Ah, my ninth post on the forums of 2020.

While I do agree with heralds having a revamp, and more abilities, there are several issues I've had with this from the start. 

One of my biggest problems with this from the very beginning has been the issue brought up with the hierarchy of heralds and azdrazi. From the beginning you tried to write heralds into being more important to Azdromoth than Azdrazi, I see that has been changed yet the intention still remains.

Instead of trying to earn respect and to change the way SOME azdrazi treat heralds, you  are trying to write a change instead of actually doing such in roleplay. This I will remain not agreeing upon, and will have issues with.  

Heraldry is an amazing introduction into the azdrazi culture and life and is a great way of proving who can handle the change to azdrazi.  I feel with this change, this will create more division between the two, creating a smaller need for azdrazi. 

I also disagree with Heralds gaining dragonic traits. If what you wish is a clear separation between herald and azdrazi, then making them azdrazi like doesn't make sense.What you’ve written, down to the behavior, is azdrazi, without the lizard.  The traits you list are azdrazi characteristics, add in the abilities and it is too much like azdrazi to my liking.

Summarise the Lore of this magic(s):

Communion:
The deep connection between nature and druid. Through this, Druii are gifted with the ability to speak with and to gain an understanding of the natural world that only grows with the age of their attunement.

When a druid first enters their connection with the natural world, the tie they have to nature is weak and can be heard as a hum within their mind. The druid cub will have trouble understanding nature’s call, and too much strain will lead to exhaustion. With the guidance of their teacher, druid cubs will spend a great deal of time in meditation to strengthen their bonds with nature, so that they may open themselves up to new abilities. 

As time goes on, and they progress to the second tier, the cubs will be able to use their abilities with a little more ease. They will find themselves able to communicate with creatures and plantlife, finding themselves able to make physical requests as well. 

Control :

When a Druii uses Communion to control and interact in a physical manner with nature, this is called Control. This control can be seen as the growing of plant life or even requesting tasks of wildlife. A druid’s ability to control is dependent on their grasp of communion, for they are a pair. A druid cub would not be as successful as one who has worked with this for years. They may ask something of nature, but nature would not need to respond in a way that they wanted. Yet, as a druid grasps control over time, they would earn the respect and friendship of the wild, earning nature’s respect and in that, nature will be more willing to do as the druid requests.

Layla wakes up to the sound of mewing kittens. Crawling out of bed to give them cat-chow, she’d find the small letter upon her stoop. 

As she read the words upon the parchment, she would sink down onto her sofa, letting out a soft sigh. The Raven would hold the letter close to her, murmuring a prayer to the wild gods for her oldest and dearest friend. She’d pull a kitten into her lap, the feeling of loss overtaking her as she cradled the kitten close.

The azdrazi have admittedly been scattered in the past but as alty said, we are reclaiming our past ties to the horens and making a place for ourselves within human rp.  We're admittedly a small group right now and hopefully with this rewrite we have the opportunity to bring more azdrazi in to make our presence more prominent.
