There was a wee dwarf with a beard Who unknowingly was to be sheared No loving remarks from the dwarf that just barks Will prevent that he wakes with no beard :D

The Fate of Aegis A breath of élan vital dawned Aegis A realm too aged to all reminisce Some legends and myths are now buried in eons While the extant struggle for freedom goes on Like the brothers of old their children persevere Against the rule of great evil to which the undead adhere The kin that are orcs, dwarves, elves and men At a nadir they now stand which they must ascend When dark times besiege the spirits of all races It is to hope we must abide to endure the blazes To remember our friends and honour their memory In our plight, grief and loss; a light so tenderly Anew myths be written of great heroes’ deeds Valiantly protecting a world now in need United we stand or save we will fail In the lands of Aegis good will prevail ~- A poem from the quill of Aegnor-~

I am no great warrior or tactician and I have never been to the North, but from my experience in tracking and moving about unseen in the wilds I know that the best way assure a lethal blow is to keep hidden until you've closed the distance to your target. From what I've heard the dwarves are mighty miners and diggers. Why not have them tunnel into hostile territory, across the battlefield and as close to the castle as possible. Having prepared you could then launch an attack. If they don't see us coming, they will have trouble defending their keep. While a reasonably sized force could march above ground to distract them from discovering the ones in the tunnel, these could surface from behind the undead fiends. By converging from several positions the enemy would have to divide their attention, maybe becoming separated, the following confusion making their offensive power a bit easier to overcome.

How to change your MC name to your RP name
Leirfald replied to Availer's topic in News & Announcements Archive
I'm guessing it works somewhat like installing bukkitcontrib (the client side thingy) which changes what you to see from the MC names into RP names. It's really helpful in keeping track of who you're talking to, and it really raises the level of immersion. -

I am currently in the wilds, living off the land. I have no home other than the one I have built out here. I'd like to give you directions, but I only have a general clue as to where I am myself. I know that it is south of our dear capital, but other than that I am not certain. I could make my way to Laurelin and meet you at a tavern or an inn, if that would suit you? -

