  1. Same for my character Kevin Lucien, played on my other account, SFB2031. He's an adopted son of Frederick Nicator
  2. What’s the name of the Minecraft account you're applying for?: - SFB2031 What's your MAIN Minecraft Account name?:- Racf92 Do you agree to follow the rules on your new account?: Yes You understand you can not be on both of these accounts at once?: Yes You understand that if one account is banned, so will the other(s)?: Yes In-Character Information Now you actually make your character - be creative but stay reasonable! Make sure they make sense and that they follow lore. Try to come up with a character that you actually want to play. What’s your character called?: - Matthew Lucien What race are they (and sub-race)?: - Elf (High) What sex are they?: - Male How old are they?: - 18 Give us a brief description of their life - their story, childhood, family: - Orphaned at a very young age after parents had died in a forest fire right outside of Malinor. He hardly remembers anything about his parents or his other two siblings that had survived from the fire, as he was only 5 at the time of the fire. He has been living around Malinor ever since, not allowed back into Lin'evaral as he was deemed useless by many of the elders. Due to malnutrition, he is skinny and not very strong, hardly able to defend himself. Because of this, he tends to flee from any sort of conflict. Luckily, he has been able to survive on the good will of others, especially the druids. He currently resides in the refugee camp with those from both Malinor itself as well as Lin'evaral after its destruction, where he is still shunned by many of the other High Elves due to his weak nature and poor status. What are they like (personality)?: - Mostly shy, has a strong tendancy to avoid any sort of confrontation and conflict with other persons. Due to this he has very few friends and has to take care of himself the best he can What are their ambitions?: - No true ambittion, mostly he just wants to continue living, and possibly find his sibblings Do they have any special skills?: - Being in the way of many things, and the one who gets in trouble because he is simply there What are their weaknesses?: - Emotional scaring. Matthew is very sensitive emotionally and reacts strongly when he is emotionally hurt, usually consisting of him sobbing Give us a description of how they look (not a screenshot yet!)?: - 6ft 2, brown hair and blue eyes, pale skin Anything else you want to say about them?: - Tends to get in the way a lot, usually sulks away in corners and tries to avoid violence and conflict. Essentially a terrified squirrel Please give us a screenshot of your character’s skin: - http://i.imgur.com/ldRqc66.png
  3. This is a question about emoting that blocks basically everything except a specific path that you want the rp to take. It really takes the fun out of the Rp when your choices for actions are set to one due to how someone responds to your rp, especially when they seemingly react to something they shouldnt know about. for example, not to name anyone, jumping down on someone without them knowing about it in an emotion, and them miracle-dodging it and claiming that if it connected it would be power emoting. If this is not power emoting, then there is nothing I have against it, but it really destroyed all the fun i had in a recent rp I did with some people earlier today, where it ended up forcing me to have my character die or else i would be "breaking rules". And im not naming anyone about this either, It is not a report, I just want a clarification
  4. Just wondering about how many players will non-donators still be able to access the server on?
  5. Out-Of-Character Information Please fill out the following questions as accurately as possible, and ensure the essential details are accurate. Minecraft Account Name: Racf92 How old are you?: 17 Time-Zone: Central, GMT -6 Have you read, understood and agreed to the rules?: Yes What previous experience have you had in role-playing?: I've done some non-serious RP a few times on another server, and in real life I've done theatre performances since 6th grade, so I have a good grasp of characters and acting. I also have imagination and I'm almost always thinking about stuff to do or say How did you hear about the The Lord of the Craft?: My friend applied here and wanted me to look over her application. After reading it, my interest was sparked, and I decided to register myself Link any applications that you have previously made for the server: None so far Have you posted this application on the Minecraft Forum? If not, then please do so (link above): Yes Have you read the Elven lore, and shall you ensure you make use of it and follow it in your biography?: Yes Definitions In your own words define the following terms. Do not take any definitions from elsewhere!: Role-playing: A form of story-telling that has multiple people with different roles, known as characters, and is used to make things more interesting and or more enjoyable. It is very similar to theatre improvisation in how it works Meta-gaming: Using information that isn’t in game to determine stuff in-game, like someone across the world says “don’t go into that pit” and suddenly you RP off of this information. It destroys the fun of the game and makes it awkward to RP the result Power-emoting: Over-role-playing so that the other person has no choice other than the one presented. IE I take an axe and chop so-and-so into many pieces (forced death) It gets to a point where the fun is drained out from RPing In-Character Information: Complete the following biography on your character: Full Name: Timothy Richard Parir Current Age: Appears around 17 to 18 (In reality about 25 years old) Sub-race (if any): 25% High Elf, 25% Wood Elf, 50% Human (explained in the biography) Past / History (include childhood, major-events, etc. 2+ paragraphs long): Timothy Richard Parir was born to a father who was half High Elf, half Wood Elf and a mother that was human. He was born sometime in The Deep Cold just outside of Normandor. While he was very young, around the age of 4, his mother died of sickness, she was not able to survive in the elven lands due to her fragile body. His father was very depressed for a few years, and while Tim was out one day, he went off to join the army. Tim was orphaned at the young age of 7. He would later learn that his father had died in a struggle against the orcs. He was taken in by his uncle and aunt, but he would still feel out of place without his parents. As an elf, he didn’t really tend to fit in since he hardly looked like an elf. His pale-looking skin and his sickly appearance were beacons of light, isolating him from would-be friends. He only had a few friends, and they were from when he was very young, before he tended to stick out. He was often bullied by other elf children, but he never really seemed to care, his mind was