Grammar and spelling errors drive me insane. Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself: I like to think of myself as intelligent, responsible and analytical. I am also very, very geeky. Where I come from, the proper response to "You're weird!" is "Thank you!". How much time could you be on the server weekly?: 3-6 hours What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you: Roleplaying is taking on the persona of another character and acting as if you were them. It is becoming so immersed in a role that you are that character. What experience have you had in Roleplaying, if any?: I have been an administrator on the Book of Halegron RP server as well as the Silverage RP server for nigh on two months now. I play Dungeons and Dragons edition 3.5 and have been doing so for many years. In both cases I spent many hours creating lore, history and myths for fantasy worlds. On those two RP servers, I was the Head Loremaster, a position which appears to be present on this server. The character I played the longest was a Mage by the name of Elric Seeker, who ended up becoming the last of his order when we transitioned from SA to BoH. I wrote massive amounts of magic lore, including histories, stories, and numerous writings on magic-theory. In your own Words, define what the act of Meta-Gaming is: Metagaming is using knowledge gained out of character to affect in-character actions. An example would be asking a friend of mine where he is and if he has some items I need, and then just "Happening" to bump into him at a designated spot. You need to find that sort of thing out in-character. In your own Words, define what the act of Power-Emoting is: Power-Emoting is RPing someone's response to your actions. For example, *Chops off (Person)'s head* would be Power-Emoting, whereas *Swings axe at (Person)'s head* would not. It is RPing an action without giving the target a chance to choose how they character would react. What do you expect this server will be like?: I have heard very good things about this server. I expect it to be grand and very active. What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?: I have played on Silverage RP and Book of Halegron RP. Silverage ended and the staff (at the time, including myself) constructed Book of Halegron. Recently MCProhosting had a major error and we lost the entire server. We're trying to put a new one together, but in the mean time, a number of our players are checking out Lord of the Craft. I also played on Battle of Eldaran and Realms of Gwoaumath briefly, but I found them lacking in a number of attributes I think are necessary for a good RP server (Well-established Lore, active and helpful community, lively playerbase, etc. etc.) Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules?: Yes, I have. I particularly like the rule disallowing players from destroying the environemnt. Terrain spam is annoying and can ruin the atmosphere of an RP server. (note, you aren’t required to have a sub-race): Southeron Biography (Please make this at least 2 paragraphs long. This must include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.): Corrina was born in the small farming village of Ager, in the Holy Oren Empire. An only child, she aided her father in tending the fields during harvest time and helped her mother sew and make cheese when it wasn’t. It was simple life, but a good one. Still, Corrina wasn’t satisfied with living such a humble existence. Though small, travelers did come through Ager now and then. At the age of 15, an illusionist chanced through the village and performed a couple of tricks in exchange for a place to spend the night. Corinna was entranced by the figments and images that the Mage brought forth. This started her down her path to learn more about the world. She began by teaching herself how to read, over the course of many months. She proceeded to voraciously go through all of the books that she could find in Ager – much less than she’d like. She spoke with travelers whenever they passed through, and she slowly learned about the outside world. She heard of the great library in the capital of Oren, Arethor. She resolved that she would journey there when she was older, and become a great scholar. She spoke to her parents of this, and they were naturally against it. “The wider world is dangerous,” her father told her. “So I will learn to defend myself,” she said in turn. For the next couple of years, she continued learning what she could, but also began training with a wooden sword, with the help of her friend Arcas. On the eve of her eighteenth birthday, she set out for Arethor, carrying only what meager possessions she had. What are your Character's ambitions?: To learn as much about the world as she can, to learn the history and myths of Asulon, and perhaps become initiated into the College of Arcane. What is your character’s favorite tool? (sword, pickaxe, shovel, etc): A well-forged iron blade. Though frankly, she prefers a book and quill. What is one of your Character's most skilled talents? Whilst traveling from the Cloud Temple you see a small halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. They appear to be trying to steal money from him, how does your character respond? “I need to do something,” Corr thinks to herself. “But I’m no match for two armed men..” “Hey you two!” Corrina shouts at the armed men. “Unhand him!” The men turn to face her, still holding the Halfling. “Oh? And why should we?” asks one man, in a jeering tone. “See that?” Corr gestures at the Cloud Temple. “Do you know what that is? That’s the Cloud Temple. The Celestial Triumvirate are watching you right now, and judging you. How do you think they feel about you harassing innocent travelers?” “Pffft. Celestial Triumvirate my rear end. Everyone knows they’re a load of hooey,” the other thug says. The Halfling struggles fruitlessly. “Oh? Well what about the Monks? Surely they’ve helped you, at one time or another? Even if you don’t believe in the Triumvirate, surely you believe in the power of the Monks? I happen to be an apprentice at the Temple (Lie), and I can make sure they pay you no favors should you ever need their aid, unless you unhand that man right now” The thugs glance at each other, drop the Halfling, make a hurried apology, and rush off. Corrina helps the weary Halfling up and graciously refuses any sort of reward. Your character wanders into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well dressed man is standing. He’s offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent " 'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your character response? Corrina browses the wares, searching for anything of interest. “Do you have any.. books, sir?” she asks politely. “I do have one, but I doubt a young lady like yourself will find it terribly interesting. Surely you’d rather have this jeweled bracelet, hmm?” the merchant says, holding up a particularly fine example of jewelry. “I would like to see the book, if you don’t mind,” Corrina says. The merchant reluctantly shows her the book, a book of children’s stories from Riven. “Ah! I don’t think I’ve seen this one before! How much is it?” The two go back and forth for a few minutes, debating prices, until at least they settle on a number and Corrina walks away happily with her purchase. Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?: Corrina would be very wary… Treasures like these are not simply left out in the open. If the owner left, they would surely have taken these with them. If the owner had been killed, then wouldn’t the hut have been looted? The only explanation that makes sense is that the owner was prevented from returning somehow, and no one else has chanced upon these since… There’s no way to track down the owner, and given the layer of dust, it would appear they’ve been gone for some time. Though she feels a bit guilty about it, Corrina takes the items. Hungry and lost in the wilderness, you stumble across a small trading camp nestled among the forest, they greet you you in the common tongue, how do you respond? “Ah, civilization! I thought I’d die in that forest! I’ve been lost in that forest for a few days now, and have run out of food. I would be greatly in your debt if you would lend me a bed to rest in and a bite to eat,” Corrina says to the merchants. Naturally they offer to sell her the food she requests, and she ends up settling for a price a bit higher than she would have otherwise, just due to how hungry she is. You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. The town guard have gathered, and are asking for assistance to help eliminate them. The leader of the party is offering a reward for any who offer their support. How does your character act on this information?: Corrina does offer her support, but the guards scoff at the idea of a girl like her helping in a fight. They instead offer her a position as lookout. Corrina is understandably unhappy with this outcome, but realizes she likely isn’t going to change their minds. She begrudgingly accepts, but resolves to keep her blade with her and help in combat if the need arises. Anything else you would like to say?: (In case Danny's the one that reads this).