Greetings, I am Aegnor Felagund. I happened upon your story and was absolutely entranced, it felt like I was along for the ride on the boat, the fall into the cave and the finding of the scrolls. However, as the words “Ame kaean’leh evareh, leyu’mali” reached my ears I felt my heart skip a beat. This word “Ame” I have heard before, many decades before actually. … My Journal - 9th of Suns Smile, 1250 “I headed out early this morning. Every morning of the Suns smile should be greeted and welcomed. I let the grass under my feet lead me on; it seemed I was to go to the glen today. Glen Ferus never ceases to surprise and frighten me. I have always felt an unrelenting pressure of a feral will beating against my own. Not like the peaceful, often passive nature found in other parts of the forest. I find no calm here, whenever I go to this beauteous valley my heart seldom enjoys the beauty as my eyes do. Often I will detect a blur at the periphery of my sight, gone when I turn my head. I got caught in a sudden storm as I was walking the valley floor, the downpour forced me to find shelter under the arms of a young friend, a tree only a few dozen cycles old. I fell asleep as twilight gave way to night. During my sleep I dreamt quite vividly, the trees were talking and singing in a tongue I couldn’t understand. As the words grew stronger and nearer I realized that it was not the trees that were talking amongst themselves, but a being of the forest…no…a spirit of the forest was talking to the trees! When it noticed me it spoke to me in a language I never had heard before. I could only make out a few words…but the meaning of them was beyond me. In the early morning the rain finally stopped, as I wandered out of the glen all I could think of was my dream of the dryad…” I was certain that this was only a dream, but now I question if I really met a spirit of the forest. I am certain I could remember some more of what it spoke if I could familiarize myself with our ancient elven language. If there is anything I can do to help your efforts, I very much would like to join you in your endeavors! -
Out-Of-Character: Minecraft Account Name: Leirfald -How old are you? : 23 -Time-Zone/Country of Residence: GMT +1 , Norway -Do you have a good grip on the English language/good grammar? : Yes, quite comfortable with it as a second language after spending a year in the UK. I am usually quite good with grammar, but once in a while some slips might occur. -Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself: At the moment I am unemployed, might be headed for floorwork at a factory. Been a musician off and on, done odd projects in and around the area I live in. In my spare time I enjoy reading, gaming and a bit of music on the side. -How much time could you be on the server weekly?: Until I get a job I would easily play 30+ hours a week. If I acquire a job I might have to limit my playing to 2-4 hours per day, or 20 +/- . I’d guarantee a minimum of 15 hours a week. -How long have you played minecraft?: Since January ‘11 -What do you know about roleplaying?: I’ve been in a couple of Pen and Paper (D’n’D) games in the last couple of years. Played a Role-play server back when the LOTR-MMO came out. Never been much of a powergamer, always preferring to make a character with an intriguing backstory whenever I play RPG’s like ‘The Elder Scrolls games’ or Neverwinter Nights (1&2). I know the importance of keeping within the bounds of roleplaying the character to enliven the world around you. It’s a bit like karma, give and ye shall receive. Empower the RPing life of those around you and it will enrich your own experience. -What do you expect this server will be like?: Hopefully it’ll be a place to ascend to a rewarding RP experience like no other, giving the opportunity to craft a character and take the backseat as the history, current events and setting drags him/her into a rich and RP friendly adventure. -What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?: Played on a build server for a while, grew bored after a while. -Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules?: Yes, I’ve read and hereby accept the Law of LOTC. -Did you vote?: Yes -What was your favourite Law?: No hacked or modified clients….no griefing is nice too. -What was your least favourite Law?: I fully agree with the laws. So, none. -Name the 4 races on this server: The races are the descendants of the four brothers Malin (elves), Krug (orcs) Horen (humans) and Urguan (dwarfs). -How did you hear about us?: Found the post in Minecraft Forum. -What is your The Lord Of Craft forum account name?: Leirfald -In-Character: -Character Name: Aegnor Felagund -What is your Race?: Wood Elf -Biography: Aegnor was born in the first week of ‘Malins welcome’ (The less cold season) 72 years ago. He is the son of Mablung, a proud Warden of the Forest, who convinced his wife Gilraen to move out of Laurelin to shelter their child from what he perceived as the corrupting influences of commercialism and politics ever present in the capital. Growing up somewhat isolated from the rest of the elven community Aegnor got most of his education from his mother, who had brought with her several volumes of books and poetry, while he did learn to read and write he never found much joy in delving into books on heavier subjects than the simple yet beautiful mysteries and truths found in poetry. His “real” education came from the time spent in the forest with his father, being drilled in the fine art of archery and tracking. While finding himself fairly talented in these endeavors he had a growing spiritual longing, a sapling planted from the fine prose telling of the “Mother Tree” and the magic of the forest. Coming of age he begged his father to be allowed to go on a pilgrimage into the city to see the “Mother Tree” for himself, once made this was a trek he did once or twice more the following decades. As he grew into his late sixties Aegnor grew restless in the confines of his father’s gaze, wanting to head out amongst those other than his kin, experience the pulse of the forest from a deeper spiritual perspective that he thought he might find in others of his kind, maybe the druids? -Character Age: 287 Human Seeds or close to 72 in elven years. -Character Appearance: Aegnor is of a shorter stature since he’s a Wood Elf. While his limbs appear thin at first glance their sinew are revealed with every draw of the bow and the feline way which he moves through the forest. From a close encounter with a spider he sustained a nasty bite to the face, leaving him with a scar running across his left cheek. He has green eyes and dirty blond hair to go with his light brown skin. -Character Personality: While slightly introverted as a result of his upbringing he does possess traits of openness to new experiences and curiosity of mind. Feeling bonded to everything around him he is empathic and guided by strong values and virtues grounded in his spiritual nature. He does however lack economic sense and is terribly naïve in the dealings of the world. He is a bit rough around the edges and lacking in social skills and will need a while to acclimatize to the elven culture that is almost foreign to him. -Your ambitions: Aegnor will first try to come into contact with druids (or the like), head out of the elven nation and wander the lands of other kingdoms, hopefully he can make a home for himself somewhere back in Malinor, write poetry and somehow get his hands on enough coin to make a living for himself. Maybe someday he can aspire to join the ranks of the druids? -Can your character read or write?: Yes -Can your character mine?: No, he has lever laid his hands on a pick. -Are you a capable builder?: No -Can you wield a sword?: No, he is more comfortable with a bow. -Enjoy Farming?: Yes, working with the plants and soil was necessary for his family to be self-sustained away from cities and towns. -Does your character have any special skills?: He knows his way around the forest and the herbs and plants found there. Other than some herbalism he is a good tracker and is a promising archer. -A screenshot of your skin: http://www.planetminecraft.com/skin/wood-elf-113392/ -Other Information: N/A
