  1. You expect everything to be done in roleplay. Alright, I will ask you a few questions then.

Do you roleplay every time you eat a piece of bread? Or do you hold right click to do so?

Do you roleplay constructing buildings and other things? Or do you right click?

Do you roleplay taking down every single tree or farming? Or do you left/right click.

People need to remember that even though this is a roleplay server, it's still on MC. If you want to RP every single thing, forum roleplays exist for that very reason.

Pleaase, the forum roleplay master race does not desire in game roleplay peasants.

  2. If PVP wins, everyone with poor computers sort of get thrown under the bus. Means we can't play combat characters, which is a real drag for a lot of us. I rarely get any combat roleplay anymore, but when I do, i thoroughly enjoy it. I'd hate for PVP to become the norm, as it would take away from good possible roleplay.

If the person powergames, report them and they'll get a strike or ban, VA revoke, or some other punishment. Or, you know, you can actually take the time to explain to them how they are powergaming and how they can improve.

I am of the opinion that us allowing powergaming to become so prominent in our ban reports is part of the reason we have so many long extensive apps. We used to go through ban reports on the quality and quantity of Roleplay before PvP was initiated, and usually those reports were very quick and easy to get through. Now we have all these reports on powergaming and going through that and making a judgement of that is much much more difficult. Not only do both sides have to explain what happened and why a character can do that, but the Moderator has to listen to two people give detailed accounts on their character's life, history, training, quality of their training, the environment that they fought in, the temperature, the quality of gear, the type of smithing process, swords vs. katana argument, backflipping in armor, speed that a person can run, etc.  And to combat this the server adapted by making magic apps, by magic extensive villain apps, by requiring ridiculous amounts of lore for weapons or certain abilities or fight styles. This led us away from being a fun casual server and into being a hardcore boring bureaucratic server that we've been sitting at for that past 8+ months.

  3. I don't think that the GM's or FM's do a particularly satisfactory job. I disagree with their decisions, and I think the server is imploding on itself because of many overly bureaucratic decisions. Here is more of the bureaucracy that causes new players to reject this server and drives old ones off.

  4. To the public and Gideon of House Silverblade,

The Emperor and the Privy Council hereby summon Gideon ‘Pius’ Silverblade to the Imperial court where he will answer for his various misdemeanours.

The Privy Council of the Holy Oren Empire has placed suspicion and Imperial scrutiny on the individual known by law as GideonPius’ Silverblade for dastardly acts and criminal offences including but not limited to:

    - Illicit selling of crown property

    - Fraud

    - Embezzlement

    - Bearing a title legally not in his possession

It is the opinion of the Privy Council and the legal authority of the Holy Oren Empire that Lord Silverblade has fraudulently sold property within the Imperial capital, Abresi, without the approval of the Imperial Treasury, the Emperor or any other such authority. It is estimated by the Privy Council that the combined sum of this fraud and his other crimes amounts to approximately ~25,000 minas.

In accordance with the following article of Imperial Law:

Book V: Concerning Business Transactions, Article VIII, Concerning Those Who Sell, Or Give Away, The Property Of Others:

Whenever a dispute arises concerning the ownership of property which has been sold or given away: that is to say, if it should be established that anyone has sold or given away what belonged to another, no blame shall attach to the purchaser. But he who has been so bold as to sell or give away the property of another, shall be forced to pay double its value to the owner thereof, shall return the price which he has received to the purchaser, and shall undergo the penalty prescribed by the bill of sale.

In accordance with the quoted article, Lord Silverblade shall be expected to pay fifty thousand (50,000) minas should he be found guilty in a court of law. Twenty-five thousand (25,000) minas in damages, and an additional twenty-five thousand (25,000) in legal reparations. Should he fail to pay this sum at an announcement of guilt by the presiding judge shall result in punishment from the hand of Our Majestic Emperor, or those most trusted in executing his will.

