Out-Of-Character:
Minecraft Account Name: Project_Epsilon
Did you attend minecon and sign up at the LOTC booth?: Never attended Minecon, although I wished I did.
How old are you?: 18, not far from 19.
Time-Zone/Country of Residence: (UTC) Dublin, Edinburgh, Lisbon, London
Do you have a good grip on the English language/good grammar?: Yes, or I believe so at least, since I had to learn the language from scratch (I'm originally Polish and lived in the UK for the last 6 years). I can write 5000 words essays on a serious subject, and sometimes even a longer one if it's to do with a topic I like. I once wrote a whole a guide on RP fights, that was about 5000-6000 words long I think (Not sure now though, I need to find it first).
Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself: I'm a student living in England, that has originally come from Poland. I am normally quite light-hearted, but I know when to calm down and to take something seriously, and I know when to back-off. I also like to help people around, and work together, because I know that's the only way things ever get done properly.
How much time could you be on the server weekly?:
Monday: 2-3 hours.
Tuesday: 2-3 hours
Wednesday: 2-3 hours
Thursday: None, or very little.
Friday: 6-10 hours, after 6 pm (My time).
Saturday: 8 + hours
Sunday: 3-8 + hours
Please note, this is just a rough estimation, and I can be online for more than that, especially during Half-terms.
What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you.:
I am pretty much a veteran in Roleplaying and Fantasy settings, I have been playing DnD for over a year and attended a roleplaying server, which was also during that time.
Roleplaying for me is a way of putting myself in a different world, where I can be whoever I want, and do whatever I want. It's also a way for me to express myself in an artistic way, and excercising my writing skills.
In your own Words, describe what Metagaming and Powergaming are.
Metagaming is when you using information taken from OOC, which can be for example knowing where to find a location after a friend has told you OOC, or sometimes IG which is for example being able to see user_names through walls, and using it IC. It can also be in form using knowledge YOU personally have, which your character might not.
Powergaming is when you either force things onto other players or force a certain event to happen, which normally benefits you or someone in some way, or harm somoene else. This can be in form of killing someone IC, or forcing someone to do something without their excplicit permission (or when the other person doesn't want to do it).
What do you expect this server will be like?:
I expect the people of the server to be friendly, have good writing skills and to abide all of the server rules, as well have a sense of common decency. I expect the staff to be friendly, understanding and fair to me, just like to every other player.
Man, that sounded terribly formal and serious. Other than that, I expect the server to be lots and lots of fun. :)
What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?:
Mesalia - It started dying, people that I liked left and everything started to literally fall apart. I am still in contact with all of the people on that server though.
Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules?:
Yes, I have read the rules (Twice, just to be sure), understood and agreed to the rules. I need to say, these are some well written rules you have there.
How did you hear about us?:
From one of my friends from Mesalia, he introduced me to the server in the first place.
Have you voted for the Lord of the Craft on Minestatus? Which vote number were you?
Yes, but I have lost the vote number and when I tried again, it wouldn't show up (Stupid NoScript). I can vote again in 24h and sumbit you the number if you wish.
What is your The Lord Of Craft forum account name?:
Same as my MC username, to avoid confusion.
Project_Epsilon
In-Character:
Character Name:
Daniel Longstride
What is your Race?:
Human
Biography(This should include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.):
Your name is Daniel Longstride, and your story begins in a little mountain-side farm-range somewhere within the Kingdom of Oren, where you were born. Both of your parents were human, and they went along with their little secluded lives, trading their crops with travellers and offering them a place to stay for a night. Your parents loved you very much and cared for you extensively, probably due to the fact you were born Blind, so they had to pay extra attention to you, and keep an eye on you at all times.
You often sneaked out, while your mother was busy preparing the meal and your father was tending to the crops, and ventured into the woods surrounding your home. You often spent hours walking with your trusty walking-stick in hand, and listened in to the sounds of the forest, while wondering on the things within the world. You often wondered on why things were the way they were, and pondered on the subject of Life, making you quite a Free-thinker.
You always found nature beautiful, and soothing to your nerves as you often took naps below your favourite tree in the forest clearing. Life without eye-sight left you unable to see things as they look, so you had to turn to other ways of identifying your environment, to keep out of trouble and avoid constantly falling over a tree root or a piece of furniture. Your hearing capabilities exceeded that of your parents, as you were able to hear incoming traveller caravan from almost half a mile away if not more, and hear their conversation perfectly on the other side of the wall. Your sense of smell and taste were also something to behold, as you were able to smell almost exactly what was added to the food your mother cooked and what it should taste, making you an almost ideal chef. It was also you who was first to notice your father's tool barn was caught on fire, and thanks to you most of the animals got away safely.
Your father and mother taught you what they knew best, farming and tending to animals, as well as cooking and anything else that might help you in the future. You also know a little bit about herbs and plants you can find, since you have insisted for your father to read you one of the books you bought from one of the travellers, over and over again.
At the age of 21, you have decided you wanted to leave, to explore the world a little, and meet new people and find a place of your own. You can remember hearing your mother cry, as you left the house, promising that you will visit them as much as you can, not wanting your mother to worry too much. You stepped on one of the travelling caravans and took off to one of the towns, into the world beyond the range of your home.
If someone ever described you, they would say you had semi-long brown hair, a bit of a stubble on your chin and light-grey eyes which obviously indicated your blindness. Other than that, they would say you were of medium build, about 5"7 tall and with a quite prominent face. They would often say that you had that "something" inside you that made them feel more comfortable, a little calmer, in your personality. Some of the girls that travelled on the same caravan would compliment you for your looks, but you never seemed to care, not being ready for any kind of relationship yet.
Your characters ambitions:
You want to explore the world, and meet different people out there, and perhaps settle down with a place of your own. Your childhood dream was to see the night sky, ever since one of the travellers tried to describe it to you, which left you with mere impressions and images you could not visualise in your head, being blind and what not. You also heard stories of the Sky Temple, and decided you should visit it one day.
Out in the Wilds, your character comes across a small cottage. Outside, there appears to be an elf struggling combat with two bandits. What does your character do?
He would try to, first of all, stop the bandits from currently attacking the elf by getting their attention. After that, he would try to reason with the orcs, offer them some of the gold he has in return of them leaving the elf alone and if all fails, he would try to fight them long enough or lead them away for long enough, for the elf to run away.
Your character walks up to a shop in a quiet market. "Hello, my good sir!" says the shop owner. "What may I help you with today?" How does your character answer?
Since he does not know what time of the day it is, he would answer : "Hello to you too, is your business going well? <The merchant answers> That's good to hear, now, could I perhaps buy some of your <Insert object here>, I have heard you are THE person to speak to about them."
He's genuinly quite kind to people, and tries to be as well-mannered as possible.
