  1. Just want to say, everything Danny posted in his long thread is it.

    It.

Its solid, has a big picture design, with just enough detail for lore folks to build on, and has potential for the sophistication we want. Its ripe for usage.

One thing i would add is maybe a Giant Wall separating this continent and another land mass connected to it. Something just like the wall of the Game of Thrones books. (havent seen the show so not sure how well its shown there). The area behind this wall could be infested to the brim with monsters. Something we found when we came here and we maintain it for peace. A place for all races to unify, a place people could enter and challenge themselves to the ultimate danger, or fall to its corruption.

Think of it as a great outdoor dungeon that would permanantly be filled with things to kill but wicked hard. Maybe a greater evil lurks or sleeps behind this wall that holds back hordes of monsters. Could the races of this continent unify to end it? Or will the tides of evil rush forth and lay siege to the innocents?

Also to reiterate: Keep halflings and a version of their Vale near the human kingdoms and plains. ;P (i know its already been addressed)

P.S. Would we have the chance to keep a few special items? Ive busted some butt to get a couple of things I hold dear ingame. Would be really aweful to have them just wiped clean.

P.P.S. Danny, your post is a great example of a foundation in world building. Definitely on the D&D level.

While the idea of the wall is awesome it is just too unoriginal. As for the items, I said in an earlier post that if the people of Auslon were fleeing to a new land then players would probably be able to take everything they can carry. Except I don't know if this is possible coding wise.

  2. *Reads with intrests then casualy attaches a small note under*

"Greetings Larsil, I be Iasgair leader of the seekers. We are a group seeking to find knowledge and protect the peoples of Asulans right to learn it. We range from talented scholars, to blacksmiths, to farmers, to gaurds. The main jobs for a bowman like yourself would be locating ruins, and other simple contracts. Our base is located on the forest island and you can send me a bird there or tac up a note beneath this one.

    With good purpose,

    Iasgair Eye of the Seekers"

*Vardemis looks at the note pinned beneith the main note*

    *He mutters under his breath.*

"What a fool. He tells him to send a bird to this 'forest island' but he doesn't tell him where it is."

  3. Having a temporary character is just to learn things OOCLY. By this I mean things like : Which IGN corresponds to which character? And just talking OOCLY with us on skype. If both of you could PM me your skype account or add me at jeffmine.lotc that would be greatly appreciative.

I am just saying it could be more fun if you learn that stuff in-RP.

  4. Hello, Asulon!

I will also ask that you possibly play a High Elven temporary alt to get the hang of high elves.

If you were playing a child wouldn't it make more sense for them to not have "the hang of the high elves" because as a child they would have to be taught that stuff. (They weren't born with the knowledge)

EDIT: I might be interested. What timezone are the parents?

  5. Question:

Do we keep our money or items that we carry?

Depends how the move is roleplayed. If it is roleplayed that the people of Auslon are fleeing then I gues people would be able to keep whatever they can carry in their inventory. I don't know if it is possible coding-wise though to carry the items over to the new map.

  6. Alright, all this enough charter's comments need to stop for a seocnd and read this.

The reason why charters exist is so GMs can keep track of what town is where and whatnot. Because this is minecraft, nothing will stop players from running into the wolds, and making their own town/kingdom. With charters, at least it is regulated. And with the kingdom plugin, it SHOULD fix this issue.

^ Now that is the reason why charters exist. If we delete charters, then whats stopping a band of players just leaving to make their own settlement somewhere?

I think they meant stop people from making towns.

  7. *A note is pinned on a pole in Wachter Stadt*

    Dear Sariants.

Recently some of the animals in the pens went missing. It is unknown how this happened. Though I suspect it was humans, since there were no holes in the pens. All but one of the chickens and all of the cows (excluding the mushroom variety) went missing. I managed to catch some chickens today to fill the chicken pen. But I have been unable to find any wild cows.

So I am asking the Sariants of Wachter Stadt. If you see any wild cows please attempt to capture them in the pens, or else contact me or another farmer. It is an easy task to capture them and doesn't require much skill. All you need to do is hold out some wheat bundles to them and they will follow you. You can then lead them into the pens and shut the doors behind them.

With your help we will be able to get the pens up and running again, to their full extent.

I have left some bundles of wheat in the chest opposite the food chest in the store house next to the town square.

    - Yours sincerely Plebeian Vardemis Varcorlav

  8. Why not just make a skill so that if that skill is high enough you run faster..

If we did that we would need to raise the max total skill levels. Or else make it not contribute to the total (275).

The first one would be problematic. The second one would mean that sooner or later everyone on the server would have maxed out the skill.
