  2. Out-Of-Character Information Please do your best to correct spelling and grammatical errors, this is an RP server and writing is the main form of communication! What’s your Minecraft account name?: so11uth How old are you?: I am 23 What timezone are you in?: Central Standard time GMT -6:00 Are you aware the server is PG-13 (You won’t be denied for being under 13): I am, yes. Have you read and agreed to the rules?: Yes I have. What’s the rule you agree with the most?: I particularly like the rule that Villainous characters should be fun for all the players that interact with them and not just the person playing said villainous character. I tend to play villains more than heroes, and I take a lot of pleasure in making memorable and fun interactions and connections with the people I play with. Are there any rule(s) that confuse you or don’t make sense? (if so we can help clear it up!): I am a little confused about this one in particular: Do I have to inform everyone OOCly that I am impersonating someone? That just seems to be counter-productive to me, like giving away the ending for the people involved and seems very vulnerable to meta-gaming. I might just be misunderstanding it, but I would like clarification. How did you find out about Lord of the Craft?: I was just wanting to get back into RP after a hiatus from it and remembered a few friends back in the day that had played here before coming to the server I met them on. Link(s) to past Whitelist Applications (If applicable): Have you logged into the server yet? (You cannot be whitelisted without logging in at least once): Yes, I have. Definitions Feel free to Google the answers or browse our forums, but make sure that you write the reply in your own words, not those of another website or person! Plagiarizing will result in the automatic denial of your application! What is roleplaying?: Roleplaying is creating a character to interact with other characters within the confines of a believable setting around which interactions can be facilitated for mutual enjoyment. What is metagaming?: Using knowledge that you as the player have acquired out of character to manipulate or act upon circumstances that your character otherwise would have no knowledge of. What is power-emoting (powergaming)?: Forcing another player into an action without their consent or refusing to obey rules of IC conduct and "cheating" be refusing to lose or inventing new powers and strengths to win regardless of the characters actual abilities. In-Character Information Character’s name: Solluth Character’s sex: Male Character’s race: Mali'ker Character’s age: 529 Biography: In the dead of winter 1039, in an unassuming and unremarkable border town of the Holy Princedom of Malidor, a dark-skinned elven baby was born onto the land of Aegis. Sadly, what would normally be a time of happiness for his parents was instead wrought with tragedy. His mother, the towns herbalist, did not live to see the son she had brought into the world and with her loss Solluth's father, the owner of the village's humble library, was left alone to care for the sickly infant. Possessed of a keen intellect from a young age, Solluth began reading his father's books before he was old enough to run, a talent that came very late to him with his long and brittle legs. Taking up a walking stick to aid him on the rare occasion when he needed to leave the library the boy showed no interest in the activities of the few other children in his home, in truth he showed no interest in anything but the books that he was rapidly running out of. Solluth's father often tried to impress upon his son the importance and significance of community and family, of his own heritage and the veneration of his ancestors. He cared very little, for the lessons or in truth for the man handing them down to him. Eventually realizing that he had precious few things in common with the communal bonds the other inhabitants of his rural hometown the now very tall and very gaunt Elf, nearing his 64th year, decided to simply find somewhere that he could better assimilate into and so left unceremoniously. Hitching a ride with travelling traders of motley and multi-racial backgrounds his unwillingness to socialize was scarcely noticed. He was bound for Luminaire, and the more sophisticated life he imagined he would find there. To his utter disappointment, once he finally arrived he found that the values his forgotten father had tried to extol upon him were not the quaint way of petty villagers but the broader tones of what appeared to be the culture of the entirety of his dark-skinned brethren. Deciding to instead continue his self-education where he had left it he presented himself to the largest library he could find, readily volunteering to work there for a pittance for as long as it would take for him to exhaust their vast collection of tomes or find a more suitable means to acquire the knowledge he craved. And so, work he did. Day after day he stocked shelves, repaired damaged books and fixed his cold gaze upon those who returned books in any condition but what they left in. For nearly two hundred and forty years he was content. And then came the Undead. Endless were their hordes. Assault after assault crashed upon the bastions of the Descendant Races, eventually driving them from Aegis entirely. Solluth was changed the day he fled Luminaire, and neither for the better or worse. He still retained the unslakable thirst he had felt since childhood for knowledge, but now it was focused. Witnessing the raw power of the Undead Necromancers he knew what his purpose in life was to become. He would uncover the secrets of the Void, unlock its magic for himself. And once he had it, he would bend the world around him. He no longer able to be content with being cloistered and isolated from the world with his books, not anymore, now he would sell his knowledge in return for more in kind and with it he would create his own society. One not based on paltry concepts like tradition or honor or other such romantic self-indulgence but one based upon the cold and immutable power of remorseless logic and and the rule of iron law. ((==Can and will write more about the periods of his life between this and the current IC year if required==)) Personality Traits: Solluth tries above all to present an air of sophistication and amiable companionship maintaining. Underneath his genteel smile, however, he is constantly calculating. Storing away every scrap of information in his steely trap of a brain in order to weave a spidery web around himself to reach his goals of power. In moments of confusion or stress, cracks appear in the porcelain mask he puts on however, his bitter contempt for what he views as disposable assets bubbles up and he will unleash verbal tirades at the drop of a hat against any who displease him or hiss threats aimed at the weakest spots of the people he surrounds himself with in order to undermine their confidence and bend to his will. Ambitions: He aspires to raise himself to the highest power he can reach, even if it means standing on a mountain of those that get in his way. Strengths/Talents: His calm demeanor and calculated personality excels at providing services in a diplomatic or advisory function, he is quick-witted and highly intelligent... Even if he can at times be condescending with his counsel. Weaknesses/Inabilities: Solluth is very physically frail. At times he requires the aid of his slender black cane to ascend flights of stairs or for periods requiring mobility or standing for prolonged periods. He also struggles at times with his own form of an existential crisis, being largely devoid of the ability to experience remorse or infatuation or form anything more than superficial friendships or connections with people at times he is left emotionally crippled and unable to empathize with anyone. In Dark Elven society family and social bonds are vital. Being cut off from his own people in such a jarring and crucial way has left an indelible mark on him. A good friend he can be, but any kinship one might feel for him is returned only in the form of a convincing simulation, never in truth. Appearance: Solluth is aberrantly tall for a Dark Elf, standing near to 6'7" when he can stand up unhindered by the limp and cane he employs to compensate for it. His height, however, has gained him no mass to his figure, as beneath the flowing robes he wears he is rail thin and possessed of arms and legs that resemble the limbs of spiders more than elves, ending in hands that are slender as the rest of him with nearly unnervingly long fingers and the silken hands of one who has never had to resort to manual labor. His hair is typical of his heritage, being shock white and worn long, draped over his shoulders to frame the high cheekbones and razor sharp bones of his face. He could possibly be considered attractive in a hawkish and arrogant way, though attempts at approaching him in this way are favored with little more in response than his cold and disinterested stare. His red eyes constantly scan his surroundings, compensating for his willowy frame with cunning that lies obvious in his face. His hunched posture, long robes, sharp features and predatory gaze give the impression of a bird-of-prey or vulture, a comparison he takes a hidden pleasure in and makes no attempt to deny. Skin: And here is my picture. Fingers crossed!
