  1. The Ashen Orc, from an age long past, stood guard by the shrine for hours, DAYS on end. His mind wandered as he sat, little food in his belly but a gaze of determination locked in his amber eyes. A group of four elves approached the large monolith, however Yuglix did not see them as his mind had already meandered far away from the site of the monument. Only as the elves spoke did he notice that the shrine was threatened, and so he stood up to face them. "Ztay awey from da shrine, twigz." He said, his voice deep and booming.

"What purpose does it serve? Spiritual or Military?"  Inquired one of the elves.

"It iz a shrine tu Leyd, a zymbol of his power, an extenzion uf his domain."

One of the Elves approached the shrine, however quickly halted when the aging Yar snapped at her to stop. "Nub zkahin touch it!" He had shouted, the young elven maiden freezing in her tracks.

"If it is not here for Military Purposes, I will see it is not destroyed. I have family with a great respect for your religion, Uruk. It may in fact please the spirit worshipping 'Ker here. Now please leave, sir. I will see it is not destroyed."  Said the Elf, who had his weapon drawn but not readied. The Uruk let out a breath, letting his hand meander down the shaft of his axe to the bottom, letting it simply hang at his side.

"Mi will return everi day, if id iz nub here when mi get bakk, dere will be blood." With that, the Ork left the shrine and the elven lands.

"Its pretty sad you put up a spirit shrine in enemy lands, not for dedication, but for a casus beli. You know they'll remove the shrine because you built it illegally and they don't worship the spirits, so you'll use this as your fishing hook to try bait the wood elves so you have your casus beli." says Felix Fitch.

Later that day, Yuglix bursts into Felix's place of worship shouting, "IZ LAT TRYIN' TU GO TO WAAAGH WIT DA ORKZ BY WORSHIPPIN'?!"

  2. Observing the general Backlash, Yuglix sighed and leaned back. He placed his pipe in his mouth, puffing on the smouldering green. "It's funny, really..." He began, "Many if not all people see Uruks as honorable, at least when their rage is pointed somewhere else. But suddenly, when you're on the other side o' the honorable WAAAGH, suddenly the orcs have lost their honor and ya miss the good old days." He grinned, removing the pipe from his mouth and exhaling a thick cloud of green smoke. "Twigs seem to think the definition of honor is not attacking them specifically. We can be honorable, we can attack other people, but Krug forbid we attack them and their little clique." Laughter escaped the dry and cracked lips of the ashen skinned Uruk, "I should write a book on this stuff. Call it, 'Dumb Stuff 'Umies Say'. Could fill a good 600 or so pages..."

Merridolph looks around at the various Elves and Orcs, "Funny, they both think they're the good guys. Can't wait to see this- The people who enslaved me and whipped me and nearly beat me to death, and the people who tried to drown me to death for making too much noise...and then throwing me out on my ass...and kicking me senseless..."

  4. MC Name: micbox2

    Character's Name: Genfod

    Character's Age: 23 (Before Transformation)

Character's Original Race (N/A if not applicable): Cave Dwarf

    Transformed form: Aberrant Homunculus (Earth)

    Creator's MC Name: Beordan

    Creator's RP Name: Rafiel

Briefly explain the lore behind this construct or creature: Homunculi are creatures created via alchemy, either by accident or in an attempt to create a new, perfect being (often going horribly wrong...or horribly right). Each Homunculus possesses no moral compass, and only look out for #1. However, they have been known to be highly manipulative and often will simulate friendships or do good deeds in order to receive some sort of benefit or reward. A Homunculus is an alchemical creature, and alchemies relies on elemental symbols. Because of this, the dominant symbol will be reflected in the creature's appearance and personality. Homunculi, unless they are the lowest tier known as fiends (Short lived, mutated abominations), are created from mortal creatures. Aberrants and Homunculi, at the top of the perfection scale, are created from living specimens whereas the deviants are created from the dead. Once 'reborn', they shed the personality (and depending on the tier, skills) they once had in exchange for a new one. Depending on the tier, their appearances and abilities will differ. Fiends are abominations, the lowest on the scale, and are also stupid weaklings who are rife with mutations and bear many marks of their dominant symbol. Deviants are very mutated, short lived, and are almost at the bottom of the scale. They are oftentimes stupid and weak, but depending on their base symbol they may differ. They bear many traits of their original element. Aberrants are almost at the top, having very few mutations and oftentimes slight discoloration according to their symbol. They are stronger, faster, and overall better than their mortal equivalent. Doppelgangers are highly powerful, are completely identical to their original form, and are at the top of the scale. Homunculi higher on the scale do not have to rely on mortal things like blood and organs. The symbols will often grant powers, personalities, and appearances as stated above. Fire Homunculi are strong, brave, and violent- taking on a red skin tone or red features. Earth Homunculi are strong willed, stubborn, resilient and take on brown or yellow features and skin tones. Water Homunculi are blue or have blue features, and are elegant and calm. Air Homunculi have pale or completely white features, and are smart and quick. Homunculi have many weaknesses, one of them being aurum and holy magic due to their unnatural nature. They also are weak to the opposite of their base element. Most Homunculi, save for Doppelgangers, have shortened lifespans aswell.

