  1. Glyn Bedevere

    Young_Warrior_by_aautio.jpg

    Basic Information

    Nicknames: Glyn, "the Fox"

    Age: 25

    Gender: Male

    Race: Adunian

    Status: Alive and well

    Description

Height: Glyn stands 6 feet tall, making him rather average-short among Adunian men.

    Weight: 180 lbs

Body Type: He's a long legged man, like most Adunian men are. He could be considered lanky, but not skin-and-bones. Glyn looks very young; an effect of being Adunian. He's often teased for his lack of facial hair and boyish appearance.

    Eyes: Dark to light green.

Hair: Light brown, a hint of auburn to it. His hair would be considered by most to be fine and sought after, his locks being shiny, full, and nearly reaching his shoulders.

Skin: Glyn has smooth, fair skin.

Markings/Tattoos: A diamond shaped scar on rests on his right thigh where an arrow pierced him during a training exercise. His hands and knuckles would have various scars dotting them, both from swordplay and from his most beloved hobby: carpentry.

Health: Good and strong, a gift that comes from bearing Adunian blood.

Personality: Most who meet him would consider Glyn a kind fellow, as he oft laughs, smiles, and shares jokes and stories. He's an optimist and tries hard to be a light amidst dark situations. He is usually quiet around those he isn't well acquainted with, but his recent promotion to Captain of the Hiraeth Town Guard has called for him to be more vocal - especially when it comes to recruiting men. Glyn has a tendency to speak his mind, even when it is inappropriate to do so. If he feels insulted, he will strive to lash back with words, and lash back harder than he was hit. It is a flaw that has nearly gotten him killed more than once.

Despite being blessed with what one would call a charming appearance, Glyn struggles growing close to women. The issue stems from his lack of a close knit family during his childhood and teenage years, and it has caused him to have trouble consistently having feelings  for and to nurture a relationship with a woman.

Inventory: More often than not, Glyn will be wearing his uniform: Iron boots, an iron pauldron to cover his shoulders, along with iron gauntlets, chainmail, and a tunic to cover it all. The tunic, a deep shade of blue (some might argue purple), bears the symbol of Elendil - a bear claw . As Captain of the Guard, his sigil is gold, while the rest of the guards' sigils are a royal blue.

Glyn carries with him a steel one-handed sword. It is of simple appearance, with no engravings or special markings, but is very special to him. Its grip is wrapped with leather that is worn and scratched from his gauntlets and consistent use. He will usually have a steel dagger tucked safely into his boot which he uses for self defense and more importantly: whittling. A simple circular shield hangs on his back.

Also in Glyn's inventory would be a simple leather string necklace with a bear tooth tied to it. This, in the Old Faith, is a symbol of a soldier, or one who keeps the law. He took it from the body of a great black bear that attacked the village of Hiraeth in the Amber Cold of 1515.

Glyn keeps a coin purse tucked away at all times. He's never struggled with money and has learned that it's always useful to have some coin handy when in a tight spot.

Further Details: Glyn is a very handsome man with luscious locks, a white smile and straight teeth, and a well structured face. He is attractive in a young, youthful sort of way.

    Life Style

    Alignment: Neutral Good

    Deity: Morighaen, the Night Woman

    Religion: The Old Faith

Alliance/Nation/Home: Glyn's loyalty lies with the Adunian people of the town of Hiraeth led by Josiah Byrn-Elendil. They are currently subjects under the Dwarves.

Job/Class: Glyn serves as current Captain of the Hiraeth Town Guard, a mainly defensive force meant to protect the citizens of Hiraeth and to uphold the safety of the island Hiraeth resides on.

Title(s): Captain Glyn Bedevere, Glyn the Bold, Glyn the Fox

Profession(s): Glyn is also an experienced carpenter. Most of the chairs, beds, and tables in Hiraeth were made by his hand. Glyn will carve a 'GB' into a more discreet part of one of his works to signify that it was made by him. He is also one of the chief builders of Hiraeth. He built the Bear's Head Tavern.

Special Skill(s): From his years living with the Elves, Glyn has learned several medical tips and tricks that have saved his own life and others. He's got a healthy knowledge of herbs and their uses.

Flaw(s): Glyn is cursed with a smart mouth. His biggest flaw is his inexperience in leadership - serving as the guard captain leaves him utterly nerve wracked, as he does not feel up to the task. This may result in him making bold, unwise choices to prove his strength, which could cost him his own life if not his mens'.

