  1. Wow, the BS
The Floating Island still exists, but the floating rune circle and the empty wizard tower have been removed a long while ago. I had an eye on the island for a while now too, and especially for event purposes a floating island is really neat. This thread is why we can't have nice things...

  2. No?! Like what the hell! A character takes time to develop and is in some sense an extend of your own feels and stuff. See it as a child…
Would you PK your child as it began walking on its own two feet?
Would you PK her when she gets a nuisance sometimes?
Would you really just throw a character away like that… ?

Also, why ask on the forums, 90% of people don't even have business with your character, me included lol! I'm outta here.

  3. I know Kid_, I said I'll stay quiet here, BUT!

I'm sure a position in the Staff suits you well, I know you as a really organized person, plus you know the demand of the players, especially the new ones.
I was surprised when I held the Ratiki Event in Belvitz that you and the other group of veteran players let the new players join the event first, kudos for that.
Best of Luck on your application, although I'd say you fit much better into the Application team...

    +1

Briefly explain the lore behind this construct or creature:

The Hou-Zi originate from monkeys, which roamed already in ancient times. Their existence was blessed by the daemon Metzli, when they were uplifted by her. This gave them knowledge, skill and culture that is very close to the descendants, still true to their animal form they them an advantage in certain disciplines. From their primal ancestors Metzli formed the first Hou-Zi known as Hou-Shen, the monkey King, later worshipped as the godking of his kin. This past knowledge is now one of the Religion practiced by the Hou-Zi, as it is believed that Metzli formed the Monkey King with excellence and sentinence so that his offspring may live up to the expectations of her. Second to the godking were his sons  Hou Da, Hou-Xiao and Hou-Wang, each resembling one of the three subraces of the Hou-Zi. His sons have also departed from their mortal existence and aid their ancestors with wisdom and blessings in response to their prayers. The other Religion the Hou-Zi follow is the Hua-Jiao, The Path to Enlightenment, this religion stands close to the worship of the godking, as time has caused the religions to closer and ultimately creating a thin line between these two. The Path to Enlightenment originated from a prophet who brought fourth truth to the lower-class people living in the growing empire the race had built. These truths speak of the nature of life. Houalian, a Fei-Zhu stemming from a luxurios home had to abadon everything, being the first Hou-Zi to wander this path. Trough intensive meditation and fasting Houalian obtained his enlightenment and was the source of a religion that is today practiced by most Hou-Zi and prominently Monks. This worsphip gave many Hou-Zi hope, which led to many taking the Eightfold Way towards true enlightenment.

Upon this fundament of religion the Hou-Zi build a whole empire which lasted trough many centuries which started with the great conquest and the war of the Hou-Zi against the Elves. As the Hou-Zi managed a succesful conquest they once again flourished in a period of peace. Soon after ultimate demise would fall upon the brave Godking who led the wars, legends are told of his downfall, mostly due to the elves, but also of a unknown deity that made quick work of the crippled forces of the grand empire the Hou-Zi once established. The Hou-Zi fled deep into the jungle as there was no place left for them, as their leader was not in sight. Yet, the prayers of the Hou-Zi were heard and the immortal Spirit of Hou-Shen returned to once again raise the Hou-Zi to what was once a powerful empire. In this time many weapons of their culture were developed, such as the dragon cannons... But the Hou-Zi were once again defeated with no sign of their immortal leader returning, leaving his Kin to likely never rise again.

Sha Qi, a Hei-Zhu with raven-black fur is standing upright and taller than most of the descendants. The Culture of his is truly that of the Hei-Zhu, with him worshipping Hou-Da aiming to achieve excellence in both mental and physical abilities and providing stability to his fellow kin, as a bodyguard, soldier or even the taming of beasts. The Hei-Zhu also have the longest lifespan of their kin.

