  1. What is your Minecraft Account Name?: HBrules

What is your ingame Character Name?: Dorian Hunter

What is your Character’s Race?: Human

Have you read and familiarized with all server rules and the villain rules?: Yes, I have.

Links to any previous villain applications (for reference, these can be from previous characters, or previously denied applications to show how you’ve improved): None at all. Never played back in that time.

What VA are you applying for? (Lesser Evils, Greater Evils [Greater includes Lesser by default, you don't need two applications if you apply for greater first]): Greater Evil.

Why is your character the way he/she is?  What has led them to a path requiring a Villain Application?: Dorian is a member of St Amyas, a Crusader for the Creatorism faith. This requires him to spread and protect his faith, however he can: Whether it be to peacefully talk to a non-beleiver and have them convert, or murder someone who insults/disgraces the faith in front of him. Whilst his belief in the Creator is slightly weaker than  his comrades, he will not doubt orders from them, should they be given from a high up: namely murder, imprisonment and torture. On top of all this, he happens to have a short temper and acts rather violently/ rashly due to a rather scarring past and a history of being more anti-social and alone, so he easily jumps to conclusions and violent outcomes as they offer a much simpler solution than talking things out.

What are his/her motives?  What do you plan to gain from this?: Dorian's motives behind what he does are:

    His belief for the Creator

    Fear of his superiors

    Self satisfaction/pleasure

Self defence of himself and friends.

Dorian will either carry out a villainous act to defend his faith for the Creator: He tries to believe strongly about the Creator, much more so than he does currently, so he feels that if he 'carries out God's will' by punishing and purging the realm of Pagans, Heretics and the like, he'll be able to become closer to God.

He also harbours a strong, ever-looming fear of his superiors amongst the Order, and what might become of him if he were to dis-obey orders, whether it be to doing press ups, to murdering non-believers. Namely, 'Grim' and Ragnar are the two main factors of this: One being an emotionless, completely devoted Knight, easily jumping to violence without a second thought, the other being a mountain of a man, always walking around with his weapon on display, able to kill three men all on his own on top of being merciless and cold.

Dorian also happens to be a slight sadist, enjoying torment he brings unto foes. He occasionally loses himself in his own pleasure for torment when he either wounds an enemy in a fight or even after killing them. He'll swiftly mutilate their corpse to confirm there death, not batting an eye at the act, on top of enjoying himself when inflicting a wound, relishing the feeling of increasing the intensity of it, harming them more and more.

Dorian also will step up and fight off anybody he sees as an enemy, even when he just happens to see a comrade or good friend in danger. When protecting friends, he doesn't care about what happens to the attacker, happily killing them off and saving said friend.

What moral boundaries does your character have, if any?: Dorian's moral boundaries are as follows:

    Mercy/ Soft spot for women

His Oaths he took upon joining the Order

Dorian has a certain soft spot when it coms to dealing with women in violent/ malicious ways. He doesn't like to have to carry out un-savoury tasks against females and such, because it just doesn't sit well with him, and he always seems to be helping girls more than hurting them when he really should be doing something nasty to them. He's very lenient towards them and will never outright attack/harm them. He will, however, treat them without mercy should they attack him/ greatly annoy him even when he offers help.

He also will not do anything that will directly conflict with the Oath's he took to join the Order, under the Creator. These include things such as Chastity and other virtues/ rules of the faith. However, Dorian may let himself slip occasionally, and break these Oaths, albeit not being a huge slip-up from time to time.

What general kind of Villain will you be? (Bandit, Pirate, Raider, Madman, Cultist, Antihero, Destroyer Of Worlds, etc etc…): I don't like to use the word 'villain' here because Dorian is not a villainous character. Instead, he is just someone that doesn't always do the 'right' thing in a circumstance, albeit having good intentions.

He is a Crusader/Zealot character, who has Bandit like tendencies at times.

Open Response - Answer at least two of the open ended scenarios below. Do not powergame, metagame, or do anything else rulebreaking or unrealistic. Each scenario is designed with no particular objective in mind and is open ended deliberately. Assume your character is in each position, regardless of their normal situations:

-An elderly man with a walking stick(possibly a staff), a middle aged woman in a flowing dress, and a teenage boy with a sword hanging on his belt are walking down the road, with no others in sight that you can tell...

-You are about to head out of your house when someone starts pounding on your door frantically.  You open the door to see a human woman, dress half torn, a gash across her cheek bleeding, fear in her eyes as she begs you for help. Someone has just attacked her and her sister, killing the sister, and the girl barely getting away and losing him...

