“Dearest Citizens of Arcas,

I bring with this missive news of the greatest treachery, words to which indicate those of unstable mind and to which an absence of consular officiality proceeds. The Principality of Alderyn lay within utmost ruin, the populace having abandoned its once grandest halls and foremost council members flocking within fear of irrelevance.  

In response the Mali’thill of Haelun’or dared not turn back upon those which once extended a hand of gratitude, once truly held us from an abyss of extinction to which we would’ve fallen. With grace we offered an extension of our alliance, taking responsibility of their sovereignty to which they were now undeserving. To offer them a foundation upon which to rebuild and renew, to once more stabilise the Mali Commonwealth upon which we, as had Alderyn’s kings and queens in the past, continue to strive towards.

However today I offer an unfortunate, and sorrowful veracity for the denizens of this mortal realm. That those of current Alderyn leadership lack any of the once graceful, diplomatic nature of their predecessors. Instead they seek an illogical standoff upon those once considered close allies, repudiating any help issued to them with a harsh groundless criticism of leadership. They have sauntered into our city, whilst our council welcomed them with the open arms of allies, to simply derode any historical correspondence without fear of consequence.

Understand I simply offer those of equal footing a warning, that those of the cursed Alderyn state are not to be trusted. That despite all offered, worked towards and gained, their process of leadership shall always seek to dismantle attempts of unity. For them any form of federation is against their instinctual cultural partisanship.

With the unfolded events of this elven day, the Apostates of Alderyn have denounced any efforts of the Silver & Sovereignty treaty. Sole responsibility for the departure of a vigorous pact bares the weight of their treachery.

“Citizens of the Silver Enclave,

I address you this evening as an equal, as the Laurir of our blessed council. I address you upon the most principal of topics that seeks to bring our nation to its knees, collapsing it upon a ruin of ash. I speak of course of the Sillumiran, supposed guardians of the mali’thill people.

For what seems moments ago a crime of most harrowing nature was brought before me, I wish not express the finite details I could bare to witness myself but it was a sight of true horror. Blood splattered on walls, drawn into chaotic runic marks that seemingly called upon the darkest of draoi arts. With the corpses scattered, any resemblance of our directive and mandates have been completely discarded into the abyss. Meanwhile those striving within ignorance continue to utter words of revolt and disarray, for this we cannot stand any longer.

Our blessed Silver Enclave has reached the border of mental endurance, if we continue without action then we shall be cast aside into a nationwide catastrophe to which moderation and patience are disregarded. If we are to preserve the hope of our people, to preserve the way of life we’ve come to own and adore then we must act. We must prevent this confrontation of our path, and thus we declare the following within solidarity as the selected leaders of our council.

I declare that of today, the Sillumiran faces a temporary measure of abdication. Instead replaced with a militaristic council of national orientation. With the unfortunate vacancy of an Okarir’tir I have concluded this be the only appropriate method of continuing, and with such raise the Maheral to a position of absolute militaristic authority until this crisis can be resolved. I wish for the citizenry to understand our motivations and goals, for we seek not to change the ways of our people but instead allow us to centre upon what truly matters.

This declaration of the newly formed council of national orientation shall be published following this missive, defining the terms and standards of appropriate public order. I assure you as one of your own, as the situation of our vulnerability comes to gradually stabilise the freedoms of public life will be restored. However to ensure that national interest preservers in moments of hardship we must not count upon weakness or indecision.

As a sovereign state we must resolve this crisis ourselves, restoring stability of our own accord.

The Regulations of Temporary Martial Law

Until further notice, the following laws are enacted and enforced. All citizenry of the Silver Enclave are to respect and follow them without question.

[I ]:    The Sillumiran are temporarily disbanded; with their ranks redistributed into an alternative agency of internal authority. Any laws established within the Silver Enclave are to be ENFORCED, with the direct orders of its leading members followed without question.

[II]:    With the absence of an Okarir’tir, Maheral Dimaethor Visaj is arisen to the highest authority of all militaristic matters. His responsibilities are elevated to ensure to establishment and pursuit of the MAEHR’SAE HILYUN’EHYA, with any further action required being received without further approval.

[III]:    A minor purity tribunal is able to be called upon any citizen without clause, to ensure their commitment towards the ideals of the mali’thill. If questions arise without answer, or they are shown to be disobedient towards the path of silver they are liable to be punished with a maximum of a SECOND TIER infraction.

[IV]:    Private property and possessions are to be presented without resistance upon request, with any concerning material of UNREST or DEGRADATION to be bought before immediate trial. Should they be considered to be of risk to mali’aheral society, a FOURTH TIER punishment may be considered.

