  1. The Princedom of Fenn, a political entity distinct from Okarn'fenn in titular and political sovereignty, now is ruled by the same body and has consolidated governments. While it understands that the Silver Council wishes for the Okarn'fenn to remain a district, the Elelaurir and council petitions for recognition of the dual status of its leader and peoples, or of the consolidated state, and the establishment of the Princedom as a protectorate to Haelun'or. As the Princedom is an antiquated state-title before recent democratic governmental reforms, Fenn is willing to negotiated new common nomenclature to put the time of despotism and title-grabbing in its past. -Laureh'medi Vul'ibar Fetahleia
  2. Tir’Sae Fenn An analysis of mali’fenn government writ by the Laureh’medi, Vul’ibar Fetahleia The government of the Princedom will be run by a democratically elected sovereign, whose power is regulated by the votes of the people. This system promises strong and enlightened leadership while ensuring that the will of the people is not trampled upon by despotic or authoritarian rule. Legal Positions: The Elelaurir is the sovereign leader, voted to represent his people and their wishes. He is chosen by popular and democratic election. He can freely make decisions for the Princedom, but all decisions can be called into deliberation by the people in referendums. He also can be deposed at any time by the people’s vote. By his decisions being so heavily regulated by his people, the oppression once seen by the Kathir’fenn Grand Prince will never again be endured by our people. By vesting in him the power of a monarch, the pitfalls of inefficiency in a direct democratic government can be avoided. The Laureh’medi is the steward and chancellor of the mali’fenn. His domain is the administration of the nation subsidiary to the Elelaurir, and the Laureh’medi is responsible for the smooth operation of the state. The Laureh’medi observes and decrees on legal disputes, and helps the settlements of the mali’fenn thrive and continue in forward progress. The Laureh’faersu is responsible for the leadership of the Faersu’fenn, the military of the Princedom. The Laureh’faersu is in charge of the protection and safety of the mali’fenn and their settlements, and must always maintain a standing or levied military to call to defend the Princedom or her allies. The Laureh’ahern is responsible for the ethical and religious guidance of the mali’fenn. He is to be regarded as something of a wiseman among his people, and although the Princedom is religiously tolerant and does not have an official state religion, the mali’fenn will often come to this enlightened sage for guidance. Political Actions: I. Elections take place whenever the sovereign forfeits his or her title by death or choice. The vote is to be conducted by the Laureh’medi, a tradition begun following the deposition of the first sovereign. Votes are to be collected only from those of mali’fenn heritage, and talimali’fenn are permitted a vote. There are special exceptions for non-mali’fenn who reside within a mali’fenn settlement, but they must show proof of citizenship before voting. Candidates are permitted for consideration only if recommended by another mali’fenn. All votes of mali’fenn are counted equally, and whichever candidate holds a majority of votes is chosen as the new sovereign prince. If a majority is not held, and only a plurality of votes is present, the top two candidates will have a run off. Three karim ((elven days)) are given for the completion of the election. II. Referendums can be called by any group of five or more citizen to challenge any decision of the Elelaurir. The decision or decree questioned is not nullified until the result of the vote is tabulated, this is to prevent referendums being used to drive the government to a standstill. The decision called into question is overturned if at least 65% of those voting are in opposition to it. The collection of votes is to take the same form as the sovereign elections. Two karim are given for the completion of the referendum. III. Depositions are the formal removal of the Elelaurir, Laureh’medi, Laureh’faersu, or Laureh’ahern. They function in much the same manner as a referendum, allowing all mali’fenn to cast their vote. Depositions last 3 karim, and their results are only affirmed if the deposition has 75% of the support of the populace. This is to prevent transitory political climates from causing instability, but also to allow a significant majority of dissatisfied citizens to remove an official when they become a threat to the state. With the power of a sovereign leader and a small council to advise him, and the safeguard of the people’s will to overturn any injurious action or depose any unfit leader, the forward progress and dear rights of our mali’fenn people will be protected in the Princedom.

  4. Waleh Tuva’Fenn Writ by the Laureh’medi, Vul’ibar Fetahileia Authorized by Laurir’fenn and Grand Prince Gabriel’Daenor With the people having elected the Gabriel’Daenor both to the post of Grand Prince of Fenn and Laurir’fenn of Okarn’fenn , it has been decreed that these two settlements and bodies are henceforth combined as one. Their people are one and their nations are one, and the mali’fenn are united under one banner and one government. This is a most joyous day, for the last year has experienced a schism between the Lindale loyalists and the Okarn’Fenn reformists. This political discord has rocked our nation like a ferocious storm, and left in its wake a disorganized and fearful people. This is no longer. The reign of oppressive terror and fear of disunity has ended. With the acquisition of the sovereign Grand Princedom and the Haelun’orian settlement of Okarn’fenn, the frigid people can once more thrive together in a light of hope and progress never before seen by the mali’fenn. Furthermore, the new Grand Prince and his council petitions the Enclave of Haelun’or to accept the Grand Princedom as a protectorate, and forfeits the honorary title of “Grand Prince” to distance itself from the policies of the Urguani bortu of the Grand Kingdom, assuming the elven title Elelaurir in its place. Thus the entirety of elves will be within the umbrella of the Enclave, once more uniting the noble race under a single banner. The Princedom of Fenn also subjugates itself to administrative reform at the hands of its own people, to better construct a government which may encourage prosperity and protect from the ravages of war.
