  1. Them sexy elf trees tempt me oh so to roll an elf :x
  2. We will also have places for blacksmiths, bakers, and food suppliers (cooking) as any town or city would. Farming in the city would consist of logging, collecting and managing wheat farms, when possible we will have pumpkins and melons, there will be a mushroom supply, we will have a lake and or stream to fish in and also animal farms to manage. If wished, you can also go outside of the town/city to do these things, but we will try to provide it. While the town/city is being constructed there will also be a board in the square offering various jobs such as house building, road and path making, scenery construction, supply gathering, church designer, tool smiths and planners. (The rent will be collected in RL weeks, that way it's somewhat around a MC month ~ to make it seem a little more real, and also to make the schedule easier on players. It's very cheap IMO though so it will be easy to pay it off.) (Be aware that with new rules released yesterday, this may not be an official town or city to start with as it will take much more time. I may just use my plot on the first day and send a bird to people that wish to come take residence to deliver the location of the [town starting off] in game. It will still be ArmàLunà but will not have a charter starting out that way we can get started off as soon as possible the day the map releases.)
  3. So this is going to be a bit hard to explain in the form of a question/s. Donators are entitled to land plots. Example, bedrock gets the 100x100. Let's say the donator uses his/her plot in the wilds, which we would be allowed on the same day the map starts I assume? Now, myself - I'd like to use my plot to start a city. I am aware that I can have the city attacked. If the city gets taken over and destroyed, as a donator, do I have to fight to get it back / rebuild it / or ask for a new place in the wilds to relocate my plot. If I don't officially make a town/city/etc, would my donator plot be safe from everything including any type of war/attack? I'm aware that for non-donators, if their city / plot in the wilds they paid for or got in some other way were destroyed, they would have to save up again and go through everything to start fresh - I assume. Is this the same for donators though, if our plots were attacked or taken over, etc, what do we have to do to regain control over it, or are we even allowed to relocate our plots - Or does the donator plot only count once in the new map, since the new war rules are now in, and if we lose it, it's gone for good - start fresh and save up to get a plot... It's a little confusing as to what we would and wouldn't be allowed depending on what happens.
  4. Thank you, I'm sure you'll enjoy it once it gets a good start :]
  5. So I've made a melon/pumpkin farm that is fully automatic, meaning the dirt doesn't need to be reworked, or replaced - ever ;)

no, like, i mean, keep it in the world folder so you don't need to go into winrar/7-zip to apply it. not a big deal though =D

oh, lol. i think its as compact as it can be.

