  1. Dwyn carries Quavinir home after their long conversation with Nyn that had continued until Quavinir fell asleep against Dwyn's shoulder. He thinks fondly of the young woman, hoping that their involvement in her life will be a good influence in these trying times.

  2. *crawls out of the woodwork*

In my expirience spawn taverns have always been just a place of meaningless gibbering that could easily be done in the city, but what what it really becomes is a place for people who have no buisness being in a tavern ((example: those hunted, with bounties and such who should, for all RP logic be trying to keep out of the public eye)) to flaunt the fact that they're out in the open. Chat up their cultist friends while a paladin is walking by just twitching to be able to do something about this troublemaker using the 'safe space' But then guess what- They can't do anything about it! Because unless something has changed you arent allowed to follow someone out of the CT to handle them.

I've been in a CT and had someone skim the line of 'no violence in cloud temples because monks willz it' insulting someone up and down but guess what- Can't do jack about it because you're in a place where violence is not rply allowed.

This might be a bit all over the place as its 4am and I should be working on a drawing but I needed to look away for a few minutes and think of something else...

tl:dr; CT taverns become a place for people to act without consequence, in a way that often doesn't make sense in role-play.

What magics do you desire to teach?: Druidism - Communion, Control, Nature's Healing

Summarize the Lore of this Magic:
Druidism is a magic that has been around for ages, involving many different disciplines that all focus on the natural balance. A Druid receives their powers from the Aspects after they’ve been attuned. These disciplines are developed through years of meditation, practice, and in depth training from guides. Although druids are connected to nature, it should be pointed out that they serve it and do not control it (as the guide suggests).Druidism starts with the basic communion and from there you can develop your gifts from the aspects. After communion has started its development, it’ll be developed alongside control of nature. These are the two gifts that every druid will learn. However, communion can be developed through time and meditation, while control must be taught be a guide..

Communion is the basic connection a druid has with nature, strengthened with time and practice. After being attuned all druids can begin to understand the whispers of nature. This works as influence over nature- The stronger you are in communion the more you can ask of nature. When a druid is first attuned, they would only be able feel the pulses of nature with extreme focus but not yet commune with an animal, and if they did it wouldn’t be understandable. With lots of meditation and practice, this skill will develop until eventually a druid can easily understand an animal and truly be one with nature.

Control of nature like the others branches off from Communion, you only get stronger with Control the more you practice but you can never progress farther than your understanding of communion. This means that a stronger druid would be able to influence larger plants or more at once, like a elder druid could move a large tree's root to their aid while a newly attuned druid might struggle with getting a vine to move. This, as said earlier, must be taught by another and developed through years of practice and meditation. It’ll also be the discipline that is used in all other forms of druidism- such as nature’s healing. Control works as requesting and persuade the nature around them to do what they want. It should be remembered though that an animal will never do anything against nature, no matter how strong the druid is.

Natures healing is used to, as the name suggests, heal. This is done differently than a cleric’s healing for the most part, as Druidic Healers do most of their work through plants. They enhance the healing properties already present in plants. They create salves to dampen pain, speed healing, soothe burns. A skilled druidic healer can even draw from energies within themselves to whomever they are healing. This is the most taxing mode of healing and it takes a lot of time and practice for this not to bring a druid to their knees. This form of healing without salves is also extremely dangerous to the druid. Someone learning nature’s healing would start with basic knowledge of herbology and begin to understand how to use the control of nature to enhance the herb’s abilities. As this skill is developed, they would learn how to enhance a salve’s potency without long meditation and even heal without the use of herbs. A small note, although healing will cause the user to become exhausted, it does not use life-force (as stated in the magic guide). Only mana is lifeforce. (emily made me put in the LM joke)

Write up a lesson that your character would give to a student. (Do note, we will be contacting aspiring teachers for a quick interview, to try to better gauge your knowledge and understanding):

Communion And Control (as the two come hand in hand in training)
Dwyn would lead his student to a quiet area to begin the lesson, sitting across from each other and reaching out to the plants around them. After meditating for some time and getting the newer druid comfortable with the area Dwyn would instruct them to commune directly with a nearby tree. Dwyn would guide the tree into stretching its limbs up towards the sky before relaxing back into a neutral position. He instructs the new druid to ask, request, the tree to move in a similar fashion, not to make demands or order the tree to move. The student, newer to communion and control is able to make the tree move albeit slowly and after several attempts.

    Natures Healing
Dwyn would start his lessons in nature's healing with not talking about herbs or healing, but about when to heal. It’s important to remind the student that it can be almost more important to know when to not heal that actually how to. After this is learned, he would get his student familiar with herbs and their medicinal properties. Once the student has studied and gathered some herbs themselves, Dwyn would guide them in making medical salves. The priority of these lessons would be to teach his student how to create salves that help even in situations where using our gifts is unavailable. As well, knowing how to create salves is a foundation for a large portion of Nature’s Healing so not knowing how to create a salve would make the next steps of learning almost impossible or dangerous, as certain plants can be harmful if not treated properly or if too much is used. Once that is understood he would move onto enhancing the plant’s properties with the use of the control of nature- like when we ask a plant to grow faster or taller but instead making its effects more potent.

