DECLARATION FROM THE OFFICE OF THE VICE-CHANCELLOR

A silence fell over the Basilica of the Ascended Godfrey, clergymen prayed silently while nuns and other laywomen wept tears from their eyes. Knights from the Supreme Order of Exalted Owyn stood guard over an open casket, carrying the body of the late High Pontiff Tylos I. Young acolytes stood still on either side of the coffin, carrying tall candles out of reverence for the late Pontiff. His sudden death had come as a shock to all, left great sorrow in the hearts of all the faithful, clergy and laymen both.

A DECLARATION

With the passing of his late Holiness, Tylos I, the Church of the Canon hereby enters the position of “SEDE VACANTE” otherwise referred to as, “The Seat Being Vacant”. We pray to God, all the Exalteds and Saints, that He will grant wisdom to our College of Cardinals to choose a successor that is pleasing to Him.

We pray that our new Pontiff be protected from the evils of sin, from greed and gluttony, from pride and selfishness. Rather, may he be a benevolent shepherd to the Canonist flock, guiding all the faithful through the troubles of our world, remaining obedient to God, serving as a light for those stuck in darkness.

With this, through the power vested in me as Vice-Chancellor, I hereby summon the College of Cardinals to Conclave to elect our new Pontiff.

ON BEHALF OF THE CHURCH OF CANON

Patriarch Yaromir lit many candles in the Basilica and silently prayed for Tylos' soul.

THE FOLLOWING IS THE VERDICT BROUGHT BY THE JOVENAAR;

The Defendant, Justine, was found guilty of both charges after absconding from the trial. Per clause 423 in the Haurul Caezk on absconsion, the defendant has forfeited her right to a trial and is presumed guilty. The court sentences her to branding with an 'M' upon her cheek, as well as fifteen (15) lashes if she is caught.

Arisen from these circumstances:

Recently, Lord Juliyus Kortrevich released a publication entitled ‘On the brain of the Kharajyr’, an inflammatory study alleging that the brains of Kharajyr are smaller than those of humans, and that Kharajyr are therefore inferior and less intelligent than them. As a result of this, there has been an increase in abuse against Kharajyr in the Kingdom, which has resulted in significant reputational harm to the plaintiff and other Kharajyr.

As compensation for the harm committed, Rha’kir seeks up to 1000 mina in damages.

I swear the contents of this Summons to be true and accurate to the best of my belief before Godan.

Jovenaar Rakoczy delivered the opinion of the court:

The prosecution painted a clear picture of what happened, and was able to connect the bolt that killed Igor Kort with the defendant. Witness testimonies placed the crossbow in the defendant’s hands at the time of the shooting, and put the defendant at the scene of the crime. The defendant as well admitted to the murder during his cross-examination of a witness. Based on this evidence, the court found the defendant, Leon, guilty.

On the charge of Endangering the Royal Family;

Jovenaar Rakoczy delivered the opinion of the court:

Witness testimony successfully showed that the defendant shot his weapon with the intent of harming a member of the royal family. Specifically, based on the trajectory of the bolt and the defendant’s own outbursts at the time of the crime, the prosecution was able to prove that the intended target was Princess Petra Emma. Based on this evidence, the court found the defendant, Leon, guilty.

It is so ordered.