Dorian would take one look at the women, stunned for a second, before looking down the road at the (I presume) fleeing man. He would draw his short-sword with a frown, giving a quiet groan as he would begin to charge down the road after the fleeing murderer. As he would approach the murderer, probably tired from the struggle that had just ensued, thus making him run at less than full speed, Dorian would dive forwards towards the man. going to tackle him shoulder first and clatter to the floor with him, struggling to land on top and pin him down beneath him. Dorian struggles against the man, his armour helping reduce the brunt of the wild blows sent his way, eventually managing to pin him down beneath him, shifting his legs either side of the man's torso to pin him down between his thighs. The man brings around the weapon (let's say it's a knife here), the knife thrusting towards his left arm, digging into the chain-mail and piercing through, half cutting into his arm. Dorian yelps out, his yelp turning into a vicious growl as a snarl takes over his face. He bashes his right hand, equipped with his blade, down towards the man's face, connecting the hilt with his forehead, making the attacks on Dorian cease for a moment, whilst he is dazed. Dorian twists the blade's grip around in his hand, pointing the blade downwards as he thrusts it down towards his neck. The blade goes in, making a sickening squelch as blood immediately begins to pour out from around it. The man tries to scream out, but only a gurgling sound and a splutter of blood comes out from his mouth, spraying up onto Dorian's white tabard. He slowly drags the blade down through his throat, down to his collarbone, leaving a gaping slit along his throat/chest area. He rips the blade out to the side, tearing through the flesh of his shoulder, spattering blood along the cobbles. The man, laying near death on the road, had long passed out from the shock of the pain, slowly bleeding out below. Dorian stands up slowly, blood dripping from the tip of his blade, his tabard slowly becoming a crimson red stain. Through his panting, he turns around and looks at the injured woman, standing in bewilderment a littles behind him.

"Sorry... about your sister..." He pants, straightening up and rubbing his stabbed shoulder. "I think I need a drink..." He sighs, shuffling off back towards his house.

-Sitting in a bakery, you hear two men talking in hushed voices upstairs. Sneaking up the stairs, you see a figure robed in black and a Guard. The robed figure is revealing plans to the Guard about an upcoming rebellion.  You can’t tell if the robed man is betraying the rebels, or if it is the Guard betraying the town...

-There is a knocking on your door, and when you open it there is an angry-looking man standing there, and a Olog standing behind him, eyeing you coldly.  The man tells you that you owe 1000 minas in taxes to the local Royals, and had best pay up...

-Two Guards are trying to break up a fight between your acquaintance and two Humans. Your friend slays one of the Guards as he approaches, causing the other Guard as well as the Humans to pull out their weapons...

Dorian walks out of the Red Rose tavern, stretching his arms behind his head with a yawn. He blinks once, looking around lazily, his mood quickly changing from tired to alert in a moment. He spots his Order-man Brother Tven fighting off three men, eyeing them up as all four of them ready there weapons. Dorian groans slightly, drawing his short-sword quickly. He stalks over behind the last guard standing, rolling his shoulders lightly. He raises his blade quickly, jerking it horizontally in a slash towards the un-suspecting guard's neck, it digging into his flesh with a sickening squelch. Dorian yanks the blade back towards him, the edge cutting at the Guard's already punctured throat, horribly wounding his neck, as he falls to the ground, nearly dead as he hits it. The two other Humans jerk their heads towards Dorian, their eyes widening at the sight of their only 'ally' falling. "What's this all about Initiate..." Dorian grumbles to Tven, walking over to his side as he keeps his eye on the two opponents.

"Heretics..." Tven spits, the word sending Dorian into a growling fit.

"Haven't had a good fight for a while..." Dorian chuckles grimly, darting forth and sending a vertical slash downwards towards his shoulder. A sword comes up to parry the blow, the two blades sliding along each other as they lock. Tven charges for the other man, only for him to turn tail and run, not fancying his chances against St Amyas. Dorian drives his left knee upwards towards the man's groin, doubling him over from the low blow. Tven simultaneously brings an elbow down on the back of his head, knocking him to his hands and knees. Dorian reaches down, grabbing the Human by the front of his shirt as he recovers from the blow, hoisting him up to look at him dead in the face, eye to eyes.

