  1. Unbelievably friendly and easy-to-approach guy. In terms of RP, every character he plays has the most intimate backstory and traits, and he educates himself on lore with unbelievable speed. Honestly, Jordan generates the kind of RP that every new player should aspire to produce, and with his guidance, we'll undoubtedly see a new level of depth and professionalism from applicants. +1

Accepted. Welcome to Da Sirk oz Aurok!

  3. Even when he was only a child in the orphanage we knew he would grow up to be a great man because all the other kids were mean to him and he always trained really hard and he wanted to be the best and to escape and to kill the bad guys and that's why it's sad that he died and I will miss him

  4. Da Sirk oz Aurok

    “The Way of Gold”

                                                                                                                                                                     592b28b7174b7_MerchantsGuild.png.2964d0992ed51780267eb8d449b19ef7.png

          “Greed is our gift.”

Urguani society has been infiltrated by lethargy. Long gone are the days when our vaults were stockpiles of gems and wealth, now filled with trinkets and objects of some distant importance. Since when has The Grand Kingdom of Urguan sought for economic equality? Should the resources and financial dominance not belong to those who have earned them?

Da Sirk oz Aurok intends to redeem the economic dominance our noble race once held. We must shelter and nurture our merchants, spurred on by their “cursed” greed to toil for more and more wealth. The ability to gather and maintain vast amounts of minae is a blessing indeed. Our goal is to preserve the capitalist nature of our people and protect a society in which those who work, earn.

Note – To dispel a common misunderstanding, we are not the enemies of Red Urguan. We value the work done by this group, and see it as necessary for the continuing survival of our nation. We simply disagree on the assumption that merchants amassing wealth is a bad thing; as these merchants have done copious amounts of work to reach the monetary standpoint they now occupy. We will support Red Urguan’s efforts to encourage labour within Urguan, but will defend the right to earn money by any and all merchants or entrepreneurs.

Organisation – Da Sirk oz Aurok will be arranged in a hierarchical manner with the Grand Merchant at its peak, followed by Financial Advisors, Senior Merchants, Merchants and Newcomers. The Grand Merchant’s role will be to organise and oversee the group’s duties, such as creating a registry of salespeople within the group and facilitating the sale of Prize Bonds, the issuing of loans, etc. They are not necessarily the wealthiest member of the guild, but the administrative leader, chosen by their predecessor based on their ability to govern effectively. (For a full list of the group’s services, read on). The Financial Advisors will offer suggestions to the members of the group, being wealthy dwedmar themselves, on how to grow their finances. The other members will be the merchants of Urguan who have joined the guild, benefitting from its perks.

Grand Merchant – Aldal Ireheart ((Soggy365))

Financial Advisors – Nchmgar Doomforged ((Agamm)), Dwain Irongut ((Hiebe))

    Senior Merchants –

    Merchants –

    Newcomers – Baldin Frostbeard ((mateolog))

Services – Da Sirk oz Aurok is essentially about one thing and one thing only; the protection of the merchant’s trade. This, we believe, can be achieved in a number of ways:

    -          We offer a “grow your wealth” programme for up-and-coming salespeople. We will pay the rent for you on a shop for a set amount of time, which you can then pay back following the agreed period (with added interest of 10%). This allows even the poorest of Urguan to own and utilise a shop, through which to gain capital.

    -          We arrange the sale of Prize Bonds. Simply purchase a bond to be in with a chance of winning a lump sum of minae at the end of one stone month. This facilitates the flow of minae within the Kingdom and encourages people to save their money to invest in these bonds, spurring them to become merchants and in turn increasing the wealth of the group.

    -          Our Financial Advisors are on hand to provide first-hand knowledge on earning capital and how to maintain a healthy business.

    -          Da Sirk oz Aurok will offer loans to those who require them, with added interest on repayments.

    -          Da Sirk oz Aurok will arrange a medium through which to purchase a share in the profits of a business, at the owner’s request.

