In-Character Information
Character’s name: Clay Feng
Character’s sex: male
Character’s race: human
Character’s age: 43
Biography:
Clay was raised alongside his brother in the Caliphate. His parents were both healers during the time of the Plague, using their skills to help anyone who was in need, and Clay was taught early on to value all life and the things nature gave to them. After the plague began to worsen, Clay’s family packed their things and moved to Haria.
Growing up, Clay and his brother were nigh inseparable, and frequently went exploring and playing make-believe. On an outing when they were nine, his brother lost his footing from a ravine while they were climbing and was killed by the fall. Clay blamed himself for his death, and withdrew considerably within himself after the experience. He absorbed himself in studying healing and the arcane-- any way he could learn to help people.
When he came of age, Clay decided to leave his home. His parents agreed that perhaps a change of atmosphere, someplace that wasn’t shrouded by a painful memory, would clear his mind and allow him to start living for the future instead of in the past. Clay hasn’t stopped travelling since, never feeling comfortable enough to settle in one place for too long, but throughout he has always made an effort to help those in need.
He currently rests his head in Sutica, after deciding he was getting a little up in age to keep up his cross-country wandering. The pacifist nature of its people is far more suitable to him than the harsher, more dangerous environments of most everywhere else he’s roamed in Vailor.
Personality Traits: Clay is quietly observant of his surroundings and in most cases will examine a situation thoroughly before deciding to act. He is a gentle man, but is fiercely loyal to those who have earned his trust, and will defend them without question.
Ambitions: He just wants to finally be able to call someplace home.
Strengths/Talents: Clay is very altruistic and likes to think he’s a good problem-solver. During his extensive travels he learned well enough how to fight, having to adapt to hostile environments quickly. He knows enough to get by.
Weaknesses/Inabilities: Afraid of heights and prone to internalizing his perceived failures and insecurities. This can sometimes prevent him from taking action in situations he knows he may be able to help. And, despite his usual level-headedness, if family, friends, or his own merit are put into question or under threat, he can occasionally have a short fuse that will get him into trouble he may not always be able to get himself out of.
Appearance: Clay’s pale blue eyes and sharp features stand out with his dark umber skin. His jet black hair is locked in dreads that fall just past his shoulders, and are usually pulled back in a ponytail or a bun.
