Deep in the warm confines of his burrow Felix Featherfoot idled about, indulging in a day-dream. He thought of the happiness he'd found in the farthing; of the good ale, and even better friends. He thought of the shy Posco, and the irascible Faldo. He thought of his adventures of old he never spoke of, and of his lazy days spent smoking on his front porch. He thought of the cantankerous chicken with a small chuckle. He was truly happy, and even the grumpy ol' Hobbit deep inside of him sighed with content. Life was good to him, but the ale had been even better. Felix wandered to his bed and lay there, smoking a superb pipe of some sort he'd found around the farthing. Then a q ueer feeling came about Felix. He rolled over out of the bed, his pipe falling out of his mouth to the floor with a small clatter as he clutched his chest.
He was having a heart attack.
Felix's sight clouded over, and the inner eye of his mind took over. Flashes of tankards of ale, laughing friends, and the feeling of the sun's warmth on his skin flit through his mind. The delicate curves of the woman's face blot out a great white light behind her, and her flowing brown hair settled down to tickle at his face. She began to recede in his vision, but she held his hand and shown him towards the light. A pure white light that filled your vision, yet bathed you in a soft glow. The lovely woman guiding him disappeared into the light, yet Felix was not alone. Beside the light stood all those that Felix had learned to love in his time. Aris, Posco, Fumble, Bolo, Faldo, and countless others stood there, gently smiling at Felix. Felix glanced behind him at where he'd come from, and smiled behind the pipe which hung from his lips. He turned and reached towards the light, basking in its glow and eager to see what lay beyond...
((I'm sorry to say it, but I'm taking an indefinite hiatus from the server. I'm starting my first year of college in a week, and I've realized it's time to grow up a bit, and get my stuff together. I loved playing with you guys (shout out to the halfling community), and I hope to be back some day when the time is right. In the meantime... Much love for Posco))
