  1. Ben Avice is sitting in his usual seat at the tavern when he hears a bunch of commotion outside. Ben decides to head outside, mug in hand. As he nears the scene he finds the mutilated corpse of a girl. His face wretches at the sight. "Clean this mess up." he says to the few guards around. "These thieves and murderers must be stopped. Charles have all the guards on high alert." he huffs as he turns back around heading for the tavern. He downs the remains of his lager in one go as he walks along the path, tossing his mug into the grass.

  2. Strolls out of the tavern a mug nearly full of lager in his right hand as he strides over to the farm. He notices Rolf in the fields plucking some carrots, he gives him a wave and continues on. As he nears the trees Kenric is seen felling a tree. Ben raises his mug and gives him a courtesy nod. He heads into the warehouse, it full to the brim with supplies. He shakes his head in frustration. He takes a large swig of his lager.

"All these workers and no merchants. If only I had some t' get rid of all this stuff." he says to himself, shaking his head once more. He grabs some signs and begins to nail some up in seek of merchants.

  3. Ben comes across the note and smiles, he quickly writes a response.

"This webbed note has found my attention. We at Kaphro strive to bring you anything that you desire. Putting the customer first. I can assure you I already have an abundance of each of these materials. If you would like to discuss business, merely send me a bird or come visit me in Kaphro. Your constraints, are my constraints."

    - Ben Avice, Mayor of Kaphro.

  4. Kaphrite Supplies & Trading

We are hiring at all times!
We never say no to a reasonable offer!
We bring you only the best, well sort of.
Your constraints are our constraints too!

We are an established business with a workforce that surpasses any other. We can fill any order you send us, whether it be from dirt to diamonds. We've just decided to release ourselves to the public because our stocks are too full to sell to the few vendors we have. We have a group of workers willing, ready, and able to fulfill your order in a timely and precise manner.

    Place an order?

Placing an order is quite simple. Either send a bird, come to Kaphro, or leave a note here with a description of the details of the order. Pricing will almost always be discussed in person. Shipping may require additional fees depending on distance.

    Need wood? We have it!

    Need stone? We have it!

We have it all folks, and if we don't, we will!

Merchant: Merchants are the base of the company. The structure. They go around and promote our business. Travelling the roads and hocking wares in the name of Kaphro is what these social butterflies do best. You may like to make a coin by getting the customer drunk and selling them overpriced wood, or perhaps an honest salesman with many connections. As long as we get our coin, we don't care. Pay will be determined by how loyal you are and the amount of wares you sell. The amount of wares you are given to sell, is based on trust.

Laborer: Whether your skills be woodcutting, mining, farming, herding, or even if you can do some heavy lifting we need you. Gather resources and be able to transport them on a moments notice is what we need from these folk. Being mentally strong is important to endure these physically straining tasks, this job is not for the weak. The pay for laborer depends on how hard you work. Each worker is given a work chest. And every elven day (or nearly) we have someone check them, replacing your hard work with a satchel of minas.

Apply for a job? Come see me in Kaphro, leave a response with your name, or send a bird to Ben Avice. ((Benben582)) I will deem your worth there.

  5. Hundreds of notes are written by the tireless Ben Avice. He walks outside the tavern and gazes towards the shut gate and tower guards. With a bundle of notes in his hand, he straps a few to each pigeon and watches them fly in seperate directions. He gazes up at the dozen birds and sighs.

    "I hope someone finds one."

Ben walks back inside the plague free tavern, shaking his head as he grabs his lager from the counter and takes a seat.

The birds fly throughout the fringe, the notes flying off in random places. Notes scatter the fringe reading:

The trade town of Kaphro is purchasing the following items.

    Leather from a clean cow.

    Dead brush fit for filtration.

    Plauge masks.

Prices will be negotiated. contact Ben Avice((Benben582)) or Lord Damien Baselius((happyshackles)).

I can guarantee a plague free environment if you bring the supplies to us.

    - Ben Avice

  6. Ben notices the poster as he strolls by the Tavern, he cracks a smile.

He scribbles a note and sends it off on a little pidgeon.

"Hello Kaizar, I may have some books that interest you. However, for a couple, I ask that we negotiate pricing. Come to Kaphro or send a bird to talk pricing and get a firsthand look at the books."

    - Ben Avice, Mayor of Kaphro

  7. Because the Tech team took LOTS & LOTS of time to make those plugins. They put time and effort into those things. They want it to be their own, the one and only of its kind. They don't want other servers using the plugins (that were probably paid for) that were designed specifically for this one. If you want a specific plugin, take up coding yourself?

Do we understand that we do not allow 'minas or die' RP? That we provide Roleplaying combat regularly and use PvP occasionally or if the opposition wants it? That we don't accept poor quality RP?:  Yes, I love that actually.

If it matters, I had an old VA accepted.

  9. *Ben walks up to the odd sigh, reading its words carefully.*

"This might just be what I was looking for..."

