Autumn Harvest Festival of the Dominion

Around the Dominion, a flyer is hung on signposts, and outside its borders, it's handed to allies and friends alike. It contains an invitation with the date and location of the event

(October 20th starting at 5pm (EST), outside the Dominion gates (to the left!))

The Dominion will be hosting an Autumnal Harvest festival for its citizens and allies, taking place just outside the city's gates. The festival will include a variety of activities including (but not limited to);

• Fortune Telling: Lord Alvried Marlowe will be reading your tarot cards in his tent!
• Bobbing for Apples: Compete with your fellow festival-goers to bob for the most amount of apples! The person with the highest score will be given a mina prize! But feel free to bet and compete against your friends or rivals!
• Pumpkin Carving Contest: Carve beautiful pumpkins for fun and for bragging rights! A panel of judges will asses all submissions for artistic value and give out prizes to the top three entries accordingly!
• Costume Contest: Come in the scariest or most beautiful costumes you can muster, the grand prize winner will be determined by the festival staff! The winner will earn a commission from Morrigyn (rosediode)! Possibly the biggest prize. Even if you feel like you don't want to enter, costumes are highly encouraged!

Along with this various souvenirs and snacks will be for sale at the main festival booth! Come to visit and see what you would like to buy!

All allies of the Dominion are not only welcome but encouraged to attend this celebration of harvest time!

I think overall this is a better option than what was on the table before. I have several issues that we can address in pms if you’d like my input but overall I think the lore is solid. The up in the air nature of the current lore as led most witches to grow inactive (myself included) and I think this will bring people back to their characters. I don’t have a problem with the force PKs because since there is currently no consequences for death, it is a way for groups like frosties to self police. If you’ve complained about slice of life ice gf rp in the past this is a good way for witches to have the power to prevent other players from making that the culture around the lore.

The Driftwood Non-Aggression Pact, 1682

On this date, 14th of the First Seed 1682, do we mark a strive forward in the name of peace and prosperity. As the Dominion of Malin, ruled fairly and justly by our esteemed Queen Renn Calithil, and the Trade Federation of Sutica, ruled by the Trade Princess Cyrene have signed an accord to further maintain and ensure a pact of non-aggression by the two nations.

The following terms go into effect henceforth;

I. Non-Aggression:

• The Dominion of Malin and the Trade Federation of Sutica shall not aggress the other signatory in any form of transgression of the other signatory’s state law.

• Both signatories officially recognize the sovereign borders of each realm and their sovereign rule, as well as relinquish any concurrent military footholds within these borders. Military personnel of each signatory will not occupy territories within the other signatory’s realm, and will refrain from aggressing their immediate borders.

• Both signatories will refrain from initiating conflict or warfare against the other signatory in any form; this is inclusive but not limited to: declaration of war, campaigning within their borders, espionage, denouncement, skulduggery, etcetera.

II. Trade:

• The borders of either signatories shall be open to trade and secure routes by both naval and land access.

• Trade between both signatories shall be unrestricted non inclusive of economic law, allowing the mercantile classes of either to sell their wares freely without discrimination.

The above pact is to undergo a reviewal process every 8 years, and if the approval process does not succeed within a year of starting the approval process, the pact shall be considered invalid.

I would appreciate seeing the art sourced on this post (pm me if you need help with anything, I think you have my discord). Otherwise, this lore is cohesive and easy to understand. This is a great example of long lore that doesn't seem bloated or pointless, and I can't wait to see it impacts in roleplay.

Offer an explanation of the magic(s) you are learning:  Telekinesis is the art of moving objects with the mind alone. It effects gravity on objects and it rapidly fades away after use. An object must be solid to be moved, and difficulty (and therefore mana expended) increases based on size and weight of the object, multitude of the objects, and the speed at which they are moved. Living things do to their irregularities are next to impossible to move. Common uses for Teleinesis are household magics, working with object(s) at a distance, and in battle, throwing objects at a target.

Joel can be more civil and helpful about Lore questions than people give him credit for.

He has answered my lore questions in a pretty nice and polite manner without being on the team and I think he can provide good insight to help others make their own works stronger, which, at the end of the day should be the most important part. 

Also frostie thralls are ripped straight from actual vampire lore. So you can't exactly say Joel was copying frost witches when taking thralls have been a thing in almost every vampire work of fiction. (Dracula's bug-eaters, Strahd's zombie vampires, etc etc.)

Why do you feel thulean druidism is more exclusive in it's current state than Soul Puppetry, or Strigas, or even Blood Magic itself? It's not like Cameron doesn't take students or doesn't recruit, but that is made doubly hard by the druids hunting people down for being in any way connected to his characters. If multiple people other than Cameron attain the disconnection feat (like Mitto and Eli), it wouldn't be in his pocket at all.

Regular druidism can disconnect people so to me it only makes sense that this form of druidism has the same availability, to me if thulean druidism were just a feat and not associate with a circle, it would make less sense. But it is associated with the 'Shadow Circle'.

They've been good! I've been doing some local stuff, mostly clean ups/inking but I get the occasional background which is super fun, I can't say what for though for a while. I should actually paint some stuff for Ben Brode/Blizzard when I'm not swamped with projects lmao.

Introductory units suck but once you're drowning in projects you'll want it back trust me lol.

Briefly explain the lore behind this construct or creature: 

Frost witches are women who have been cursed by a frost mother. They have to be depressed or lonely to be open to the curse. They begin to transform within a few days, their hair turning white, their skin turning color, and their body temperature drops. Their teeth grow sharp, more apt for eating meat and tearing into flesh.

It is possible to fight off the curse, but unlikely if the woman lacks the strength of will. As the curse progresses their blood turns to slush, and they are frozen in their age and form. They become immortal until someone kills them. Their height and weight even remain, even when using voidal or dark arts. After an elven week they are taught how to disguise themselves, allowing them to change their flesh and bone to any of the other descendant races. However, they are still as cold as a corpse. The disguise comes with a flaw, and if they are found out, they owe whoever found them out one favor, with limits, as they can not hurt themselves or their coven.

They can also control ice and snow much like an evocation, being able to cool water to freezing, gathering ice from moisture in the air, and the much easier feat of manipulating already frozen water. For all these feats, frost witches survive off the flesh of men, consuming it.

Weakness: Holy magic, fire, heat.
