  1. ((the reason you get these ghost towns is because people don't want to spend their precious time on a videogame where you sit in a shop and chat to people))
  2. ((We hope to earn more land for the town and eventually hold a monopoly of the northern wilderness, where once we have built up a substantial force we aim to push the boundaries of our territory south, either demanding tributes from the towns we meet or if they refuse, razing them to the ground. Our town is inherently militant, due to the backgrounds of the leaders, as a result each citizen is required to join the war effort else they are banished, we hope a high battle count will draw in those people who get fed up with running shops and want something more active. Hopefully, this encroaching threat from the north will illicit a response from some of the more powerful towns in the south, creating a welcomly action oriented facet to the relatively peaceful roleplaying that currently occurs.))
  3. VILLAGE CHARTER MC Name: D3LLI5 RP Name: Baerich Bauldrfist Village Name: Cavae Insulae Why is your character starting this village/settlement? What is its purpose? In the lost realm of Aegis, my Father, King Baeron Bauldrfist ‘the Honourable’, conducted his rule of the Reach in the northern most parts of the Wilderlands. There, in the city of the Citadel (of House Bauldrfist), he was honoured by his kin and respected by his foe. With his much-adored wife, Kindrid the Beautiful, he had three sons; my brothers and I. Though he had a pure heart, he proved courageous in battle, and with great success; he slew those who fought against him, and earned the respect of others in the North. In the Citadel, he was renowned for his duty bound oath to the city, which earned him his title. The city was in frequent trade with Winterfell, and was rich with merchants and home to many a great warrior. However, the people grew weary through the harsh winter months, and so the guards were not prepared for the onslaught by the wrath of the Undead. In the innumerable Undead swept through my Father’s lands, destroying the crops of the people. We starved, even the rich amongst us. Some could not afford the rising price of food, so had no choice but to flee. Those of us who remained faced even greater threats. My Father knew that the men were strongest in his presence. And he had refused to cooperate with the enemy, and die peacefully. He was killed brutally, with three flaming arrows through his chest, and a fourth which ended his life. I, unlike him, had no such courage in battle. The throne passed over to me, for I was the oldest of his sons, and I had a tough decision: see my kin die, or flee to the Southern lands. A year before his death, my Father, in his wisdom, ordered for the construction of three magnificent ships - each with the name of each of his sons. I chose to flee, with my people, and we ran, as fast as we could. The seas were brutal, and the gods were crueller still. My youngest brother, Arathel, lost his way. His ship sank into the horizon and no one has seen him since. We are unaware of his death, but he is presumed to have been drowned by the Great Sea. Having arrived in the city of Al’Khazar, we restocked on supplies. My brother and I were mortified at the loss of our friends, and our sibling, for he was a great companion. We travelled to the Monk Sanctuary soon afterwards, my brother and I, on horseback - with our Father’s trusted advisor Nguemo. At the Sanctuary we mourned our brother’s death for four days. There, the Monk, in helping us seek peace in our hearts, told us of the newly discovered realm of Asulon; he advised us to travel there, and seek a new home. His words were wise, and we ventured back as soon as we could to Al’Khazar to re-group with my Father’s people. We travelled, along with the other ships to Asulon. Here, we ventured into the northern Wilderlands once more. Our scouts discovered an archipelago, in the recesses of the North, and named it Cavae Insulae (The Hollow Isles, due to the ground sounding hollow when tapped, as a result of the pumice which formed the islands themselves. This is where we intend to house ourselves, and rebuild our Father’s once great kingdom. What type of political system or leadership is within the village? Presently, with fewer than one-hundred residents (( equivalent/relative to small, real towns )), there is hardly a Kingdom to have a ruling monarch. With the population rather small, and several richer merchants and swordsmen, a new representative counsel has been formed. As I was the King and overlord of the Reach in Aegis, I have been awarded ‘figure Lord’ of the Fist. Despite being Lord, I will be given very little free power by my people. Any decisions must be passed by the counsel first, and will work on the principle of choosing the most popular option - with each of the options being voted for once by each person. With time, the town will expand. First into a city, and then, perhaps, into a great and powerful Kingdom. What sort of behaviour will residents exhibit? (Race relations, nation relations, etc.) All residents of the town will be expected to show respect towards visitors, merchants and travellers-by. We hope for a boom in trade, with an increase in construction and with more and more travellers and people from the realm joining us in our song against the dark of the night. Though the Bauldrfist’s were renowned for their strength and courage in the Reach, I believe that we must open our gates - particularly now as we are searching for more people to join us - and become allied with nearby towns, to aid in trading and wealth of the people. Residents should not be hostile, but welcoming towards other races - though I am aware that some may not be fond of others at present, though bonds can be created. Hopefully, this can help build a town whereby there are many from every race who join our ever increasing family. However, the raids against my Father in the Reach have given me a bitter taste of war, and have caused me damage - both physically (it gave me a great scar on my chest) and mentally (for I now crave the revenge of my Father, against those who persecuted us). Peasants will be given land to sow on the island's farm, merchants to shops or market stalls to profit from, everyone to have access to great architectural houses (designed by my brother), wealth to gain, power to earn, and respect to be given. The town will consist of a neatly-woven community of interdependent traders and warriors. I myself, as a warrior in my Father’s name, will train the town’s military. We will form a fearsome force, deserved of respect, who will be under my and the counsel’s command (though swearing fealty to me, and me alone) - as they will be funding the town guard. We will be entertained with a display of theatre by performers, once in an Elven week, and the military will perform for the people - and my enjoyment - a spectacular show of strength in the Amphitheatre. Where would you prefer the town’s region be? (( As there are no restrictions of building in the Wilderness, and due to the great discovery of this particular island, we (myself and my comrades) have already begun to build up the town, with plans and objectives for the island to expand into a great city. Everything on this island has been built by us - though at the moment there is not too much there. The approximate coordinates for the island is -1000, -4500 - it is the small island there )) ((this map is outdated and a lot has changed, it would be best just to look at this for the shape of the island)) Any other details (architecture, races, culture, etc): Though at the moment the majority of my companions are humans, we hope to grow into a great city in the North. We wish for the Fist to become a strong multi-racial city, with great merchants, even greater warriors, prosperity and wealth for our residents, and perhaps even some warlocks who dare to adventure to the North, seeking new and exciting challenges. As a family, my Father was duty bound towards the Earthen Gods, in following his traditions, he taught us to believe in and honour these gods. Whilst the wealth of the Citadel was good, our people thanked the gods. However, as the city fell, many despaired, and lost trust in the gods. After having prayed to the gods for mercy and protection, and not receiving an answer, the people believed the Earthen Gods had failed them. Due to this, I was also hateful towards the gods for a long time afterwards. Nearing completion of the Fist’s new Citadel, my eldest son, Asbrind, re-leant me towards the praying towards the gods and we have a chapel, now, dedicated to the praising of the Asulonian Gods. Although I am bound to the New Gods, my people are free to praise as they will in the privacy of their own homes, and are free to praise to the great gods in the Fist’s chapel if they wish. The building of our houses is strong, our fortifications and towers stronger still, for my brother, the learned Kesek the Elder, is wise in the knowledge of defence. Whilst in the Reach, my brother had created contraptions and traps (the details of which I am completely unaware of) which saved many a man’s life in the night-raids of the Undead, causing many to fall into the abyss of darkness. He created plans, great and beautiful. (( Please see some screenshots below - both from the LotC Server, and a private one. )) (( I wonder if it is possible to be able to create a ship link from the Monk Sanctuary Port to the island’s Port eventually, once the city has grown - and for possibly an icon over the Fist and perhaps the Keep? And thank you for reading :D )) Some Screenshots of the Island, and current buildings: • The Old Chapel near the Park • Dwemarius’ Iron Forge within the Keep walls • Inside the Throne Room, in the Keep • Exterior of the Throne Room, and sight of the Tower • End of the row of houses, with the Lighthouse in the distance • The (more expensive) houses Players who have agreed to sign this charter (5 name minimum): - Baerich.....(D3LLI5) - Asbrind.....(carlmartin10) - Nguemo......(Wodehouse) - Dwemarius...(tom_the_tank) - Isgalon.....(iTry123) - Wake........(MalusWake) - Larrie......(Malbasarus) - Tharenas....(Binye772) - Kragen......(peskyflea) ((The forum post is a bit hard to understand, but we have enough money if we have to pay for a wilderness charter))
  4. The guild sort of collapsed
  5. ((A few of us may be moving to a different town, we are all GMT so if you are a bit fed up with being the only person online, check the link in my signature. We will remain good allies with The Knights Of The North))
  6. Vote 1/2, remember your place however, a recruit always asks a superior before making an significant decision, save your leadership for when you climb the ranks
  7. Vote 1/2 ((i'm GMT too so I can relay you queries to the other timezones))
  8. Sounds good, vote 1/2, get one more vote and you'll be accepted

  10. ((we used nether rack on the old map))
  11. ((come to our keep and role play a bit with me first to get my vote, bearing in mind nearly everyone in the guild is human and we frequently get attacked by orcs, I think we need a bit more trust before we accept you. ))
  12. I think people want to be able to gather recources in the wilds to bring back to the cities, perhaps increase mob spawn rates in the wilds and make some sort of transport system out to trading posts there
  13. ((vote 1/2)) ((I know this guy IRL and i will vouch for his active-ness))
  14. ((It's a bit hard to read on the grammar front, so i'll have to meet you in game to really make up my mind but for now i'll give you your first vote, get one more and you'll be initiated.))
  15. The village is about ready for people to turn up, we are situated in the very north eastern corner of the Monk Sanctuary land, in a very snowy, tall-tree environment. Send one of us a pigeon if we are online and we will take you there. ((Use /addbuddy D3LLI5 (me) or /addbuddy DBHAShadow (casamir) then /tell D3LLI5 (or DBHAShadow) take me to the village))