What magic(s) will you be teaching?: Conjuration

Summarise the Lore of this magic(s):
Conjuration, or Life-Evocation is split into 3 kinds of incantations: Perennial, Primordial & Morphon each of those specify the nature of the being. Summoning is no easy task and requires full knowledge of what is being drawn from the void into existence and requires a steady flow of the user's Mana for it to stay anchored into his world. A more experienced Evocator can summon hybrid conjurations (Morphon) which also requires mastery of the Evocation used to fuse the conjuration with, for example a fire-snake or an ice-turtle. Conjuration provides the user with high utility at the cost of a higher use of mana and the need for Scriptures where studies and precise transcripts of the Creature are recorded. Mental notes most likely only work for uncomplex Conjurations such as plants and lesser creatures. Being a rare art of the Arcane, Conjuring is no easy task to accomplish, as absolute knowledge is key. Even complex sentient life-forms can be conjured and bound to the user, this also applies for any other lifeform the caster has wisdom over. Binding a Conjuration to the user requires a steady flow of mana and thus takes a large portion of the casters Mana as long as the creature is sustained. As the Incantations are channeled by the caster only, the range of such is not limitless and simply disappear if the Conjurer is out of range or the creature is being ordered to walk off. Conjurations have no free will, and only ordain by its masters will. Druids can not commune with Incantations. Incantations can not differ in size or be of different to one another. The Size of the conjuration can not exceed the size of a bear and smaller creatures can not exceed the mass of the maximum size allowed to conjure. Everything else that exceeds the time limit or the size/number will cause the Conjurer to lose consciousness and suffer a great deal of exhaustion. Still, as a relatively large amount of mana is required to conjure, the caster should not overdo it and hold several meditations per day to keep his mana pool at full capacity before use.

Write up a lesson that your character would give to a student:
"Ah, wonderful you did it. Well, let's start with a meditation. This time we try to strengthen our connection to the void. An important step for you to understand conjuration"
The Hermit would be with his student on a deserted island. Nothing seems to bother the two of them when they are surrounded only by the sound of the sea.
Much time goes by in silence, as they both awake and return, the student seems for the first time his aura as tangible.
"Your Aura you say! Hach! Splendid. A void journey can usually be like a dive into the depths of the ocean, but as you learn to solidify in this world while keeping a connection to the void, the first step is almost done!"
The old man got up and stretched his back, he ran a hand through his beard and leafed through a thick, sandy book ...
"Hmn ... algae ... piranha .. no, everything too delicate ... Ah! Here is a crab! Perfect!"
He gave the student a book and suggested the importance of a clean handwriting and drawing.
"Let's move on to the second part, your studies. Every creature you summon must be known in and out. And the word word for word."
Despite the remoteness of the island, the Hermit presented a plethora of laboratory and dissecting tools, giving the student his own book in which to begin the studies.
"Here, young one, that's where it all starts ... now go on and search for a creature to dedicate your first studies to. But be sure that you, as master of Conjuration, must also be a master of your studies.

In a sense, we are researchers, biologists could almost be said!"

A long time passed as the Student returned with a creature to the island. Luckily he kept it alive, and it even seems to take a liking to it's master. The Hermit took the creature out of the cage and gave it a good glance…

"Hrmn, a little earth-dweller? Very well!" he brought fourth encyclopedia where most of the lesser creatures where depicted with their scientific names. "Here, write down the name, the environment and the food the creature eats. Then, try your best do take this creatures measurement, not only now, but also if it grows." The Hermit glanced over the shoulder of his student and seems fixated on his handwriting and drawing styled, the tools the student was given were very precise writing tools bought from the great library of Dragur. "Ah, here don't forget to write down if it is a nightly creature, or if it is active by day… "
Solid hours passed by, as the Student finished his very first page in the scripture, the Hermit made sure that no mistakes were made. "Ah, very good, indeed time for a little rest for you and that critter until we move to the next part, the observation." His Student sighed slightly, as he finally got a moment to breathe between the meditations and studies he made.