[V]:    To ensure the absence of further traitorous and unsafe material from entering the Silver Enclave, the gate policy shall be enforced to its fullest extent. Foreign people shall be INTERROGATED and with any suspicion turned away. Those mali’thill without adequate explanation for their departure may be bought before tribunal.

“Citizenry of the Silver Enclave,

Today I bring two complimentary missives, one detailing vast change within the current governmental structure and another seeking the consultation of the collective wisdom.

The first is recognition of change towards the seats upon which the council resides. Raewynn Visaj has stepped away from her role due to departing the Silver Enclave, with myself taking ownership of the Laurir designation until further notice. Nerithil Valareith shall lead our pursuits of knowledge from the mantle of Okarir’maehr and Delos Telperion will fill the void left by myself as Okarir’san.

But such developments have resulted within an unfortunate absence, the Sillumiran require guidance from a watchful Okarir’tir. One of authority to usher in a new era of militaristic ambition, one that shall reflect the true jurisdiction of our great enclave of silver. Thus we turn to the people, to nominate themselves or another to lead with valiance and aptitude.

Okarir’tir

The Okarir’tir is the commander of the military, referred to as the Sillumir. They are responsible for the protection of the Silver State and her people, the preservation of the Mali’thill way of life, as well as for the achievement of success on the battlefield. The Okarir’tir is appointed as the defender of maehr’sae hiylun’ehya; progress and health and in such have the authority to remove any of those they deem an obstacle to such.

Whilst the Silver Enclave of Haelun’or remains indebted towards the Kingdom of Gladewynn for their assistance within restoring unity and stability for the mali’aheral people, the time to acknowledge change has come about. The sovereignty to which we sacrificed in honour to our people, to bring them together, is something to which must be restored once more. Hence with the following proposed terms, we have managed to restore an alliance between our two great nations that shall only come to bring even greater unity between the ‘ame and ‘thill.

The Terms, agreed upon by both nations, are as followed:

[I ]:    The Protectorate of Haelun’or is hereby disestablished; its lands, people and resources are restored beneath a new sovereign state, the Silver Enclave of Haelun’or. It holds the right to manage all internal and external affairs, including conference and diplomacy in regards to international relations.

[II]:    The Kingdom of Gladewynn and the newly formed Silver Enclave of Haelun’or shall be unified in an alliance of military, trade and information. Both states hold absolute responsibility of mutual defense, agreeing to provide military support when the sovereignty of another is at risk.

[III]:    No restriction of movement shall be enforced between the two nations, providing the person in question has not been explicitly banished by the governing body. In any circumstance neither nation is obliged to extradite figures deemed unlawful by the other.

[IV]:    Both nations recognise the Royarch of the Elves as the one and only true representative of the Wood Elven people, and the Maheral of Haelun’or as the one and only true representative of the High Elven people. This agreement reaches across every realm, known or unknown.

[V]: In circumstance of establishing external alliances outside of this treaty, both nations must prior agree to the terms when proposed and also adhere to a mutual agreement with the nominated nation.

Those signed beneath pledge their names and respective nations to the terms in unanimity,  bound by blood to the oath in which they commit.

To the esteemed citizenry of Haelun’or,

Since my return, it has come to my attention that specific members of the council continue to forsake their responsibilities. I have chosen to tolerate this with the understanding that they shall return to their duties, taking upon the roles to which they have once promised.

Unfortunately, despite the patience of both myself and the mali’thill people this hope has been drastically misplaced. We have arrived at a time where even the grand walls of the Silver Enclave are shadowed by a partition that has come to manifest, the people have become divided and lend credence to the maehr’sae hiylun’ehya. However the delegation is not to be seen, the catalyst of unity that our people require has gone, leaving only ash in its place. We require members of the governing body to once more become public, uprooting the solidarity of intrigue and removing the traitorous ideas to which egomania has allowed to foster. But nothing has been done.

Hence why I issue this official challenge to Master Aldir’tor, the Okarir’thill of Haelun’or. It is at moments like these where your responsibility to guard purity has been vastly neglected. The people are suspended within a period of ambivalence, the truth obscured due to the tribunals that still await beginnings. The Diraar whose duty was to protect the mali’thill and uproot the sources of degradation have only become unprincipled and unaligned, with none to guide them to the correct path. The private life of citizens has descended to a point that a shroud must be removed from those that seek to hide, yet instead they are given the conditions to proliferatie and befoul. It is time to take responsibility for your absence and allow another to cleanse these conditions which have been allowed to swell.

I, Ardryll Morvael, deliver this missive of no confidence and consequent challenge to Aldir’tor, with the intention to take over his role within the governing body as Okarir’thill. Should he wish to counter my opposition, then I await his response before all those of Haelun’or he has betrayed.