  6. I'll add you to the list then. If you re-read it, you'll see that the housing will be very cheap compared to regular prices people have been paying (on the "last" map) and such. The different farms there will provide you with many types of work to choose from if you desire, and there will be set locations in the city for shops to sell your goods to. This in turn is another way to boost the city economy by adding money to the residents pockets in an easy way. If you choose to make your job as a worker of a sort inside the city for example, you would be able to pay off your rent within an hour or less, and if you worked that whole week would have much money to do with as you please :] The way you keep selling to the shops in the city is once the owners of the shops establish trade routes to sell goods that they've purchased from "you" then they can sell those and make a profit. Instead of keeping 100% of the profit for personal gain though, a large majority of it will go to funding the shops so players that farm in the city will always have a place to sell to. Hope that makes sense :P
  7. The cheap rent is just a plan for now, as a way to get the whole "economy" thing it revolves around going. If people bought the houses, they wouldn't have as much need to make use of the farms and boost the area, etc. Unless, there were tax on the land of the purchased house, but nodody would really want to pay that over rent I imagine / unless I can figure a way to make sure that home owners are contributing somehow other than just taking up space. It's more of a self-sustain, help your neighbor and pride yourself in building up the place - type of place, rather than a place to say, "Oh yeah one of my houses is there". If enough people end up there, and more possibilities arise to keep everything flowing smooth without the need of the economy plans, I may try to implement some type of bartering system - i.e. you don't pay rent on a house, but in turn you have to do ___ work for the week, or turn in ____ resources of your trade to the city funds. Sounds rough, but it gets the point across lol - A lot will change I'm sure, I want the people that live there to be able to choose a lot of the ways it's ran.
  8. I doubt I'll be chosen to go in, but I'll be there rooting whoever does on! :)
  9. Thank you gentlemen, I'm really looking forward to getting this thing off the ground for people who wish to see it.
  10. It's all good, well it's obvious I support it so I'll leave it open to make it more fair lol. Yeah, I know it might take awhile but it's fine, people switch a lot too however, and even once the new map is released drama will fuel a lot of coming and going's of many people. As mentioned in my last post, if it does take too long however, or I don't get a response from an admin in a decent time with some information, I'll just request this as the bedrock plot in the wilds which is an automatic given, and at worst this will be good advertisement for the City :]
  11. Out-there sort of question Vaq, but for the new implementation of the ability to siege villages, towns and cities (in the wilds I assume) will there be anything customized for when it takes place? Such as a timer or counter, or bar letting players/residents/attackers/defenders know how far or close they are from winning or losing land, etc. I guess the best way I can explain it is if you've played WoW and have to take over plots in certain BG's - will there be anything like that.
  12. It's clearly not the same, as you have to look at the aim/goal of each. Salvus wants to become a nation/kingdom - with certain goals already set and waiting to be accomplished. It might only look the same because it will be starting out the same as any other town/city/nation as far as construction & trade goes. ArmàLunà is aiming to be nothing more than a place to let people live and farm to make money. It will have a small system of 2-3 leaders. This is the only goals we currently have. If nation issues come in the future, then so be it, but it's not planned, therefore is not the same as Salvus. Another thing to point out, is that the Salvus nation/kingdom will be protected. If the admins think it's better to put this place out in the wilds, then it can possibly be a target of siege. Also, if it's deemed better for the wilds, then I don't even need to have the city charter in the first place. People can still come and live in the protection of the donator plot. If siege does become an issue, then it will make for an awesome amount of RP - the dedicated residents will have to defend their city and go to war even though they never wanted to. We can call for help, we can make allies, enemies, and possibly improve the overall RP of the new world. Unless the way siege works changes a bit, nations will be stale as far as that type of RP goes unless they choose to war, which they will not unless they are sure they can win which will take awhile for them to build up that faith. Villages, towns and cities though, will face this danger far faster and without choice. The main reason this charter is here is because they want documentation of protected plots. Also, for the admins to decide what is best once they approve nations and cities, and part of that will be the location. They may put this on protected land which puts siege out of the question, or they may not. If that is the choice they make, then this city will have to deal with paying taxes and possibly facing a merge or being absorbed. *This is all based on the information currently out from the admins, things may/probably will change when the new map is released and even after.
  13. That part was to the current 'king' doesn't matter which, just to RP it into something nice, it's better to make the story instead of just saying "Dear Admins, please approve", give it some depth :P They are going to be an actual nation, asap. It's going to grow into a lot more at a high rate than what this city is aiming to be. This is just a city, with any goal of becoming a nation far, far away. Also, it will be located in the wilds somewhere a distance away from a nation I imagine, when the admins determine the final location if it's approved. If the aim of location was right near a nation, that would be a different story though, and in all honesty I don't want to deal with any possibility of having to be absorbed by one in the future. If they go to war, (probably will), that would be problematic, a peaceful city such as this has no reason to as of now. Just to note as well, some people might not like how any of the human nations are ruled - they know how the past rulers from Aegis ran things, and how the prices were for goods and living expenses. Even more, consider that for any kingdom of any race - Maybe they want something different, or simpler than what The Kingdom of Salvus is aiming to provide in the end. If somehow this city gets accepted, and eventually were up for a nation charter, it wouldn't be for a human-ran nation, most likely, it would be ran in equality by all the races and ruled by one appointed ruler of each race at the same time.
  14. Thank you :) The pictures only serve how well I'd like it to look, our main problem will be dealing with the protection/size constraints. It will be set up though so that continuous growth is possible and will be efficient-friendly. It may be possible if enough people would like to save up and make it into a nation, but that's not expected, if it were to it would be a major surprise although I do have plans for it just in case :P On the pinned topic at the top by Petyr, it has 25 min for the City Charter. Thanks for the support!
  15. Finished applying for a city charter. Many tweaks to still work with though, and I have a lot of planning to do for the actual city.

Good luck! :) There seems to be many very well thought out cities all ready for the new world all ready, the more the better (as long as there is enough people to populate them :P)

