  1. Jenny stared at the missive with a sad face :( she looked to her Hohkmatti 11's that she "BORROWED" from Lanre the day of that rebellion (not incited by her). . .She remembered all the passing "Hi Lanre's" but now Lanre was hella extra evil. . .

"Bye Lanre. . ." was all she uttered, waving to the goodbye to the missive.

[!] In the abandoned lands an unbecoming leader ponders the needs of a dying city. A crown across her head blinds her judgment, emanating a malignant energy.

The Maehr then traveled across the lands and heeded the words of merchants and retired leaders alike. . .

“Moneh makes teh world go around lass! Tat’s wot every GOOD empire needs!” Spoke a wizened and sagely dwed to a cloaked, disguised Primarch; as the longbeard rose a merry stein!

“Yes, YES. We need treasure! People LOVE treasure!” She'd chirp to herself alone.

The Primarch took to the abandoned houses of the city, wrought with soot and cobwebs and with the touch of Laura's blessing did their old trinkets spin to pure Aurum.

For one whole day did GOLD rain down from the moonlit skies of The Ashen City.

Unfortunately. . .The GRANDIOSE Nor’Velythian treasury of approximately 50,647 minae soon suffered inflation, alas - this Primarch was uneducated in the field of basic economics. Soon did the worth of the Nor’Velythian treasury slim down to a measly 398.2 mina!

Too much gold, so much no one could run away with it all! Soon did the leader learn of her mistake and she casted the remaining gold into the spiraling and dangerous cave system beneath the city, guarded by its monsters alone.

Ripe for adventurers to come and take it, if they dared.

“Oopsie!” declared Laevona as her first decree.

Many years have long passed, a soothsayer proclaimed to a young soul fate.

The Moonlit path he marched upon, one that eclipsed his path towards redemption. She implored the boy to look twice, to not condemn his soul to an eternity of malevolence. The greenhorn, uncertain of his own place in the world and tempted by power, made a greedy request of the entity:

“I want to continue down this path. . .But if I ever change my mind, can you turn me back?"

At that moment, the entity had hope and took a liking to the traveler.

The Starchild did offer a lazy shrug, that creature had little mirth for the wicked: “We’ll see.” As the mischievous grin returned to her features.

Though the Starchild kept a watchful eye of the fool throughout his years, trying to lead him back toward the light, the greedy closed his eyes, and the entity sought they should close for good.

She confronted him once more, lofting a hand.

“If you want to be a skeleton, a skeleton you can be!”

All the Liches senses left him.

His body spun to gold representing his Greed.

A newfound mentality awoke within him.

Confused, wrothful, the Lich pleaded to what he thought was Iblees once more, his sight had failed him, but newfound powers entered his being: and thus, Aratakrast the Gold was born. . .

    At a cost.

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    THE “BLESSING” OF THE STARCHILD

    MECHANICS:

In exchange for the greedy request the Lich must be bound to the curse of Jenny. The creature’s disdain toward the stoic and edgy forces the darkspawn to be bound by a set of whimsical tenets.

The Passive Nature of the Curse:

The Lich will be forced to adhere to an extra set of tenets in addition to his Seer tenets. With the tampering of multiple Djinn against the soul the Lich has lost his magical vision. Unbeknownst to the Djinn his sight and hearing would return at a cost.

    REDLINES:

    • Any attempt to remove the curse results in an irrefutable PK as he turns into a literal mundane skeleton as warned by the Starchild.

    • Intrinsically the Lich would feel an apprehension against removing the curse, as if his instincts warn him not to try.

    • The Lich must adhere to a new set of tenets in addition to his Seer tenets. They stack. With more power comes more responsibility! :3

    • If the Lich breaks a tenet he will polymorph into a pig for 24 OOC hours as per the interference of a Cursed Djinn - The Time Pig, during the ritual.

    • Any attempt to circumvent the tenets in a loophole-ish or legalist manner will morph the Lich into a flightless Owl for 24 OOC hours.

    • The polymorphed Lich’s punishments should not be used to garner any edge such as infiltration or as a disguise. When polymorphed the Lich is subconsciously aware of his vessel but can only act like the animal he is cursed to be and nothing more. To no strategic advantage, any attempt to loophole this redline extends the duration for another 24 hours.

    • If the soul of the Lich is viewed by any means it adheres to the normal effects of viewing a Seer-Liches soul except a purple star would stain the already corrupt soul where the heart would be otherwise.

