  1. Seated far off, Ceru’lenniel lets the paper down on his desk with a sigh. The young scholar slowly rises from his chair, pacing out across the courtyard just outside as he thinks.
”The days of Malin are gone for near two-thousand years. True unity has never been seen since the first days. If we wish to move forward, we can’t keep claiming to serve a dead king. If we wish to unify, we can’t cling to dead days.”

If CA creature bloat is a problem,

The concept of a CA bloat is nonsense as well. “Oh no there’s too many fantasy creatures on this fantasy server”. That’s stupid. As well as they’re written well and provide RP, let them stay, even if just one person is playing one

  3. [![Flyers would be sent out to all those cities involved in the firewatch alliance

An observation concerning the war against demonkind

During the meeting within the rexdom, leaders of many spoke. Concerns were brought up, and arguments were made both for defense and attack.

This paper would be an argument of attack based of the arguments of defense.

It was brought up that aggression is wasteful and dangerous – called suicide by some. It was brought up that the demons had not attacked, rather seemed rather content to simply defend the land they have claimed from descendantkind. The reason for this being the meteors that they had come down with, appearing to be massive skeletons of some dead creature.

Aggression was called suicide because these demons appear to grow in power from blood, and it can thus be assumed, death, as they have been seen consuming corpses.

With the expansion of their warcamp, first a simple pallisade, now an encampment and siegeworks being prepared, we can see their power growing.

This argument for aggression is then of this simple concern. If they feed off blood and death, by lacking aggression we give them time to feed off the bodies they’re based around, to feed off the meteors with which they came down.
If this observation has been made and is publically known, then good, this paper is useless and can be discarded as simply a consequence of lacking information.

Has it not however, I urge all leaders within the firewatch alliance and without to reconsider their strategy for this coming war, as any wasted time will lead to the direct power increase of our existensial foes, and if we are unfortunate, giving them enough time without interruption may lead to them being unstoppable once the power from this corpse has been absorbed.

As such, I urge all leaders to dedicate to campaigns of harassement on the demon camp, to prevent their progress and do as much damage as we can, keep them level. While it is accepted that we can not at this moment beat them, if this above theory is true, we need to continually damage them so that they may never be capable of beating us.

  4. “The shades will always hide in the shadows.” Ihnsil’ahril, a paladin of Xan sets the missive down with a deep sigh “They have been ‘taken care of’ for decades, and yet another always appears. Whether or not a teller of tall tales has truly taken Gehenna, they will akin to vermin to appear once more, to believe otherwise is simple arrogance.”

  5. A proper response from me this time with actual opinions on it :

I think guns could be added, I wouldn’t protest.
But I also think literary anything to spice up RP would probably be a good option at this point.
I joined towards the middle of Axios, during the eighteen years war, about two months before Johannesburg went boom.

And I do remember it was rather fun, having cannons and magical weapons, some cool magics that were around, materials like carbarum and bluesteel, dragonscales were a material used in armour that came up in RP a few times, necromancy was still a thing so you had to fight the occasional undead, gods were still allowed to interact with their followers, We still had soap.

What I’m trying to say is – I think the server should let itself go back towards those times where there were genuinely interesting stuff, because right now the arguments of “It’s a medieval fantasy server” doesn’t really fly, because we’re not really medieval, and we have lost a good amount of the fantasy aspects.

So yeah, go ahead and add muskets. But if guns get added, also add some more fantasy aspects, add some interesting things, make LOTC an actually interesting server you can do cool stuff on again instead of just being one of the most vanilla, boring DND wannabe settings ever. Guns could spice it up some if more aspects were /also/ added alongside them.

Thank you, you have just detailed exactly how guns should work on LoTC. Thank you for proving my point.

If you think guns should work like a magic – be applied to be a gunsmith, go through a process to learn to use them, and be weak to many of the same things (Being interrupted, people who don’t run and hide but instead just walk up to you and smack you) Then yeah, sure, but I doubt that’s how it’s going to go. Simply speaking from experience with alchemy and magic and such, that has also at many times been abused in ways they weren’t supposed to.

I do also think it’s rather complicated and needless when a far simpler solution would be to say they’re just another ranged weapon. Which in and of itself is not that bad, until you think of all the current arguing with not a single soul agreeing with the power of a longbow, arbalest, “heavy crossbow” and armour, etc, etc. Everyone cites a different youtube video as proof, and then wait thirty minutes to two hours for a mod to show up and tell them to either void it or make their own decision based on a youtube video.
Flintlocks and such would only increase this issue, and many new and old to the server would entirely misunderstand what a “gun” is. Not to mention that people would almost immediatelly start to try to logically advance them along to more advanced weapons – I know this because I am one of these people, I find inventions cool, and lotc has far too few inventions for the potential there could be. Unique siege weapons from back on Axios comes to mind as some wonderful examples of this. But in this case, I don’t think it’d work especially well, as it often has not in the past. Broken alchemy and magic from also back on Axios comes to mind.

Adding magic makes all else useless, it would force others to adopt magic. It affects everyone on the server.

