In-Character Information: Complete the following biography on your character: Full Name: Brurid Ulren Current Age: 29 Sub-race (if any): Northerner Past / History (include childhood, major-events, etc. 2+ paragraphs long): Childhood: Born into a family of factory workers in the city of Aldersberg, Brurid developed an admiration for industry. The efficiency and beauty of a thousand men all working together to complete a single goal enthralled him from a young age. Naturally, as he grew older, he threw his helping hands into the fires of industry. This hard work engrained a mantra of always "getting things done" at any cost. This has long been the reputation that he has carried. If you need anything to be completed or "acquired" in the city of Aldersberg, Brurid is the man to get it done. Whether it be hard physical labor or something as simple as pest extermination, Brurid was the person to go to. However, three days after his 19th birthday, tragedy struck. As stated before, Brurid's family were all factory workers. Meaning they worked hard and when they got home, with dirt and grime covering their bodies, they enjoyed a nice tall glass of ale from time to time. While Brurid was off chasing his latest womanly prospect, his family drank just a little too much. During that particular night, Brurid's sister, forgot to put out one of the candles before she passed out. The fire quickly spread from the wick to the curtains and within a few minutes, the entie house was ablaze. That following morning, after the flames had been put out by some nearby samaritans, Brurid learned what had become of his family. Newly orphaned and with a house reduced to embers, Brurid had nowhere to sleep and no money in his pocket. The first year of this new life were the hardest on him. Sleeping on the street and doing whatever work he could find. The shock of all of his kin being engulfed in flame had destroyed his "can-do" attitude and he found himself in dire straits. At the age of 20, Brurid decided to leave Aldersberg for greener pastures. For the next five years, Brurid wandered the world, doing what he does best (Manual labor) and scraping by at whatever amount of minnas he could make. Presently, Brurid is a mercenary that does any job that's given to him. He is quickwitted and strong thanks to his factory working experience and he is well known amongst his clients as a man that gets the job done at any cost. This "at-all-costs" attitude is what has led him to the moderate success that he sees today. Living on a barely-liveable amount of money in the city of Kingston. Ambitions for the Future: To land a job big enough to retire on. No more fighting, killing, and hunting for random strangers who will give him money. Personality: To many people, he is very quiet and cold. This trait just runs in his Northern blood. However, while many Northerners are just "thinking", Brurid is actually considering the costs and benefits of socializing with this person. Will they be able to provide him with money? Food? Shelter? If not, he has no use for them. He generally only befriends or opens up to people who he feels can provide him with something. He does, however, have a few very close friends. However, the status of his friendship is only met through some form of life debt or shield-brotherhood. Many of his close friends have either fought alongside him in battle or, in some cases, saved his life. Skills: Trained and deadly mercenary, good with bows and swords. Years of physical labor have left him strong and as a result, he can hit hard. He is also cunning and decisive when there is a profit at stake. He is renowned amongst other mercenaries as the man who has the solution to everything. That is, of course, if this solution will result a successful contract. He is ruthless and will go to any length to complete his contracts. Appearance (this must include an in-game screenshot of your skin): Tall, pale skinned, orange hair with a long beard. And traditional Northern wear! http://imgur.com/gH9RXkQ,LOHIG3L Any other details you wish to share about your character: Open-Response-Questions Each question in this section must be answered with a minimum of one paragraph which must describe the event in full. Please be as descriptive as possible and do not break character or lore at any point. ____ 1. Whilst in the mighty human capital you notice a dark-clothed figure stealthily making his way towards the Emperor’s palace - he is clearly up to no good. There are guards within shouting distance - what do you do? Answer: I consider my options. He could be a thief, murderer, or a darkly dressed farmer who tends to sulk around a lot. If he were the latter, I'd be thrown into the dungeon for assault. That would really set me back on retirement! No, I'll just wait here and if he does something bad, there surely would be a nice juicy bounty placed on his head. And that, I can get behind! 2. Whilst wandering in the deep oak forest you come across a large clearing, in which sits a small cobbled cottage. Outside it stands an unstable old man armed with a small iron blade, surrounded by two heavily armed bandits - they appear to be threatening him. You are armed with leather armour and an iron longsword, how do you react? Answer: I am duty bound to defend the old man, of course. There is honor in this fight and I know for a fact that these men are bad. Unlike the darkly dressed man at the palace. I spring into action and dispatch the bandits very easily. Admist the action I take note of the man's belongings. Gold, especially. When the fighting is over I ask for my reward! 3. You are standing within the mighty human capital when you notice a small man standing behind a colourful stall. You approach the stall and notice that the man is selling a variety of general goods - he says that he is selling just about anything and that he has no set prices. He is willing to allow you to haggle and choose prices. What do you do? (Explain: your haggling, items of choice and the discussion that happens). Answer: I see a very nice golden statue that would fetch me a pretty penny on the market. Instinct takes over and I spring into the old addage of "Buy low, sell high." I try to haggle him down to the lowest possible price of 100 minas. He denies this and I step back a second to consider my options. I give him a counter offer of 100g and any job he needs done. He tells me he has a rat problem in some of his wares and in about an hour I stop his infestation and walk off with a golden statue worth a huge sum of money acquired within an hour! This will definitely help towards my retirement.