    Woe to the Fallen:

After the Archlich contributes to, kills, or is an accomplice to the murder of one in possession of an uncorrupted soul, a constant stream of tears would pour from his sockets. The long lost touch of pity, depression, and sadness would re-enter his being. As he felt unending guilt toward his victims. The Lich would feel an inability to touch, move, or interfere with their corpses. Too would he be frozen from participating in any other murders for 12 OOC hours in which he copes with his crimes.

    REDLINES:

    • Uncorrupted souls are defined as: Descendants, Kha, Musin, Sorvians, Machine Spirits or anything in possession of a soul that has not been turned into a dark CA or possesses a dark magic. I.e. Blood Magic, Necromancy, Mysticism, and Naztherak deaths would not trigger this guilt. Neutral magics like the Void, Kani, and even those touched by a non-dark Aenguldaemon would trigger this guilt as well (barring fellow Seers and Demi Djinn as no one knows of the true origin of these creatures and such a tell could reveal it). Automaton and Homunculi deaths also don’t matter as they have no soul.

    • The curse does not trigger in the event the Lich is NOT the initial aggressor. The initial aggressor is defined by who attacks or unsheathes a weapon/begins casting first. This is to allow self defense.

    • Words alone can never be used to justify self defense; there must be an accompanying action to indicate danger.

    • Following the end of an encounter which involved the deaths of one or more uncorrupted souls in which the possessor of this MArt was involved in. MUST trigger a stream of tears from his eye sockets for no less than 5 emotes.

    • Once the effect is triggered the possessor cannot murder another uncorrupted soul or be an accomplice to said murder for 12 OOC hours. Too must the player somehow represent the guilt of the crime committed through rp.

    • Killing while in the “depressed” state will trigger the consequences of the curse as listed under “The Passive Nature of the Curse.”

    • If one feigns death like a Frost Witch or any other manner of trickery or in the event the Lich does not directly witness the death, the Lich will feel this guilt so long as he knowingly believes or perceives them to be dead. This prevents metagame.

    The Laughing Skull:

The Starchild, being an entity of mischief’s influence would force the Lich to rhyme when he speaks in combat. She would never allow him to monologue his evil plots in a stoic fashion being reduced to a comical villain.

    REDLINES:

    • The Lich must rhyme if he speaks in any combative encounter.

    • If he says any singular standalone word, it must be followed with a rhyme so as to not circumvent the spirit of the curse.

    • The Lich does not need to rhyme outside combat.

    Particular Taste:

The Lich cannot consume Lifeforce. Unless he drinks it from his super duper special cup. An object he reveres with the utmost fondness and feels anxiety to be separated from.

    REDLINES:

    • The Lich cannot consume Lifeforce. Unless he drinks it from: Any purple star shaped goblet with a pink J decorated upon it.

    • The Lich can express disdain and be self awareness of his unusual attachment to the device but he can never be rid of his addiction - at the very least he will see it as a guilty pleasure.

    • The Lich is encouraged to always make excuses as to why he can’t drink from anything else.

    Jychosis:

The Lich’s magical sight has been slightly skewed by the interference of multiple Djinn and cultivated by the one who administered the curse, taking upon some of her eccentricities.

    REDLINES:

    • The Lich cannot see through Jenny’s illusions, the curse afflicting his mind and not his sight as gifted by The Witness.

    • All gore and blood is replaced by happier and more whimsical things such as confetti, flowers, stars, and desserts at the players discretion.

    • The Lich will always see Jenny’s face in the sky. The clouds are cotton candy. The grass and flora are made of yarn.

    • The Lich sees all wild beasts that one would find in the real world as stuffed animals.

    • Sometimes the animal's guilt trip him in Jenny’s voice.

    • At times the voice of Jenny can resonate throughout the Lich’s mind, they are not real and cannot be used for anything other than pestering the Lich. As played by FunTzu.

    Compulsive and Greedy:

The Starchild disdained Greed above all else, and the path chosen was anything but charitable. As a result, the Lich would feel a compulsion to collect a variety of things loosely connected to the Starchild, as a constant reminder of his erred choice.

    REDLINES:

    • The Lich feels compelled to collect shiny objects, treasure, and anything that would entice the greedy.

    • The Lich feels a forced compulsion to collect anything white and fluffy, reminding him of an infinitely long white mane.

    • If the Lich ever sees a ball of yarn he must unravel it to its completion, as a result of the ludicrous religion of the "Cosmic Yarn."

