What circumstances led to this ban?

Quite frankly the details regarding the ban had happened so long ago that it's a bit difficult to recall. Basically the long and the short of it is that I confronted a friend of mine for metagaming and then subsequently lying about the incident. This 'friend', in collusion with another person who disliked me, went to moderators who were already not fond of me at the time due to me constantly causing drama and informed them that I was harassing the friend. My tone with this 'friend' was certainly not formal, and I was upset considering the circumstances, but I personally did not feel that I was /harassing/ them. This was a FRIEND of mine, so of course my tone wasn't going to be extremely professional in my communication with them. Personally, I felt that the ban was biased and unwarranted, but I had no opportunity to debate that. Following the ban I quit the server, hence why it's taken a year for me to appeal it.

Are there aspects of the ban you agree and/or disagree with?

Personally I disagree with the entirety of the ban, though I suppose that many people would say something along the lines of that. It's a fact that I've rubbed many staff members the wrong way, and many players wanted me gone because I was very oppositional. It's a fact that even at one point a very prominent player on the server who is close to the staff members attempted to get me banned on a separate occasion with illegitimate evidence. I feel that my situation was looked at out of context and as a result I was banned for my interaction which was misinterpreted. Whether there was bias involved or not within the decision to ban me is a separate matter I suppose.

What motivates you to return to LOTC?

I want to make a difference. The same reason as to why I returned the last time before being banned. I want to help create positive change within the community, and this time take a much more proactive approach to how I can make a difference within LOTC.

Fundamentally at its core, staff transparency is something that is undeniably necessary for the sake of ensuring LOTC's longevity. The community over the past few years has become radically dissatisfied with the current status quo implemented by the staff team. Left-and-right are instances of staff bias and abuse. The simplest solution is to introduce greater amounts of transparency regardless of the circumstance or sector. The only people who oppose the concept of staff transparency are staff members themselves who are afraid of receiving repercussions for their actions; in most cases, these staff members possess bias and abusive tendencies - they're afraid of said bias and abusive tendencies being openly exposed for others to witness.

I can recall at least two instances over the past few years where staff bias prevented roleplay groups from having the ability to receive a settlement despite them truly deserving it.

It is time for LOTC to take the steps necessary to begin healing the fragmented community, and staff transparency is the first step.

Ser Gustaven von Halsfield seems unconcerned after reading over the missive. If anything, the figure who has recently faded into obscurity for the most part seems to find some element of humor from the writings of Garret Darkwood to the point where he feels compelled to chuckle aloud, "I couldn't imagine what the taste of Orenian boot is like, perhaps I'll reach out to him and consult his opinion on such a matter! I'm sure it's awfully tasty! After all, was it not Mister Darkwood himself who at one point affiliated himself with our ideology?"

Literally a dumpster fire of a server and when you criticize them you'll wind up banned one way or another.

Ser Gustaven von Halsfield breathes a sigh of relief at the thought of knowing that the current ruler of Norland is likely too busy doing Godan-knows-what to possibly bother with something such as extraditing his self, let alone even reading what Father Basil wrote in the first place. Personally, Gustav doubts that word of his potential involvement in the abduction of the Pontiff has even reached King Sven considering how it had taken nearly a half-decade before his own personal letters sent to the recently-crowned King were ever read.

"No reason for me to worry!" He grumbles, partially hoping to convince himself that the words which were leaving his mouth were true.

I've been playing since 2014. This is honestly the worse I've seen. At least from what I know last map they utilized inflation rather than deflation as they are currently. There's a reason why no economy in the world utilizes deflation .. don't know why the economy team doesn't take that into account

Even with Nexus it got so bad once that the staff added admin buy shops to take iron and other goods out of the economy and raise prices.

Having the economy be worse DOES negatively impact most players, the effects of a poor economy will trickle down into other aspects of gameplay. Nobody will be able to afford a house, nobody will able to afford gear or items, nobody will be able to afford anything except by voting which is a laughable concept. Nations won't be able to afford the tiles they own due to their playerbases not purchasing property, etc.

The end result be will extreme stagnation across the server, even worse than before.

While many of you are celebrating and treating this as some type of victory you fail to realize that this will result in an incredible market crash; Lord of the Craft's economy is about to become even more crippled than beforehand. For those unaware the economy presently was dependent on the supply and demand revolving around Vortex tools. That's it. That quite literally is the only way to make money. The reason that this supply and demand even existed in the first place was because people were too unfamiliar with the Vortex system to properly take the time to learn how to craft their own tools (or simply too lazy), thus they were forced to purchase these tools from the marketplace, thus forcing a demand. The fact that only a select group of people were willing and capable of creating this Vortex tools in the first place creating a strictly small supply ..

