  1. This is something I agree with, and I fail to see how is Rhia getting GM affecting any one of you. It's not the end of the world people. If this causes so much drama, this one little thing then we have reached rock bottom.Again, no need to stress about it.

i think most are complaining about someone else

If I am to be frank, and it shall be quite frank, but if I must get warned for it then I will take it in stride. The anal gauge of this server is set to 11, people are so up tight it is painful. Every single one of you needs to sit down or go outside, let off a little stress, breath deeply, watch a good movie, or watch a terrible one. Maybe go for a jog, or play tennis. Drink some coffee, stop playing for a week. Then come back and ask yourself "Am I having fun?" and the staff needs to say "Are the players having fun?" and if the answer is "No" you are all in the wrong and doing something poorly.

  2. Do what is fun is a good philosophy. This server forgot what fun is. The GMs and Admins forgot what fun is, the players completely forgot what fun is. This server's fun level is being sapped. I don't personally care that Dusk is Admin, I've heard things that suggests she should not even be a GM, but I've never been effected so I hardly care. Braxis is a nice guy, Rhia is someone I never heard of and frankly I could not care less that she became a GM because it does not effect me in the slightest.

Just have fun. That's what I do and it has worked for over a year while mostly in one of those stressful leadership positions. If you are not having fun leave, because you are spoiling others fun 9 times out of 10.

    JUST

    HAVE

    FUN

  3. Why can't the reasonings be put publicly? We are many who are curious~

It is mostly regarding how some elves in Oren handle themselves. A hefty portion of them are atheistic which is a big no no, or talk illy of our emperor who many of us see in an almost God like position. We have had a hefty portion of elven players insult our emperor, and our religion, and disrespect our nobles, and act self entitled. Not all elves mind you, but most of the time small populations can influence major events. So a population of elves have taken part in a rebellion in Oren, and speaking heresy and treason that has pissed off a large portion of the Orenic Humans.

  4. YES YES YES! This actually makes me happy. This is our opportunity to make the server amazing again, we just need to be careful now. We need two build teams, one of them making islands for us to hop to for the next two or so months, and the other to finish 3.0 and make it amazing.

We need to hype this up like crazy because without a map we will have much more opportunity to work on 3.0 just like how it was before Aegis. The hype was important, we just need to work with this now. Use reddit and post screenshots of our map on r/minecraft and r/imaginarylandscapes, makes sure there are links to the server to prepare people to join in. We really need to do this right, but we can make this amazing

  5. MC Name: clayman730

Human Concepts:(Screenshots please)I am not particularly good at building, I can replicate to a decent degree but it takes awhile, but I am pretty good at planning and adding nice little touches to areas so I wouldn't mind being the nature decorator or the guy laying out roads or areas for ruins.

Other works: Not particularly, just location replication. I also suggest Electrcwizard be made a member of the build team.

Do you have team-speak?:(Microphone not required.) Yes

  6. I really hate how almost no villain gets accepted unless they are some cannibalistic, sadistic, sociopathic villain. We replaced cookie cutter villains with over used hyper villain cliches. I absolutely abhor these "I am a unique buttefly villain! I have emotional problems and am soooo stoic and disturbing HEHE!" I want bandits back, I want muggers back, I want petty thieves back. Asulon killed interesting road rp and I want it back damn it!

  7. It's 'virtually unplayable' to you only because you stuffy old timers refuse to do anything but nostalg'it up about Aegis and how great it was, though I highly doubt there ever was a time when people weren't whining about every little thing the admins did.

As a member of the Asulon-born clan, I find the server VERY playable, and moreover, VERY amazing. In fact, I have yet to find a better roleplay server. So I trust in the admins, and maybe more of the older players should try doing that too.

I haven't been a firm believer in how awesome Aegis was until we had the temporary dream server, but I will say that things ran much much smoother back in Aegis.

As for the whole no money situation, I cannot say I am surprised. I knew the money would be wiped for 3.0 since our economy is so bad (but who is to say having money to start wouldn't work) I just didn't think it'd happen so early before the transition (which I assume will begin at the end of November and persist till the Christmas season or January to make our stay in Asulon 1 full year. It really does hamper rp a lot however since no one has money.

  8. ((I said it was OOC if you read. On more than one occasion I've heard someone on TS boast Their character has 'Undead Blood'))

((It is a technicality, Godfrey is descended from Atriana Tarus and Gabriel Hightower from before she was turned undead. So saying he has undead blood is saying that he has the blood of a person who turned undead within him.))

