  1. The Ranger folds his sleeved arms across his moss-green coat's buttons, listening to the declaration and the responses that soon follow with a silent posture from within the crowd, making no aims to conceal himself. He quietly murmurs to himself, chortling as his thoughts run over his tongue.
"Never did I think I'd stand on this side of the fence, and have the gall to agree with claims against my once-beloved nation..."

Pausing momentarily, he listens once more as those around him cry out for their audience's attention and speak their minds, nodding to at least appear involved for the remainder of the scene.

"Pitiful, that they refuse to acknowledge the qualms of the people they so serve... They are not twisted souls, but they haven't the hearts to come forth and rid themselves of the irrational fear against their own kin." He scowls with a staggering lip as he mutters his opinion.

Finally, he lifts his voice amongst the crowd, his throat coarse from the recent winter air.

"Call-out those who lead you yet fail to respond, Mali. For if they cannot face their own people, they may just as-well lay down their authority where we stand and either leave, or join us."

  2. Somewhat irrelevant post below.

Malin was Malin, not a Druid. Though I understand your point, he was simply the epitome of an Elf. The only reason the Druids have ever been in Malinor was because there were open perms in one region of Laurelin in Aegis so they settled there knowing that Native was a cool guy and the Elves have similar views to them. They could have just as easily been in the wilds, t'was but a matter of convenience that they were once (kinda) allied with Malinor.

  3. I tried my best for Malinor through both Aegis and Anthos with my 'gap year' being with the Mori through Asulon. The recurring problem, from my perspective, has been the lack of a devoted playerbase. There have always been very few actual 'figureheads' throughout the Elves' time on LOTC. By that, I mean there have been few Shiftnatives, few Indelwehns, few Titanias etc.
Players come and go, they rarely ever stay for long. Even with Lafthi (Archoly/Rathriel) he will come and go again for short periods of time. It was for this reason that I stayed with Malinor for as long as I did, but a few months back I ultimately decided enough is enough. I do hope there is finally a change, of course I do. But I'm no more willing to quite literally waste away my years looking after players that don't want change.

I like to consider the Lumidrim my 'leaving present' - the single project I wanted up-and-running so that I may leave in confidence with its continuation. I'm glad to see that could happen, and I'm still proud of not myself but the players that had the initiative to take something good and hold onto that.

Good luck, guys. But count me out from now on.

  4. Bird is such a gentle person, which is why I love talking to her, on the rare chance!

However, I would perceive that as a possible downfall, though I could be wrong about it. I feel that given an argumentative/stubborn 'situation' you may find it harder than some to truly enforce yourself. Of course, I do hope I'm entirely wrong and there is more than enough possibility that I am.

Regardless, I'd enjoy having Bird on the team, she certainly has the bases covered.

  5. I've never personally spoken with TheBareSheet before, but from work that I've seen her do about the forums I get the impression she is a dedicated worker and capable of getting work done.

I'd be happy to have her on the team; good luck!
