Sorry, I meant for that to sound more like a question. When I explain my full idea does that make sense, or do you still think it would be better for me to join into a family? You know the scene more than I do, mate. I'd appreciate the advice.

That'd be great, except that I don't want to join up with someone only to find out that I wasn't really interested in the roleplay, or anything like that. Not that I'm planning on it - so far this world is the best and most detailed I've found - I would just hate to let anyone down. Mostly I want to play a child because I want to be able to ask questions that adults should already know. About history or stigma... I want to be able to question anything. I wouldn't want to play a young child, or even an orphan honestly, probably about thirteen or fourteen. I was thinking about making my parents NPCs, or at least characters that don't show up for whatever reason. Good thing too, since it sounds like orphans probably aren't the most liked.

Can I ask why it's difficult to start out as a child?

Question: I read somewhere that elvish children are well-taken care of by the adults. Would it be viable to play a child who's parents are no longer present? I'm guessing that they probably wouldn't be neglectful on purpose, but dead or banished or something like that? OR would it be better to find someone willing to play parents? OR EVEN that their parents are basically NPCs.

Aaah, alright I see. So I would need to apply for an adult character, but I could play a child afterwards? Am I understanding that right? Could I at least apply with my character as an adult but then downgrade them to a child once I am actually on the server?

Question, what if it's an elf? Technically elves don't become adults until fifty right?

At this point I'm probably going to play a child - just because then I won't feel quite as bad asking questions during roleplay - since the child probably wouldn't know. If I play as an adult character I would feel like... an idiot asking, even though it makes sense for me as the player to ask the question.

I saw this server a few days ago and I've decided that, yes, I do have enough time to play around with it. It looks fun. Don't read into that sentence. It was innocent. So, with any luck, you'll probably see an app from me sometime in the near future. I want to look into the races a bit more before making a real decision since it looks like once you pick it's pretty concrete.