  9. Bandit fest?, in that you are extremely wrong. In all my time in aegis I got robbed once, thinking that I was most of the time wandering around the kings road visiting taverns and inns, I don't remember having many bandits, I think you are exaggerating it so we get this type of soulstones. And how the hell is a bandit group going to capture a kings castle?, if the purge didn't even capture the town of galahar. Bandits are less liked yes, but with more soulstones we are avoiding them and probably destroying their roleplay, and if you get robbed by one, it's roleplay, defend yourself I don't know, deal with it somehow.

Agreed I almost never saw a single bandit, let alone bandit guilds.

  10. The Aegis system centralized RP the best. Give everyone a base soulstone location as the capital of their race, or at least the metropolitan area for that race just like in Aegis. It encourages people to roleplay in that location, and it centralizes a race's roleplay just like in Aegis. Remember how every human town had a direct road back to Al'Khazar? We don't have that in Asulon, the roads are ridiculous and everywhere now and the odds of bumping into someone is slim to none. If you have not donated your soul is locked to the race metro city, if you have donated $25 you can choose to move your soulstone location, and if you donate $50 you get 2 soulstone locations of your choice. No more because it can cause issues. Do not give soulstone locations of a person's choice to a non-donator, I don't care if it is not fair for people who can't donate, tough luck maybe some day you will, but our server needs money and our roads need to be more traveled.

I want inns and small towns between metro areas to be active again. Now everyone can teleport between areas with no consequences, bandits can't thrive, road/travel rp can't thrive, tavern rp can't thrive. It is boring! Most of my great rp experiences in Aegis started in an Inn or on the road. I am also for removing all fast travel accept boats. The horse system works for Asulon because it is massive, but 3.0 is not going to be nearly as large so remove the horses. They take away rp that could be had by instantly teleporting people to a location without there being a delay. My suggestion (though no one will likely see it) is that boat fast travel remains, however it is on a half hour delay and only for long distances. When you are in a town with a boat you get an automated message

*You hear a young boy yelling that the boat to Elftown is casting off in 20 minutes*

then you go on the boat and you are transported to a boat in the middle of the ocean (an inaccessible area outside the general map) and you remain there for a few minutes with everyone else who is traveling so there is some boat rp. Then you arrive at your destination.

  11. That's what makes LotC RP better then, say, Massivecraft, or those other light RP servers. We are extremely strict on EVERYTHING, which is waaaaaaay better then this 'Ok here is a big land now go do stuff kthxbai'. And, you must of been in the wrong places in those last few weeks of LotC.

Wait is Massivecraft fun? If it is as fun as the temporary server and still has quality roleplayers I might consider it.

  12. I loved it. It was much more basic, and free, and interesting. I never realized how bored, and how restricted I was in Asulon until we went to the "Dream" and it was jarring. I will be honest, I was pissed off when I came online, it seemed to be a cop out idea (it was) and it was a mess, the spawn was littered with messy below standard builds, and I was no rp killed once. However when I found a group to rp with I actually started to enjoy myself. I played as a ghost of an Old Oren soldier during the time of King Edmund and I was in a fort with an old Oren Lieutenant, and modern Oren knights. We had a fort but we eventually migrated to an area run by Tarus that had a higher concentration of players. Now this wasn't some shitty town, it had a central manor, had some houses, and another fort that my group was buildings. If we had two or three more days the town would have had fifteen houses, a castle, and a wall around it with roads and fountains.

It was interesting and spontaneous and actually entertaining and fun. To be honest if the spawn was cleared after that, and a Temple build and roads going in a certain direction things would begin to fall into place. Governments would form, people would find their ways around, towns and bad builds would be abandoned and destroyed and forced out further into the wilds. Roads would be able to expand in various directions to connect roleplay, and I would assume areas like towns and roads would be regioned and things would become even more organized. The lack of lore explaining the event was also entertaining, and helped people get more into the intrigue of inventing ideas ICly, instead of knowing the lore oocly and knowing you can't explain anything in character because you know it is wrong.

Worst Parts: No roads, shitty builds, bad looking spawn, broken plug-ins galore, no rp killing and stealing.

Best Parts: Spontaneous roleplay, more freedom from the constraints of lore, free building without filling out a number of files, freedom to explore and know you will find something new and unexpected, plots, gathering, so many things.

