I feel that 'rollplay', even with that method you used, would be rather unrealistic.  I only do /roll when I'm just doing something small, like if someone tosses a small bag to me, I'd roll to see if my character is gonna be clumsy or not.  If I'm trying to do the Lorraine cross while drunk, I'm gonna roll to see if I end up poking my cheek on accident (I poked my cheek three times that day).  Someone's giving you a mina?  Roll to see if you successfully accept it or end up thinking they want a handshake and shake their hand.  I basically just do /roll for humorous RP, I don't think /roll is good in combat even if it's with the +1 or -1 stuff, just use it when everyone in the RP is stuck on what the outcome should be.

This sometimes happens to me when I claim food from a cauldron, last time that happened was yesterday when I moved to add it to what I had left of my bread but it vanished before clicking the bread so I ended up selecting my food and exited out to then drop my food into fire.  It was a moment of defeat....

1. Me and some friends broke into this tower owned by Tom_Whiteman and when were 'borrowing' books he came in teamspeak and everyone started screaming and tried to get out as he counted down the time left before he could ss there.  We all escaped and scattered, still shouting and panicking.