11th of The Amber Cold, 1659 - Recent Book Arrivals

The Library of Dragur was founded originally within Athera 1493 (165 years ago) through the combined efforts of Orithur, Aedrex and a council of advisors. Whilst at first its existence was withheld from public eye, across the next two centuries its collection would be opened and become a public resource for any and all to use. From a humble beginning the collection continued to expand, until now it exists as one of the most rich wells of knowledge within the entirety of Atlas. With over 1250 books and a museum displaying over 60 unique artifacts, the library remains open to the public for their own explorations into its depths of knowledge. It can be found just before the Whispering Crossroads, merely a few minutes away from the Cloud Temple itself.

The Library offers two alternative means of obtaining book copies from our shelves.

I. Unique Texts

The first option the library offers is a book for a book, should you write or find a book unique to our collection we may offer you a copy of any book within return. The topic does not matter, as long as the library does not currently have it within its possession the trade is acceptable.

II. Copy Fee

Under the circumstances you’re unable to provide a book to trade, the library may also produce a copy for a fee of 100 mina per. Whilst this is an option, the first is often encouraged among those that wish to obtain copies.  

Throughout the many lands there have been numerous documents without proper binding; official papers, stories, guides, etcetera. The library seeks to preserve these within proper form, and thus offers a free service for any who hold one of these documents. Providing us with a copy, we shall catalog and produce a leather bound book containing its information. In turn, we shall provide you with a copy of said book in thanks for your contribution to the library. If you’ve further questions regarding this service speak to a scholar within the library.

(( We’ll happily take any google docs/forum posts you have that need converting into an IG book and provide you with a copy of it. Just ask if you’ve any questions. ))

A scholar for the Library of Dragur is one who works the halls of the library, but that alone is not their responsibility. They not only aim to preserve the knowledge already uncovered but seek to uncover the main secrets the various lands have to offer, exploring and chronicling their expeditions or working away within a laboratory. Whilst the current collection is vast, there is always something left uncovered or without written account. For that is a scholars true responsibility, to ensure these discrepancies are uncovered and filled in. For any who seek to become such a person, then please speak with the Head Librarian.  Please be aware the application process is a two part process;

I. Written Book: The applicant is expected to produce a written book of their own hand, it could be of any topic however it cannot be by another author. This is to ensure the applicant is able to produce texts for the library that are of suitable quality.

II. Interview: After the book has been produced, an interview will occur between the applicant and the interviewee. This is in order to judge not only if they’re right for the role, but understand it within its many responsibilities.

The application process is continuously open, as new scholars are always in demand. If the Head Librarian isn’t present please note your interest with any scholar within the library, who shall contact them promptly.

I'd say quite the opposite. Players standards have significantly risen since the days of Asulon, if you were to provide such a map without any context it'd be taken more harshly than anything else.

It's all about time management and ensuring you actually keep to it. Map (Don't do the three map system again, I was told its premise was to help remove lag, however, it, unfortunately, did not work!) needs to be done as soon as possible, not even to pay something but to provide enough time to drastically improve it by hand. We started planning in December but didn't receive a tangible map since May, the next came June and the final July. Time is everything. 

Edit: The community also had to be considerate towards the lack of experience of people in charge of map development. I thought I could make a great map until I started making one. If I were to do it again I'd do so much differently and have no doubt it'd be 100% better than what we have currently. But.. well, bluntly put **** that. 

I'm just going to chisel out a few thoughts, as the main 'lead' within map development for Axios. I'll state I'm not trying to blame anymore for actions that have occurred, nor defend myself. If anything I acknowledge I made fatal flaws within the production of the map, but in essence, everyone is a genius within hindsight. 

I did just write out quite an intensive story about the production of the map but realised that within reality very few care about the production process, the true subject is the finished product. I will state there were an unbelievable amount of issues present during its creation, Tahn was far too big for its own good but due to a significant lack of time, we didn't have the choice to go elsewhere. Other maps were given to us that actually in many aspects were better than Tahn, but, they were even bigger. 

My main piece of advice to whoever takes the monumentally stressful and tiring process of map creation allow it to be your creative vision. Take the thoughts of the community and process that into a final product, when I created the map I had so many.. voices? Tythus had asked me to create three different maps, 501 was working on obtaining maps and the playerbase wished for a summer release. I tried to listen to them all and it mostly flopped like a sack of potatoes. My end vision was malformed until it just became something we were forced to rush out within 'playable status'. When you work on something for so long, with so much consistent failure.. It's just difficult to continue onward within a progressive manner. Try to avoid relying on too many people also (rip manpower plugin). 

I suppose what I'm trying to say is don't underestimate map development. It honestly is a hellish task that isn't as simple as anyone would hope. A vision is only so much.