"Now comes the interesting part, the life and death of your creature…" The Hermit had a serious tone and raised a finger "As a Life-Evocator you must know the full cycle of this creature, life is true and death is its meaning, now… try to recreate the environment for this critter and observe the way it moves, how it sleeps, how it feeds and what it fears. Each unique feature of the creature you need protocol, as life is never still." Another period of observations passed, as the student grew safer with his studies, and more pages filled the students book, the Hermit took care of the garden where he researched a bound incantation. The student returned with the creature he observed, and it seems that it couldn't survive any longer.
"Oh, I see… this environment didn't seem to be best for this little earth-dweller, very well, now we will continue dissecting this creature… Yes, you heard me right young one, you will take it apart, measure every bone and muscle, every organ to its very core…. Argh, don't look at me like that! You are lucky that it died by itself, as you will likely kill even more of those earth-dwellers until you finish your scripture" he would pat the head of the young one with a smile "But fret not, knowledge is key, and if you finish your first studies we can use your connection to the void to start conjuring, sounds exciting? Yes It does!" after that the Student and the Hermit packed a load of laboratory tools and empty scriptures to venture forward into the environment where the student's creature would be found. A long voyage into deep woods where they build a small camp and securely placed their tools. "Very well, as we are now in the environment of the creature you begin with researching the wildlife and flora here, although your incantation will not need food, it is still important for you to know what makes this creature, the earths that birthed it, and the resources that sustain it... This is important to understand for you to channel your mana into a living being. Existence is something that can't be easily learned, or even established…" with that the Hermit sent the Student off to observe the creatures that he strives to learn about.

  6. Spoiler

A man in black armor served a platter of cannoli in Dunshire, offering one to each visitor. Altough his apperance in armor seems grim his tone seems calm, yet loaded with sorrow "For the halfling that can even eat a fully fledged mercenary under the table!" he raised the platter and stayed for a while to enjoy the peaceful atmosphere and serenity that only the halflings will ever know.

Heavy snow fell over the capital for several days, and the rain caused most open fires go out. Only a few moved through the streets,

whether because of the weather or the rumors that went around inside the buildings.
The heavens were crying, the dark cloud cover made people uncomfortable with visitors to the city.

Hope was there, atleast for those who held their eyes open.

The Eye of the Storm allowed the sun to let its sunbeams onto the earth for a while, but it did not last for very long it seemed.
How long will the weather continue, and why at a time of unrest in the capital ... Is it only a bad joke of fate? What is the cause of this cursed weather? Anyway, one thing is clear, the investigation and the search for the murderers has brought a lot of evidence on the tables, now it remains only for the righteous to prey on the evil that lurks, and for justice to strike upon the perpetrator.

  8. When the fire presented itself as a good idea, but in practice caused more chaos than wanted, the inhabitants of Belvitz managed to stem the rat plague. But what brought the lesser rats to the surface? Rumors spread that a group of courageous adventurers went into the depths to seek the cause. For a long time they were reported missing, told by some helpful travelers who saw the adventurers crawling fully geared into a burrow leading further down the rat hole. Clearly, the depths were not to be underestimated, but blessed the courageous residents of Belvitz with gifts from the abyss..

What remains is the sticky smell of vermin and plague along with the unknowing what could be unearthed as the descendants dig close behind the vermin that populated the underground…

In the depths of the underworld a disturbance spread, the sound of ringed metal and war cries traveled with tremendous volume through the earthly domain. Hidden from the sun and that which is holy, an innovative plague populates the caves. The Ratiki, a breed that enjoys the greed of the warm-blooded descendants in war. Hidden in the depths, they gather themselves in large numbers, like the vermin that lurk in the desert and carrion of Atlas. Despite their exceedingly repugnant nature, the Ratiki are people of a mind and unseen throughout history where they accumulated vast amounts of knowledge in various areas which were thought to be conquered by the descendants. This knowledge now swelled in muck and plague evolved to suit the masses of Vermin dwelling under the surface of Atlas...

What will be unearthed by the Ratmen of Atlas?