In addition to this, the Imperial Privy Council, acting once again on the authority and will of His Imperial Majesty, declares the title 'King of Holm' to be null, void, and invalid without a corresponding Imperial Edict establishing it as a legal entity. The Privy Council also challenges Lord Gideon of House Silverblade's alleged use of the title 'King of Holm' which is a factitious one not recognized by the Imperial Council as a part of the Holy Oren Empire in the absence of an aforementioned edict.

The Imperial Privy Council urges all members of the peasantry, bourgeoisie, and nobility to report further use of this fraudulent title before the trial, and to not recognize such any such 'Royal' titles not yet established by Imperial Edict.

If Gideon of House Silverblade fails to comply, the use of violent force is warranted and expected, and any acts of fleeing or otherwise evading the Emperor’s justice will be seen as a concession of guilt. Likewise, the act of threatening or coercing the Privy Council into dropping the charges will be marked as Treason Punishable with the removal of all lands and titles, and in most extreme cases death.

As ordered by the Lord High Sheriff,

Count Shas’O Kais of House Ishikawa,

As written and sealed by the Lord Privy Seal,

Count Hadrien Goldman of House de Sarkozy,

As issued by the Lord High Steward,

    Lord Gilneas of House Vivyaen,

In accordance with the authority and command of His Imperial Majesty,

    Emperor Horen V

  6. The sea sat gentle under the mid morning sun. It was without bound or breach for leagues upon leagues. Three weeks they had been at sea already; three weeks of sailing and rationing and rowing. Gilneas was sick of the uneclipsed sun, tired of the unending babble that came from the mouth of his bunk mates, and significantly bored. I never thought I would miss the White Rose as much as I do now. The young man thought dismally as he clung to the rail of the ship dejectedly looking into the azure waters at his reflection.

"I look like ****." He groaned. His face was burnt red; his eyes shallow and weary, and the robes that Tanith had generously tailored for him were stained with sea salt and stone mason vomit. Three weeks without a proper bath had matted his hair beneath his cap, and Captain Dulren's rationing of food had hollowed his cheeks considerably.

"Eh, yer damn right Chaplain." A gruff voice came up from behind him and grasped Gilneas' shoulders tightly. "Now, Oi know tha' this ship is small, an' we be 'avin' considerable interactions between us all, but I don'think tha' talkin' ta yerself is gonna 'elp anythin'."

"I shall take that into consideration Wulvrak." Gilneas sighed and turned his gaze from the water back to he who was both a son of Horen and Urguan. "I thought you were sick?"

The stocky man twisted his firey red mustache with brevity as if he were lost in thought and raised a finger, "Right you are Chaplain, right you are," before plunging himself to the railing and voiding his sickness it the waves.

"Delightful . . . "Gilneas muttered as he stepped from Wulvrak gingerly and made quickly for the forecastle. So long as he avoids doing that in the bunk again there shall be little issue. Three weeks at sea, it had been just over twenty one days stuck on board a ship with dozens of sailors and even more stone masons, lumberjacks, and foremen all bound for this new land to prep it for  the exodus of an entire empire. Designs were struck, the early maps of the land had been poured over for over a year as they planned out the cities and villages to come. Already dozens of ships crammed with builders had made landfall on this new land and begun the construction of their settlements, but with this ship came the men and the plans for a cathedral befitting of a new age of the Church.

He smiled under the grime of ship life and sunburn and thought of the plans he had collected from the Lord High Chancellor Alexander Stolistes. The  cathedral would be great for High Pontiff Lucien, and it would be the start of a new and pronounced and unquestionable Faith. So long as we finish deciphering those Scrolls. Gilneas thought with great irritation at the slow pace of discerning the texts, and truthfully had barely touched the tomes he had brought with him.  "Patience." He sighs with a breath. The reign of the Pereas and Sheffields had done damage unprecedented to the history and collective knowledge of the Sons of Horen, so much had been lost and so many pieces were scattered across Aegis and even more sparingly in Asulon. So much that had caused the strength of man to wane for a century.