    -          The group will offer supplements to new businesses (seeds for farmers, etc.) for a share of an agreed value in the profits of said business.

    -          We will stockpile and control the flow of certain resources to allow for the prosperity of Urguan in terms of our economy.

    -          We will guarantee a “resignation purchase” of any of our businesses which do not do well. This means that if you have registered a business with us which ultimately fails, we will purchase all of its resources and products off you for a fixed amount.

    -          We will offer a “resignation support” fund/once-off pension for a Senior Merchant of ours who leaves after at least two stone months of work for the group.

OOC Notice - Due to having exams in the coming weeks, the group's services will be unavailable at present. I intend to have our guild ready to go in or around the 14th of June. Between now and then, I will be campaigning for backing by the Kingdom and registering members in advance, so feel free to apply. However, it will be at least this date before we have a base from which to operate and can dish out loans, supplements, etc. - Soggy365

  5. Aldal grips the hard stone wall to support himself as the news is delivered. His face is drawn into an expression of confusion and horror, his blue eyes welling up with tears.

"Igor an' Bastion, an' Kjell too... Oi've seen an 'ole loine o' kin, some truleh close friends, pass aweh an' venture tehr Khaz'A'Dentruum, whoile moi bones age an' ah waste away 'ere en this world. Why did this 'appen, tehr a youn' lad en 'is proime... such sorrows 'ave befallen 'is famileh, oi can 'ardly take eht. 'E wus a good king, a worldly diplomat, an' 'e 'as left a foine legacy."

With some effort, the dwed turns to the rest of his kin, thrusting a fist into the air and shouting, his voice raked by tears.

"Deh King es dead, Long Live The King!"

  6. Aldal Ireheart beckons for the residents of Kal'Omith, and anyone visiting the city on the day, to follow him. He hauls himself onto the base of a statue in the city's main square, coughing once to clear his throat. After waiting for silence to descend on the curious masses, he begins to speak in a deep, rumbling baritone.

"People of Urguan, kind visitors, allies. I come to you today to speak on a certain topic which has recently gripped our Kingdom. It saddens me to see that our people, proud and true, would slander and berate the likes of the Frostbeard and Grandaxe Clans for their decision to establish Clan Holds. Aye, they have distanced themselves from Kal'Omith. However, this move was not without reason. Indeed, as many of you are now aware, these two powerful clans had the foresight and wisdom to vacate a crumbling Kingdom when they realised that our system could not sustain itself much longer. I have lived a long life. I have seen Empires fall and rise again, reborn from the ashes of brutal war. From Thorin's aggressive expansionism to Bastion's diplomatic allying, there is not much these two eyes have missed. Many times during such reigns as these, monumental in their scope, has uncertainty dawned. Many times have the sons and daughters of Urguan stared long and hard at their reflections and thought; is there not a better way? We are not destroying the old. We are not casting out the history of Urguan, nor are we forsaking our traditions and honour. We are adapting. Changing and morphing, to reflect a world which itself is in a time of renewal. For our kind to thrive, we must roll with the punches and become as flexible as our society requires."

He stares long and hard at the crowd, allowing his words to sink in.

"Many of our clans, the direct lines of Urguan himself, are faced now with the prospect of extinction. And yet, these clans spit in the faces of their larger counterparts and refuse to share the same holds as them? This is no less than blasphemous; without unity, without compromise, the weakest of our clans may yet be purged from this world and lost forevermore. I would not see this happen. Do not be so prideful and cynical, if your clan is weakening, request aid from the larger clans, who will have no issue in offering you support. We can not survive nor thrive alone. We are brothers and sisters, forged by Yemekar from the very stone of the earth, and we can only hold fast as one unified people. I suggest that the Grandaxe and Frostbeard holds offer some sort of incubation service for clans of declining numbers; perhaps some small space put aside to allow the remaining members of the aforementioned clans to rebuild their numbers and reestablish their honour. However, only with the cooperation of the smaller clans will this ever come to fruition."

