Actually there is something I need help with. Dizzy made a post a while ago about apprentices, but never replied to my request. Are there any other runesmiths out there?

As a new player, while I don't think the systems need to be dumbed down, I would like a more thorough tutorial for how to use skills and what they're for, as well as some examples of rp skills like magic and runesmithing.

I'm Matt, though IG I'm SolidCole and my only character (so far) is Tialkar Irongut, son of Grungron Irongut. I'm a Dwarf with a twin named Shorkar, and one day you'll all know me as the greatest runesmith ever! Good to meetcha all.

I work hard in everything I do, but my brother follows me to every craft, from mining, to studies, to all forms of craft and bests me at it. Normally, I'd be able to accept that, but he never trains, he never tries, and he's lazy. I've no gift in anything, especially combat, but while tinkering with some parts I found, I found my calling in craftsmanship. On one occassion when father was visiting, I told him I wanted to become a smith, but he convinced me it was too mundane for someone as bright as me, and instead suggested runesmithing. Remember to add server lore, and events that happened to your character so that they don’t contradict history.): Fathered by Grungron Irongut himself and living in Kal’Akash with his twin brother, Shorkar, Tialkar always excelled in his studies. His brother Shorkar excelled just as much, but worked significantly less. Tialkar’s jealousy of his brother’s natural gift in all things only grew each day. Nonetheless, he took the high road, and studied nonstop for his entire youth. When he tried to take up the skills involved in hand to hand combat, he failed miserably, because he was too uncoordinated. Eventually he was tinkering around with some random junk he found in his room and realized his greatest gift was in craftsmanship. In one of the rare instances when Grungron was home, Tialkar showed his father some of his work and expressed interest in smithing. Grungron convinced Tialkar that smithing would bore him as it was too mundane and suggested another avenue; Runesmithing. Tialkar, finally happy to find a calling, was heartbroken when Shorkar informed him of his intent to become a runesmith too. Grungron had told both sons to become runesmiths, and Tialkar was resolute in becoming the best; or at least better than Shorkar.