always somewhere else, thinking of things he would rather be doing or stuff he should have done in the past. When he was around the age of 20, he would move out of his relative’s house and build a house west of Normandor. He gathered up some sheep and started to make a living from shearing sheep. He would also make potions as a hobby, but his main source of income was his wool. He made enough to live in relative comfort, as there was a good demand of wool in the area he settled in. He would make many friends, but he would feel unsatisfied with his life. When he was 25 (the time I will start the game), he would start traveling around the elven forests and would come to enjoy exploring. Ambitions for the Future: Since he is unable to make up his mind on what to do, he has no long term plans other than herding his sheep, making potions, and having a fun time doing other things Personality: Nice but adamant, sometimes sarcastic at times, this causes people to misunderstand him even if his intention is good. Skills: Smart, good at art, problem-solving, sheep herding and potions. Also likes to take on new hobbies, although he never tends to stick with the hobbies. Appearance (this must include an in-game screenshot of your skin): Pale-looking skin, dark-brown hair which tends to become messy, brown eyes, about 6ft tall, likes to wear a vivid blue shirt and greyish pants. About 5ft 11 and weighs around 125 pounds, and he is very skinny. http://imgur.com/T7oKsUY Any other details you wish to share about your character: Fast and agile, unable to make up his mind on what to do most of the time, a strong sense of justice especially when wrong is being done, and tends to be annoying due to his playful nature and sarcasm. His messy hairstyle tends to cover up his elf-ears, making him appear to be human at first glance. Open-Response-Questions Each question in this section must be answered with a minimum of one paragraph which must describe the event in full. Please be as descriptive as possible and do not break character or lore at any point. ____ 1. As you walk through the deep forests you hear the sound of whispering and snickering. Upon inspection you realize that a group of High Elves are mocking a small Wood Elf child. How do you react? Answer: As I walked over to the High Elves, one of them looked up, saying “What are you doing here human?” Surprised, I fixed my hair, which showed my elf-ears to the High Elves. I said “And what are you doing with that child, I thought you hypocrites protected children” “Why don’t you get lost, Halfling. You’re not even a full elf. Leave before we teach you a lesson!” responded another of the elves. Furious, yet choosing my words carefully, I retorted, “And why can’t you leave this poor child alone? You should be mocking me instead of him.” “Guys, lets teach this Halfling a lesson” the first elf said to his friends. One slowly started to approach me, and without warning he lunged at me. Agilely sidestepping his slow attack, I smash him on the head as he passes by. He falls to the ground, but quickly gets up and staggers backwards, away from me, rubbing the place where he was hit. “I think we should get out of here,” another elf said with visible fear written on his face. They all run off, one of them shouting back, “You won’t see the last of us, Halfling!” The elf-child looks up at me and says “Thank you, mister” “It’s nothing, I was just doing what needed to be done. You should go on with what you were doing before,” I said back to him. He runs off, and I continue walking through the deep forests. 2. Whilst wandering through the Elven forests you come across a frail old man with a walking stick. He collapses in front of you, falling to the ground with a sharp thud. Out of his pocket falls a small pouch of gold coins, which hits the ground and splits open spreading coins across the pathway. The man lies there, defenseless - what do you do? Answer: I quickly run and help support the old man, asking him “Are you alright? Should I call for some help?” “No, I think I’ll be fine, just help me support myself for a minute,” he said back, reaching for his fallen walking stick. I reach out and grab it for him and hand it to him. “I think I can support myself now, so let go of me for a minute,” he told me, and I let go. He wobbles as he gains his balance, but quickly rights himself up with his walking stick, and he starts to walk off. “Sir, you forgot your money!” I call back to him, but he appears not to have heard me. I quickly gather up the coins and rush after him, calling for him to stop. “Oh that? You can keep it, and thanks for the help,” he told me once I had stopped him. He starts to walk off again, and despite my protests, he doesn’t stop. In exasperation, I decided that it would be best to take the money and not to bother him since he insisted on letting me have it. I call out to thank him, but he had already disappeared, without a trace. With a bit of confusion, I pocket the money and walk off, determined that if I were to see him again I would give him the money back. 3. Whilst traversing the Elven Woodlands, you come across a small clearing in which a colored carriage sits. A trader stands outside of it and calls you over, telling you of his wares. He points out that his carriage sells just about everything, and that he's willing for you to haggle for a price. What does your character do? (Please include:- item, haggling for prices and the discussion involved). Answer: Looking around his carriage, I spot some useful ingredients for potions, along with several shears, which would be helpful with my sheep. I asked him, “How much for the potion ingredients, and how much for the shears?” “The shears cost 5 minas each, and the potion ingredients, how about I sell you a set of them for 40 minas? I will include a brewing stand in the offer for 5 more minas,” the merchant responded. Searching through my pockets, I found 30 minas, not to mention a good bit of wool and some food. “How about I buy the set for 30 minas, along with some food and wool?” I ask him. The merchant frowned at me, deep in thought about my offer. He said, “How much wool would this entail?” “Enough to make a good rug or piece of clothing out of it,” I responded, trying to hide my excitement in my voice. “Alright, that sounds good. I haven’t had much to eat for a few days, so I guess that will do.” I pay him the money, wool and food, and he hands over a potion set with enough materials to make a wide variety of potions. “Thank you,” I responded to him. “No problem, take care and be sure to come back for more items soon!” I walk off, being sure to carry the set carefully in order not to drop it and wreck its contents. (I tried to fix the formating of the application but it seems content to change itself. Oh well) (Added a better skin. That took a lot longer than I would of liked it to, at least I was able to add my blue shirt in the new one)