Aldal's voice rises to a passionate shout as he continues, gesturing wildly with his hands as he speaks.

"We are the sons and daughters of Urguan! Do you know what that means? Petty squabbles and trust issues must not separate us! We are a proud people, noble and strong. We have never been vassalised by other nations, and our wrath has made the ground beneath our feet shake at many points throughout history. Why have we forgotten this? I make a plea to you all now, in these uncertain times. Put aside your differences. Live in harmony in the holds of other clans, if they will allow it, and work until your clans have restored themselves. Do not flee at the first sign of weakness, scurrying to some distant patch of ground and disassociating yourselves from your kin. We will only survive, together. We will only succeed, together. We will only stand the test of time, together. Dwedmar of Urguan, a temple without pillars will fall. Our clans are the pillars of our society, and we are allowing only a handful to bear the weight of our nation. Rise up, rebuild the pillar that is your clan, and stand proud once more as the noble descendants of our wise forefather. If you must live, for a time, in the halls of another clan, so be it. It is better to reside in the halls of a fellow dwed while renewing your clan than to rush to some foreign peak, never to be heard from again. This time of change will be challenging, and we may feel obliged to duck and escape. But time and time again, our people have prospered. Time and time again, our systems have been adjusted to allow our kin to persevere against the odds. This time will be no different. Band together as brothers, as sisters, as kinsmen and as dwedmar, and restore the honour of your people in the face of uncertainty!"

With a tremendous bellow, thrusting a gauntlet into the air, Aldal finishes his speech.

    "Narvak oz Urguan!"

  7. "None o' whut ye mentioned is illegal," replies Aldal Ireheart, "Large-scale public demonstrations o' adoration fehr non-Brath, such as statues an' deh loike, en public areas, is forbidden. 'Owever, a Prophet would beh in a better position tehr comment on yehr proposals."

Maxwell would note dwarves are a collective and humans are a race of many cultures and kinds. Not just 3 united subraces. He would think this dwarf should learn the full story before saying such things.

Aldal Ireheart never denied this? Having spent four stone years in the realm, this was common sense.

"Indeed, the dwarves speak of honour yet know none. They've even used the Black Scourge to fight of Carrion in a previous realm and they claim themselves honourable? What a laugh." Adds Felix Fitch.

Aldal would note that if humans were held accountable for all the dishonours done by their kind in previous realms, every single one would burst into flame.

  13. Aldal Ireheart reads Wulfgar's missive closely, gathering to him anyone that would wish to hear his thoughts on it.

"Let eht beh known tha' oi wos deh 'igh Prophet tha' legitimoised Wyrvun followin' 'is purification by Igor. Oi wos deh dwed tha' named 'im Brathmordakin. Oi tell yehr now, all o' yeh, oi wos wrong. Wyrvun wos nae made durin' deh creation o' deh greater gods, an' nae Brathmordakin would beh corrupted by Khorvad's taint, nae matter 'ow strong eht beh. Oi support Wulfgar en this endeavour; public worship o' Wyrvun nae longer 'as a place. Pray tehr 'im en yehr 'omes, an' clan 'alls, but do nae place 'im besoide deh Brathmordakin en terms o' power ehr respect."

  14. Aldal Irehearts strolls forward to the great altar which dominates the layout of the Temple of The Brathmordakin in Kal'Omith. He seems at ease now, as though a great weight has fallen from his shoulders. His usual accent held back with an effort to allow for anyone listening to understand him, he begins to speak in a deep, bass rumble.

