony ship depart this system.... Republic of Alethkar Civil Feeling: Content Capital Population: 10,000 Military Strength: 234 [200 Recruits] [34 Soldiers] Wealth: Scarce Faith: Low So many issues were glaringly obvious. And yet to Quarter General Adeas it seemed they were never addressed. Those fool statesmen prance about, already acting like they own a grand city state. The only one with brains in his book was Dalinar. But even then, he had his doubts. Adeas was a tall imposing figure, armored in full Iron plate. He was one of the last true Alethi who's a professional solider. All those years back before the voyage, choices were made. The Alethi lords and their warriors had held the rear guard. Their deaths bought the time for so many to escape. Adeas and his small coterie were tasked with escorting the Alethi to safety. And so now Sadeas and his small troop find themselves in front of a sorry sight. Two hundred Quartermen as they're called. Mainly merchants, vendors, clerks, and Inkeeps of old. They were not an impressive lot by any means. Adeas had not even bothered issuing any but his veterans Iron plate and sword. Bows, spears, and elather for the rest. The Iron plate and weapons will be stockpiled. While these Quartermen would fight, they would also administer. They were expected to help run the town in an even handed way. Maybe they could do that with some success. But for now they needed to learn how to fight. Training begins immediately. Adeas leaves it to twenty of his men. They will act as sergeants and train the Quartermen. And perhaps Adeas could turn one liability into an advantage. Some of the Quartermen were hunters, farmers, of that like. As a solider they were pathetic. No discipline, skill, or training. Yet. Adeas reminded himself. But these men had skills elsewhere. Were the very beast that killed a few loggers in the past weeks soilders? In a way, maybe. And that terrified Adeas. But for now, he'd rely on his hunters and farmers to clear the woods of beast. They will use bow and spear, and work in teams led by Adeas's professions soilders. Only a few small groups will go at first, to conserve resources. The meat of all they kill will be taken back to town. Statesmen Runcefurd stood on the shore, hands clasped behind his back. They all squabble, they all try to maneuver. I am the one true Alethi. The Empire of old was something we should aspire to. Not this equality. But alas, I must play by their game. For now. Snapping out of his musings, the lord went back to town. A lord in truth, he was one of the few who did not die in the rear guard. Too sick at the time, he missed his chance for glory. But enough thought, time to attend to state. Runcefurd noticed how hard Adeas was driving the newly formed Quartermen. That would take up more resources, and cost more effort. He and his 'guild' as they were now calling political parties convened. They decided to press it that night at the town meeting. An official guild detachment from Runcefurd will meet with the sergeants, and advise a slower course. More and more it shows that Runcefurd is taking control of the military aspects of state. The Alethi plan to cut away the forest them and place farms in it's stead continues. It's hoped the land will be more fertile, being in the middle of two rivers. Summary Training of 200 recruits slowly begins, led by Adeas's professional troops. (1) Small groups of recruits who are hunters, farmers, forester etc. are sent to where the beast attacked loggers. Led by some veteran troops. It is hoped their forest experience will be an advantage. (1) (10 recruits/2 soilders) Farming/logging expansion continues though the outpost is still only a plan. (2)

Republic of Alethkar Base population: 10,000 Statesmen Dalinar sighed wearily and rubbed his temples. Walking out of the newly built town hall, the growing city is laid out before him. Ten thousand people, the last of his people. The Alethi were always sea farers, farmers, craftsmen, and merchants. Few were warriors, and those that were have died. Died saving this small colony. All the forest around the town have been destroyed. It paid off however as it's hard to shelter ten thousand humans. Alethkar was growing fast, in roughly a crescent shape pattern. Soon docks would be built, to straddle the harbor the city lays beside. Two rivers also ran right through the city, already bridged over. Their names are ignored for now, though one day they might earn one. Every where citizens were walking around, mingling and trading goods. Their society is close knit, the normal Alethi people all related in some way. They were a poor people, never rising the social ranks of old. Now only the statesmen and soilders held the money and power. The first act needed was what has been causing Dalinar so much grief. The Alethi statesmen were content to keep stripping away nearby forest. However that would soon put any large number of wood supply far away from them. Instead he and his small party have been championing a new cause. They propose to send two hundred foresters/river-men down the river, in their lighter vessels. They would establish an outpost, and start to forest. This action is barely passed, and is set in motion. The logs will be floated back down stream, to the waiting quartermen to process. To counter this, opposition statesmen Rancefurd vies for his own way to gain influence. The Quartermen, a small guild of quartermasters, clerks, small time merchants, and vendors is called to the town square. There, these one hundred men are formed into a paramilitary group. Alethi detested war, soilders, all the square bashing of old. However, they needed an adaptable force to not only administer the city, but to guard it. And thus these men will be part solider, part peace keeper, and part masters of supply. The Empire of old was an advanced one, and the Alethi had benefited from that. These hundred men will be outfitted in Iron plate, and given either a spear or sword, paired with a bow. Instead of recruiting a warband from the masses, the Alethi statesmen want a useful, flexible, and well outfitted corps. Twenty Quartermen are sent with the loggers. Quarter Master Adeas is promoted, to lead the Republic's army. One thing every Alethi can agree on is the need for more food. Most colonies were smaller, and easier to sustain. However ten thousand people all in once place makes for a lot of mouths to feed. Deforesting around them may have actually been a good idea. Now Alethi citizens are building hamlets on the city outskirt. From there they will begin to farm what was once forest land. Actions Traveling downriver to log/hunt for food (2) Form elite paramilitary group (1) (+100 troops) Start farming land near city (1)

Name of Civilization: Alethkar Type of Government w/ Ruler: Republic, Various key statesmen/generals/merchants. Race(Limited amount of racial bonuses(nothing serious): Human Religion: Alethi have a diverse set of religions, all similar yet distinctly not. It depended on where they used to live in the old Empire. Location w/ Picture: Short Backstory: The Alethi are a the shattered people of a once great Empire whose name has been erased. It had once spanned for wheels in any direction in Nadaria, but that was another time. Time itself killed the Empire, it could not hold up over the years. The majority of those who fled were the humans whose culture was Alethi. Their people populated the coast and outer mountain vales of old. They were not the rulers, instead mostly ignored citizens. What use did the sea bring but death? News soon slowly came in of the Empire's worsening defeats in battle. Soon their outer lands were being raided by nations never heard of before. The Alethi coastal lords mustered their bondsmen and in one pitched battle met their strongest foe. They were hopelessly outnumbered but victory was not their goal. The lords were more rural themselves, had bonded with their people. They and their sturdiest men bought time for the Alethi people to escape by sea. After a horrible voyage, a large portion of Alethi had made it to the shores of Akaria. They collect themselves, and found Alethkar.
