Very well done. A well organized thieves guild like this is definitely acceptable. Good luck and hopefully you guys can create some fun RP. Edit: I just noticed how long ago this was.. Sorry. : P

It is nice and adds a whole new theology/philosophy/culture. My character, however, would absolutely detest this.

((I suppose this is near the Cloud Temple based on the read. If I could settle here for a home for the beggining of my Lord of The Craft Career, I'll sign as well. Minecraft Username: Isembert Character Name: Isembert Barfut)) Isembert finds the charter posted to a notice board near the cloud temple. Examining his surroundings, he decides he will need a place to settle for a while. He signs his name and awaits a response via bird. -
Thanks for making these, I will be using one in my signature. Thanks again!

Out-Of-Character Minecraft Account Name: Isembert How old are you?: 16 Time-Zone/Country of Residence: United States of America – CST (GMT – 5:00) Do you have a good grip on the English language/good grammar?: Yes. Although born in Germany, it was on a United States Air Force military base. I moved from Germany at the age of two, so I only knew English. Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself: I am a sixteen-year-old US resident and I enjoy music. I’m really into 90s and 60s music and the whole counterculture sort of thing. I’ve played piano since I was four years old and guitar as of recent. I am a junior in high school and take a few AP classes for fun, not to mention the college credits! How much time could you be on the server weekly?: I can spend about six hours a day during the week and even more during the weekends. Over fifty hours weekly, I am almost positive. However, this depends on how much I like the server and the game, but based on what I see, I will. What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you: First and foremost, I consider roleplaying a combined effort. Without the cooperation of your fellow roleplayers, it can go nowhere. Roleplaying is acting out the role of a character in a certain scenario and remaining in his point of view despite out of character feelings; it is similar to acting. Roleplaying is a very fun escape and I love to spend a lot of time creating unique characters. What experience have you had in Roleplaying, if any?: I’ve essentially roleplayed my whole life starting with my childhood “pretend” games. I then moved on to forum roleplaying at the age of eight and also did a bit of Dungeons and Dragons with some friends. Some friends and I also looked into Live Action Roleplaying, however, that never happened. I never really roleplayed in a game until Minecraft, however. In your own Words, define what the act of Meta-Gaming is: Metagaming is using out of character information or feelings in character. If you know something your character does not, you cannot transfer that information to your character. Another thing to mention: Just because you are angry with someone out of character, or don’t like them out of character – you cannot transfer those feelings for someone to their character or to your own character. In your own Words, define what the act of Power-Gaming is: Powergaming is forcing your will on the characters you are roleplaying with. Another way to describe it is not giving people a chance to respond to your character’s actions. For example: In an RP fight you say you grab someone by their arm. You are supposed to give them a chance to counter that move. Powergaming would be continuing without a response saying something like: “Isembert then throws the man to the ground.” – This makes roleplaying impossible because as stated: “Roleplaying is a combined effort.” What do you expect this server will be like?: I think it will be a great introduction for my Minecraft campaign and hopefully somewhere I can make a commitment to. I think it will have some great roleplaying as I have seen on YouTube with a magnificent world to explore. What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?: I actually just bought Minecraft for this server so I have not really played on any other servers to make my leave from. Not to worry, I understand the basic rules and etiquette of playing on Minecraft servers from Google and videos on YouTube. Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules?: Yes. I understand how these rules can help maintain a healthy roleplaying environment. Do you promise to abide by said rules, and laws? This includes the Server, Forum, and Teamspeak set Rules: Yes, I also ensure you that I am liable for all actions done under my account and understand that I must face consequences if, under any circumstances, a rule is broken. How did you hear about us? Did someone refer you?: I’ve been interested in Minecraft for some time and now I’ve found that it has roleplaying capabilities. I’ve seen the server name everywhere while looking for a server to commit myself to. I saw it primarily on YouTube and the Minecraft Forums. Have you previously made an Application? If so could you link us to your last Application?: No, This is my first one. Have you posted this