What is roleplaying?: The imitation of a character, frequently one you devised. For example, you could be an elvish mage devoted to cleansing the world of evil. What is metagaming?: The use of out of character knowledge, in character. For example, one might message another player for help if attacked and no-one was within earshot. What is powergaming?: Dictating that your character succeeds at an action in roleplay or leaving another player with no way to respond to your action. For example, in a text based combat, one might say that their character slices the head off of their opponent. Character’s name: Virdius Liadon Character’s sex: Male Character’s race: High Elf Character’s age: 40 Biography (Please make it a decent two paragraphs long. Remember to add server lore, and events that happened to your character so that they don’t contradict history.): My character is the brother of of an existing character. I have permission here. Virdius Liadon, younger brother of Sariel Liadon, was born in the year 1488. When he was ten, King Andrik Vydra was murdered, and the Liadon family moved from Haelun’or into the Wilds. During this time, he discovered his talent with the sword. He always loved to go out and practice swordplay with his mother. His elder sister Sariel was usually too engrossed in her studies to really notice him, but sometimes she would entertain him while their parents went out hunting. The food they caught was usually small animals such as rabbits, but occasionally larger animals were caught such as deer. It was a simple existence for the family of four, with little excitement. Just as they liked it. In the year 1513, when Virdius was 25, the family moved to Vailor due to most of the realm of Athera being destroyed by a giant worm. They remained separate from the other Mali’aheral still, setting up residence in the Wilds once more. When Virdius was 35, his older sister moved away. This was somewhat troubling for him, but not as much as it could have been, since she was frequently aloof. About three years later, he saw a wild boar during his daily sword practice, and went to tell his parents about it. They decided that a boar was a safety hazard for what remained of the small family, and went to go kill it. Virdius wanted to come, but his parents forbade it. That, unfortunately, was not enough to keep him away. He slipped after them and watched in horror as the boar slaughtered his parents. Terrified and helpless to stop it, Virdius was forced to run from the boar. He lived mostly on his own for a while, occasionally begging a little food or lodging from a monastery. He couldn’t really get enough food for himself, so he decided to seek out help (or possibly his sister) in Haelun’or. Personality Traits: Stubborn, he will not back down from anything. Ambitions: To become skilled enough to fight back against things that threaten him or his family when need be. Strengths/Talents: Strong, and somewhat skilled with a sword. He is also fairly bright, but prefers to leave thinking to others. Weaknesses/Inabilities: Unwilling to lose, he will not back down even if it is clear he cannot win. Appearance (List the extra details of your characters appearance, IE; height & weight): Purple eyes, blond hair, about six foot seven, and about average weight. He wears a blue jacket with pale blue trim and buttons, blue pants, a white shirt, and brown boots.