Maybe orcs are like seahorses! This would make sense considering how few women they've historically had. (I notice a lot more these days tho). I'm jesting again, I don't actually think orcs are seahorses.

Maybe the character whom allowed the Tale of Dom to pass IC was mistaken or didn't want Krug to be regarded as weak because of the contemporary gender discrimination issues we face. Decided to say it was not Krug who gave birth, but this Grahla character. Gender discrimination runs deep. It's caused many women to take pseudonyms and pretend to be men just to be received with respect.

I doubt they would do that just to fend off gender discrimination, considering most Uruks view women as equals since they can smash stuff and pillage stuff just as good, and are just as honorable.

Grahla could've actually been a man. Who is actually the character that wrote these lore pieces about the clan history, a shaman? I have a heavy suspicion these were all written out of character based on Availer's first account. No-doubt doing that is going to set the tone for used pronouns. I will say that it may be confusing for players, but not the new ones. It's just confusing for the old ones to consider that they perhaps based everything they've written on the assumption that four brothers could populate the world. That's relevant only because I think it sets up the fact that our writers come from a male-centric point of view. This is a classic case of Mulan.

Grahla couldn't have been a man. The Tale Of Dom actually starts out with Grahla giving birth.

Most potent conclusion. Yet, why would Iblees think that a curse upon Krug if she truly lacked vanity in the first place? Maybe that's the clincher and Iblees made Krug become worried about her looks, creating vanity which fueled into the curse of bloodlust (uncontrollable anger?). Could have been an insult to injury, but sadly we've got little to work with here. Very good analysis of Iblees' flawed logic about what made Krug tick tho, I could completely see Iblees doing something like that. Imperfect character is the Archdaemon.

Still, I think the overwhelming amount of lore, tomes, stories, etc. that refer to Krug as male is evidence enough. Why would EVERY SINGLE WRITER EVER, get that wrong?

    https://wikia.lordofthecraft.net/index.php?title=Dom

https://wikia.lordofthecraft.net/index.php?title=Gorkil (The MOTHER dies, and Krug is still alive in this story, as well. Krug lives on past this story, so that probably means Krug is male if its his MOTHER who died but Krug lives on)

    https://wikia.lordofthecraft.net/index.php?title=Ancient_History

In this Lore, krug is called male in each. For one, it lists 'The Four Brothers' as Krug, Horen, Malin, and Urguan. Four BROTHERS. Also, shamans call krug 'The Oldfather.' There are orcs who claim to have met Krug in their shamanic endeavours or dreams/vision, I cannot find the lore for it but it's there.

I direct you to the final portion of my original post:

I can even see arguments against this idea such as; Krug was cursed because of touching Iblees, not because Iblees cursed Krug! If that were the case, why would Iblees say, and I quote again, "and your descendants shall grow ugly and heartless.

Literally the last thing Iblees is mentioned saying to Krug is the prolonging of the afflicted features.

    0

True, but perhaps Iblees thought it would be a curse when it wasn't? Think about it, Iblees had already underestimated Krug once, thinking he would fall for a trick or be so vain as to take his 'gifts', wouldn't it make sense if he made the same mistake again?

  10. 8 minutes ago, A Wandering Wizard said:

This is true, flaws are universal. It is also true that each race started from the same point. Yet, again, I ask why would Iblees think that making Krug ugly would be considered a curse? Krug had to have been beautiful. Why was Krug disinterested in Iblees? Krug may have been a heterosexual woman that wasn't swayed like Horen, Malin and Urguan.

edit: I'm having hella fun talking about this with you guys! It's really interesting to see what comes up in these sorts of historical debates. I like actually being engaged like this.

But you're missing a big thing. Iblees didn't curse him to be ugly, it was a result of years of combat with the Daemon and giving his face and body charred to a crisp.

  11. 1 minute ago, Aelsioln said:

Your argument has holes. Vanity isn't linked to gender at all, men can be just as vain as women can be. As for the pointy ears the four brothers all started out the same race I believe, it was the curses from Iblees and Aeriel that divided them into races.

Agreed. And even then, they still have some great genetic similarities. They have to for there to be half breeds.

  12. I wanna do this but I'm scared my whole pride of my irish heritage is gonna be a lie. I'm pretty sure I've got plenty though, my dad did one but he's the side of my family that's mostly scottish and english so I already knew what he would get. On the bright side, at the very least I'm 17% Irish, probably more since my great aunt on my mom's side took one and she got like, 25% viking 75% Irish