    Magic

    Current Status: Non-magic.

    Arch-type: None.

    Sub-Type: None.

    Rank: None.

Weakness(es): He has a subtle fear of fire based magic.

    Strength(s): None.

    Current Spell(s): None.

    Weaponry

Fighting Style: Glyn tries to relate his fighting style to a fox: playful, sneaky, and clever. He's a quick fighter who can and has held his own in duels with Orenian nobles and soldiers. Preferring to be on the defensive til he has an idea of how the person he is fighting really is fighting, Glyn starts off his fights conservatively and then goes on the offensive when they grow weary.

Trained WeaponSteel sword and shield, longbow, dagger.

Favored Weapon: Steel sword and shield.

Archery: When it comes to the bow, this is  probably Glyn's weakest form of combat. It usually takes him a few shots to hit a still target, let alone a moving one.

  2. Glyn Bedevere hears news of the Victor's death from a town crier. It was a name he'd heard before, but a man he'd never met. With a bow of his head, the Adunian pays his respects to the Crow and then makes his way off.

    (Awesome song choice, man.)

  3. Disclaimer: I'm 2 white to make gangster rap. BUT, sup ladies. I make music on my free time. Might not be your cup of tea, but I'm trying to get it heard by whoever will listen! Check it out if you're cool, here's an original I made quite recently (upbeat and kinda inda rock-y)

This here's an older original (synthy and slow)

And here's a cover I did of Don't Lie by Vampire Weekend (real good song, check out the original)

All of these were recorded via GarageBand on my iPhone. The singing is all me, the guitar is all me, the piano is all me, in one song I used a few synths, but hey, it's all me broskiiis. Anyways, hope you guys enjoy, if not, oops!

  4. Days pass and news of the High Pontiff's sermon travel to other lands. Glyn Bedevere, hammering away at a few plywood boards in Hiraeth, overhears a Dwarf speaking of what happened. Glyn's weary hand, tired from the constant stress of building for several hours, is suddenly made strong again. A smile lights his face, a fire burns in his chest. "As long as good men like that stay in power, this world will stay peaceful," he thinks to himself. At that, he continues nailing up boards, now whistling a merry tune.

  5. A harsh, cold wind howled, breaking the dark silence through the icy island to the east of the Dwarf lands. Pine trees seemed to shiver as the wind tore through their boughs, ice gathering on their trunks. It was a particularly chilly night, accompanied with a storm. Through the darkness, a man wrapped in furs and jackets trudged on slowly.

Glyn Bedevere, an Adunian, made his way out from the forests, marching grudgingly through the drafts of snow that were coming down from this hellish storm. Cold to the bone, despite all of his furs, he shivered, moving past the treeline. Squinting, he peered outward. Nothing but white, all white - except... There it was, he could see the dark outline of the sea to the west. It gave him a spark of hope, as he knew he could escape from this frozen land. He moved quicker, now in a jog, towards his boat.

As he neared the sea, he could hear the crashing waves, this storm had unsettled the ocean. Still, he had to get back to the Adunian camp. It took him a while, but he found his rowboat. Struggling, he pushed it outwards into the water, sliding it through a few feet of mud. Quickly he leaped in, grabbing a wooden oar. With a few strokes, he struggled to make it through a few feet of the water. Much to his discontent, he could feel the boat moving out of his control, his fate left to the tempest.

Shouting curses and rowing, he felt his boat spinning... The snow was bitter, thin, and freezing and stung his face. Yelling in frustration, he closed his eyes and muttered a prayer. When he opened them again, he saw that he was a way off shore. The rocky beach was a hundred or so feet out, and he could barely see anything... Just white. Only white. Except... A massive black shape was out there, broad and bold. The falling snow made it hard to see, but it was there. A great black shape, moving. Glyn's ears perked as the wind whistled on, though now it was accompanied by a strange sound... A cracking noise? It was hard to tell. Maybe a shout? A... No, it was a roar.

Now, he could see nothing. Nothing but the snow.

The island was not as empty as he thought it was. By the time Glyn had made it back to the Dwarven lands, he was silenced with deep thought. This island the Adunians were to call home... What beast lived on it?

OOC: This is gonna be an ongoing story/event line for the Adunians, if you're part of us keep an eye on it! Hopefully it's an enjoyable read.