.. Effectively 'dumbing' down Vortex - which is the direction that I imagine this is going in - will allow anybody and everybody to easily begin crafting their own tools, thus creating an extremely high excess of supply with no viable demand. The end result will be a broken economy. Previously the economy was supported entirely by the dynamic that I described above, how will it be supported now? Previously people complained about how horrific the economy was, dear God, it's about to get infinitely worse. Mark this post, I'm telling you right now that this is going to take a turn for the worse unless the staff team figure out a way to address the economy. (Inflation rather than deflation)

Ser Gustaven von Halsfield rests a freshly sharpened blade onto his shoulder as he pauses for a moment to read the notice, "Seems to me as if they're really going out of their way to try and avoid getting tangled up in this conflict. Why are Orenians so afraid of chubby three foot tall midgets? Either way it isn't very surprising - Orenians are afraid of their own shadows half the time!"

People join expecting a Minecraft server with RP elements but leave disappointed when all they find is a walking simulator where every nation leader wants their minas and their activity rather than anything else. Perhaps that's partially what influences people to leave Lord of the Craft rather than anything else. Staff members purposefully create rules and situations which forcefully contribute to the amount of stagnation that we've experienced over the past few years. Roleplay hardly exists nowadays, your options are either guard duty within a nation or tavern roleplay - pick your poison! 

Wish to do something out of the ordinary? Sorry, here are a dozen obstacles placed in your path by a power hungry moderator who could care less about roleplay. Such is life within Lord of the Craft! Who has the leaked screenshots from four-ish years ago (Operation Kaboom) when LOTC was hacked of the admins talking about how they purposefully create stagnation within the server and purposefully go out of their way at times to be harsh towards players? Oh, did we forget about that?

Finally, there’s so many rules and restrictions that all they can do is slice of life which turns most people off. No one plays Minecraft to RP playing house, they want content. There's no content; ergo nobody wants to play Lord of the Craft except veteran players who have no other options - to them it's a sunk cost .. they won't ever get back the time they spent on LOTC so why bother quitting now.

Ser Gustaven von Halsfield bobs his head up-and-down, agreeing with whatever James would've said at that moment. Most of the time the things that James say to Gustaven go in one ear and out the other, likely due to the incredibly thick accent that the halfling possessed. Nodding to whatever words come out of James mouth has become a habit for Gustaven at this point, it was like second-nature to him: 

"Yeah James, you tell 'em! Put them in their place!"

Ser Gustaven von Halsfield smirks while reading through the posted notice, reading one section aloud to himself, "The city of Providence shall encourage and make an effort to involve the Church in more of the daily affairs?" he'd snicker, "Doesn't the Empire involve the Church in enough of their daily affairs considering how many innocent priests and the like they murder and bully on a routine basis? Perhaps they should consider giving the Church a break from involving them in anymore 'daily affairs'."

Ser Gustaven von Halsfield nonchalantly shrugs his shoulders after reading through the missive. Crumbling it up into a ball, Gustaven would toss it onto the street before walking off, "I've written about it time-after-time, the abuses of these tyrannical monsters that is. Seemingly my words fly over everybody's heads. Each and every time the Emperor oversteps his boundaries people act so surprised as if it hasn't already happened a million times. I will admit, I was expecting the new Emperor to have held off AT LEAST until a year had passed before he decided to start showcasing how much of an arrogant autocrat he was, but eh .. such is life. People have the opportunity to do something about it, it's their choice whether or not they intend to pursue that opportunity."

Ser Gustaven von Halsfield arches a brow while reading the missive, eventually letting out a chuckle after finishing, "Purposefully remaining unwed? Who would've guessed that the Emperor bats for the home team! Something tells me that he dabbles in feminine literature, too! No worries, we live in a progressive society, this is something I can handle, I'm glad to hear that the Emperor is comfortable with his self enough to declare his orientation openly!"

Pictured in the center of the poster is a wonderfully-crafted drawing of what resembles the typical noble family. Within the family was a small girl, a daughter perhaps - likely no older than seven or eight. The family seemed to be inside their well-off estate, evident by the luxurious architecture and room design; if your eyes were to trail to the family's front door, you would immediately notice two ISA soldiers bursting in with weapons drawn. The sense of fear was greatly expressed on the painted families features: the details of tears could be seen on the daughters eyes; the mother was distraught with terror, turning to flee. It's obviously clear that the ISA soldiers are entering the house with malignant intentions, one of them is even drawn grinning smugly as he rushes towards the family with his weapon drawn. The words above and under the painting were of a bold, black variety, obviously to pop out to the reader in an effort to catch their attention. 

It is clear that the poster's motive was to create fear amongst the nobles; to show how even they are not protected from the evils associated with the Empire. That they could easily be victims to these vile beings if they choose to neglect the problem at hand. The poster's insinuating that if we - as a people - don't stand together to fight against those above us, then it will be soon too late.
