In-Character Details
Character Name: Onar Hammerbeard
Character Race:Mountain Dwarf
Character biography - Make this at least 2 paragraphs long, which must explain your character’s history, appearance, personality, age and any other details you deem necessary:Onar Hammerbeard was born to a single-mother in a tiny mining camp outside of Kal'Dnart. At the age of 2 seasons, Onar was forced to work in the mine to feed his mother, who was not working and had no source of income, and to feed himself. Whilst working at the mine, he grew accustomed to adventuring deep into the caverns. During his mining expeditions, he discovered monsters and acquired a skill for fighting and killing them. He developed a knack for fighting with a woodaxe, as his beaten-up iron pickaxe, the only item his father had left behind, was too valuable for him to waste in combat. Also, while he survived deep inside of the mountain he mined in, he learned how to properly light an area to keep it clear of monsters, and to keep on his toes at all times.
As he grew older, his job required him to make expeditions for supplies and to sell his camps ores and smelted minerals in far-off places such as Kal'Alras and Arethor, learning the art of negotiation and becoming fascinated with the plethora of races that inhabited areas he traveled to. At the age of 33 seasons, he went away on a long trip to trade with the Riverbend Halflings. He returned to find his that his mother died of disease caused by her old age. With nothing left to him in the camp, Onar decided his future lay elsewhere, as an adventurer and traveler of Asulon.
What are your characters ambitions?: He wishes to find out the history of his father, as well as becoming an accomplished citizen of whatever city he chooses.
Please provide an in-game screenshot of your skin here:
Is there anything else you would like to say about your character: A trait supposedly adopted from his father, Onar is very quick to anger, often misinterpreting things as insults to his character.
Open-Response-Questions
Each question here must be answered with a minimum of one full paragraph, and detail the scene you are given in the way it would happen in roleplay. These questions should be answered in first person. Be detailed, not short.
Upon entering the Mighty Human City of Arethor, you come across a shop-keeper calling out to sell his wares to passers-by. The shopkeeper is not a Human, he is a poor dwarf looking to make a living in a new city. What is your response? I notice the dwarf in his pitiful state, a situation very similar to mine. I decide to help him out.
Onar: "Hello fellow dwarf, what do you sell here?"
Dwarf Vender: "Why hello, I sell the finest melons south of The War Uzg! 6 Minas per slice. Care to purchase?"
I remember my experiences as a trader, and the negotiating techniques I learned.
Onar: "Well, another stand over there is offering melons for 5 Minas a slice. Maybe I should take my business there."
Dwarf Vendor: "You don't say? In that case I'll give you one for 4 minas, or two for 7. Deal?"
Onar: "Deal, thank you for your business."
I walk away, grinning with satisfaction.
You’re in the Cloud Sanctuary late at night, when a large Orc begins to threaten a nearby dwarf. The only present monk is fast asleep, and the situation looks like it will escalate into violence soon, what does your character do? I quickly intervene to help my fellow dwarf.
Onar: "Easy Mr. Orc, calm yourself, what quarrel could you possibly have to make you this mad?"
Orc: "Look at this, a puny dwarf be given' me orders. I bet you couldn't even swing an axe."
WHAT? HOW DARE HE INSULT ME!
Onar: "Why I oughta…"
Dwarf: "It's not worth fighting him over brother, stay calm."
Waking up from the clamor, the Monk intervenes.
Monk: "Calm down, all of you. Go your separate ways or risk being imprisoned! Now begone!"
I walk away, still fuming.
Whilst walking down the road to Malinor, you stumble upon an old man. His walking stick , looks weak and frail, and just as you are about to ask something, the stick breaks, and the man falls to the ground. As he falls down, a bag of Minas falls to the ground, and splits open. As you watch the multiple coins spill out, you peer down at the defenceless man. What does your character do?: I help the poor man off the ground, and pull out the stick I always keep with me.
Onar: "Here you are good sir, I have a spare walking stick. As for the Minas, here they are for you."
Man: "Thank you son, your kindness is truly lifesaving. Know you of a place where I can rest these old bones?"
Onar: "Aye, through the Druid trees and over the bridge is great Normandor. In there you will find a tavern or inn to rest."
Man: "Thank you again son."
I keep on my path, my deed done for the day.