I honestly feel that the temp server should be an example for the Admins and those building the next map. Regions are necessary, but over regioning is not. I think we saw many of the players who actually managed to find a roleplaying location to be having actual fun for the first time in months (I know I did). Regions are needed to protect beautiful locations, but it should not protect every single thing, because at a point it does become something of a strangulation for fun. I loved being able to cut down a tree myself and gather apples to live, I enjoyed being able to craft a wooden sword again. I restrained myself from building as it would be out of character, and I enjoyed that, I know not everyone would actually abide by that and would make shitty structures, but it is a risk for people to actually have fun again.

Regions need to be put around towns, and on roads, and important locations. For the most part however, there does not need to be regions. Let people build like the did in Aegis (down to a certain Y however) and let the players deal with these crappy builds themselves. Let governments destroy unlicensed buildings, and towns themselves, with their armies instead of it being an ooc matter. That makes it more entertaining. A settlement built in the woods by outlaws is discovered and they have a prolonged conflict with the government who genuinely (ooc, and ic) did not know they were there.

Asulon is a great map, and I enjoyed it immensely, but I do feel that the Dream server was a major throwback to Aegis, and it revealed that there was quite a lot that a player like me forgot they missed about Aegis. I do think Asulon should be an example of what went wrong, not drastically wrong for the server, but it allows us to see where we mis-stepped and correct it. The golden ratio between Dream and Asulon is Aegis, I would contend that the finding the golden ratio between Aegis and Asulon is what needs to be achieved for 3.0 for players old and new to really have fun again.

  13. Stay around here for awhile then maybe. I don't like the idea of someone disappearing from GM-ship after an argument with staff, starting a new server, popping up again and being GM, disappearing again, and then popping up again after they lost confidence with their server. I'd say two months before you should be considered for being a GM again because a great deal of the community feels a bit betrayed by how the Sages handled things, and a great deal of the community has heard of less than savory thing being directed towards us coming in the direction of the ex-Sages and ex-LotC'ers and CD'ers.

  14. I would have to say that of all the candidates I have seen for GM in the past while (I haven't seen any but that is aside the point) Jroy is one of the most impartial. He does a good job at staying fairly neutral, (though I can see him getting annoyed sometimes as we all do) but I do think we would do a top notch job like he has been doing as FM for awhile.

  15. ((Well as owner I give you permission to speed up the war claim and do it whenever and just walk in. Just roleplay it as your characters being impatient with waiting for a ghost town to respond and just move into the houses. If a GM wants proof of any of this they can look at this post. Also Jtringl is the old owner of the land so if there are any locked chests they will probably be his. I am fairly sure he has completely moved out, but I will talk to him and make sure he gives assurances that he does not care about any possessions left behind.))

  16. ((My character allready knows who owns it due to a sign outside of the keep, and knows of you due to a conversation with a citizen in the city west of Somerset, You may misunderstand the Mindset of my people, as they would refuse to be led by someone who lives so far away aside from the Emperor or the Duke and thus would deem the person wanting to lead an unfit ruler. As for taxes, You didn't need it then, so why would you need it now? We may not seek to be independent from Oren, a Dutchy is a seprate matter, as many of my people would deem that dutchy too big to be controlled well (It's about twice the size of an adverage duchy and Somerset's abandoned, giving us evidence for it) , My character is intentionally not sending letters to anyone to retain an aura of mystery around his reasons, but would write back if one came to him first to avoid suspition, but you would have to know of me IC or have seen a Fliar floating around Somerset, Remember, just because we don't want war to happen doesn't mean it won't, Somerset will be reclaimed by the true sons and daughters of the empire, one way or another! We will comply with your rules for now, but Robins are another matter if he randomly comes out of nowhere and starts ordering people around.))

((Alrighty, well you are free to settle it I don't mind. Just be warned that should issue arise there would be conflict. Though my character is a good with dealing with people. As for the size of the duchy the land is used for titles not for people to live unless they want to XD. I personally say you can settle it now, no need to wait.))

  17. ((Just figure out ICly who owns the land. There is a map of Oren that should be widespread that would list the Counties. Somerset County is in the Duchy of Westfall so you would merely have to discover who is the Count of nearby lands and speak to them about who the Count of Somerset is. If you discover in character who the lord is then contact them. I'll tell you it is Robin Drake (deanofantastico) who is the Count of Somerset and Lord of Stingray Bay (the town) but he doesn't use it as his home. If you were to talk to him it'd be wise to ask for lordship of Stingray Bay under his rule. That is the best way to have you in control of the region and be a part of Oren. Mind you if you ruled the town you would still be under the rule of the Count of Somerset who has the right to tax you (but probably won't, at least not harshly) and he is beneath the Duke of Westfall which is the Duchy that the County is in.