"A heretic, huh?" He grins maliciously, picking him off his feet and slamming back against the wall of the tavern, making sure his head collides first. "What'd he do then Tven?" He said, a bit too upbeat sounding for such a situation.

"Saw some guy spouting Heresy. Heard a song and started singing along." He states bluntly from behind the pair.

Dorian nods once, changing his grip so he grabs the man's shirt with just his left hand, outstretching his right behind himself. "Knife." He says simply, grabbing at one as Tven places it in his palm. "Now, we live by a little code..." He said quietly, bringing the knife up to the petrified man's ear. "Hear no evil." He grunts with a smirk, slashing down and severing his ear from his head. The man howls out, clutching up at the spot where his ear should've been. "And see no evil." He states again, jabbing the knife into the man's eye, tearing it away after puncturing it. "Let's go." He grumbles, dropping the man with a thud, leaving him to his screams as he turns around, heading off with Tven in tow.

  2. I remember more 'mina or die' back when we had VA's than now.

I'm being serious, once you stop pitching a fit at people for being villains, you find out that they aren't awful. Besides, victims are often worse RP'ers than villains.

That's exactly it. As a soldier, our leader was insulted. We walked up to the girl who insulted him and started intimidating her. Only to be met with emotes like. "Girl kinda shrugs as she is grabbed by the hair. I mean, it's just typical this type of RP happened to her." What do you EXPECT a group of soldiers to do? Honestly. I've never seen a problem with 'villain' RP. This whole thing, I feel, is people just calling other player-bases 'villains' because they can't accept that they attacked them for a valid reason, and just want something to clutch onto that they're in the right, and the others are in the wrong.

  3. I get what you write and all.

And to be honest I've not even done a single villainous act in the past months because I don't have the time for it.

I agree with you on the lesser evils, but honestly pick up your roleplay when you're doing bad stuff.

Because sorry for being rude here, but the last three villains I've seen where utter ****.

It's always been able to do stuff with OOC consent, just get a screenshot stating that you had their word you could do it and done.

They can't do a thing against you in a banreport.

That's how people used to do it back in the days and there was no problem.

But nowadays you have these people running around, void character, no reasoning, no idea what they're doing it for.

    Just random crap roleplay.

So yeah, sure I vote for VAs then.

I don't mind the MAs to be honest, but the VAs I think are a good thing.

But hey, it's like a 1 versus 100 here, because I'm the only one being vocal about my oppinion.

Anyhow I have a party I've got to get to, have a nice day.

Ok, I respect you're being vocal about this against the minority. Something not a lot do. But the fact is, you're still not getting the point. We don't want to be villains. We just want the freedom to do with our character as we please, and not live like some platypus under a tree. Ok, some 'villains' have come along and provided utter garbage RP, but that's not a cause to restrict the entire server now. And as you've just said, you haven't done a villainous act in a while, so you don't really care too much about the VA's. The people who do need to do villainous acts as their character's job shouldn't have to now be told whether they can or can't do that type of RP they enjoy, based on an application. The solution to the garbage RP is either a better blacklist system, or dedicated GM's to watch more carefully at 'villain' RP and deem whether or not it is good enough or not.

  4. I find it hilarious to as a first see that almost none of you have read the full post, derp.

So regardless of that, I like the VAs.

I'll repeat what I repeated about a year ago when the VAs were removed.

A blind man doesn't cry every day because he can't see.

A man whose eyes you take away will cry for ages for his puny eyes.

( Pretty much discribes the community now. )

Anyhow I like the VAs and have always liked them.

Eventhough I sometimes dislikes making them, platypus, I still like the result that they brought with them.

Because seriously there was a lot less horrible roleplay back in the days.

Nowadays it's rather hard even to find some proper evil roleplay out there.

But hey if we go back to the blacklist and it's going to be far harsher and about 75% of the villains will get blacklisted.

( That number won't be so far off even. )

I guess that's fine with me to.

Though I still prefer Villain Applications.

Just make the application and gather the fruits later on ?

It's really worth it, to give it a try!

It seems that the people still defending VA's still don't get why we dislike them.

