In-Character Information Character’s name: Jaime Stokes Character’s sex: Male Character’s race: Human; Heartlander Half-Elf Character’s age: Nineteen Biography: The site of his birth was Lotharingia, In the city of Metz, year 1583. Born between a Human mother and a High Elven father outside of wedlock, his conception had been kept a secret from the man his mother was married to, who she had convinced was the Father of the child she’d been carrying. Up until the time he was born and it was made clear, despite his Mother’s prayers that he carried Elven genetics. His ears were slightly pointed and he carried eyes of a similar color to his Father, pale violet. There was no more hiding the truth from Jaime’s “step father” and his mother was scorned, cast out. However, after years of dependency on her husband, she knew that she couldn’t possibly be able to take care of both herself and her new child. So, she begged Jaime’s step father to at least keep the boy. That was the final day Jaime and his mother would see each other, for his step father had given into his former wife’s pleas. The half breed was not the only child living in the house at that time, instead he had a single, legitimate half sister, five years older than him. The family was not exceedingly rich, but they got on well enough. But even with this, Jaime was the neglected child for much of his early life. His Step Father had little love for him. He could only find any sort of affection in his Half sister. Her name was Amira. For as long as Jaime had known her she would always give up bits of her food to Jaime, help him in the chores he was forced to do and generally look out for him. She played a large part in the boy’s early life as a role model and his best friend. Their “Father” had a trend of growing more and more distant as time would go on. He never remarried, and it was clear that the separation of his wife hit him more than he would let on publicly. It was hard to tell whether or not he was guilty however. He never really took his feelings out on anybody, at home he’d mostly just lock himself away. Throughout the years, there was not much change in this. Jaime’s step father would put effort into making sure his daughter was fed and clothed but that was about it. During childhood, Jaime was no stranger to wearing girl’s clothing. That was, until Amira was old enough to find herself work and she could pay for more fitting clothes for Jaime, though, there was always an air of effeminacy in his outfits. By the time Jaime was thirteen, Amira was beginning to talk about leaving their home. Going to find somewhere else. She was eighteen at the time, convinced she could do what her mother had been convinced she couldn’t. Take care of herself and Jaime. The boy was not all that reluctant, instead he went along with the idea. So, in the year 1570, both of them left their home. The next few years were not so easy. One of Amira’s few talents was singing. And that was what mostly got them by. Moving around, while she sung for people and got meager pay. They never had a permanent home. But, the stress of seeing their “Father” in the state he’d been in was gone. They were happier. And as time went on, it became easier. There is little of importance, for this time. Jaime would grow eventually and find himself wanting for independence. It was only a month or two before his nineteenth birthday that he said an eventual goodbye to Amira. Convinced that it would be temporary, it was still a tear jerker, to the siblings who’d not spent a day away from each other at that point. But, Amira wasn’t angry, and eventually she encouraged it, maybe it would be good for her as well. Now, at nineteen, he lives similarly to the way he and his sister had lived after they first left his step father. With meager pay and very little permanent sheltering. And with the same amount of optimism. He spends less time in one place than he and Amira used to, if he can afford it. He wants to travel, he wants to see new places, thanks to how enclosed he used to be in Metz. And that is what he’s doing. Personality Traits: +Carefree: In comparison to his previous worry-filled years, there is not much burden on the half breed’s shoulders now, past worrying about food and the like. Though, reflections on his step-father will usually put him in a sour mood, there are little topics that have a similar effect. +/-Sympathetic: Jaime is prone to pitying people for their problems. Though, in terms of practical help, he is little more than a shoulder to cry on. He is inept at providing much that goes above emotional support. Though when it comes to said support, he’ll practically shower people. +/-Inordinate: A fear of disappointing people is ever present in Jaime. And because of this, when requested to do things, he has a tendency to go above and beyond what somebody would ask. For example, one person may ask him to pick a few flowers, and he’ll come back with a basket full, to make sure he gets just the right kinds the person wants. -Delicate: It is not difficult to bring Jaime to tears. His emotions are a very fragile, open thing. Something he’s not had any experience in masking. He is easily frustrated, Easily saddened. The littlest things could cause a reaction in him. Ambitions: Tailoring: Jaime absolutely adores fashion. Specifically when it comes to clothing, a big hobby of his early life was sewing, and it was a hobby that he carried with him through to his current adult years. He has big, romantic dreams of where he can take his talents. The idea of having a big establishment where he could sell his creations appeals to him above all other things. Strengths/Talents: Outfitting: As mentioned, Jaime has dedicated a large slice of his life to learning how to sew, make clothing. Much of his current wardrobe was created by him, even. And it has never stopped being one of his biggest hobbies. Weaknesses: Timid: Jaime is exceedingly poor at standing up to people. He is easily startled, easily threatened, and it’s not unlikely that a child with a stick could beat him into submission, if they really tried. To say the least, he’d sooner run away from somebody than fight them. Gullible: It is not hard to persuade Jaime of something, as long as it sounds right to the boy, there is not much else that is needed. He carries around him an overly trusting attitude, a sort of demeanor that has not yet been challenged. But, undoubtedly will be, eventually. Appearance: The half breed is very lanky, standing at 6’4 with a slight, slim build. This, along with his slightly pointed ears and violet irises clearly show off that he is half elven. But it ends with those traits, otherwise, he looks completely human. With a slightly round, freckle covered face. He keeps his Auburn hair at a medium length, as tidy as he can manage. There is a typically a youthfully excited light in his eyes, his resting face looks vaguely happy, most of the time. Skin:
  2. The title there already kind of gives a hint of what this thread is about. But pretty much I want to know how I'd be able to apply for a Fei-Zhu and whether or not I could have it as my initial whitelist character? (I've come to believe that I can not. But it doesn't hurt to ask). Also, if the answer to this is no, I'd like to know why I can't? And again, how I would be able to apply for a Zhu after I make a whitelist character? What kind of application I'd use, etc.
