  1. To the esteemed heretic Blundermore, whom was thrice expelled from the Empire of Oren for heresy and attempting to undermine the rule of Godfrey I and Horen V,

I was, in fact, the knight who had killed the worshiper. I have a few, if not many words for you.

You speak of wisdom and how that we should capture them and interrogate them. How do you propose we capture cultists and worshipers who kill themselves when captured, or somehow summon their comrades to preform near impossible feats to spay their captured comrade? I do recall the Ascended and the Aeriel-worshipping cult that surrounds them causing the death of not one, but three cultists by demanding the capturing party, reputable knights, hand them over and threatened their false god Aeriel's wrath upon them.

One can not seriously expect your word to be taken seriously when you openly defied imperial law concerning magic, in the very halls where the Emperor Godfrey set forth his decree. You attempted to fill the imperial halls with former Ascended, who acted for naught and caused the destruction of Aegis, and usurp the Emperor Godfrey.

You are upset you didn't get the glory is all, and you think your kind is the only one capable of interrogating and capturing these cultists, when it is entirely likely they are independent or know nothing. You are useless and get in the way. What might stray from my point, yet I must ask all the same, how does a human live over three hundred years anyhow? Are you another witch such as the Witch-Queen Dawn Perea?

    With warm regards,
    Corbett van Cleef

  2. Corbett stands motionless as he stares at the ruined castle of Pravets. The crow flying off truly showing the meaning of the picture before him and with a heavy heart the man lets out a quiet sigh, his eyes glisten with moisture but nay a single drop falls. "Dravo.." he mutters out, the quietness of his voice expressing his true feelings all too well, "Until we meet once more... In the seven skies, my good friend." Visions of the past creep into Corbett's mind, when Roy was a young boy in Vekaro, the two being friends, along with the good and bad memories all seemingly flash in an instant. "Roy's our boy." He states clearly and audibly, turning his head to look out to the rest of the world before him. With a solemn nod of his head he continues on his path, the weight he carries now one person heavier.

    OOC:
I'll miss you my mentor, leader, and friend. Keep in touch.
  3. Corbett sighed heavily, his armor was battered and the paint chipped and faded. His horse lame and his sword dulled. It had been many years and he bore the scars to show it, but for the Creator and his Order they were worth it. The Knight Captain rode upon a horse which had seen more days than a horse should, it was tired and if either of them had earned a rest it was his steed.

With a smile, Corbett patted the horses neck and urged him onward, the Bastion peaked over the horizon. It gave him access to a pocket of energy he thought gone and it seemed his horse knew home when he saw it, picking up the pace ever so slightly.

The two went home, the man at the gate shouting out, "A Knight returns from Duty! Glory to Ser Corbett!" The gates quickly open, and a squire named Caldon taking the horse to food and water, while Corbett dismounted and walked into the halls he had not seen in many years. With a sigh he removed his great helm, "It's good to be home."

  4. Corbett slowly clears his throat, speaking to Godferik,

"Tserkov… Is that not the barony that you rule? A cesspool of filth and depravity. They attempt to emulate the town of Pravets, the independent and successful town owned and run by Roy Carrion, a genius by all rights and a man of much influence. It is curious, where he got this idea for in fact, the good Baron himself was often seen attempting to live in Pravets, in which he would be run out time and time again. Roy himself would go to leave Oren after Emperor Boris had departed, for Godfriek was disrespectful to not only those he saw as lesser, but his own family. What man, who can call himself a good Creator worshipping man, can insult and harass and treat his own family in a brutal and malicious fashion? Such a thing is heard from the likes of those such as Nero the Rat, or Gideon Silverblade, despicable people surely condemned to Hell. Does the Baron, for he is surely not good, find the town of Pravets enjoyable, in that he copies it? For mockery and copying are of course the most sincere forms of flattery. Perhaps Godfriek of the house-of-the-rotted-flesh, which is what Carrion means, and he does
fine and well to make many and more piles of carrion from his own denizens rotting flesh, is envious of Roy? Sinful indeed, for he must have sinned either way, yet has the audacity to name his town “church” in a language spoken by peasants, which he surely would consider his lessers.

So it must be a ruse then, for him to mock Roy. He wastes the Imperial Crowns purse attempting to emulate a member of his dynasty which he publicly despises. That, or he surely must have a mental issue which has been a topic of controversy for some time indeed among the folk of Oren. It must be his own pride as well, to openly denounce a successful and wealthy town while he himself runs an empty hamlet in which he himself does not even reside, sneaking into Pravets again and again to failing to garner free, happy people to his hamlet of sin and disease. Make no mistake, Godfriek is ill in the head and soul truly, for doing such deplorable acts. But we must not abandon hope, for surely, if he is of a good stock he will repent and make amends to his cousin and the Creator himself."
