What is roleplaying?: - I think roleplaying is acting out the part of someone else. You choose a ‘role’, and you ‘play’ it, in the same way that an actor would play a character. You need to do what the character you’re playing as would do, and act how they would act. What’s metagaming?: - Metagaming is using information that your character wouldn’t know, and using that information to benefit or influence your character’s decisions. It’s more or less using out of character (OOC) information in in-character (IC) actions. What’s powergaming?: - A person who powergames does unrealistic or unfair actions that would not normally be possible. I think this would be catching an arrow mid-flight. Powergaming could also be forcing actions onto other players, without giving them a chance to fight back. Most lore can be found on our wiki.): - Amaryllis was born in late Asulon, having two wood elven parents. Her father, Camus, was a successful merchant, and her mother, Mara, was a baker. They were well off, and Amaryllis spent much of her time with her father. The two would go on trips together, since Amaryllis was adventurous, which gave her an opportunity to visit the city and meet people. She enjoyed helping her father sell his wares, and she became charismatic. Eventually, her mother became pregnant with her brother. While Amaryllis and her father were away on a trip, her mother suffered an untimely miscarriage. This devastated the family, and the experience changed Amaryllis. It caused her to take things more seriously. She thought that if she was there with her mother, she could have prevented the loss of her sibling. This event also taught her the importance of life, and she decided that she would take up fighting lessons, against her mother’s wishes. The next big change in the life of Amaryllis occurred when she 64. Their family had moved to Anthos, and had continued their practices of baking and mercantilism. Upon hearing the news that she would have a sibling, Amaryllis was overjoyed. Having spent many years in bustling cities, selling merchandise and negotiating with others, she developed practical life experience. Because of this, she knew that there were many forces and people out there that might harm or endanger her future sibling, and she took it upon herself to protect her family. When Nerine, Amaryllis’ sister was born , she was the happiest she had been in her entire life. Taking care of Nerine was a lot of work for Mara, so Amaryllis spent more time at home. It was a sacrifice, because Amaryllis greatly enjoyed seeing other people and going on trips with her father. Due to the family situation at the time, Mara did not have many opportunities to see other people like Amaryllis had. The two siblings spent most of their time together, however, playing games, telling stories, and enjoying each other’s company. As the years rolled by, the family moved to Leanniel in the Princedom of Malinor. Both siblings grew as individuals, Amaryllis practicing her swordplay, and Mara practicing her baking and card reading. The Scourge began to have an increased presence in Anthos, with many elves, including some neighbors of Amaryllis and her family, disappearing. The siblings’ father and mother were terrified that something might happen to their family, so the daughters were forbidden from leaving the house, although Amaryllis managed to sneak out on occasion. Eventually Leanniel was taken over by the Scourge. Amaryllis and her family fled to the wilds, living in seclusion, until they moved to the Fringe with the rest of the inhabitants of Anthos. What are they like? (personality): - Amaryllis is a strong willed woman. She is charismatic and social, as she spent many years of her life negotiating with others while selling her father’s wares. Due to this exposure to cities, she also is distrustful of others, as she knows that there are many people who would scam or hurt someone if it benefited them. She is brave, and also is very practical, preferring to see the world as it is. What are their ambitions?: - Amaryllis hopes to start up a tavern with her sister, and establish a life for the two in the Fringe, and any other places that they may venture to. Do they have any special skills? What are their weaknesses? (Try to list a few of both): - She is smooth when it comes to talking with others, and she is physically fit, and can use a sword well. Amaryllis is overprotective of her sister, and if something were to threaten her or her family, she becomes rash and may make stupid decisions in the heat of the moment. She is also distrustful of others, and has a problem forming strong friendships over time. Give us a description of how they look?: - Amaryllis has dark red hair and olive green eyes.