    KABLEES’ OCULI

A pair of lustrous gemstones seeded with the residuals of the Archlich, Aratakrast’s soul for their Witness to cling to, acting as both the Lich’s eyes and their Witness’ tool.

Afflicted by a magical blindness and an inability to channel their Witness innately, the Archlich relies on imbued stones to weave their spells, the foul energies congealed from the beyond drawing ire from the divine.

    Modification Creation Ritual

With their Sown eyes shattered, the Lich must undergo a 3 OOC day period of remaking these objects before their Phylactery in order to regain both permanent sight and their Seer spell pool.

    • This is a ritual requiring 3 emotes minimum outside of combat. Requiring a incapacitated or restrained lifeforce bearing player to be drained of a single unit of their lifeforce.

    • Forming this unit in a pair of gemstones, they’re dipped into the Esteemed Heith-Hedran, pairing their Witness to the item.

    • The player would be left alive, although suffers a sickly weakness for 1 OOC day before they recover.

Due to the necromantic nature of these Sown modifications, if the Lich suffers an attack from Holy Magics both their sight and Seer spells are disabled for four emotes. And, if slain by holy deific magics, these oculars will be shattered, sending the Lich’s Witness back into depths of their sanctioned Heith-Hedran; effectively blinding and losing access to their Seer spells upon revival, requiring it to be remade.

    Exhaustion:

    • Each casting of a spell beyond its allotted use (defined at the end of each spell’s mechanic description) the Lich’s sight will blur. If this occurs 3 times through extensive casting in a 24 hour IRL hour window will experience botched translations outlined in the feat section, their sight impaired to an overcoming darkness. The Lich must not engage in combat for 12 IRL hours, unable to cast magic of any sort due to their crippling curse.

Due to Arakrast’s nature, a few mechanics receive unique additions or removal for extra balancing:

    • The Lich is incapable of using any form of Seer spell to disguise or mask their rotting musk and form, including Ritual of Identity.

    • The Lich is incapable of being Sanctioned a third and final time, disallowing them to get a TA in the magic and ascend to Vaseek’s domain as a Witness.

    • Veil in Lies [C] - Instead of invisibility, this instead gives off an ethereal, ghost-like veil over the Lich, appearing as if a wraith. Following all redlines of the original spell, save the ability to be unseen.

    • Invisible Hands of Gods [C] - The hidden, intangible hands instead manifest as bone-like arms and hands, human in proportion which permeate the illusion of extension and retrieval of their object from the Archlich. This follows all redlines of Invisible hands, save the ability to be unseen.

    • The Lich’s cannot see through any of Jenny’s illusions with Truesight.

    REDLINES:

    • If broken by Holy Magics, the Lich is blinded and cannot cast Seer, where they must take 3 OOC days to remake them before their Heith-Hedran. This is a player-led initiative similar to the necromantic ‘icons’ within Necromancy.

    • The ritual requires the victim to be completely bound and/or incapacitated.

    • If hit with Holy Magic, this will disable the use of Seer for four emote rounds. This would completely blind the Lich for the duration of this.

    • The ritual must commence before the Heith-Hedran Phylactery.

    THE ESTEEMED TEAR

This acts as the site of the Lich’s re-ordination which both overflows the land with Lifeforce, stagnating it and shackling the divine influence of  a Witness within a Heith-Hedran.

If sealed via four Druids performing Blight healing or a similar number of Farseers using the  Blessing of Scorthuz to mend the rift, this would permanently disconnect the Archlich from Seerhood; their Witness, spells slots and vision lost, but it would not remove the detriments of the curse of the Starchild, that will forever blight his soul.

In the event the Lich’s eyes are destroyed, requiring to be remade, Aratakrast may regain their sight in the presence of this Rift, albeit warped and distorted to allow for them to refurbish their strength.

    REDLINES:

    • If blinded, the Lich is returned 6 meters of sight in presence of this Rift, unable to discern finer details in their surroundings, their vision blurry and warped.

    • Serving as a thin-veil between the Material World and the depths of the Lifebanks, the Lich’s soul and Witness is tied here by ritualistic runes of Lifeforce. Can be dismantled by four Druids performing Blight Heaing or Farseers with the Blessing of Scorthuz, this would permanently disconnect the Archlich from Seer, devouring both dedicated magic slots which cannot be regained, alongside the denial of the MArt..

    • This must be Mart signed.