The reason the vast majority of the server is crying out against the VA system is simply because it is too restricting. We don't want to play a villain. We want to play our normal, everyday character, and not some peace loving platypus instead. Everything in the lesser evils is something that shouldn't be restricted, and even then the greater evils are up for debate whether they need a VA/Permision to carry out, such as torture due to it being something that does need OOC consent. However, with the restrictions being put in, we now need to fill out something that labels us as a 'villain'. What if your character was a Knight in shining armour, riding along to save a beautiful maiden from some bandits? You draw your sword, advance towards and- Woops, you're not a 'villain' you need a VA to do that. See the point? They're not a villain, but he still needs to be a 'villain' to carry out something he should have full access to. Now, in a previous response to something else I said, 501 did state that he could see the problems with the lesser evils and was planning to make the whole thing simpler and possibly even drop the lesser evils altogether, which I'm glad he's taken into account. As for the people still defending it, I can't help but notice that you happen to either be a character that fits under the greater evils section: a mentally unstable person who has clear reasons why they would go about torturing and murdering as they please, or an extremely peaceful character: A druid or a monk who would never have a need for the VA's in the first place. If it's something you wish to use as an OOC shield to defend yourself from attackers, suit yourself, but keep in mind it will hurt more of the community than better it with it's restrictions.

We don't all want to be mass-murdering villains. We just want to have our normal character be free to do what they should be able to do.

  6. Favourite anime... Hard to say. I'd either go for something like Mirrai Nikki, Kill la Kill or Zero no Tsukaima.

As for an anime list, let's see what I can remember:

    Attack on Titan

    Mirrai Nikki

    Kaichou wa maid sama

    Toradora

    Parasyte

    Zero no Tsukaima

    Kill la Kill

Sword Art Online 1 and 2

    Highschool DxD

    Sister new devil

    Fate/Zero

    Panty and Stocking

    Akame ga kill

    Log Horizon

    Fairy tail

    No game No life

    Strike the blood

    Problem children

    Haruhi Suzimaya

    Dangan Rompa

    Unbreakable machine doll

    Highschool of the dead

    My little monster

    Say I love you

    Trinity seven

    Golden time

    RWBY

    Shana

    Hayata the combat butler

    I don't have many friends

And those are only the ones I can remember. I've seen at least about 30 more?

  7.

The ideal was that a common/lesser evil application was intended to be easy, quick, and small. Under that logic I was going to spend the week revamping it, making it simple, or even just removing the need for a lesser evil app from the ground up. I agree, the goal was to moderate roleplay not limit it and some of these will limit roleplay.

If you don't remove VA's, then yes please do remove the lesser evil one. It is literally /so/ restricting that the entire server will need to post one for what is considered 'villainous in a lesser manner', as it isn't actually villainous but instead just things that are pretty much needed for your everyday role-play life.

  8. Either pick Number one or Number three. If you don't, I may have to strangle a platypus (See I actually read the thread).

The reason people are so upset about the whole VA's is the fact that, rather than progressing role-play, it restricts just so much of it. Let's take a look at the lesser evils:

    • Theft

    • Pickpocketing

    • Robbery

    • Lockpicking

    • Jailbreaking

    • Murder with Provocation

    • Conning/Cheating

    • Corruption

    • Slavery (selling)

The majority of these are things that I should be able to do in my average normal RP daily life. Murder with provocation? As a St Amyas Orderman, it's my job to murder those that insult the Creator and resist being taking captive. I now can't do that, along with the rest of the Order (unless they get a VA). Jailbreaking/Lockpicking? What if I was caught by an enemy/villain and to break out of a prison cell? That's not villainy but still falls under the term 'Jailbreaking'. I'm the non-villain breaking from the villain's grasp, yet I'd still need a VA for it, as people /would/ just call 'No VA, you can't do that.' Corruption/ Conning/Cheating? So now I can't lie to people to get them to leave me alone, or possibly accept payment to leave someone else alone and stop doing my job as a Crusader/ Guard?

Some of the greater evils I can accept could use moderation/ a VA: Such as Torture, Dark worship, Serious/Violent slavery and Murder without provocation, but the rest need to be worded differently. All the others are just mental illnesses, and whilst I get why you're doing it: To stop 'edgies' acting as some insane, split personality anime warrior, they're simple mental illnesses and can even be classified as a good thing. If you changed it to "Violent Physcopath/ Sociopath" "Violent Insanity" "Murderous split personality" then it'd make some more sense and be more reasonable.

Whilst I /do/ appreciate that you are trying to improve role-play here and make sure there are good villains being played, the VA's will simply cause more problems than solving them. Majority of BR's that will go up will be: "Didn't have VA yet did something that needs a VA." and such, and it will happen /lots/, just causing more work for the GM team out there, when they could be off handling more pressing matters than silly VA BR's.

  9.
