  1. I feel really both ways about Vortex in it's current state.

+ really neat RP circumstances for resource gathering, as opposed to the ways of the past (ct pits).
+ Materials become much more valuable, increasing value of RP items as well, so the economic goons can have fun saturating the market.

    - but most people aren't trying to play runescape.

    - runescape but everywhere outside of the nations is the wilderness.

I can only say "give it time." I don't even think the profession I want for my character is even available yet,

and thats another thing to-- the lack of information. everyone feels so lost, they don't even know if it's appropriate to rp.

There's been a tremendous amount of effort put into the plugin and to say throw it is insanely disrespectful. there's elements that could stay and be expanded, there's elements that NEED to be added, and the change in player-vortex relationship needs to be more compromising from both sides.

edit: also, a lot of items are going to be less than 1 mina, making pricing increasingly more challenging. add an extra 0 to the end of our transactions

  2. Alicjo Verrana sits at a messy desk, handwritten notes under candlelight, reflecting-- brooding on his assessment of the contract. The man peels the reading glasses from behind his ears in a huff, tossing them atop the slew of papers as a hand slides into place over his bearded chin.

    Hmm.

So for any of you who have taken up my events, you know that I don’t do Hard Force PKs.

I tend to, at best so far, perform Soft Pk events, aka if you die you just cannot participate in the plot of it anymore.

But I do think some things are Force PK applicable.

Let’s run this by with a Dungeon Concept idea. High Risk, you get in deep. Let’s say, you encounter a Patron, or Aengul. Something huge. That level of thing, that’s what I see as Force PK-event tier.

    ...

That’s mostly why I asked, I heard you weren’t a character murderer lmao.
But yeah, I’d agree, going as far to say I think death should have consequence (case by case). Like if there was a good amount of RP that lead up to the death, or like you said, your foe is literally Azdromoth, then yeah for the sake of good storytelling you should wanna write them out. Like if ever there was the “meaningful” death people search for, that is the way.

So then do you think Lefkos is gonna die?

  4. Santiago runs a hand through his hair, a man not used to stress on the verge of a breakdown as he sorts through his mail. He sees the lettering of the invitation, spelling out the names of his close friends and almost in an instant, his stresses are alleviated, a warm smile on his face. He sits back in his chair, using a letter opener to carefully dig into the invitation.

  5. “Suppose a formal application wouldn’t hurt.” Alicjo chuckles a bit, hunching over at his desk at the lanterns light to start writing.

    Username: Motherchild

    Character Name: Alicjo Veranna

    Proficiencies/Specialities: Charismatic, Brawling, Marksmanship, Cooking

  6. Out-Of-Character:

    -Minecraft Account Name: Gousby

    -How old are you?: 16

    -Time-Zone/Country of Residence: -5 EST

-Do you have a good grip on the English language/good grammar?: I have a great grasp on the English language and usually uphold proper grammar.

-Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself: Since I'm a high school student, I'm always busy with school work. But once I finish my school work, I game until I can't stop gaming. I usually prefer RP servers of World of Warcraft, but those aren't as creative as Minecraft, so I figured I'd give this a whirl.

-How much time could you be on the server weekly?: At most, and that's if I have no school work, 50 hours? But normally it'll be around 20 - 30 hours a week.

-How long have you played Minecraft?: Since 1.3 was released.

-What do you know about Roleplaying? What is it?: I know roleplaying is taking on the roles and actions of a character, which allows for extensive creativity and possibilities outside of the real world. It doesn't have to be full on hardcore RP. RP could be something as simple as knocking before entering a home.

-What do you expect this server will be like?: I expect it to be high end RPers in a community, forming the lore of future Aegis generations. It'll be a journey the way the users shape it together and individually.

-What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?: I have left the Lodainn RP server. As I loved the people and Lodainn itself, I couldn't play there any longer. After a while, the RP factor disappeared and it was just /g chat about silly things; and pretty soon, they got desperate for members and let anyone on. This entailed greifers and 9 year old kids who thought it was a regular SMP server.

-Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules?: Yes, I have read them thoroughly, and I agree to them.