  16. Feb 17th - Update: We are adding an extra 100x100 to the already 100x100 sized plot for the city thanks to Sean Bradshaw, blacksmith. Kyra du Mont, wife of Griffith, is also considering adding another 100x100 to ArmaLuna, so feel free to come here looking for work, a change of lifestyle or even trading, we will soon have much to offer. Attention: Full time gardener is needed. Position is filled City Plot Contents: ( Bedrock VIP ) 100x100 ( nearest biome, protected and named by the town unless under nation rule ) Protected down to bedrock Requirements: Accepted City Charter 100,000 Mina in protected land,( free for bedrock donators) No cost for having it in the Wilds. If in a nation territory, ultimately decided upon by the nation leaders / governmental system. Free for Bedrock & subject to taxation in conjunction with a parent nation. ( if any ) MC Name: Sinstrite RP Name: Sin_Sappheiros Note: I will be an Elf in 2.0, but I would like this city to be open to any race as long as they are peaceful. Royal Families, four in the land of Aegis. Their jobs are to watch over the growth of the lands, and to push for absolute law and justice on what is and is not allowed based on their own morals. They govern over the rule and growth of cities that belong to their Kingdoms. As you walk down the cobblestone path after shopping for food in the markets, the wind blows an open scroll your way. You look around from where it might have come from, and see an open window high above in the housing of the Royal Family not far off. You realize that with the collapse of Aegis, everything is slowly crumbling around the lands, and that this scroll might never be read again. Knowing there is no harm, you take a glance. After reading, you rush to make sure this finds a way back into the hands of your King... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ To my great King, from High-Archer Sinstrite City Name: ArmàLunà Why does this deserve to become a city? As an adventurer, I have traveled lands many far and near before my settlement in Aegis, years ago. I've fought in many wars, and have seen the good and the horrible bad this world can offer us all. Something that I've kept a secret to myself though, and that I suspect that the high officials of the Kingdoms of Aegis know however, is that far from this tainted land, lies something greater, something that not even the Undead have laid their filth onto as of yet. With the appearance of the Verge, I realized what was really going on, and that soon, a large movement would be upon us. We may have to sacrifice everything we have ever known, our lifestyles, friends and family - to rid ourselves of this life and grasp hold of a greater life for our future generations. I fear that as a commoner, I am one of the very few that realize this is the way it will be. I love my fellow brothers and sisters in Aegis, be them any race, they are not Undead, therefore I know they have heart and spirit. I want to take this knowledge I have, and prepare to help everyone with it once this movement occurs. My dear King, I ask that you not send guard after me in fear that I spread this secret knowledge, because I shall not. I ask that you grant me enough land to build a city with, the city I have in mind will be ArmàLunà, and it will serve to provide home and work to those that have made the journey and seek it. The city name comes from the will of us to take arms and fight for ourselves, protecting this land from any taint such as what the Undead have sewn into our lives in the past - and from the secret stealth taken in what may be only night movements that let us make this journey without being seen by the evils that plague us. This land needs to be enough for a city or more, you and I both know this - and many will flock to the safety and rewards it provides. What do you see this city growing to become? As a King, you have had dreams of what your own kingdom may be one day. Thriving, peaceful, strong and never-ending. I dream of the same things, even if I am not a King. I dream of this city helping those that have lost everything, to regain all of that and more. I dream of this city giving birth to new children of us that know not the evils that the Undead have dealt us, and that these new generations may one day build up ArmàLunà to be a great nation that any Kingdom would have as an ally. How will your city evolve to adapt to this growth? Given enough land, the city will adapt based on simplicity of layout. Half of the city will be homes and shelter, giving people safe places to live and to keep their goods. The other half of the city will be farms of every type. This is the easiest way to lead a simple life, and it is what people will need to start out. As time passes, and citizens of ArmàLunà establish their own way of life, they will slowly be able to leave if they desire and start their own lives elsewhere, or even their own settlements. This city will remain open to those though, that desire this simple way of life, and want to make money for themselves. Possibly in the future, ArmàLunà may grow into something greater, but it depends on the growth of the people. ArmàLunà will not grow into something the people do not need however, nor will it force the people that reside in it to grow to adapt to the city itself. I wish you the best of the gods mercy as we flee Aegis soon, and I hope that you will consider this city and my ideals in our new land. Farewell. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Other Details: The main goal of ArmàLunà is to provide those of you that wish to reside, homes to live in with chests (that can be locked by donators, or myself if you would like - as far as I know) to store your valuables. Rent will be very cheap, the equivalent of 100-300 minas a week depending on the size of your home. The city will provide every type of farm as fast as they can be established - animals, trees, wheat, cane, pumpkins, melons etc. The city will have designated shops to sell your farmed goods and make money. It will be looked down on if you sell your farmed goods outside of the city shops. We have to make our economy strong. I in turn, with a few handpicked residents will begin trade routes and deals with other places, selling these goods for profit. This profit in turn will be put into keeping the banks flooded with money, thus providing you more chances to make even more by selling more. If this works the way it's planned, ArmàLunà will serve as a great spot for anyone to live safe and make money as well as raise their skills without worry of danger. In the event that ArmàLunà grows beyond expectation, and becomes a major city or even more, I already have plans to make sure it's ruled without corruption. There will for real, be a round table, handpicked by the founder of ArmàLunà in hopes that they can police each other if need be, and run the city without problem. Each person will have a certain job and area of work to focus on. I will only get into this if it becomes necessary. To make sure that RL (my insane job and college) doesn't hurt the RP abilities of leadership in this city, I will handpick two to three individuals to run the city in my absence. Neither individual will overpower the other, this is in order to keep balance. In the event that I decide I can not govern the city or I wish to not play anymore I will hand over leadership to a resident, it may be any - just depends who I see fit. Enchanting Note: All diamonds mined from this plot are to go to crafting enchantment tables. These tables will be distributed evenly in location throughout the city, and provide everyone the ability to enchant items that wishes to do so. Here's what I'm aiming to have the city look like if possible, I may have to scale down the amount of homes. Homes will be in the protected plot, and we will most likely build farms on the outside as to take advantage of having a larger than 100x100 city, while having the important things protected - This is if it's allowed, I'm still 100% unsure of the actual rules of how this will work in 2.0, so this is just in theory for now. I plan to build most of it by myself to make sure it gets finished, anyone that becomes a resident is welcome to help. Edit: Original images converted to actual LotC screenshots since we have now built up a good amount!