application on our minecraft forum thread yet? If not, just finish it up on here and then copy + paste is over there. (http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/832121-%E2%96%91%E2%96%92%E2%96%93-the-lord-of-the-craft-%E2%96%93%E2%96%92%E2%96%91-enter-the-world-of-asulon-o-f-f-i-c-i-a-l-l-y-t-h-e-n-o-1-r-p-s-e-r-v-e-r/): No, but I will shortly. In-Character: Character Name: Isembert Barfut What Race are you?: Human What Sub-Race are you? (note, you aren’t required to have a sub-race): Northerner Biography (Please make this at least 2 paragraphs long. This must include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.): Isembert views himself as remarkably mediocre. However, he was not the beginning of his mediocrity. Isembert was born into a father and a mother of the same farm living a mediocre life together. The generations before them did nothing more than work on their lord’s farm either; the whole Barfut family was mediocre. Although mediocre, the family’s skill in farming seemed to have been passed down as Isembert had no problem fitting into the life and burden he was born into. From a very young age, Isembert worked on a rather large farm owned by a very wealthy lord of Renatus. His touch raised many crops all of which he would earn nothing for doing. Many days Isembert would watch the barrels of crop be taken away by wagon to be sold for the large profit his lord would receive. Although not heartbreaking to see his work go – it was simply crop after all- it still did touch a nerve in Isembert. The Barfut family was strongly religious, believing deeply in their master and god, Aeriel. The teachings of Aeriel were taught to Isembert, but how far they were embedded in his mind and heart was little. An internal struggle fell upon Isembert; if the lords cared nothing of their worker, what is it say the god Aeriel does either? From such a young age onward, Isembert struggled. The daily routines of harvesting and planting, sleeping and eating, waking up and falling asleep all became too much. Life was a never-ending circle for twenty more years. Isembert’s true fate would come at the age of thirty-one. A plague that began in Salvus spread and eventually he would be hit. The lords of his farm could not risk Isembert spreading his disease to their workers; or their property. Isembert was sent away, expelled from the farm and essentially left for dead. Although a struggle amongst them, the Barfut family stayed behind to keep their mediocre lives, it was as if they were afraid of such a great change. Through the nausea and precariousness of his plague, Isembert traveled further inland. Soon enough the monks and plague doctors found him, bringing him back to Wilven Sanctuary to be treated or killed. After lying in the beds of their temple for more than a week, the monks decided it was time. Forcibly removed from the bed and being carried to the fire pits, Isembert exclaimed that he would become a monk if they only give him one more week in chance of survival. Only by the graciousness of his executioner was he saved. A week of internal struggle prolonged as Isembert’s body healed. But finally, near the end of his deadline, Isembert was healed. A feeling of grief was lifted from Isembert and he felt loved by Aeriel, the god he once knew. Isembert planned to keep his promise at all costs even at his age of thirty-two. What is your Character's ambitions?: Living a mediocre life as far as he can see, Isembert is ready to step things up a notch. Prior to now, his life consisted of very little more than begging and eating the scraps of food he could find. Traveling to mainland Asulon and gazing upon the many sights he would not have seen otherwise, the mediocre life is no longer enough for Isembert. Once suffering from the plague, in sight of death whilst being dragged to the fire-pit, Isembert swore to the monks of the Wilven Sanctuary that he would give himself up and become a monk if they spared him for a few more days. Planning to keep his promise, he will try his luck at becoming a monk. If that fails, Isembert has countless other plans in the immense world of Asulon. What is your character’s favorite tool? (sword, pickaxe, shovel, etc): Although Isembert would like to say his favorite tools are his books, he cannot read. Fearing his incapability will stop him from becoming a monk, he has other plans. Isembert has his skill in a hoe from his many years of working; he could consider this his favorite tool undeniably. What is one of your Character's most skilled talents? Isembert is particularly skilled in farming due to his countless years working on a farm in Renatus. First using his hands, he eventually picked up a hoe at the young age of seven and has been working since. Despite the many blisters and urns from the winter sun, Isembert continued to work. Although he could have become something great with his skill, Isembert chose to keep his rather mediocre life, until the one fateful day he caught the plague. A screenshot of your skin (must be in proper format): Other Information about your Character: Although once believing in the little