So merely find out in character and send a letter to Robin Drake (that is also his forum name) asking to settle and have that land with his guidance.))

((Aldo you can forum pm me so long as it is an rp letter bearing all the proper titles and styles and isn't insulting rply. ))

  18. ((I am the Duke of Westfall and you could always come to me asking about it. I would however prefer to have people move closer in-land than being all the way out in Somerset. You could speak to the Count of Somerset Robin Drake. He has the land by title, but he does not use it because he has a barony closer to the center.))

  19. ( I am going to say this one last time.

Warhawke's are living right outside of Varivik. Seeing an army march towards us would be a little intimidating plus the fact that we heard rumors of oren attacking us when we lived in Auvergne was the reason we left. Possibly seeing a full group of armored, oren soldiers not only confirms our suspicion RP'ly.

We have no ties to Varivik nor any other nation state. So when you come to war claim just skip by our walls and you can go where ever else you please.

And no one is insulting anyone? You seem to be blowing this up more then it needs to be. Mirtok, Ricky, Me, Mogroka, Gaius and Relgard were just asking questions and trying to get some full stories? Is that really so hard to ask? Do we need someone to come in here and claim we are insulting people and making them equivalents of meth heads? No. I would really appreciate it if you stop claiming we are butt hurt or being bullied. The truth is. We dont care what happens to levanthus. AS I know Koto OOC'ly and somewhat IC'ly I just wanted some insight on what was going to happen/what if happening.

    No one insulted anyone here.

Once more I would like to see about getting Gaius to review the war claim as this is an oren attack and I would feel much more confortable with his judgment. He would be coming from a non biased point of view.

Thank you for giving us a little more insight on why you were attacking us. Even though it was for false reasons. lol )

Is Vavirik within the red square of the warclaimed area?

  20. I see. Well that just makes quite a bit of sense now. It's all been brought into perspective. A tribe that consists of elves and a dwarf is being attacked for being a disgrace to the human race. Makes perfect sense. Since Elves = Humans and Dwarves = Humans. If anything, we're an insult to the Elven race.

I don't know any of this in character. All I know in character is that Levanthus is a tribal collective of mostly humans. So my ignorant characters believes all people from Levanthus are primarily humans and primitive therefore a disgrace therefore worthy of being mocked. I assume you are from Sanctum. We aren't attacking Sanctum. Sanctum is in the warclaimed area as a formality as part of the region we are resecuring. We are not sieging Sanctum, nor do we have plans to siege Sanctum unless Sanctum decides the securing of the borders by Imperial command is not your cup of tea. In that case Sanctum will be attacked.

This warclaim is honestly just a formality telling everyone what is happening. The people involved are not looking for PVP. Warclaims have been done in rp manners before and this is an rp situation in which an rp group is using military strength to subdue a region and reaffirm Orenic control over it. Now military strength is not just violence it is also shock and awe. THEY ARE MARCHING INTO THE REGION (SHOCK AND AWE) WITH A FORMAL DECLARATION OF THE REGION THEY WISH TO RESECURE. ANYONE LOYAL TO OREN IS PERFECTLY SAFE, ALL THEY NEED TO DO IS NOT ACT LIKE THEY ARE AGGRESSIVE TOWARD THE MILITARY FORCE OF OREN. YOU LIVE ON A BORDER WITH A FOREIGN NATION AND THE BORDER IS INSECURE THEREFORE IT WOULD NOT BE ALIEN TO PRESUME THAT THE MEN WHO LIVE ON THE BORDER MAY NOT HOLD THEIR LOYALTY TO THE CROWN AS STRONGLY AS OTHERS, SO SHOWING ARMS TO THESE MEN WOULD BE COMPLETELY IDIOTIC AND DETRIMENTAL TO LOGICAL RP AS A LOYAL MEMBER OF OREN.

Also the Warhawkes are not being targeted at all. I have no idea why they keep popping up. Never heard of them.

I've seen enough wars to know that, 90% of the time, people in the warclaimed area are going to eithet hide, or be pvped. ALL it's going to take to start PvP is ONE confused person, or troll. People who go to a warclaim expect PvP, and with a mindset like that, will turn something that could hardly be considered provocation if exaggerated into a reason to run in clicking.