  5. Having just woken up and heard Emily talk about this...

yeah i gotta agree, the community peeps need to put together stuff other than art competitions where the only effort is them looking at other peoples creations

Maybe next time y'all do something like set up a time to watch a movie in some video sharing thing or something? play a different game together. That LOTC League tournament thing was interesting, except for when non lotcers got included (even though my boyfriend, who HAS played lotc just not in a long time got to play)

Maybe be focused on like some in-character community stuff? World events that everyone can get in on. Like Festivals, not just Doom and gloom. Like we didn't have a event for easter did we? Random fun events can be just as fun.

Get involved in some more of the actual forum work, like helping on feedback or your view stuff. That falls into interacting with the community.

be proactive not reactive when people are upset about things ;)

Like these competitions mostly end up just being ways for the lotc artists to show off and get free stuff

mind you this is coming from an lotc artist aswell

Atleast this time y'all are doing a building section, which is a step in the right direction

  6. Dwyn frowns deeply seeing the notice, rubbing a hand across his face "Damnit, hopefully Quavi can convince these idiots that he isn't a threat." He shakes his head, thinking of the unique man.. a Homunculi with a soul, trying to get rid of the other dangerous Homunculi, if only these people weren't so dense.

  8. I know support written on these things doesn't really sway or change anything with decisions for GM trials but I do believe that Hudson could prove himself to be a asset to the server. I've known him for about two years now and he's become one of my closest friends. He always works hard to make the server better or funner for other people. I'm interested in seeing how he handles being a Trial and if he can prove himself to be a good GM.

As a friend though of course, and a friend of many GM's and even a roommate to a admin, I get to see a lot of the stress that comes with managing this server, and I only hope Hudson can handle it.

I know I'm not allowed to apply for GM on threat of getting smothered in my sleep

    +1

  9. Dwyn would've been making a rounds through Laurehlin when he heard the crackling of the fire. Spotting Art bent over his writing he waits, not wanting to interrupt. As he sees the man finish and subsequently break down the taller elf strides to his friends side, kneeling beside him and resting his hand against his shoulder. He reads over the parchment, just being a silent comfort as he too, begins to reminisce in the past, their shared past in guiding and leading the Mali'ame people. He gives Art's shoulder a squeeze and pulls his old friend close, not sharing words as he understands more than most in their city, spare for Art himself, the struggle the last elven year has been.

  10. Name you wish to go by in the video (irl name, mcname, ect): Dwyn

    Artwork/link to art profile: http://imgur.com/a/XRiiQ

Do you give LoTC permission to use your work in the video? (Yes/No): Yes

Is the work above completely your own? (Yes/No): Yes

Is there anything you’d like us to know about your work? (Name of person, location, ect.): 1. Tamsin 2. Yaehahn and Arveldir Des'Nox 3. Khel Ousanna 4. Leithlan Tresery

  11. Dwyn reads over the letter for a second time, idly stroking his fingers along the Phoenix's warm feathers before reaching down to rub his thumb across the key that came with. He lets out a breath, setting aside the letter to be filed away for later, "Well Miral, I'll get you a proper perch around here somewhere" he says patting the bird lightly as he stands.

The elf is saddened by her departure, but something in him felt this coming, he could feel the whispers of nature around her, pulling her away during her last visit, and after being gone for so long it makes sense that she'd want to return to the city. His sadness is more of a selfish feeling, knowing he won't see her for a long time, but above that is a pride and happiness of having known her for so long, knowing she's following a calling that will more than likely bring her great joy.

He's got his own task now, organizing Elorna's things, figuring out what's of importance, and setting up a meeting with Ouity. He's got a lot of work ahead of himself, as well as meditation and prayer for Elorna's safe travels.

    -:-:-:-:-:-

I don't think I need to spend much time saying how much you've affected me on the server and outside. We've been friends for a few years now, it's odd saying that and realizing how much time has passed with our little circle. I still remember the early days of it being You, Me, and Leo working together in the little hamlet of Leanniel (The correct spelling, no matter what Leo says ;) ) And it'll be sad to see you go.

You've been, and will continue to be a great friend.

  12. Leithlan yawns tiredly, but with great interest watches the proceedings, the firelight flickering in his eyes as he watches each warrior be painted, and then finally- his Maln. Leithlan does not smile, as he understands the seriousness of this ritual, but he feels the pride swell in his chest.

The young mali shivers in the nights cold but still his pitched voice joins the cheering, once the ritual ends though he would make his way home to bed. Dreaming of glory and victory.