he heard about the Illumins Obscura, Isembert is now strictly Puritarian. Struggling with an inner conflict as a lowly serf, Isembert thought the gods, particularly Aeriel, were no better than his lord and masters; being treated as dirt and suffering with his daily tasks, he felt as if the heavenly beings cared nothing of him but rather their own power (reflective of the Ilumins Obscura belief.) However, after surviving the plague, his faith changed and he now serves Aeriel and does plan to become a monk. Open-Response-Questions Whilst traveling from the Cloud Temple you see a small halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. They appear to be trying to steal money from him, how does your character respond? Isembert is not quite a fighter, but his newfound faith guides him through this situation. Isembert approaches the two armed warriors calmly, holding out his hands. One warrior looks up, his face dirty with both the scruff remaining from his shaved beard and dirt. “What do ye’ want old man?” The warrior spits as he exclaims. Isembert nods slowly but then speaks. “My friends, what you are doing to this fellow is against everything that Aeriel teaches u –“ At the sound of Aeriel, the other warrior interrupts: “Aeriel?!” He spits. “Do you not know, old man? By our actions, do you think we honestly agree with the teachings of such a name?” Isembert nods once again, remaining calm. “I was once like you, friends. However, believe the good news, Aeriel does care about you. I can speak from first hand experience.” The warrior grunts, the one behind him seemingly nodding. As Isembert approaches the Halfling, the warrior takes a step forward, his chainmail rattling. Isembert speaks. “Surely you will not strike a holy man, warrior.” Isembert turns to face him as he raises his blade. The warrior behind him grabs the warrior’s shoulder saying and commanding: “He will not.” Isembert nods, taking the Halfling by the shoulder and leading him back into the safety of the Cloud Temple. Your character wanders into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well dressed man is standing. He’s offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent " 'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your character response? “Hello back to you, friend. Do you have any blank books or quills?” Isembert is trying to get better at reading as it is most likely required to become a monk as he wishes to. The man responds. “Nay, I’ve not. However, I do have a book some fellow sold me the other day. It’s about war’s in Aegis and Asulon. It looks like an interesting read.” Intrigued, Isembert agrees. “Sure, I’ll take it.” The man responds with the amount owed and Isembert pays him that, plus a few more Minas. As Isembert is walking out, the man shouts. “Oi, Mister! You’ve paid me a few Minas too many.” Isembert nods at his honesty and responds. “Keep it. I thank you for the recommendation.” Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?: Isembert wanders the wilderness, the sun beginning to set. He scouts for shelter by climbing into a tree and looking around. He spots a small hut, seemingly abandoned. Not worried to disrupt the nonexistent residents, he decides to sleep in the hut for the night. Isembert wakes up the next morning to the sun shining through the cracked window onto a small chest. The chest is unlocked, so Isembert opens it revealing a few Iron bars and a golden sword. Not worried about anyone returning to the hut, Isembert takes the Iron bars to sell, putting them in his pack. However, he leaves the sword behind as it has no uses to him. Hungry and lost in the wilderness, you stumble across a small trading camp nestled among the forest, they greet you you in the common tongue, how do you respond? Isembert is hungry and starving, lost in a dense forest in the wilderness of Asulon. By pure chance, he stumbles across a small trading camp. Isembert thinks to himself in praise of Aeriel and he approaches the camp. “Greetings, Traveler.” A man inside a tent pokes his head out and greets Isembert. “Aeriel bless you, I thought my travels may end here.” Isembert replies. Chuckling, the man welcomes him inside. The next morning, Isembert gets directions and heads out, paying the trading camp a few Minas in thanks of their help and shelter. You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. The town guard have gathered, and are asking for assistance to help eliminate them. The leader of the party is offering a reward for any who offer their support. How does your character act on this information?: Isembert sits in his home by a fire, studying letters in hopes to learn how to read. He hears a knock on the door and answers. “Ello’ Isembert, we need elp’ with clearing out a bandit camp up teh’ road. It looks like a bad un’, sir.” Isembert nods, wearily. “May Aeriel guide you in your fight, lad. However, I am afraid I cannot assist you. I am not quite a fighter yet.” The man nods. “I understand, I wish ye’ luck in.. – Er.. Whatever it is you are doing, sir.” Isembert nods, turning back into his home as the man goes on to the next home.
