  1. This write is to help update and clarify the inconsistencies with Auric Oil that make zero sense. If this is passed simply update the Auric Oil lore. :)

    AURIC OIL

    Auric Oil is a curious concoction involving the application of Liquid Essence in alchemy, sought out often by mage hunters, often dousing their blades and weapons within it before battles with magical creatures due to its anti-magical properties.

     

    RECIPE

    Base: Lard + Liquid Essence

    - 2x Instability

    - 1x Impediment

    - 1x Death 

     

    EFFECTS

    Auric Oil destabilizes the mana within entities where mana is a primary composition, such as Voidal Horrors or Golems. While it does not have the same effect upon descendants, for example, it still provides a more noticeable amount of pain to those who wield mana more prevalently, namely mages. Ectoplasmic or phantom beings would find their ectoplasm destabilized, making weapons doused in the oil capable of making contact with their intangible forms, disrupting their frames and causing them to demanifest with about three or four direct hits. Atronachs and other mana-based constructs, such as golems, will find the oil to tear through their element like a knife through warm butter, dealing heavy damage to their cores and weakening their casting ability, allowing them to take about four or five direct hits before de demanifesting. Runesmiths’ runes will react violently, trembling and shaking as they crack and thus are damaged. Substances such as Shade Amber would be damaged similarly as if to Aurum, though Shades themselves are unaffected. Mana fueled objects and enchantments can be quite damaged by contact with Auric Oil and the effects of the oil can render the enchantment null or even tear a spell apart directly should it be used to ‘cut’ through the spell. And lastly, Auric Oil is excruciating to Voidal Horrors, tearing them apart by their very seams, cutting through them as if slicing parchment paper with a sharpened knife.

     

    Spoiler

    - While Auric Oil may cause slight unease or minor pain upon contact with a mana-based being, real damage will only occur if the Oil is applied to a damaging object, such as a blade. 

    - Auric Oil would feel akin to salt upon a wound if applied to a Void Mage. Tier Three voidal spells and lower can be cut up by auric oil, and enchantments take heavy damage to the point where two or three direct hits could render the enchantment obsolete.

    Clarifications:

     

    Remove: - Auric Oil would feel akin to salt upon a wound if applied to a Void Mage. Tier Three voidal spells and lower can be cut up by auric oil, and enchantments take heavy damage to the point where two or three direct hits could render the enchantment obsolete. 

     

    Replace with: 

    - Auric Oil affects all mana-based spells and creatures (therefore, paladin magic, druid magic, house magic, etc) that are T3 or below.

     

    - Mana based spells are NULLED upon contact with this oil (Oil must contact the spell not the caster). Due to this effect the oil upon contact will also act as a "Direct Abjuration" to mana based objects such as tears and obelisks for example.

     

    - Mana based creatures will have the mana within destabilized by contact with the oil causing an effect depending on how this may effect the creature, this acts as a "Direct Abjuration" to creatures such as Horrors or Voidstalkers for example.

     

    -Enchantments that use Mana based spells would be NULLED and ILLEGIBLE FOR USE FOR THE REST OF COMBAT if effected by Auric Oil as these are mana based objects.

     

    Reason:

     

    This stuff is made to damage mana based creatures. VOID MAGES ARE NOT MANA BASED CREATURES.

     

    This oil can cut through voidal spells because they use mana. SO DO OTHER MAGICS LIKE DIEFIC MAGICS.

    [!] A public document is printed in Sutica. It may make its way around the world for anyone else to view and use. This document seems to be a set of rules on a small game of dueling.

     

     

    To show one's ability in their respective evocations is considered an honor among mages who take pride in their combative skills. To ensure that such a duel is done safely and fairly a fine set of rules and guidelines have been created and agreed upon by various parties - This concept would then be named “Arcane Dueling”. To duel is to not only test a mage's ability in the arcane but to put it to practice. One may be a long time mage wise with age however they may be outdone by another who certainly has the chance to outwit them. 


    Dueling is done by conjuring a weaker variation of one's evocation in specific shapes. These shapes determine not only the power but the speed and angle that these spells are sent at. Due to the nature of the shapes despite whatever evocation has been used one shape of fire may outdo water. This allows all mages to compete in an even fair battle of wits.

     

    A field should set set where two mages may stand ten or so steps away from one another and ready themselves. They will begin to prepare their spell and upon the count of three they will both send their spells at one another at the same time. Typically in a formal event there is a referee to ensure that both spells are fired at the same time.

     

    The Rules:

    There are five shapes that one may create lesser evocation in. These shapes are “Spheres” - “ Discs” “Bolts” “Beams” and “Arc”.

    • If the mages cast the same spell they will collide and have a forceful standoff. Both players would roll to determine who can withhold the spell and win.

     

    • The mages shall conjure their evocation shapelessly and upon the count of three cast forth their spell as a particular shape. The mage struck successfully and thus lost the first round of the duel.

     

    • These spells are to be rendered harmless only able to apply little damage else the other duelist will be disqualified. This would be small burns, cuts or being knocked over.

     

    • Participants should be ten steps away. They will send their spells out at the same time when indicated and before they must both announce they are ready.
      • (This is best done by pre-making your emote of sending your spell out, then someone counts from 3. Upon "Go" both parties with paste their emotes in at the same time to ensure its done fairly.)

     

    • There will be three rounds. The first one to win two of the three rounds will be deemed the winner of the duel.

    This is a flavorful game of 5 way rock paper scissors. A quick game that allows Voidal Mages to have some fun and quick duels without complexities and too much thought. 

    This will all be cast with the “Create Art” spell - it is a flavorful way to duel one another. These shapes will not provide any advantage in legitimate Combative Roleplay. This also means your persona will need at least one Evocation or a wand enchanted for such to participate.

    Briefly explain the lore behind this construct or creature:

             

    Today we'll be learning about Earth Atronachs.

     

    Earth Atronachs are the slowest counterpart of all Atronachs. These constructs are "living spells" in which take up an affinity of one of four core evocations. An EARTH atronach is a large solid construct formed of evoked earth typically wedged between set plates its core in the center. 

     

    Earth Atronachs cannot conjure projectiles like its other counterparts but instead it holds a strength just less of a golem and the ability to manipulate its earth either to create simple art, to create makeshift weaponry and tool or to 'reharden' itself and repair any damaged stone. Its a hearty version of the Atronachs its core able to take 4 strikes.

     

    Atronachs themselves are not very smart at first as its sort of like planting a small flower. With enough time they will grow to "mimic" a personality of their own with "emotions" that they synthesize. They may never truely feel emotion but they can at least try to understand such.

    Betelgeuse is a 7ft tall large construct - its plates formed to look like the Sutican Sentinels though a bit bigger to fit the immense stone structure it is. The number 04 is carved upon its arm plate to identify the Atronach.

Manage a 25 v 18 CRP session in Oren and then get burnt at the stake when they miss your individual emote? What about wars? Minor Conflicts?

    No one is invalidating the work Nickrocky did he's an amazing coder for sure. But also: A lot of us did not ask for the work he put in.

     

    1.8 minecraft vanilla PVP was fine as it was left for large group battles & wars. PVP was supposed to be an alternative to RP when there were too many people not an alternative gameplay to do outside of RP and grind your favorite MMO game, lord of the craft, out.