-Name the 4 races on this server: Orc, Human, Dwarf, Elf

-How did you hear about us?: I heard about you by a member of Lodainn, saying his application was denied to this server.

-What is your The Lord Of Craft forum account name?: Gousby

    In-Character:

    -Character Name: Dofiro

    -What is your Race?: Dwarf

-Biography: It was 6th of The Grand Harvest, 1125 when Dofiro was brought into the world of Aegis. Exactly 14 years after emerging from his chamber of birth, he had began work for his nation; Kal’Urguan. From the get go, Dofiro was a bumbling klutz who couldn't even mine properly; as he broke his pickaxe often or picked an ore out incorrectly, causing it to shatter. Luckily, his overseer of work was his brother, Lucius, a very skilled blacksmith and minter within the Kal’Urguan nation at that time.

"I can't keep protectin' ye lit'le brother. Yer gonna have to carry yer weight!" Lucius said, in a drunken ramble. "I can teach ye me ways lit'le brother." That began Dofiro's training regament. Some nights they slept in the cave of which they were mining. All the hard work paid off; as Dofiro become talented at what he did. When Dofiro finally got the hang of mining ores properly, he was overcome by greed. The urge to continue mining and finding gems was in his blood; as it was the curse of Iblees, that was place on his forefather. Dofiro was not the only one overcome by greed either; his brother too, was cursed with greed. As him and hiss brother ventured deep within a shaft, it became more dangerous

for them to continue down, but Lucius couldn't help himself. "Get back to the forge with our earnings. Let father know of what we got. I gonna keep venturin' on, te see what goods I can find." and with that, Dofiro returned to the surface; not knowingss his brother will never return.

News of his brother's death spread through to the nation of Kal'Urguan; like wildfire in the forest of Malinor. For a full 50 years, Dofiro sulked and grieved over his brother's death. He was closer to his brother than his own birth givers, and anyone else within the nation. He decided to flee Aegis, in hopes of living in tranquility; mining to his hearts desire, to fulfill the curse placed on his ancestors. The Curse of Greed. Only, when he had fleed Aegis, he had no clue as to what he would do, where he would go, or to whom should he speak.

146 years had passed since he had fled Aegis in hopes of tranquility and riches. Only he had not received either. Nightly, he lacked protection from the creatures of Iblees and was always frightened of venturing deep within to mines, ever since the passing of his brother; so the greatest ore he's ever laid eyes upon was iron. Accepting defeat in his journey, Dofiro sobbed. He had not understood why God had treated him so cruely. First his brother and then his luck. His only option was to return to Aegis. Upon Dorfio's arrival in Aegis; he searched for his family and old friends. To no avail could he find them. But alas, he was empathetic and sought to restart his life. To experience the changes and the new world. Maybe things will be different for him. Maybe God will be on his side with his new quest in Aegis.

    -Character Age: 202

-Character Appearance: Dofiro is darker than the common Dwarf. His dark, flourished beard and devoid of color eyes, accent his crisp skin. He is also bald; as its within his genes to have no hair on his head.

-Character Personality: Dofiro is very calm and collected, compared to a common dwarf. He usually tends to stay out of others way. But when faced with interaction; he tends to be thick-skulled and stubborn.

-Your ambitions: Dofiro's ambitions are to basically, carry on his brother's legacy. Dofiro wants to mine ores and sell them to other dwarves and members of the Aegis community, as well as own a successful Forge and blacksmith shop.

-Can your character read or write?: Dofiro is not skilled in literary arts.

-Can your character mine?: Dofiro is very skilled at mining; it is natural within his blood to lust searching for ores and obtaining riches. For him not to be a capable miner is unheard of.

-Are you a capable builder?: Dofiro is an exceptional carpenter.

-Can you wield a sword?: To save his life; maybe. But not normally.

-Enjoy Farming?: Dofiro doesn't enjoy farming at all. He doesn't find much interest in nature.

-Does your character have any special skills?: Dofiro obtains many skills within the field of mining and smithing, but not well enough to call them special.

-Other Information: I made my dwarf brown because I happen to be brown in real life, and I really hope I can keep him this way ._. if I have to change him though, I will.
