The Scarlet Lotus was brimming with people, and the warmth of the sun only added to the day that Jarven was having. He was sitting at the corner of the tavern; a beer in his hand and in his other a small pen scratching away at a leather tome. Jarven looked up to find a drunk dwarf looming over him. "Ay, laddeh, can ye' spare a drop o' beer?" Jarven nodded and handed the mug over to him, which the dwarf took greedily and downed in a matter of seconds. "Ain' ye' a good lad." The dwarfs ring was coated in the beer, yet he didn't seem to mind. "Able to tell me about ye'self?" Placing the pen onto the table and moving the tome away from the dwarfs dripping beard, Jarven gestured for the dwarf to sit. "I was born to a family of tinkers, they strived to be the most creative, intellectual and diligent of people." Jarven laughed, "not like they ever made anything more than a pincushion." "My mother in her spare time was a raging alcoholic, and I daren't seen my father since I was five, cept' for when he came home to ask for money. It was a lonely childhood, I made my friends in books and preferred staying away from other children, after all: I was the son of a drunk and a beggar." Jarven sighed and began to flick through pages of the tome. "Born in Petrus, I lived with my mother to the south of the city, in the darkness of a basement. As the full moon shined high in the cloudless sky, the earth began to shake. In an eruption of fire, a being of darkness arose. He took the baby from the parents and simply touched him. The entire town watched in awe as they saw what was happening; a Daemon had chosen a champion. Then, In as much suddenness as it appeared, The daemon vanished. That day, The child of a small fishing town, was blessed as a daemons champion. Daemons bloodline was full of mercenaries and bounty hunters. his father, a well known Orenian mercenary, fled the human kingdom in order to escape his dark past and local persecution. As a child, and hearing his fathers stories, Daemon often showed his anger towards his father about his abandoning the life of a warrior, and he often wished his father would take up the blade again and return to his life as a hunter. In his sons youth, daemons father spent much free time showing him how to fight, and teaching him the way of battle. Although his father tried desperately to teach him of fairness in combat, Daemon knew the only honor in battle was victory. When Daemon was 8, he headed into the woods to hunt for dinner. Hours later, he saw the dark sky and returned to his home. Upon nearing his village, he was blinded by fire. Dropping his skins, he rushed to his parents, but found them on the verge of death. They explained to him of the Orc raid that would've taken their lives, and then, they told their son, of his birth. Daemon was overwhelmed with emotions, anger, sadness, grief, and ran from the burning village. Taking nothing but his fathers blade, and the gifts he received at birth, Daemon became a paid mercenary, killing for a living. He earned a reputation amongst the land; "The man who fights like a daemon". He traveled the land, bettering his art in the blade, and trying to better his goal, his goal of being the best bounty hunter in Athera! Personality Traits:Cunning. Calculating. Daemon Stead grew up with the forests in his rural town, as he is a highlander. He loved the streams and the forests that surrounded him, he needed them to live and breathe. Yet he knew that he couldn't live in solitude in the forest like the elves did. So he abandoned what he loved and stayed where he belonged. In the town. In the town, he learned skills that he would never forget. The truth is what you make of it, a simple lie can change what the truth was to what the truth is. He learned this when he lost his family to a pack of wild animals that surrounded them whilst in the wild. From that day on, he has been wandering the land trying to live like he once wanted. Alone. Daemon lays awake on a night because of the nightmares he has been getting since an encounter with a Daemon, from which is he was renamed when he was very young. He has long since forgotten his birth names. The nightmares consist of the first realm, he dreams of the war between the races of Aegis and the undead.