  5. Vul'ibar shakes his head, looking to his fellow mali'fenn, "Patience, sister, soon the mali'fenn will know unity and order. The ice will once-more be a beacon of hope in a sea of darkness, and our people will fly a single banner, united to one cause and away from the ravages of warfare. Take solace in this coming in but a few elven days, take solace, and await the coming of unity like one would a shooting star."
  6. Vul'ibar, who is still standing outside, ensuring the fair practice of elections, turns to the Adunian and says in a calm and sagacious voice, "It is those like yourself, divu anah'wy, who have drove us to the political chaos we experience today. Our decisions were made for us by the bortu, and our people were left in disarray. It is only by coming together as our own people, a community of mali'fenn, that we may progress towards achieving the respect of our fellow mali brothers and sisters."
  7. Vul'ibar chuckles and shakes his head, preventing the candidate from tampering with the voting process, "Without a constitution, no action can be unconstitutional. Further, the will of the people has seen fit to suspend your authority pending the result of this vote. As the Grand Prince derives his authority from his folk, it would be in forfeiture of title, rank, standing, and respect to attempt to nullify the wish of his citizens when they seek only to further our kind. As such, this vote will continue and its result will be decisive. One hopes that you acknowledge this fact so that you too may help to further the progress of the people who you once so wisely led, but if you do not, it is the common law of the people that you violate, not any violation of fallacious decree released by the Kathir'Fenn on our part."
  8. The Mali'fenn elder points in the general direction of the "Kilt-less to the Hilt" club, muttering something about catching maces with the wrong parts. Vul'ibar then examines the glass voting boxes, counting the crystals dropped inside without disturbing their contents. "At the present, Gabriel has approximately 500 votes, Tundrak has approximately 100 votes, No souls have voted for Irelia. I should hope that all mali'fenn continue to vote to ensure that the results are an accurate reflection of our people's will, as is my only wish."
  9. Vul'ibar directs him towards the Kaldonian palace, noting that elective monarchy hasn't been an institution in Oren since the Imperium Secundus.
  10. Vul'ibar scratches his chin, watching as a dwarf tries to sneak his way past the snow elven guards to muck up the fair election. "Foolish bortu."

  12. Vul'ibar learns of the new voting stations set up to accommodate only the will of the Mali'Fenn, not the dark interests of the dwarves or humans who seek to put a new tyrant on the throne. He begins leading snow elves away from the dwarven voting stations towards those of Fenn origin, uttering only the following three words, "For our people."
  13. ((FMs please remove non-snowelven and non-RP/voting posts.)) ((As of Thursday the 26th, Irelia has officially withdrawn her candidacy, A Departure )) ((It has come to mine and others' attention that this last attempt to create a poll by Lathros has a major error. It allows associates and allies to choose the representative of our people, instead of our own kind. The fact that no one else has pointed out the clearly corrupt system of the last poll astounds me. While we may value the input of our allies, they are not citizens. They don't have to live with the leader they choose. Upon examining the votes, one would note that the "associates" voting has created a corrupt poll entirely not representative of our own peoples' wishes. If we wish to escape the meddling of the bortu, this is not how we should be going about it. Any who oppose this true poll should be considered an enemy of our people, as they seek for foreign powers to control us instead of our own kind. The numbers never lie. 78% of the votes for Irelia were by "allies or associates", only 22% by actual snow elves 100% of the votes for Tundrak were by "allies or associates", 0% by actual snow elves 14% of the votes for Gabriel were by "allies or associates", only 86% by actual snow elves One would hope such a mistake in the creation of the poll was accidental, instead of an intentional effort to corrupt the vote of our people and let another race choose our leader, and I urge you all to instead recognize this poll. I have been urged to create this as an unbiased and unadulterated alternative to the previous failed polls. Voting will close this Saturday. As such, please vote only if you actively play a snow elf on LotC. All other responses will be ignored.)) A voting station for the true sovereign of our Princedom has been established, only snow elves are allowed the pass, the way blocked by armed guards, and each who passes is given a small crystal to place in a box for the leader they wish to vote for. 14. Vul'ibar nods at the words of Gabriel, and speaks to those aside him, "Irelia clambers for titles and clutches at power, at what cost? She intends to subjugate us to the bortu oppression and return us to ceaseless cycles of war, poverty, destruction, despotism, and segregation. She is more of the same, with a slightly prettier face and a different bortu pulling her strings.
  15. Vul'ibar shakes his head, his white mane framing his saddened face and noble features, "A snake slithers from her mouth in the place of a tongue. She seeks not to save our nation, not to preserve its peace nor rights of its people, but to subjugate us once-more under the vile clutches of the bortu. We need freedom, peace, just government, and representation, not a despotic grand princess bent on clamping the cold shackles of Urguan back around our legs in exchange for a title."