    "Westfall."

"Captain Dulren," Gilneas responded plainly as he turned his head to the helm of the ship. The Captain stood stalwart looking out to the sea ahead with unquenchable purpose. The nautical master had gone between Asulon and the Verge a number of times, and to this new land three times and no less. Haggard and salted, but with the resolve of carved stone Dulren stood.

    "I would like a word."

Gilneas obliged without hesitation. He owed nothing to the man and he was not directly under the Captain's command, however he had seen the peak of the man's temper and the treatment sailors who stood against his orders recieved and understood the folly of delievering insult to him.

"Yes, Captain?" Gilneas took his place beside the captain; swaying steadily on the uneven floor below.

Dulren looked him up and down once with his gray eyes before smirking, "Thou art filthy . . . My condolences for being bunked with that blowhard Wulvrak."

Gilneas smirked, "So long as he does not vomit on anything important there shall be no issues."

Only a nod was offered in return. "I am glad to be off that forsaken island. The place is vile."

"I cannot argue. It seems the elves cannot seem to put the concept of "our nation, your nation" into their heads. For such a long lived people they have little wisdom."

"Aye." Dulren replied. "They seem to believe that they should be the ones changing our views and way of life. How much would you wager there is an elf shouting about peace and secularism right this minute?"

Gilneas thought a moment glancing out into the sea. "I am not a gambling man . . . However I would wager that being very likely, and likely rather counter intuitive."

    "More like bloody stupid."

  7. I am with Baronvo. We need to have a serious discussion on economics before 3.0 is launched, and I don't care if it causes us to be in 2.5 for an extra month. The economy of Asulon was wrecked by May. I guarantee that the economy of 3.0 will be wrecked within two months of server launch if we don't look at the economy and what crashes it.

Yes, causing the server to have a finite amount of money that is distributed among nation leaders would make it difficult for shop keepers to pay employees much, which is why it is good! With limited minas the value of a minas is substantially higher than before. That way a person could be paid five minas and have it be considered a lot, but we must also consider that employers back then would often supply housing to their employees and food and meager pay in return for service. It makes things more realistic though, and people will be less obsessed with hunting mobs to become insanely rich.

Using a skill plug-in advantageously, permits and spawns, finite total money, and a international pricing pact would help tremendously with maintaining the economy.

As for mob drops for money: No. It will inevitably crash the economy. In Aegis I hunted mobs until I had 20k and I was in the top 100 on the server in wealth. In Asulon I was able to reach 25k after a few hours spread across several days of hunting mobs. Now multiply that by at least 50 people and we already have a problem.

  8. I support having a finite amount of money total and no mob drops. 5-10 million minas total on the entire server and have it divided up between nation leaders equally would work very well. There would be trickle down and the price of items would be low because the value of the minas would be high. Paying someone 5 minas for work would actually be significant because the minas actually has value. This would also encourage item haggling and not just pure money exchange. There could also be occasional minting of new money as well to simulate a rising and falling economy.

  9. Horen, may your Kin one day explore the seventh skies"

What kind of blessing is this...? What did humans get?

The human's blessing is still cryptic to this day, I guess availer had intended to get airships at some point.

I am actually confused as to how few people understand this blessing. It is heaven. It is a Muslim blessing or something of the sort. I have always equated it as the dwarves, orcs, and elves have immortality on earth, but the Humans have divinity in death and will go to heaven whereas the other races will cease to be after life.

Blessed is He in Whose Hand is the dominion; and He is able to do all things. Who has created death and life that He may test you which of you is best in deed. And He is the Almighty, the Oft-Forgiving; Who has created the seven heavens one above another; you can see no fault in the creation of the Most Gracious.(67:1-3)

He it is Who created for you all that is in the earth. Then turned He to the heaven, and fashioned it as seven heavens. And He is knower of all things.