*scribbles down his answer, it reads.*

'I am Ben Avice. I'm merely a laborer but the dull tasks bore me. I've been reading quite a bit about magic, Illusion magic specifically. I've tried my hand a few times to no avail.. The trait that would fit me best would be, determined. As I am determined to leave my boring life behind and follow a new path.'

*Folds up the note and pins it up.*

  10. No. It turns into the matter of I paid $25 for LWC and someone can still take my items. Why am I parting ways with my money again?

This is an RP server. You donated, not paid if I remember correct.

Honestly, how many times do you get robbed? If the GM's moderate it, using their best judgment on what is fair and never reveal the full contents of the chest to the player. It offers another, whole realm of RP up, for just a small sacrifice. Hell, get a detective and find the guy that stole your stuff! Go on a manhunt, offer a mina reward for the return of that prized possession.

  11. I love lockpicking. I didn't abuse it when it was around but it created so much fun RP for me. Getting a group of a couple criminals, finding a more desolate house in Abresi and try to get in and out without anyone noticing. I was caught plenty of times but it was so much fun for me, and I'm sure for all the people involved too. There really isn't much villain RP besides bandit attacks and killings. What happened to the pickpockets and the thieves? There are none because lock picking is bunk.

I think we should bring it back, and the GM involved, when unclocking a chest, takes a few of the items out for the player. Or the player, before entering the chest, tells the admin a few items he is looking for and if its not there, then hes out of luck. It devalues the value of LWC by so little if the GM's moderate items.

I do think it will have a positive impact on RP in general. Making it more necessary for a guard force, providing more extensive villian RP, give the white knights and everyday heroes something more to act upon, possibly even different punishments for these crimes! Such as a hand being chopped off or something.

Anyways, thats just my two mina on the matter.

  12. I must've missed this topic and I made a post in ideas about Lockpicking. I'm going to repost it here.

Since new year the changes to lockpicking state that you may use it to enter a home, but not a chest. One of my characters I specifically designed to be a burglar/heist man. With this new rule, this takes away from a large portion of my characters RP. I'm not whining and I am perfectly content if this rule sticks, I'm simply offering a proposal to fix the current system to give a chance to people like myself to RP as the villain of their choice.

My idea is as follows, when choosing to lockpick a chest you have to set a predetermined list of items you are looking for. Then after completing the lockpick RP successfully, as we had it before, the GM administering the 'event' searches the chest for a limited amount of the items specified on the list. If none are found, your efforts would be moot and you get nothing from the chest. Limited to one or two chests per household/day.

The GM's doing the event could also call upon an ET member or make an event themselves more often too and actually stop the thiefs or slow them down and attract attention atleast.

There would be a list of items you cannot search to prevent the whole "doing it to get rich" and promoting the "doing it to get what I need" type of villains. There would also be a couple generic groups such as food, wood, or saplings. Limits would be put on valuables no more than five or so ingots could be hauled off at a time, aswell as no more than a stack of any block. Items such as slimeballs, string, building blocks, would all have to be searched for specifically.

Anyways this was my best idea for a solution and I really would enjoy lockpicking of chests making a comeback.

  13. The order for Elven phrases is Subject Object Verb. So the name should be "Sulii'Vull" in order to mean to deceive eye. Though the interpretation will receive mixed results, which is why I suggested being called an "Eye Deceiver" in my previous reply. I believe Vullir'sulii to be the best wording.

Ah! Your posts are very helpful. Thank you tons!

  14. You're joining a verb to a noun for what purpose? They are two separate words that have no added meaning when joined. If anything it makes it more confusing. What are you trying to say?

Vullir'suliin almost works. But the only reason for merging the two is so that it IS one word, as in the case of a name. In actually fact Sulii'vullir is probably better

Hmm I was trying to make the phrase "To decieve the eye". I understand a bit more now with your explanation. I just thought it'd be cool to have a fitting last name for my character.

Edit: Would "Vulsulii" be a suitable last name for the meaning I'm trying to achieve?

  15. Make mines harder. I really enjoyed valuing my iron armor very highly.

Or if you don't want to find a fix for the mining system, then possibly return losing a percentage of your minas on death? This would really improve highway banditry RP and most all villain RP in general imo.

I also came up with this rather distant idea after reading number 4. Possibly somewhere down the line on 4.0 have a god plugin? Where you can sacrifice things to certain gods and you'll get temporary buffs or something like that. Just an idea, not really going to push for it or anything.

  16. Getting minas through villainy will always be more satisfying than through peaceful RP. That's why bandit RP is so popular, its extremely fun and the only way at the moment to actually earn some minas while being evil.

I'd like to mention that your point is not exactly true. Yes robbing someone on the highway is the only way to get direct minas. But burgularing a house and hawking the wares on the auction house is surely not out of the question? Or perhaps even trying to find a fence to sell your things to for a reduced price, bringing someone else in on your villainy.

There is plenty of out of the box thinking that villains could be doing that they are not. There are just too many of the same blood-thirsty, want-to-be-feared, type villains.

Edit: I read your post as saying that "robbing someone one the road" while essentially saying "give me some minas or I'll hurt you". Now that I reread your post I understand that this could have gone a few ways and am sorry in advance if I misinterpreted.
