  1. Was told to change my definition of Meta and Power-gaming when it comes to the server and its rule-set; then re-post within 48 hours. Out-Of-Character: Minecraft Account Name: Lancer_Vance Did you attend minecon and sign up at the LOTC booth?: No, wasn't able to make it due to work. How old are you?: 24 - 09/16/87 Time-Zone/Country of Residence: -5 GMT/Virginia, US Do you have a good grip on the English language/good grammar?: Yes I do. Born and raised in the US of A. Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself: I am 6'5" tall, 130 lbs. Still going to college, nearly done though finally. I go to NOVA Community College of Annandale VA. How much time could you be on the server weekly?: Tuesday-Friday Nights, also Saturday (possibly all day). What do you know about Roleplaying? What is it?: Roleplaying for me is something I grew up with, it allowed me to not be me, to live a life in a character of my choosing and my upbringing. Usually in Dungeons and Dragons, which I grew up playing with friends, I was always a Dwarf, sometimes a Halfling. Almost always a Barbarian or Fighter. I enjoy RPing as such very much. Ironic I guess that I was always a dwarf or halfling when I'm actually 6'5" in life. Being tall isn't all its cut out to be. In your own Words, describe what Metagaming and Powergaming are. Metagaming is using outside resources (or OOC resources) to your characters advantage. In terms of LotC; If you are told where a battleground is OOC, and your character then moves there directly, then that is essentially cheating. Your character should have to at LEAST get directions by way of a map or another character, or follow a battle-group to the battleground so you show up as an army, or short attack raid. An example of Powergaming in LotC would be that of 2 people going at a roleplay moment where nether side wins or loses. An Orc and a Dwarf are battling it out..the dwarf starts with Dwarf:*swings axe and cleaves at the orc* Orc:*avoids axe and tackles dwarf to the ground* Dwarf: *avoids the tackle and cuts the orc down* Orc:*the orc misses the second swing and kills the dwarf* And is usually followed by arguing in/out of character. In D&D this would be an automatic death of the character(s) and you'd have to re-roll another one. What do you expect this server will be like?: I expect this server to go above what I'm used to. I've had my experiences expand greatly when I watch others build and explore, ideas pop into my head regularly and I just begin building. Also while I ran PV (pixelville) I wasn't able to do much RP because we were mainly a survival server with alternative creative worlds, the people didn't seem to like to RP much. I would like this server to fulfill my RP needs. I also hope it will be enjoyable since I don't have much time to play D&D anymore either. What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?: My first ever server was Pixelville, it was the only one I ever went on, great people, great staff. One day the owner just up and quit. It had only been a month. And in that month I had gone from member to owner. Yea..sounds bad..but with help I kept the server up for a year. Recently however, unfortunetly; a series of hackers and ddos'ers decided to destroy the server..it is no more as of now. I have also visited a few other servers, including Lyoko, Legends Factions RP, and the Yogiverse. I didn't stay long on those because I had to run Pixelville. Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules?: I read the rules, I understand them, and I do agree with them. How did you hear about us?: When I ran the server Pixelville, I would sometimes see people talking about other servers, they said that this one was great for straight out Roleplay. I've also seen the server pretty high on minestatus. Have you voted for the Lord of the Craft on Minestatus? Which vote number were you? Yes, 84 and #1430 today! What is your The Lord Of Craft forum account name?: Lancer_Vance In-Character: Character Name: Boindil of the Flying Axes Clan What is your Race?: Dwarf Biography(This should include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.): Boindil was born into a noble family of the Flying Axes clan. He is unsure where he was born, only that he was evacuated before the town came under attack by an Orc war-party; the only thing he knows is that it was built into the side of a mountain.. He never met his father, Uhnfred the Battleken, a great Axeman, killed in the battle to save his home. He grew up day in and day out getting into fights, working at the smithy, and working down in the mines. At age 32 he received a scar for fighting another clans' warrior over a girl. His hobbies include mining on his own, and drinking at the local tavern. Even though dwarves are not keen on using bows, he enjoys the sport on seeing who can fire farther at stationary and moving targets. Beyond his 40th year, he joined a raid party to stave off the Orcs from towns such as his when he was born; winning some, losing others. Currently he is 138, middle-aged, battle-worn, but he shall never falter. He wields dual axes of that same mineral he found all those years ago. Boindil is a dark grey haired 3'6" Dwarf, with light blue eyes. He is good mannered but always on edge when around unfamiliar territory and beings as pointy ears and orcs. Your characters ambitions: to become a great architect, to explore far and wide, and to destroy those filthy orcs, and their conspirator's. He will overcome quests big and small to achieve his goals, whatever they may be. Out in the Wilds, your character comes across a small cottage. Outside, there appears to be an elf struggling combat with two bandits. What does your character do? I think to myself.."do I help the pointy ears...or wait until hes battered, then help, kill the bandits and then kill the pointy ear'ed elf and take his stuff"...hmm..*Charges off to battle either way* Your character walks up to a shop in the middle of Al'Khazar. "Hello, my good sir!" says the shop owner. "What may I help you with today?" How does your character answer? Hello human, I would like to buy some wares, and I would like to know where a great tavern is, I am looking for work and in need of a hot meal, and a belly full of drink. A screenshot of your skin: Other Information: ((I do have Admin experience, Incase you are needing or looking into any new staff. Also this is a link to my photobucket in which shows some of my builds over the course of my Minecraft year 1/2.)) http://s296.photobucket.com/albums/mm199/Lancer_Vance/My%20Builds/

Metagaming is using outside resources to fuel your gameplay, I like to come up with my own stuff in that reguard, I don't need real world applications for when I roleplay. Powergaming in roleplaying is stupid, people go after certain skills or traits more so than unused ones. I prefer to get mining up, while also allowing room to grow in other fields. I can't be an expert axeman and fail at archery (or I guess I could fail at archery, us dwarves aren't keen on using bows..) I would need that in certain instances., otherwise..how would I defeat the enemy or defend a barricade from afar? 4. ((Back to the topic at hand. If your coming up with dwarven language for the server as a main, then count me in, I bet I could come up with a few words, after I look at the other languages as well and make sure I don't take anything thats already taken.))
  5. ((I know you said no more apps, but I wanted to post this here before I forgot, I've looked at the other Guilds and this is the one I prefer.)) I will want to be part of this here Guild. I am a fine builder, in many aspects.. Thank you for your time.)) ~ Lancer_Vance aka Boindil

  7. ((I honestly have gotten used to the Dwarven Language from certain books. i.e. The Dwarves books by Markus Heitz. Also the Dwarven words from the Eragon series of books. Quite interesting indeed.)) ((For example: What do you want Dragon Rider? Hert is joc frekk jurgencarmeitder? like that..))