    Qur'an 2:29

Also to note, Iblees is the Devil in Islam. A lot of the server origin lore shares with Islam.

  10. Which is important information to note, seen as they flaunt their long lives as though it were because they were part elf. A clarification will be required in their own lore as to why the actually live longer than most humans. If they want to believe it is because of their elven blood then they can do so, however there should be a real reason, otherwise good luck living beyond 80.

All humans with elven blood are actually under the control of a witch/demon and we are very close to finding this devil and killing it so that people will actually suffer from the curse they should have, or something.

  11. I have been one for toning down the rp descriptions of violence. I always felt they were unneeded, and I completely disagree that more detail in necessarily better rp. Roleplaying is fitting a role well, just because you can describe bouncing a ball in the most vivid of detail doesn't mean it isn't spam. I understand that some of you guys write violent rp or rp in general well, but as a general rule of thumb "less is more".

If you can write something in less detail and still get a point across usually that is the best way. There is a reason why some authors, even super gritty realistic authors do not go into hyper detail about some things, it slows the pace of a book down, it is unneeded extra detail, and it can just drag on and on. Tolkien is loved even if he is not gritty with his writing, Martin is loved and his violence and sex are actually usually rather toned down and most is described through word of mouth. If you can describe your violence tastefully do it that way.

As for the innuendo rule, that is unneeded for several reasons.

    Point 1. tumblr_lrky8yVzqm1qemly1o1_400.jpg

Innuendo in children's cartoons. That is a reference to watching porn. Spongebob has one about dropping the soap. Animaniacs had one about Fingering Prince.

  12. I am cool with it. Just tell the staff to loosen up a bit, it is a game not a job and they should treat it like a hobby. Too many times I have seen people have a differing opinion from a staff member and be treated as if they were being aggressive and argumentative towards the Admin/GM something I think could be attributed to staff over-stressing what they are doing and feeling like they are being victimized/potentially victimized at every turn.

  13. A cap for the total amount of minas on the server, around 10-50 million minas in the entire server. Add in a small amount of minas for voting. With limited voting the minas actually has value as opposed to Aegis and Asulon and it'll encourage more bartering with goods, and by having a small but steady influx of minas from voting it should keep the economy stable while still encouraging inflation and deflation.

Certain regions being able to grow certain crops while other cannot, and certain regions spawning certain types of animals while others do not. (IE. the orcs have more cows than other races, humans have more sheep.)

I would say that an increase on the amount of time crops take to grow, that being a full ig year, or half a year to echo how long it takes crops to grow irl. In addition to that it encourages people to make larger farms so they can feed people, but there be a longer wait for food to get out so we do not get a bread inflation like we have in Aegis and Asulon (it likely will happen anyways unless we have the suggestion Hiebe had of perishable food).

Make 2.5 amazing! Videos, pictures, livestreams. Make sure it seems awesome and fun for everyone, not a strict 100% lore correct bore fest, but something people will actually have fun with, and once all the transition lore is completed shut down the servers till 3.0. When I say shut down the servers I mean no temp server, no real server. No rp for about a month so that we can finish 3.0 and build hype for it like there was for Aegis. There was an extreme amount of hype for Aegis and no one had even played on it, this time if we say "Server is going down for a month, build hype, vote, watch our videos, and upvote our pictures on reddit," coupled with the word of mouth that our server is already amazing and we will be in good shape with an amazing map. I see no reason why we need to rush after everything that has happened in the past month. Just let everything be relaxed and fun again :)

Also it is finals season so it'd help college students who can't be on as much :(

  14. I definitely support, he is a stand up guy and can use logic when people are being idiots. I also think he has traits more conductive of being a good GM. He is not deadpan serious to the point that this becomes a business and things stop being fun, and decisions start being the be all end all that will determine people's lives. He realizes this is a game, and is able to tell fact from reality so he can make decisions without placing a thousand pounds of emotional weight into it.

He's also a likable guy, good roleplayer, and understand there should be fun in this server not business.
