I've had experience with this dude, he's pretty good, not gonna lie. I'd definitely accept him.

But Arctic, I'm gonna be honest, we have enough actors, we /really/ need more builders, and your skills with that would be extraordinarily helpful. I'd ask you please consider re-applying as a builder.

I would like to do both acting and building.

    Time-zone: (-4UTC) EST

Do you, or have you held, any other staff positions: I was an Event Builder previously, I resigned due to a loss of time that could be devoted and I did not want to miss any quotas. (Link-to-app)

Where do you grab inspiration from: My creative inspiration is drawn from various video games, some of which include Rift, Guild Wars 2, Elder Scrolls, and WoW. My RP has recently been influenced from my readings of various satire like Catch-22, clearly leaving an impression on my interactions in the form of situations of absurdity.

What are your current list of characters, and are you willing to sacrifice any: I have one main character. The rest are disposable.

What race, or group, do your events best cater to: I haven’t started doing events, but I have been leading event groups on various ‘patrols’ in the Westerlands, which would be human RP in the wilds. I've spent time building up Haria (Farfolk), as an Orc in the Iron Uzg (Orcs), and time in Oren (Human).

What do you believe are they key factors for a successful event: The biggest factor of a good event is character building. If you can cause characters in an event to build off of their experiences and give more depth to a rather static character, it is successful. This is so, because I feel most people struggle with character building and tend to have a character bound to the role of a common archetype. Another factor of a good event is dynamic interaction. Events should not always be hack and slash or even leave out someone standing on the sidelines. There should always be something going on with everyone where everyone is involved in some way. Events should not always be one sided either in favor of the participants, it’s okay to get injured or be killed, after all this isn’t an mmo. I also feel humor is another factor which can always be good. If everything was always serious it would be too stressful to handle.

What strengths would you bring to the team: I can bring a lot of creative ideas to the team. I am also skilled in RP and building which would make me self sufficient in the role. I previously was a hardworking member of the Event Team as a builder, but I had to resign as I did not want to be a burden by missing my quotas when times got tough and I had to step away from the game.

Why do you want to be part of the team: I want to be apart of the team so I can legitimately provide fun and engagement during those times when it seems like there is nothing to do. I like to start interactions and create scenarios typically, but I feel my abilities are limited when it comes to not being able to be an actor in a role or to even have a stage for the scenario. I also have friends currently ET Members who I could easily collaborate with by either making builds or helping act.

Create three distinct event scenarios based on the servers lore that you would organize:

For a small group: A local farmer by the name of Dhurt Tumblesougher, a halfling, arrives at a local tavern searching for adventurers to help him with his discovery. Dhurt Sougher is unusual as he speaks in third person and he then explains to the small band of adventurers, whose attention he has gained, that he has found a book in his field that had tried to bite him when he uncovered it when sowing his fields on that night. Dhurt then convinces the band of adventurers to follows him back to his farm in search of the man eating book, or mimic. Once they arrive, the mimic is not there and would likely take the form of something inside his farm house. The halfling leads the adventurers inside his house for refreshments where they then discover the the mimic has taken the shape of the halfling’s rug when poor Dhurt foolishly steps on the rug and consequently gets eaten whole. The adventurers then must face off against the mimic in the halfling’s home. If the adventurers take too long attacking the mimic, it will escape out of the farm house window into the dark once night approaches. If the adventurers slay the mimic, they will be rewarded with pieces of the tattered rug that was once the mimic. They can then cut the stomach section of the mimic to release the halfling from his captor during any time of the fight or after.

For a lone individual or group: Several furef in the area have created a small den out of the way near a local settlement. They terrorize the locals with their incessant theft of what they call “Shiny!” Their hooting and hollering is soon brought to a halt when a lone furef decides to harass a local guard member when they are not looking by stealing their very sword from their side mistaking it for silver! The furef was not clever enough though as the guard is clearly made aware of what is going on when the unusual tugging at his side does not stop. The poor furef didn’t realize the shiny was snug on the guard’s side. The furef either then runs for an escape back to his den with the other furef or attempts to  take something else shiny and escape. The furef’s speed is then unmatched, yet it taunts the guard(s) with the shiny held horizontal above it’s head shouting “SHINY!” This would then be an attempt to lead the group to the furef den. If the furef is captured it tries to make an escape by climbing away with it’s sharp claws. If the furef is attacked, it is then slain leaving behind a small piece of silver with the word “Qolp’s Shiny” scratched into it. The furef den would then not be found if the furef is slain and would continue to harass the locals until it is found.

For a large group: Deep in the woods near a castle like settlement lives a crazed dwarf within a rocky burrow. This dwarf is capable of golemancy and quite good at it, but he does not construct normal golems of humanlike structure. He molds and crafts animal like forms from stone and brings them to life with thanium cores, inscribing them with runes to do his bidding. With these creatures he reigns malice on his neighbors. On one particular night he constructs a large boar, the size of a small transport carriage, of which he sends to the gate of the nearby castle settlement to effectively bring siege to the inhabitants. From there they must fight to defend their bastion from the beast of stone bent on destruction. After the giant boar construct is defeated, the event postponed to continue at another time with another attack by the crazed dwarf’s golems. At some point the fortification inhabitants can trace the tracks of the slain raiding golems back to the crazed dwarf’s den where the group will face hand to hand combat with more stone animal like golems before confronting the crazed dwarf who may or may not escape. If slain, the crazed dwarf leaves behind chiseled animal heads that he was making into golems. These stone heads the event participants may take with them as they leave.

How long do you plan to be able to work on the team: I most certainly have time now a days and I will likely stick around for some time.

Tell me a joke: I can relate to satire quite well, in fact it’s as if someone is reading me my biography.

A bird will be sent to the highest bidder when concluded.

  5. An opinion is an opinion. I've heard nothing good and have seen nothing good from you as a gm or without a staff position. I feel you would be very bias as a gm again. Hopefully that doesn't happen and I hope you would show good qualities if you do get to be a trial gm.
As I read your application, I've found that you haven't provided anything new that hasn't been brought to the table already. As for your self evaluation of your qualities, I feel you should re-examine as I don't think people want to see " what other surprises I can pull out of a hat ." I also don't think you are fit to be a mediator in most cases. More importantly, if you have problems with people on the team currently, I think it would be best for you to address that before even considering making another application. It's better to handle things now than after the fact.

  6. "Saddle the horses, ist time ve ride on... vhat vas it called? Athermo- no, Ariamis? I think zoh, ja ride on Ariamis. Ist time ve slaughter zah damned in their hold... that's if ve can even find a soul there to begin with..." Beckons the last true Waldenian. "Ist been ah vhile since mein blade has cut ahny throats auf Orenians in zah name auf Arn Rovin."

Why is it that I scroll through these 4 pages of comments and only see 3 legitimate submissions? This isn't a feedback post if you don't have a boat/cart then jog on m8?!!!

It's optional to post your submission in the thread. You can also send Pandann a message with your submission over the forums, like I did. Maybe you should have read the competition info?

I'll post my video I made a day ago for everyone to see since it bothers you so much.