    • Like any Heith-Hedran, this stagnates the lands in a 20x20 meter radius, blackening stone and rendering dirt into sand, staling the environment with a black fog.that afflicts living players with flu-like symptoms after one OOC hour of exposure

    Spoiler

With the extra boons that are given to a seer lich, we thought that they should have equally obnoxious tenets and difficulties to balance it out. Sadly, due to the complexities of both combined magics it leaves for a seemingly complex MArt. However, it's pretty straightforward and easy to follow. We also made all the effects thematic to djinn and cheeky references to either djinn spells or djinn tenets - as well as jabs at the nature of the characters. We don't want this to be seen as a minmax but rather a unique character that can use a unique combination of spells to provide a unique narrative. In the right hands of an in good faith player like AntiSociety, I think this would be really fun. :)

    Red Lines of the Artifact:

    EXTRA REDLINES:

    • The esteemed is incapable of being Sanctioned a third time, unable to pass on the blessings of Vaseek.

    • Beholden to Vaseek’s tenets to a greater degree due to their reordination, failure to abide by them will immediately disconnect the Esteemed, devouring both spell slots and robbing him of sight.

    • In the event of their disconnection, the Lich bereft of their sight permanently might apply Corpse-vision to rectify this.

    • The Blessings of the Starchild remain even if Disconnected.

Explanation of the effect(s) (i.e. how it does what it does - slight bending of magic lore is allowed):

    How it works:

The Lifebanks is a tapestry of energy separated by a thin, metaphysical veil which confines pure lifeforce and the souls of Necromancers and Undead even able to reach into the afterlife. The Heith-Hedran serve as a doorway, which we used to pull Aratakrast's soul and confine it there with runes inscribed with Necromantic and Djinn powers. Jenny cursed his soul to lose his magical sight, which led to the possibility of getting his powers back. However, a side affect of the curse was left by the combination of the mischievous creatures. (Similar to MArts that have been touched by Jenny's influence before, manifesting as obnoxious mental detriments).

Vaasek would take a liking to the odd gaslight of the djinn, it would be a perfect cover up for his own influence, and would use it to further sow his own ambitions of schemes and information gaining. Each tenet and each punishment in reference to either a Djinn spell, Djinn tenet, or a trait of one of the multiple Djinn involved (including 1 cursed djinn).

    Creator's RP Name:

             Ferrus Vuiller, Obok Metaldrinks

Briefly explain the lore behind this construct or creature:

An automaton is a usually descendant sized, and made in the likeness of such - it is an artificial life form that consists of metal plating like a meat/skeleton, and leather tubes that flow lifeblood from its gearheart throughout the entirety of the construct. Lifeblood is an artificial alchemical liquid that acts in place of blood. Their senses too are artificial sensory modules like a voice module, vision module etc. Despite being artificial, their capabilities cannot be greater than that of a descendant. They have no soul. Any emotions a construct would feel would be artificial. The gearheart is the core of the construct and if it is completely destroyed an Automaton cannot be brought back to life, a new gearheart must be constructed, albeit it'll be a completely different creature. It takes 4 heavy jabs from a sword, or 3 mace hits to a gearheart, by puncturing the plate to disable it and shut down its function. If a gearheart is damaged and the unit shuts down it can be restored by the reparation of its gearheart. The gearheart also possesses all the memories of the creature. The creature's intelligence is located in an intelligence vessel which usually possesses an obedience vessel, the obedience vessel contains directives as written by their maker that cannot be disobeyed, the creature's morals and ambitions are completely directed by the instructions given in the obedience vessel. Automatons have the ability to overclock: A major overlock doubles their strength for two emotes and then promptly knocks them unconscious for the rest of the rp scenario. It also increases speed by 2 mechanical blocks. A minor overclock increases strength by 25% for 4 emotes and speed by 1 mechanical block, and after halves their strength for the rest of the rp encounter.

If this construct or creature has some form of aesthetic choice, can you describe how they look?

Castigator Superior is a unit made in the likeness of a descendant female. It is orc sized. It has a blue color stained hairplate that runs along the course of its body. She is ready 2 party.

  10. Jenny threw the missive upwards in a fit of disappointment from comically large chair far too big for her as papers flew all over "WHAT?!? THEY STOPPED BEFORE THE BEST PART!" She'd yell at the paper like an indignant sports fan watching a soccer game on a small TV "AAGGGHHH THEY CANCELLED MY NEW FAVORITE REBELLION!"