"Sons and daughters of Urguan, visitors from foreign lands, all of you good people gathered here today. I make this speech on a subject you have all long expected, and it is to be my last speech as Prophet of Anbella. The clergy has failed you. In recent years, to the fault of many and not just any one factor, its activity has fallen greatly and it is but a husk of its former self. This is no state for the religion of a proud nation. Many of our members have been gone from time to time, entertaining other duties in various other aspects of their lives. This is unacceptable from religious leaders, and I make no effort to distinguish myself from them, for I was part of the problem. It is for this reason that I have decided to humbly take my leave from Da Kirkja Dverga today, after making a few appointments. It would be a woeful crime for myself, or for any other clergy members who lack the passion that this vocation requires, to carry on aimlessly with their work, when we could so easily resolve this issue with the promotion of people who will truly value and cherish the roles they are set to be given."

The flame-haired dwarf looks into the eyes of all those assembled in the monumental temple, coughing into his free hand to clear up his throat before continuing at the top of his voice.

"Da Kirkja Dverga requires strong leadership and devotion to rise from its ashes. Many moons ago, a prophesy was made, a prophesy which foresaw the arrival of fresh blood to our ancient institution, and as a result of this, a new era of change and success for the clergy. That time is now, the prophesy almost fulfilled. Our ranks have been flooded once more with devoted dwedmar, who have thrown themselves willingly into the hustle and bustle of religious fervor. They have, time and time again, proven their worthiness more than even the current leadership of the clergy has. As such, they have shown themselves as more able and willing to lead than any who now do. Where we foresaw the coming of one brilliant dwed to take up the reins of this age-old establishment, we were wrong. Indeed, three such dwedmar of Urguan, who I have listed previously, presented themselves before us. Their actions, viewed often by many of you, the populace of Kal'Omith, were influenced by the Brathmordakin themselves and shone a light on the true scope of their faith. Wulfgar Grandaxe, Morug Goldhand and Baldin Frostbeard, step forward."

Aldal examines each of the dwarves as they bow to the vast monument representing Yemekar which stands behind the altar. He waits until they raise their heads, and then speaks once more, clearer and more loudly than before.

"Here, people of Kal'Omith, stand the pride of Da Kirkja Dverga. Three dedicated, faithful dwedmar who embody the very essence of our religion and are vessels of the gods' will. However, only one dwed can stand above the rest as our link with the gods. His work, while very nearly matched by his compatriots', shimmered above and beyond the rest, and portrayed to us, the Council of Prophets, his virtue. That dwarf is Morug Goldhand, High Prophet of Da Kirkja Dverga! He will usher our proud people into a new age of glory. Such will be the influence of the new High Prophet's clergy that all true children of Urguan shall, once again, tremble at the might of the Brathmordakin, and offer their services willingly to their religion! A new era is coming friends. It is an era of happiness for all of Urguan's sons and daughters, and the dwed at its helm will be the High Prophet."

He then waits for the cheers of the crowds to die down, before addressing Wulfgar and Baldin.

"Do not be disheartened. For you, noble dwed of great faith, shall rise with Morug to glory. You shall guide him, loyal and steadfast, as his Prophets. You two shall join Gror Ireheart, Prophet of Dungrimm, as members of the Council of Prophets. With this having been said, I will take my leave of the clergy. I thank you all for the support you have shown me throughout these years. Tharggus Irongut, also, has withdrawn his membership from the Council of Prophets. This means that, aside from Wulfgar, Gror and Baldin, a space for one further Prophet remains. Morug himself shall elect this candidate. I beseech each and every one of you to enter clergy life, if you should so choose, and assist the new leadership of Da Kirkja Dverga with the renewal of faith they have set in motion."

With a deep bow, Aldal Ireheart finishes his speech. He gestures towards the new Council of Prophets and High Prophet, calling for applause. With his speech done, he slips into the crowd of dwarves in the temple, whispering, "Narvak oz Yemekar."

  15. Honestly can't +1 enough. Not only is Zezimus the friendliest and most down-to-earth guy, but he is essentially the Yoda of dwarf lore, and history in general. He's always explained history and lore in great-depth to anyone who required it, as well as not being afraid to ask questions of current lore that doesn't seem to fit. He's the perfect candidate for the role.