Changing a single word is not just not clever, it’s also very clearly false. Magic is nowhere near as effective as people make it out to be, it isn’t an ultimate weapon of mass-destruction like I’ve seen suggested on this thread.
In fact, almost all  magic can be countered by throwing a rock, or slapping the guy in one of the three to seven emotes he has to take to actually cast his spell. Not to mention magic is very closely regulated with applications both to teach and learn, each person only being able to teach three at a time, and the several-page long guides written detailing everything with said magic so it can’t be powergamed or too OP, that then goes through an extended period of review with the LT (upwards of nine months, as we have recently learned) and then finally people can actually use it.
So if you want to have something /really/ OP to complain about, ban throwing rocks. Throwing rocks makes most magic useless.

all the people saying ‘guns cant exist in fantasy’ have an extremely slim view of what fantasy can entail

the reason guns are bad is literally because i dont trust the mod team to take an active and smart way at balancing the system for it

anyone remember ggt abusing medeusculors (the magic guns) before and just causing the entire server to go into chaos as people did 1 shot drive bys

You’re literally murder hobo paladin with your team and my character did such things 6 months ago, plus i’ve not really things against you, you’re the only one who loves mock me 24/7, just wake up.

as one of “her team” of apparent murderhobos. We go to long godammned extents to avoid killing RP. Ask anyone who has actually interacted with us. A few off the top of my head – Fay, Solaria, Mia, those are the three ones I remember. Talk to their players.
We try to avoid killing RP because it isn’t really RP, it leads nowhere and gives no character development. Repenting is a big thng we go for, giving as many second chances as we possibly can to give character development.

It’s only when we really don’t have a choice that we go to killing people in roleplay – such as with Maya, who has always been an evil and scheming character,a nd never showed any signs of changing, and equally always comes back from death either way, no matter what you do.

Calling us murderhobos just shows a gross misunderstanding of what kind of roleplay we do, and just sounds like you’re trying to poison the waters against a group you just simply don’t like.

Briefly explain the lore behind this construct or creature:

The kharajyr are bipedal cat-like humanoids who were created after the descendants by metztli, the godess of time.

She made them as, in her eyes, creatures of perfection.

The kha were to begin with very religious and prayed often to Metztli, sacrificing descendant pray to their godess. but when a leader fell to heresy and stopped praying to her, she got angered and set off a volcano on the island the kharajyr called home.

As such, the four kinds of Kharajyr, the pantera, tigrasi, leparda and cheetrah led by their ‘tla found their way to the descendants, where they began carving out a place for their own civilization.

These four subraces, while being the same race and even being able to ahve children with one another, are very distinct from one another.

The tigrasi are the largest, often over six feet tall with more musclemass with the rest, they’re at times seen as the soldiers of the kha.

The pantera average out at a little under six feet, and are well known for being just as stealthy as their namesake, often experts at both physically being sneaky and moving without being seen, but also being good businessmen and skileld at lucrative affairs.

The leparda are the most balanced out kha, very comparable to humans in size and strength, but are still as quick as its brethren.

And lastly, the cheetrah are even smaller, often more agile and quick in exchange, but lack significantly more musclemass than the rest of the kha.

The kharajyr themselves are anatomically different from the other humanoids around, as they have digitrade legs, feline head with jaws filled with sharp fangs inside, catlike eyes and ears, claws and a tail.

They can, and most prefer to, move on two legs, but if the situation calls for it they can go down on all fours and outrun most if not all other intelligent creatures with some effort.

And finally, the history of the kharajyr after joining the descendants have since the beginning been plagued with unfortune, multiple wars with  orcs and such that they’ve lost, and in general the slow decline of their people to the very brink of extinction at times, though most recently new hope for their kind has sprung up and the kharajyr people have grown and settled more firmly beneath the shadow of haelun’or.

Telanir did notify the Staff Team of his holiday leave fairly early into December.  Stating he would be back during the New Year, now at this point we are awaiting his return to fix this current server issue or for Tythus to do so.

Or at the least one of them give Korvic the access he needs to fix the server since Llir wasn't able too. Just for clarification purposes.

ah, right, so he’s not just competely MIA, that’s good at least

  13. So, quick recap to make sure I got this right :
Servers down, no plugins can be tested, and Telanir has gone without word being the one who has to come back to fix it, and is unable to contacted.

For some reason I am not in the slightest surprised, he really does seem like he’s been trying to kill the server for a while. This just seems like a natural development

  15. Right well, what constitutes political?

LOTC is a very political server in its nature, as i said before, it’s based off real-life groups and political movements with a fantasy twist.

Can i discuss IRP politics and compare them to IRL politics? Can I complain about a lot of IRP politics being obvious inserts of modern politics and they don’t feel at home in the setting?
How modern are the politics here? Can I joke about crusades? They’re medieval history, they happen on the server, but they have been brought up in politics.

Like, is the “imperial fascist party” that was around a while ago allowed? Can I mention things like politics from the early 1900’s from europe? Swedish politics maybe?

Can I joke about them? “Ah goddamned communists” and **** like that? Because I joke about communists a fair bit.

I’m not against these rules, it just seems utterly impossible to define, and feels like something that will be bent to ban people who aren’t deserving of it, or defend others who definitively should be banned.

Annoying bandit X makes a joke about brexit? whack

Good guy Y is chatting to a mod, jokes about “Dump the Trump BIG LOL” and nothing is done.

Well, most people won’t be banned for pressuring both adults and minors into cybering with them. In this one instance, it should be impossible for him to return to LOTC even if he kept up contact with people.
