What is it?: Roleplaying means to assume a predefined character's role while following a fictioned story. In terms of Gaming, this is performed for the sake of fun. Most roleplaying set-ups take place in a medieval earth-like context based upon european folklore's archetypes. I personally love those over any sci-fi or modern roleplaying. In your own Words, describe what Metagaming and Powergaming are. Whithin the context of a given game, it's metagame would be how players play it, wich may in fact be different of the way it was designed to be played. May refer to the practice of specific strategies and behaviors in the game, but also oustide the game itself. I might not be a powergamer as i've had to google that concept. It apparently means an obsessive behavior form gamers that results in exploiting the game's mechanics despite the loss of fun. In an RPG context it means a player who wants to play an overpowered character instead of just a normal one. What do you expect this server will be like?: I expect to find a living world with communities, wars, feuds, great works, fantasy and fun! What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?: I have played at shadowraze, but not for a long time. I'm a kind of newbie to the minecraft multiplayer. What is your The Lord Of Craft forum account name?: Corchopan In-Character: Character Name: Corch What is your Race?: Dwarf Biography: (updated) Corch the dwarf is 240 years old. He was born in a cave. His parents were part of a nomad mining clan. One of those little dwarf clans few travellers know about. Since his beard started growing he was sent to the mines, but he never really enjoyed the dangers of the deep. What he really liked was to be part of the works that took place in the upper levels. He always felt his soul was made to work the cobble, and so he tried to get building jobs instead of mining ones. That led him to acquire a fair knowledge in construction and architecture, being responsible of minor works such as temporal settlements in caves and mine entrances. Some of the fisrt things his memory can recall are the stories his mother once told him. Stories about the wild and the orcs and the importance of the community to survive. But the ones he liked the most were those about the ancient dwarf city of Kal'Urguan. His mother told Corch how the Kings raised the city from the deepest mines, how its inhabitants faced the war, and how it emerged from the core of the mountain as a massive monument. He since grew up with the dream of visiting Kal'Urguan's Grand Hall. Time was not kind with Corch's clan. It's members aged, few children were born, and many of the youngest dwarfs choosed to join the military over the nomad life. Corch's parents died the winter he got 230 years old. Being not as prone to war as its dwarf fellows, Corch spent the next 10 years with the clan seeing it disappear. One night of storm, a lone dwarf came to his camp asking for shelter. Turns out he was a merchant on its way to Kal'Urguan, and told Corch about the building works taking place there. A week later, he took a few supplies and his father's iron pickaxe and started a journey. He didn't left his clan without regret, leaving behind some friends and the people he grow up with, but he did it. Today, Corch's boots hit the mud on its way to the big city of Kal'Urguan in the hopes of finding a decent job, and become one day a respected builder. Your characters ambitions: To find a good builder job and live at peace. Out in the Wilds, your character comes across a small cottage. Outside, there appears to be an elf struggling combat with two bandits. What does your character do? Corch would rely on his sturdy appearance to try and scare the bandits. If this doesn't work and things get ugly, he might end up running, but would try to find help on its way. Update: Corch cleans the sweat that slides over his face, gathers all strength he is capable of, and holding his pickaxe he appears from behind a low tree: Corch: -"You two, have you slept with orcs lately? you smell like a creeper!" Bandits: -"Who is that?" Corch: -"Leave him alone before I mine out your faces!" The bandits react as soon as they realize the dwarf is holding a tool instead of a weapon. One of them starts to run towards him with a rusty sword on its hand. Corch instantly flees out in the search of help, and hoping his interruption has given the elf an opportunity to strike back. Your character walks up to a shop in the middle of Al'Khazar. "Hello, my good sir!" says the shop owner. "What may I help you with today?" How does your character answer? (updated) Corch looks at the skinny man who speaks. He's got that condescendent look of the "civilized" humans, always looking at the dwarfs over their shoulders. But there is no reason to be rude.
