  1. To Whom It May Concern

    __________________________

    Greetings,

My name is Garin Rosen, and I am an explorer of the land of Anthos. I study, record, and constantly seek out new and interesting things. Sadly, I have been unable to find knowledge on certain subjects. I seek permission for a temporary instatement into both the Department of Thaumaturgy and Naturalism, simply to observe of course. I am afraid I cannot provide much knowledge in return, or if it has any value to you, but if scholars do not learn what are they? If this is not possible, I will gladly help around the Ministry or perform other tasks. If those in charge are willing to negotiate something, please contact me. You can find me around Vaerhaven or you can look for me on the roads.

    Thank You

    Garin Rosen

  2. Oh! Just noticed I never commented on this. Tom's been a great friend on our [REDACTED] and he's amazingly helpful. He's a great roleplayer, and not once have I ever been displeased with Tom's roleplay. I fully support him trying to become a member of the ET.

    • Have you ever been banned or received a strike? If so, link the report: Once, no report was made. Banned on suspicion of x-raying. Unbanned 5-6 days later.
    • What do you believe are key factors for a successful event?

    (Not in order of importance)

    1. Story

Without a proper, thought out story, most people can't really get immersed into the event. If it's uninteresting, boring, too long, etc, people can get frustrated from the event quite quickly. That's why it's important for people to get the theme of the setting properly and the proper event in each place correctly. A mountain giant would do much better in the Dwarven Mountains rather than Malinor or Orcish Deserts.

    2. Players

Players are the body of the event, entirely. Without participants, what good is an event? A giant, unknown, terrifying creature would do MUCH better with more players than, say, 2 or 3. Alternatively, too many players with a small event wouldn't be fun for anyone, really. You would have people lost in emotes, and others doing absolutely nothing because they simply aren't needed.

    3. Fun

Yes, it should be fun. This might be the most obvious ones, but it is extremely important. The players need to have fun during the event, whether this means letting them take the upperhand during it, or simply trying to prolong it. An ET members main focus is to allow the players to have fun, because after all, this is what the server's about isn't it? The event needs to be different, not just something they can experience every day through normal roleplay.

    • What type of events are you most interested in creating? I suppose you could classify them as "Magical Creature" events or "Supernatural" sometimes.
    • What strengths could you contribute to the Event Team? I believe that I work well with others, I'm friendly to most (unless I have good reason not to be) and that I could provide some interesting roleplay.
    • Create three distinct RP scenarios/events that you, as an actor, could create for others (one paragraph each):

    - The Wendigo in the City

In this, I would be playing the following creature, while players attack me. The perspective is from an observer that played no part in the event.

    Suggested amount of players: 6-15

The night sky surrounds Abresi, the moon towering over it. The moon seems bigger than normal, providing a comforting feeling to some, yet terrifying those who know better. Suddenly, screams begin to emerge from the eastern side of the city, but seem to quiet down every now and then. The next thing that happens is rather unsettling: the sounds of metal, moving quickly and a loud screetch echoing throughout the night.

If you were to approach the mysterious noises, the scene would horrify you. Bodies are scattered around the street, bite marks into their bodies. There are guards that seem to attack a creature, but they seem to be dying quickly. Although you can't make out the creature itself, it's screams are sure to mark you for the rest of your life.

Suddenly, the creatures produces a near deafening scream, followed by a slightly dampened sound of a body hitting the floor. As you approach the now deceased creature, a foul stench overrides your nostrils. You look down and think that his must be a joke. There lies the giant body of a moose with human arms and a rotting stomach. Streams of richly dark red begin to flow from the body as some people carry it away.

    - Be Careful What You Wish For

In this event, I play a genie and you'll be reading from the players perspective. It should be noted that for the sake of not creating a wall of text, the genie or Djinn, depending on what you would rather call it would twist the players wishes against them.

    Recommended Amount of Players: 1-3

You walk down the beach north of the crossroads, listening to the calm waves hit the shoreline. Suddenly, the sun seems to reflect off of a sharp piece of metal, hitting you perfectly in the eye. As you go and explore the mystery metal, you find the tip of a lamp sticking out of the ground. You pick it up, finding that it's craftmanship is of that unknown to you. You take it over to the water, trying to clean it so you could sell it to one of the local merchants. As you scrub, ou hear the sound of a needle hitting the floor, but much louder. Suddenly, the lamp begins to burn your skin, even in the water. You throw it far away, but it begins shaking. That's when you see something horrible that sends a shiver down your spine.

The clouds begin turning red as the form of a giant man appears in the sky over you. "FINALLY! I AM FREE!" it booms, causing the earth around you to shake. The man appears to fly around, but he doesn't have legs. Instead, it appears that they were replaced by a cloud of technicolor gas that change every now and then, depending on the things behind it. "WHO RELEASED ME FROM MY PRISON?!" the man booms again.

He looks at you, and flies toward you slowly. The clouds revert back to their normal blue color, and the man seems to casually shrink down. He sticks his hand out towards you and asks normally "Hello there. Now tell me. What do you desire?" He holds out a gold coin and flicks it towards you, but it disappears in midair "Hrm?"

    - A Girl and Her Dog

In this event, I will be playing the hell hound. You will be observing the attack against the man.

    Recommended Amount of Players: 4-6

You walk through the cobwebbed forests on your way towards Malinor. Suddenly, you hear a scream coming from the darkest part of the forest. You quickly run over to it, dagger in hand. As you arrive, you see a three headed dog attacking a dark elven woman. It's skin is a seared red, it's eyes glowing orange. It's teeth are like that of a viscious dog, and each head is the same as the other. The right head begins to breathe fire, searing the arm of the poor woman. As you watch, you begin to feel the strange heat for yourself. It felt...almost unholy. It was heavy, like some sort of regret inside you while still feeling like fire. It was hot...it induced a sort of lust inside you, but still stinging your hairs ever so slightly.

The left head turns towards you, and begins to bark. The right head turns towards the barking, while the middle head is still pinning the elf. Luckily, she manages to pull out a golden dagger and stabs the left head. As the beast whimpered backwards, you quickly go to check on the woman. Her right arm and some of her shoulder is burned, but she'll live. You turn back towards the creature, watching as it squirms.

You go to attempt to hold it back. While it's disorientated, you kick it downwards, holding it down by it's neck with your foot. Suddenly, it's tail touches a beam of light descending from the heavens like a light from God Himself. The creature crys out, and you watch as it's black and red tail melts into a strange liquid. You kick the entire creature out into the pathway, watching as it whimpers and melts into nothing but a puddle. As you go back for the woman, you find that the dark elf is mysteriously gone.