It makes perfect sense for Sanctum to be removed from the plans because I RP'ed sending him a letter stating the land was under imperial control. If you want to sure we're loyal as you pass through, great! I just shouldn't have to explain how illogical it is to do your little uniform inspection day while everyone in your army just wants to go find somebody to click.

No one has the mindset of pvping during this. People need to stop saying people are only in it to kill with MC mechanics as if it is some insult. I feel like you guys are inadvertently calling people who use pvp or the threat of pvp as meat heads and jocks (as if we don't play on the nerdiest game medium possible) Sanctum is in the plans because it is on the border that needs securing. They march in, you don't attack them, and you clarify you are with Oren and loyal to Oren and NOTHING HAPPENS.

Please please guys, I implore you to stop thinking Mirtok is just going to run in and slaughter you guys. The warclaim is formality, at least for the beginning of a war. This is not a battle really. This is placing men where they need to be for a possible war. This is men walking into land that is Oren's on paper but is unsure in practice and are reaffirming this loyalty. This is men marching through asking "Are you loyal to Oren." "Yes we are sir." "Very well we will be on our way." then going off to build their frontier fort.

STOP ACTING LIKE VICTIMS OF BULLYING, STOP TRYING TO ACCUSE PEOPLE OF BEING THE EQUIVALENT OF MEATHEADS. Let roleplay be roleplay, stop looking to be the victims, and stop assuming the absolute worst of people and the absolute worst possible outcome, and stop thinking people need to act like Gary Stus' in character when they are doing something ignorant and aggressive for seemingly no reason.

  21. Oren does not like Levanthus. We believe they are primitives. They live in tents, or have costumes that are odd to us. We view them as inferior or primitive. We do not need to confirm our suspicions of our superiority. We know them. We play as characters in a world, and as Oren has been getting fleshed out so too have our characters when it comes to fitting into this world. Our characters are ignorant, and aggressive. They are dutiful to their superiors and rude to those they believe beneath them. They cannot travel nearly as much as people in this server tend to, and they do not travel far from the beaten path to test stereotypes. Mirtok is or is going to be the Grand Marshall of Oren. He is the brawn of Oren, he is not the brains. If he is told to invade, he will invade, if he is told to be diplomatic he will, but for the most part he is not making these decisions. We have people judging the borders, we have spies judging the people, we have officials talking to each other, we have lords discussing matters of expansion and economics. These men eventually will lead to High Authority figures in Oren deciding that the land just north of Seventis is to be taken. Mirtok is ignorant to reasoning, he is not ignorant to politics and diplomacy, thus is why he will not show up in the land just killing people. He WILL roleplay seeing as he is among the best roleplayers on this server.

As for logical reasoning. We do not like Levanthus. They are a mockery of humanity in the eyes of Oren. The look primitive to us and we hate how the other races might judge humanity based of a skewed view of Levanthus. REMEMBER THIS IS OUR CHARACTERS NOT US. I personally find the cultures of Levanthus to be quite nice, and they are not primitive, but I am not my character. We are not all understanding lovey dovey fellows he will look on any culture and find the pros. Now any reasoning to take Levanthus is a good reasoning. Lies, especially in politics, have a snowball effect. Godfrey might want Levanthus and have all humans under one banner, or maybe he just wants to beat them up and make them know who their superiors are. Mirtok doesn't need to know the reasonings he just needs to know where to go, and stop calling Mirtok hungry for land. HE HAS HANSETI, HE ROLEPLAYS WELL, AND HE DOES NOT KEEP THE LAND HE IS MERELY DOING HIS ROLEPLAY JOB TO MAKE ROLEPLAY TENSION AND MAKE ROLEPLAY CONFLICT WHILE ROLEPLAYING THE ROLE IN WHICH HE IS THE HEAD OF MILITARY OF THE ROLEPLAY NATION OF OREN.

As for us not attacking Orcs for being primitive. Orcs are orcs, humans are humans. We don't like orcs in particular. We have some respect for their culture, for their usefulness, and for their warriors, but other than that we hate them. We think they are primitives and stupid and ugly abominations, but we would never severe an alliance with then because of that. Now Levanthus is a mostly human collective that is independent of the crown of Oren that lives in a lifestyle (As we see it) similar to that of Orcs (Which we find incredible distasteful) therefore we would like to rectify it or mock it which would be less detrimental to us then if we did it to Orcs.
